Currently when you use Unrelenting assault while standing in a static field if you teleport out your camera will be stuck in place and you can’t move your character. Only way to solve it using an active move skill which also breaks stun like Shiro Ripositngs Shadows.
Seems the elite spec is giving exactly what jalis should have already given us…protection..
Roy,
for the long term health of Revenant, we need more utilities
You cant counter situations without entirely changing your legend, which is disappointing. We’re too limited on our skill customization.
please do NOT rush rev or HoT
I don’t really think we need more utilities… I main Guardian and all I use are meditations or shouts for WvW and concentrations for Fractals. Every legend on revenant has its role in a specific gamemode or situation. Revenant can even be perfect for certain things since it can swap two roles in a fractal run, sPvP match or even WvW roaming/havoc/zerg.
To be fair it is the Revenants class mechanic and it already is a bit of a nightmare balancing all those skills other classes have since they can be combined in allot of ways. It would also mean once Revenant is done that each legend will be viable in certain things.
Shiro
Probably the best for melee combat against other direct damage builds but seriously lack the condie cleanse to fight for example a pu condition mesmer or condie engineer. Egineer is even mroe badly because if you use sword #3 against them you just get condie bombed since you are not evade during those attacks so you still take damage from their AoE.
I used Sword/Sword as many probaby did with Shiro. Sword #4 second part just costs too much energy compared to sword #5 which shadowsteps you backwards 600 range and pulls your target. I do found it sometimes difficult to pull this skill off since it didn’t had as big as a reach as the other skills Revenant has on Sword/Sword. It also bugs out most of times not pulling or even doing the shadowstep while I clearly hit someone.
Jalis
This is my go-to ‘ah kitten’ legend. Mostly since the heal is probably the best of every heal Revenant has. Shiro’s heal is good if you can use it right but Jalis heal is beter since… well it heals more and removes conditions.
Forced Engagement is too costly as many other players have said. Lower the energy cost or just buff the skill since it is only 2 seconds of Taunt and Slow.
The swirling hammers bug out on uneven terrain and don’t hit players. The cost to upkeep this skill is like a bit too high. lower the -Energy/second by one I would say.
Staff
I used Staff as my second weapon when running the Shiro Sword/Sword. As I swap to Jalis I also swap to Staff so I got another 1.5k heal and condie cleanse. BUT the staff #4 which cleanses condies only works 10% of the time which killed me probably more since I was just stand still for the duration of the skill and get hit by more conditions or direct damage and end with 1.5k heal and no conditions removed. So clearify if this skill only works if allies are around or not.
Staff #1, the AA, got a proper buff from what it was in the previous Beta.
Staff #2 is… not good, same with sword #2, it is just useless most of times.
Staff #3 It still confuses me on exactly what it does. Is it like Hammer #4 but also sends out projectiles? I just lack information on exactly what it does to use it properly.
Staff #5 is AMAZING if done right. I could get 7k damage on people using Maureder Amulet in sPvP.
Revenant should start at 100% energy always. thiefs don’t have to start at half initative when they start a fight and build it up. The energy cost on weapons skills is absolutely horrible. if i am at 5% energy trying to escape i can’t do kitten, not even weapons skills. It is not my bad play who is killing me but my lack of options at low energy.
This kinda killed revenant for me, having no energy at all is way to punishing for Revenant. Thiefs still able to do utility skills when they have zero initative so why can’t we use weapon skills?
Also the lack of having a boost to energy gain like thief has is soemthing that is bothering me. Heck even a trait that lets me start at 70% energy before combat would be a saving grace to Revenant.
-Staff improvements are really good still I feel that #3 on staff just lacks information on exactly what it does. It blocks attacks but what kind of attacks?
-Sword main-hand overall is good but a bit clunky, #2 just never use it: waste of energy and time. the third skill is good but your character just goes away sometimes chasing a person and the camera has to go to you and you lose a second and you don’t know what the enemy is doing at all during that time.
-Sword off-hand block is perfect however the skil lyou gain frm blocking just does the same like the second skill which is Grasping Shadow, guess it is so you still have that soft cc if your Grasping Shadows is on cooldown.
-SHIRRRROOOOOOO. the heal skill is just noodles. the internal cd on the siphoning is just stupid. it defeats the purpose of the burst healing which you already lack on Revenant Assassin Stance.
-Every Utility skill is amazing. 10/10
Maybe Riposting Shadows from 35 energy to 30. But I can live with this.
-Jade wind is also nice especially the damage on it, able to get sweet 3.5k crits on AoE? Yes, please.
-TRAAAIIIITSSS
Overall synergy between traitlines just is no existable. Corruption and Devastion is work well-ish but none like any other class has. This gives Revenant a pretty bad hit because you either go lackluster damage with great self sustain or go good damage with nearly none self sustain.
-Revenant lacks that instant condition removal because now if I get bombed by lets say a trapper ranger I need to switch to Jalis and then heal.. get staff ready and use #4…. meanwhile I am taking damage and nothing I can do about it since I either die by conditions or just not able to do anything.
I have to say first gratz on winning but I think the thief itself wasn’t that great of a thief, no being harsh but he was running away most of the time.
And to be fair if this thief gave you a struggle, you should duel in OS against real condie thiefs, you would die faster then you can use your healing signet a second time.
I played my guard for around 1.4k hours now and I run a celestial dps shout(meds are really bad if you fighting any condie class AKA 70% of wvw playerbase and OS duelers) build full condie clearing and I usually win half the battles.
So i suggest taking a look at my build. :>
please look at it, i am trying to help, get the hint please, don’t get offended, also every other comment in here is very true, please get beter, please do it for the guardian community, please. PLEEEEEEEAAAASEEEE.
First thing i think about this: wat?… no seriously what…
For a guardian to get the ‘op’ healing you are talking about he needs to go full clerics (or settlers but lets be honest be real for a moment) and guess what he kinda hit like a wet noodle then.
So if the guardian goes that, that = bunker, he wont ever kill you unless you wont use your heal, dodge and move. But you won’t ever be able to kill him (maybe in an hour after smashing your head at him) but that is the point of bunker, to never die unless he is outnumbered.
And if the guardian has no healing what would it be good at? I guess giving boons and maybe meditation burst but dps guard isn’t really viable at the moment imo.
So no guardian healing is fine but the class isn’t perfect and also poison works on it really well so consider it and don’t try and get something which doesn’t need a nerf to be nerfed or make it so your build now works against it which it clearly doesn’t otherwise you wouldn’t whine/complain about guardian healing on the forums.
Could a dev atleast tell u why they want the videos, cause again they are trying to hype something up and i feel in 5 months we will see what that something is and why they wanted videos from us.
I am conflicted, I don’t know if I should be happy or angry about this.
i have a good build which uses celestial armor and others prefixes too. It is a bit of do it all guardian, you can take hits and also have enough regen to get the health back in few seconds. Enough damage to take out people and really good 1vX potential.
Also great team support cause of the shouts and dodge heals.
So out of curiosity, if one wanted to roam in WvW and wanted to have good dps but still have some survivability, what would be a good mixture of celestial and other armor to be used to achieve that?
This is the build and gear set I am currently using for small group roaming on my guard.
It is a mix of zealot weapons with celestial and cavalier armor with celestial, berserker trinkets and cavalier backpiece. Everything is ascended gear.
First thing is for what gamemode you want to use it for? Guessing from the build editor it is for WvW solo roaming or small ops.
The first thing of my concern was that if you using signet of resolve with that much healing power you will over heal quite often wasting potential health. So i would suggest replacing some zealot trinkets with celestial trinkets for less healing power and presicion but gaining toughtness, vitality and ferocity.
Second if you use it with PoV you don’t really need signet of resolve if you doing small ops cause your group will probably have AoE condi cleansing but for solo roaming i would keep it.
And seeing from the runes and food you used you want to go with alot of regen but mango pie doesn’t scale with healing power and dolyak runes now ‘slighty’ scale wiht healing power but i don’t know the exact amount it scales with healing power. Also the rune of blood doesn’t scale with healing power but with power
So that only leaves you with a healing skill and dodge role heals that scale good with healing power.
In my opinion after saying all this, drop some zealot gear and put in berzerker or celestial and get around 650 – 700 healing power which for me is around the sweet zone to not over heal but also feel right on healing.
With the extra ferocity and toughness and vitality you will be a big pain in the butt to take down and also have some decent damage.
The utilities are also good keep them, but i might suggest swapping renewd focus to tome of courage in small ops cause the auto attack heal is really nice.
And for the build itself I suggest going 0 – 0 – 4- 6-4 i have modified the build a bit from the things i said above so i suggest looking at it.
Hope this all helped you with further builds and mix – maxing stats. :)

So I looked at zap a week ago and it was at 860g.
Today I look at zap and it is at 1090g.
WHAT!? That is kitten frustrating since i want to get bolt and I do not play the tp since I find it stupid to play the tp. In my opinion the prices of these precusors are getting out of controle and almost unreachable for people who don’t play the tp. The whole point of buying a precursor of the tp is stupid in my opinion, cause once i get my legendary I would probably say “Wow that took my along time of grinding gold” and not “Wow that took my a long time of playing the game and it was fun to do”.
I probably will just let bolt go, which is fine it is a cosmetic but so frustrating to think i can get it but it would just take 2 months of gold grinding and not having fun cause doing the same dungeon over and over again gets boring after a few days.
So i hope precusor crafting will be in game around the end of the year. It will make alot of people happy and probably people who make money of precursor flipping sad but that makes me even more happy.
Since i updated to the most recent build of Gw2 my game keeps crashing everytime i play longer then 15 minutes, i did’nt have any crash problems before i updated.
It might be cause the build is a bit unstable? but i know nothing about these kind of stuff but if you have any question about what is was doing everytime is crashed i can say 1 thing:
i was near the end of the personal story quest: Retribution (the part where you fight back against the Risen and get Claw Island back.)
Please find a fix.
