vain 6563 chiming in for the standard “I’m against the OP”
Yep, you’re not a joke
D/p should not be stealthing the thief if HS damages something, I’ve no real issue with these pansies playing like cowards, but leaping for stealth + damaging at the same time is just wrong.
They can also teleport under the map to leave combat and heal.
Thieves do this the most.
You down them with a big hitting skill, which triggers their 10% auto stealth, you auto attack them (they’re invis still), all of us a sudden, you stop hitting, they never reappear, 10-15 sec later they’re running around near you on full hp again.
If you ever get a thief low, and have a strong feeling he should be downed, then reappears on near full or full health, he’s using ‘midnight’ or w.e that hack is called.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadow's_Rejuvenation
It scales unbelievably well with Healing Power, and is in a tree with both Healing and Toughness. This isn’t a hack, it’s by design. :P
Yep, it does.
But I’m talking about people who you KNOW you put into down state, or ones you’re 95% sure you put into down state. There is a hack that allows people to teleport under the map to drop combat, and thieves use it more than hackers with another class simply because you can do it while stealthed, aka auto stealth when under 10% hp/downed, so the enemy doesn’t see them blatantly cheat.
The hack DOES exist.
EVERY class should be able to do something vs everything – thats how the game is designed
Every class CAN do something vs everything.
The question is, whether you equipped the right stats/weapons/utilities to deal with that something.
You’ll never be able to equip one build that counters every other build in the game.
They can also teleport under the map to leave combat and heal.

Never played a game that has as great server lag as consistently as GW2, never.
The game has been sub-sub-sub par in terms of lag for about 8 months now, on/off for an hour or more at a time, every day. Rubber bands, teleports, delays, is the order of the day in GW2.
Do we all have to move to America to play on the sub-sub-sub par servers?
I find myself not playing as much anymore, but when I log in this is the usual breakdown:
- kitten these graphics are great
- Join either PvP or WvW
- Try to play
- Watch movement skills fail during lag
- Fail to hit enemies (delay/enemy teleporting)
- Enemies/allies teleport around
- Somehow manage to kill players even with the ridiculous lag while playing a melee
- End up dying to the awesome teleporting/rubber bands/delays
- Alt F4
- Watch paint dry while wishing the servers could just not suck
Have to either join WvW and zerg+1 mash and let the blob win for me, or not play at all, roaming/skirmishing/SPvP is impossible.
Oh, and ignoring the issue as you have been all this time is possibly worse than the server lag itself.

These traits/skills do not guarantee you a win against Condi builds.
L2P.
Also, Condi bunkers are a boring joke, and the easiest way to play GW2.
- Drop debuff
- Kite/heal
^ you are now a ‘good’ player
Bring more power if you want to get through those skills easier than it already is.
Condi/immob removal.
Condi immunity, Condi reduction.
Warrior longbow is not bugged. Cleansing ire clears conditions when adrenaline is used. The F1 skill on longbow uses adrenaline regards of whether it hits or not. This is also in keeping with the general mechanics in game where ele and thief healing options also heal on use, not on hit and guardian meditations also heal use, regardless if they hit anyone or not.
It is bugged as far as I am concerned bro
Thankfully your interpretation of what a bug is, is completely backwards and wrong.
If you equip a kite while downed, you can still attack, but they do 0 damage, sigils still trigger, like fire/air, also doing 0 damage.
Yep, not a big deal, but still :p
- Ring of Perception - 1200 gems – Wearer of this ring perceives all opponents as humans. Usable only in PvP. Account bound.
(other editions could be possible: Norn – for people that want to fight norns. Asura – for people that want to fight disgusting mutated drowned rats. Etc.)
As funny as the post was, ^this^ needs to be implemented in some way.
Asura make the game ugly to watch and and ugly to play. And are a disgusting abuse of a racial bonus, and we all know racial bonuses are not meant to be in spvp.
Give players the option to see everyone as a human/sylvari. Not norn/charr because that would be the direct opposite of the asura cheat.
you may want to tone down condi class, but doing this by restricting rune choices to options that don’t fit condi build is backwards.
Ps, I never even mentioned anything about the boring condi bunker meta.
Perplexity runes are noob faceroll runes that require no skill level or skilled play to apply its massively overpowered confusion stacks. There is also NO OTHER rune set even comparable to this rune set.
Just saying.
Watch spvp go further down the toilet if these are introduced, which I’m betting they will be.
Why will they be introduced?
Because ANet (like most devs in this generation of gaming) like providing noob friendly bonuses/abilities into their games, in an attempt to attract less skilled players and allow them not get steamrolled instead of having them learn to play and get good.
Those noob friendly bonuses/abilities, for some reason, are never implemented to be tied to new players only. Meaning any player of any skill level can abuse its easy face roll mechanics.
Give a skilled player the means to use something designed to help noobs, and you can bet your bottom dollar he’ll use and abuse it.
(edited by skyz.7321)
they are designed as leap skills.
intended to close the gap,
or to attempt an escape (with auto targeting turned off)Warriors can have nearly passive immunity to roots and snares in WvW. Throw in multiple sources of stability, their mobility, and healing signet and it is extremely difficult to lock one down long enough to kill them if they aren’t idiots.
Yep, if they build for it. Hammer/LB? Mace/shield/hammer? Axe/mace/hammer????
Are those builds built for land speed?
NO! Clue up mate.
Warriors have good snare reduction because they don’t have stealth or shadowsteps, and are generally designed for melee combat. Learn what balance is.
Man I love the “WAR CAN RUN SO FAR I SAD”
Yep, ONLY IF THEY BUILD FOR IT, which means they sacrifice a tonne of damage/cc/team play purely to move in straight lines fast, straight lines are also easy to follow and counter by good players. Thank you for clueing up.
30/30/30/30/30, 5 weapon sets warrior is my favourite build.
Too many people not reading, and going off topic.
This isn’t about the burst skills. Those are understandable.
This is about them trying to so the same to basic weapon slot attacks, and not apply this “obvious skill tell so you can dodge it” to other classes, especially to some of their class mechanic skills, when it is just as worthy.
Essentially what some people wrote here is:
“it is fine for everyone to get a flashing red light when the warrior does anything, but it is not fine for warrior to have a better chance at dodging certain skills”
Keep your unjustified bias out.
Waiting for red response still.
Discuss.
Not only do I not think this will happen, I bet perplexity will be further nerfed in PvE as well.
Wouldn’t they have to fix it before nerfing it? I read that none of the confusion durations even work. XD
The funny thing is the runes are still super powerful post nerf, even with the bonus duration not working.
GW1: balancing team and bug fix team got things done quick, with way more skills to deal with and balance around and test.
GW2: what balance/bug fix teams???? Issues for months/years, without a word.
Good luck, if its not the gem store its not a priority. Plenty of day 1 bugs still exist let alone this recent one.
Just no. Are you even aware that all of those skills are on melee weapons? Melee (of any profession) needs the mobility to get into the fight, stay in the fight , and, yes, to escape, because that is part of the overall dynamic of the games combat. If you want to disallow this, then you should also disallow kiting, which is really the same thing. When a ranged character attempts to kite a melee character, he is attempting to avoid taking damage. When a melee character uses his leaps away from an opponent he is doing the same thing. The difference is that the ranged player only has to get 131 units of range away from the melee character to avoid an attack – the melee character may have to get well over 1200 units of range away from the ranged character to avoid that characters attack.
These movement skills are no more a problem than is kiting. If you haven’t figure that out yet, then you are hopelessly lacking in any form of deductive reasoning. If you have figured it out and still can post this then you’re either a great troll, or a terrible player.

What you suggest is that thieves receive another instant 1 button stealth skill?
At least with D/P thieves have to use 2 skills.
Ini cost would have to be increased, as well as having a cast time relative to the powder+HS combo.
Necro – there’s green kitten covering your screen
It might be covering the screen once it is on you, but there is nothing you can do to STOP it from getting on you in the first place, literally nothing.
Tainted Shackles:
- Instant cast.
- When pressed, it attaches to any nearby targets no matter what. (Blind, block, dodge, evasion do not stop the skill.)
- Once it has attached to a target, it applies torment every second, even through blind, block, dodge, evasion and invulnerability.
It is a skill that is apart of the class mechanic, it also goes through EVERY form of defence in the game, yet it is instant cast, why is it not brought in line with the warrior class mechanic aka burst skills?
The point of this thread isn’t about how they are completely destroying Warrior Longbow, but I will mention this:
They already nerfed Combustive Shot to basically NEVER apply burning, now nerfing Pin Down to make it even easier to avoid. People already dodge to get out of Combustive Shot when they see the big ball of fire slowly coming, which means they’ll most likely evade Pin Down. Now Pin Down will be even easier to dodge, the longbow just becomes useless.
(edited by skyz.7321)
People have completely misinterpreted the changes.
Would like any red banner to provide specific reasoning as to why ONLY Warriors suffer from long and obvious attack animations.
The Burst skills, which we’ve been tolerant of, and to some degree, make sense:
Earthshaker – Obvious and slow overhead hammer leap
Combustive Shot – Obvious and slow projectile with a big arc (The arc is at least useful for hitting siege, though you did nerf the direct damage for no reason)
Kill Shot – 3 Second crouched down charge up animation
Eviscerate – Super obvious leap
Skull Crack – Long cast time and super massive glow around the weapon, and a sound.
They are all Burst skills, I suppose we can argue that fair enough they have a bit of an obvious tell.
But now you’re suggesting of adding:
Pin Down (Longbow #5 – apply immobilize and bleed) – Adding a new warm up effect so other players can see when you are using this skill and dodge it. Going to 0.25s to 0.75s cast.
Pin Down isn’t a Burst skill, or a class mechanic.
No other class (besides channeling skills like Barrage and Meteor Shower) suffer from long and obvious casting animations.
Could you please justify why the Warrior receives this treatment and no one else?
Why does Mesmer have no obvious casting animation when they use their class mechanic, clone shatters? Each Shatter should have a different animation and sound.
Necromancer class mechanic ‘Death Shroud’ has that delicious and tasty Tainted Shackles skill. This skill is instant cast, it ignores block/blind/evade/stealth. It also probably targets through Invulnerability as well. Why does this skill escape the obvious and long casting animation justice?
Etc.
Thank you for a red banner response before you go overboard and make every single warrior skill have 2 second animations + huge glows and sounds.

Bring the issues up all you want, they will never be addressed.
The same things have been brought up since release, bugs, improvements, balance proposals, they never get addressed.
I’m glad this issue was jumped on and fixed right away, and not bugs that actually affect the game, especially ones that affect the core of the game like combat.
Even a red banner post for such a non issue thread, its outstanding.
The OP hates how every patch a bunch of random content is added to the game and doesn’t point you in any sort of direction, and that people are forced to use dulfy guides to get things done. And that every patch is for pve, and that every patch that is always for pve is always about mega zerging and relying on random people which means you always fail.
You haven’t yet realised that the GW2 pve is garbage, and that it will never change. Play WvW, or another game, really.
Bump. These skills are still broken from release, still no word on any form of fix.
Yet the game receives plenty of overpriced gem store updates.
Bump. Bug still happens. As usual no word on fixing or looking at.
“The recent patch added a heap of asked for changes to WvW.”
The day of reckoning is soon upon us.
Finally! What we have all been asking for has finally come to fruition.
After months of neglect, WvW finally got paid some attention, woo!
I speak for every WvW player when I say we are more than satisfied by the recent single tooltip change which impacts the game oh so much.
They have shown us that they DO care about WvW, and are focused on improving the game mode and eliminating bugs and imbalance, whilst increasing fun and playability.
Thank you ANet, we are totally looking forward to what you will include in future patches. Maybe you could fix a few more text non-issues, we’ll be mighty pleased.
Oh look, Chris is back to trash BG. He seems to be one of the few here who care about PPT.
On another note, please consider SoR and JQ too. Winning doesn’t mean as much these days because of BG’s clear dominance. This week could be our …………… 14th straight win?
I said BG had skilled guilds and Siggy here says I’m trashing them. Your world is an odd, sad little place.
Saying our guilds are skilled wasn’t the point you were making. Your main point was, we have no right to say we aren’t stacked. But we don’t claim to be ‘not stacked’. Please quote someone here from BG saying that?
Try reading page 1. Page 2/3 are most likely the same.
BG is a joke.
Excuse me, I play the thief from the beginning of the game and do not believe the problem exists in the charged skills of the warrior. They sacrifice a lot of fighting to just run.
This guy gets it.

Lol people still care about PPT?
As much as I hate PPT, it matters when your server starts to drop because you only play for fights, and you don’t want to verse the lower ranked trash servers that never want to fight (they instead PPT or play siege wars, gets boring quick) (this probably isn’t an issue for EU, it is for NA though)
Because rangers aren’t good at anything besides maybe 1v1’s in spvp.
Their utilities are GARBAGE for pve and wvw.
All the weapon skills are lacklustre, #2-5 on all of their weapons don’t do anything outstanding, or anything for team support.
They require a 30 point POWER trait just to use their signets, no other class needs to trait to use ANY of their utilities.
Simply put, every other class is 1000% better at the game.
Very apt timing for this thread to appear as I’ve recently been enlisted by the WvW team.
What does this mean for you guys? I’ll be working closely with Devon and crew to act as the liaison between our development team and you – raising community concerns with the team, finding answers, being the good/bad guy, and whatever else!
For those wondering, I play engineer, I prefer to roam, I’m currently on JQ, and yes, I take bribes in the form of cookies.
Playing on a super stacked T1 server? Great. WvW won’t be improving any time soon.
Stick guardian/warrior super tanks to stand in a choke point (Like after a gate goes down) and the only enemy that will get inside is thieves and maybe a mesmer.
Guardians wouldn’t need rings and lines.
Obviously there would be some language issues. but nothing intelligent people couldn’t figure out
You have too much faith in the average joe.
