I think Anet has pretty much given up on T8. Or maybe the attitude is that they hope it will fix itself.

Man we’ve been in the Glicko Ghetto so long my pvp muscles have undergone atrophy. I’m not sure I want to move up any more. What would my death squad do if faced with even a bare minimum of skill? We would have to put forth some sort of effort, and I would not longer be able to snack at my computer while one-handedly mowing down hordes of ET. Does an olympic sport shooter long to trade his clay pigeons for hungry bears or angry birds? Too much effort, I tell you : and not enough reward.

I don’t want to be challenged! I want to continue to gather nodes 4X in a row, explore the fullness of each map with all my alts, and scamper through dappled sunlit fields without worrying about death or hotkeys. I want to watch episodes of my favorite TV programs while absently clicking and giggling to myself. So come on, SF; enough of this “grass is greener” mentality and enjoy our reign of terror while it lasts.

As for ET/FC, I don’t have any enmity for you, you are tasty and nutritious and I love you all.

Had a few fun fights with Ferg last night. Some 5v5 or 3v3 and things like that when we could avoid the zerg.

I actually enjoy skirmishing against FC, since it is usually small group battles with little chance for a zerg of 40+ from either side rolling through to ruin the fun. Instead of the usual “defence against impossible odds,” the fights usually come down to timing and tactics. I’ve also noticed that SF has greatly improved their coordination and siege placements in some of the battles I’ve been in, which makes for more interesting WvW’ing.

Something to note, was it me, or was there something amiss with ET last night, it seemed like, after we took second, a good chunk of people called it a night, there was no Queue for ANY of the areas, and normally Friday on reset there is sometimes a 5 min wait to get into EB. Last night… Zip.. nothing.

i noticed that too. we had a good push right before reset, and then it’s like everyone disappeared. i was running with groups of 5-6 facing down zergs from BOTH other servers in the 30-40 people range at times… normally on reset night we manage field enough to at least look like we have similar numbers when the zergs clash.

i was worried about the ~40 et in fc border for a lot of the evening… but then i saw et border turn green and said ahhhh i see. yall just bunkered up in hills for a couple hours and gave up your map.

It was only around 20 of us defending EH against SF most of the time. Fergs showed up later.

TBH, I’ve long lost the ability to understand where all these indignant responses come from, perhaps its from the fact that up until now we’ve always yielded a resistance in the face of adversity. That itself is a testament to the very fact that our servers are NOT “carebear” servers by any means. Lord forbid someone get’s angry over people who play the game for WvW stepping out and doing what they like to do, with a complaint about server imbalance here and there.

Personally I never started corpse dancing/jumping/laughing/whatever until it started popping up as a problem on the forums. It happens to me all the time lol, really nothing to get upset about. As far as JP camping goes, I don’t do it but really why would we let you have free seige? It’s a war. Could you imagine if the French asked Germany for free weapons during World War II? It would be baffling.

And zerging annoys you? Well tough. I don’t care if it’s honorable or not, if it works and it isn’t against GW2 rules I will use it. Believe it or not, zerging is a tactic. Zerging is available to all servers, not just SF. Connecting back to the WWII reference, imagine if the French also asked Germany to stop fighting in mass because it was dishonorable, or it made them seem like “distasteful” people.

I will stress again that this is a war. No matter what tactic we need to use, red = dead. We are enemies, whether you like it or not. If you want a place where people are always polite, I’m sure you’ll love PvE.

But all of this aside, I’m proud to say that the waypoint at ET keep I ordered has been built, woo transportation. Let’s play a game… find the blue or red.

Guys it’s a game, not a war. Just FYI. Most players in sports and other games try to show some respect to opponents and don’t taunt or run up the score. Now I’m not saying that SF should stop capping stuff, but camping JPs when we don’t even have the people to mount a siege is rather distasteful.

The few remaining guilds on FC and ET can’t even get together to have a guild event in the JPs without SF interrupting us, even though the score is 2x or 3x in favour of SF and there is no way we could mount a comeback with the minimal siege we get from the JP.

I’ve had some great 1v1 battles with ET and FC. Both of your servers, like ours, have some great players and some not so great players. The overall tone of a lot of these posts seems to be implying that SF can ONLY win with numbers. Come on… I’m not saying that we would win, but that’s the point, I’m also not saying that either of FC or ET would definitely lose. If we had a somehow guaranteed 100v100v100 all week long, I have no idea how it would turn out, and to imply or assume that your server would win in those conditions is a bit egotistical and arrogant.
To those FC and ET that I’ve had some great fights with, keep it up, it’s always a good fight and I win some and lose some. Please don’t think this is directed at FC or ET as a whole, because it is not, it’s directed at players with bad sportsmanship (SF included). There is no need for it and to mature players, it just makes you look silly.

Yes, there is still some respect left on ET for a few SF guilds like cosa, but unfortunately you usually get lost in the sea of zerg. When we do sit down to have a good field battle, it is always fun.

Also, I apologize for any unmannerly conduct from our pugs, we usually try to keep a lid on that. Good thing is people like that generally don’t stick around long.

In any case, this “treaty” between FC and ET is already the de facto situation as we hardly see each other over the sea of SF zerglings. Maybe the real treaty could be with SF, wherein FC and ET give up fighting SF, and SF stays off of our BLs so we can have a 1v1 fight. SF will still win, since that seems to be the only thing they care about, while FC and ET can actually have some fun rolling each other.

I haven’t met the Queue on ET since I started WvW last October.

I don’t see the point of griefing in the JP and I do speak up against it. I guess it’s an ET thing.

Ranking system is messed up, but right now T8 is quite balanced and I am enjoying it. Finally getting some fun out of WvW after 7-8 weeks of completely imbalanced fights like what is happening in T7 right now.

Once upon a time, ET was apparently among one of the top dogs of WvW. Well, I wasn’t playing then so I had no idea.

But right now, I think this really confirms it, ET’s rock bottom, totally. At least we have a reasonable matchup somewhat, but I think a lot of ET would agree that it was better when we are matched up with HoD. Still, Looking at how DR’s facerolling the rest, I guess the best possible matchup would be ET vs HoD vs SF.

I remember when ET dominated SoS in the 3rd tier with dirty tactics and big talk when the first week battles started. How the tables have turned.

Well it was super fun defending ET Garrison all day with our folks today against wave after wave of invaders, but alas real life calls. Hope we keep up our effort level.

Lol no disrespect to HoD, most of us were just all confused why the keep looked deserted and all the doors were open. We had a big warplan all ready, gathered everyone up, brought siege and then when we get to the door it’s like “Wtf? Well that was a waste of time.”

Actually our dream is if Anet could just set up a nice 1v1 between ET and HoD, with no SF or BG or GoM messing up the fun.

SF has terrible luck for getting both ET and HoD this week. This hasn’t happened since the fall from tier one. We’ve lost most of our dedicated and skilled WvW population and we bleed more every day; furthermore as the game goes stale our replenishment rate of new players also decreases. I can only speak for ET but we only have a few die hard guilds left. Who can blame people for not wanting to wait 5 weeks to be able to play a game they paid $60 for? What you are witnessing is the leftover results of several early structural missteps by Anet, most significantly a stubborn refusal to intervene in their own ranking system despite the obvious flaw of world transfers skewing the entire thing.

But enough of that, I don’t know why some of us still stick together on ET but hopefully we can rally a few peeps to keep you folk on SF a little bit busy.

Maybe they could allow you to spend a few silver to clean up the corpse. ;-)

FA is a fine server and I think you guys will have fun there. Even though we’re matched against them atm, it’s been a lot of fun.

Seems like there was a surge from FA and they have capped most of the EB. A big Yaks zerg just showed up, so we’ll see if they can push it back.

Only small problem I had was parking them outside the cit door to taunt and farm and building a treb on top of that lol. But whatever, to each his own I guess.

Even though it was one sided, I think a lot of ppl still managed to have fun on all sides.

Even on ET, when our larger guilds showed up with good commanders, we were able to get organized and put up a fight.

GJ to SoR for winning the match and GL next week against your opponents. Also had fun playing with TC, the few times I saw them, always envious of the few more towers and camps you held. Sometimes TC and ET wouldn’t attack each other despite proximity. I even raided camps along side a group of TC a couple times haha.

Good little dust-up on the EB tonight. TC pushing on keeps in the south allowed our little crew to cap and hold some real estate up north. Was fun all around, see you peeps tomorrow!

I was wondering why there were crossed swords inside the TC citadel. Didn’t make sense.
