I agree on that face that you should cooperate with your team.

I don’t agree with why, but it’s not entirely their fault asking for a ranged weapon. A melee player being forced to use ranged weapons for certain enemies because of balancing issues is a game problem. It’s actually been a problem with a lot of games and not just MMO’s.

If you don’t have the right weapon for the right enemy or situation you end up struggling or being a burden to the team. This should never happen in a game that is about making unique CHOICES for your character and how you like to play.

Sadly we have to deal with it though. It’s not fair but it’s what we got.

I agree moving the dungeon out of LA would help the area a lot within chat and possibly with overflow. Either move it or add a LFG tool I say. But I would rather it be moved.

To me unless it’s a legitimate balancing problem or a glitch from stopping you from progressing without difficulty then just do something else to level up and come back. There’s a whole world out there to see ya know :P.

And if a mission seems to hard even if you are over the level recommendation there is a way to do it I promise.

While I respect and understand the purpose of this guild, and will post to give it a bump for those who feel this way. I honestly, however, feel that guilds like this are a step backwards.

Yes there are plenty of men out there who are straight up perverts online among the other nuances men can put off on female gamers, but everyone must realize this isn’t restricted to just women. Men are just as hateful, inappropriate, and trolling to each other….if not more so in many cases. If you have ever played a game of Halo (any version since 2), Call of Duty, and any more competitive part of an MMO you would think the perverts are nothing compared to the racist, hatred, and all out psychotic behavior. More often than not the perverts and psychotic-racist-haters are one in the same.

A lot of gamers, sadly, feel that the digital barrier that is between you and them allows them to throw morals and respect out the window. Every one of them have a reason for doing it whether it’s personal or just overall idiocy. No matter the reason, it is wrong to be this way and again it is not just restricted to female victims.

I support the right and freedoms that you have this guild and to others that are similar. If you feel safer in a guild like this more power to you. I just in the end feel sectioning yourself off by gender is a step backwards from the overall problem in the gaming/digital world.

Blocking/Reporting evolution to me is the way forward.

I wish you the best with your guild endeavors and thank you for hearing me out whomever reads this.

Every class can use some tweaks here and there…but IMO for the thief at least there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the class.

And by the way, stealth isn’t just defined by going “invisible.”

DEFINITION: “The act of moving, proceeding, or acting in a covert way.”

And BTW many times I have entered a keep/enemy area unseen with a few of my friends. We didn’t get in because we were “invisible”. We got in because we moved quickly without causing attention.

Movement, dodging and KNOWING your skills and utilities functionality is key to playing a thief. Respectfully I think what a lot of people are missing here is that Guild Wars 2 combat is actually based more around positioning than most MMORPG’s. In a lot of MMO’s you can’t escape attacks if you back away and create distance between you and your opponent and you sure as hell can’t dodge in most of them.

As a thief dodging, moving and going into stealth from different skills is key. CONFUSE YOUR OPPONENT. Your a thief after all. Don’t stop moving and encircle them. Cripple the kiters as mentioned above and use your speed to your advantage.

The utilities are all unique and you can really set up some unique play styles based on them.

I have heard a lot of hate on traps and poisons too. Traps are excellent to use, especially in WvW. Someone tailing you? Drop a trap. Holding a bridge? Drop a trap. Coordinate a bunch of traps with your fellow server mates and you can have your enemies turn into sitting ducks. Poisons aren’t going to be miracle killers. They give you and edge when you time them right.

Also tinker with those traits! It is very surprising and great how allotting your points and setting different things within them can vastly change how your thief works. I am pretty sure this applies to all classes.

AGAIN…. Tinker. Experiment. Practice. Know your skills, traits and utilities. LEARN YOUR CLASS.
If you still don’t like it…. umm choose another?

I’m a 24 year old mature male.

USA, Eastern Time.

Human Thief
Level: In twenties

I am on Blackgate but will happily transfer if I find a guild that really stands out to me. (As long as transfers remain free :P)

Now that I got the hang of things I would love to join an active guild.
I have had my share of guild experience in the past since the dawn of WoW (canceled) up to SWTOR (canceled). I played Guild Wars 1 as well but for some reason or other I just never dove as deep as I should have (life I guess) so I wasn’t in a guild.

Things I’m looking for:
-Active Guild, preferably with a really dedicated leader(s) and a nice website.
-Not a lot of obligations. Casual approach but with passion. (Doing things you volunteer for and when you are able to make it. Real life takes priority for me in any game, though I love my games!.)
-Maturity. I have had enough of trash talking kids and idiot adults in my time with Xbox Live and other MMO’s.
-Good mix of both males and females. Nothing sexist :P. I just have found through the years a good mix of genders helps bring more to a guild.
-Goes with being active….but please no guilds that will die two days after I join.
-Well established guilds that have migrated and/or have a branch for Guild Wars 2. (Not a must, but preferred.)
-I do appreciate and respect the rankings of guild members, just not when the regular members make the new recruits and newer members feel left out.
-Not being harassed outside of the game. (Yes this has happened to me)

Things I can offer:
-Good coordinator in groups.
-Voice when needed.
-Always willing to help, especially in this game with zone level caps and events.
-I love WvW for those in the guild who do to.
-Humor and open-minded. Not much surprises me and I am quite friendly.
-I love coming up with ideas for guild activities and events, and often will host them if asked. Creativity is my invisible middle name.
