How about you stop posting when you have no idea what I play? I play Daredevil and Scrapper for PvP and I’ve gotten to Ruby multiple times, I also asked for for opinions about a nerf, not saying that it needs one. I didn’t say just PvP either I said WvW. Don’t come onto a discussion looking to start some kitten.

I’ve seen thieves go into stealth using bound and vault using pistol 5 and stay in it for 10 seconds with maybe a refresh by doing it again. They’ll come out with two bounds and then go invisible again. The damage they trade from doing this is insane considering they are dodging while doing this, and the frame of time you get before they do it again you spend either dodging or taking it in the face which will kill you quickly.

Does anyone here feel like Thieves staff 5 should get a damage nerf? It’s kinda silly that I can just evade and be in permastealth when it comes to PvP and WvW, then when I want to kill 5 squishies, I just hit 5 as much as I can and Bounding Dodge as much as I want. At least with heartseekers the damage is on a single target. With Bounding Dodge/Vault, you can just take out 5 people at a time. It makes both WvW (roaming) and PvP no fun. Should this get a nerf?

Fractals are a lot different now, I’d advise looking up on that first! But I’d wait until halloween is over as it is the main PvE thing right now!

I put in a ticket and the only response I got was “Sadly, we don’t change display names upon request. Sorry about that.” I feel like they don’t even read the description for display name changes because this was the same response I got about 8 months ago when I requested it without knowing it was not a service that is available to the public. This time around I had specific stated that it was my email, but same response essentially. I don’t cheat or hack and I don’t harass people, so I guess I’m still left in the dark as why I can’t change it.

Honestly, I just want to get rid of the ugly numbers, I never use numbers in my usernames. Everyone should have a unique name without the numbers. They are so annoying, especially mine because it ends with a 1. At least it should be a 0! It annoys me more than it should, haha. XD I’m pretty sure if Anet offered a display name change item for $10, they would get crazy rich because many people want to change theirs. :P

That’d cause many problems, which are explained in the threads linked above. The Numbers are so people can have the display name they want, so there will be a KingofKings.6520, and a KingofKings.5921

Topic title says it all! I’m curious as to what new weapons the community would like to see implemented in the game! Such as Greataxe, Unarmed, Spears (on land), Crossbows, and more! Also what classes would you want these weapons to be used by?

If it’s your email address then you might have a case to get it changed. But the only way to find out is to contact Support and ask.

You’re definitely not the only one who wants to change it. A lot of people apparently didn’t realise when they created their account that the account name would be visible and regretted their choice.

Let’s hope. I hate this name and don’t really like it as a display name. I find it good for my gaming email, but nothing else to be honest.

Then you need to submit a support ticket and ask if they will change it. However, by email address I think Anet means a full email address like XXXXXXX.gmail.com. Again though you will have to contact support if you think you meet the criteria for a display name change.

Yeah I don’t think they just mean domain name, but I don’t think you can put periods into your display name.

Anet usually only offers display name changes in the event the display name compromises your privacy, (example using real name or email address), or if the name violates the GW2 naming policy. The links below go to posts from Anet staff regarding this issue.

From the last link above that explains that display name changes can cause problems.

Long story short is that display names weren’t designed in a way that allows them to be changed without causing a potential (and significant) batch of problems on the account so we (support) only do them when we reeeeally need to.

Well it is my email and username to various things I will not specify, and I wish I could know the problems it could cause, I don’t see a place where it is specified what might happen to my account.

My father gave me this account for Christmas about 3 years ago or so. He just used my email for my display name (which is a reference to D&D), but I didn’t really care at the time so I was like whatever. I didn’t know it’d be visible to soooo many people either. I absolutely hate it and wish I could change it, hell I’d pay to change it. So I was wondering if I was the only person in the community who felt this way, and was hoping to get some opinions on the matter whether or not it should be an option if you can change it or not. If it was a feature, I’d think you could only change it one to two times a year, to avoid confusion 24/7.

The drop rate for T3 is considerably less than that of T4, so it’s not a reliable method for obtaining ascended armor or weapons.

Crafting is the preferred method, in terms of both time and investment costs. I have several friends who refuse to craft that have gotten their gear via WvW or PvP rank up rewards, but I have no data that indicates whether that is common or unusual for frequent players of those modes. I’ve also received ascended gear randomly in PvE, but the drop rate is too low to consider that as anything other than luck.

The fractal vendor was designed as a last resort for those who are unwilling to craft. It costs way too much for anyone else.

tl;dr I recommend folks invest in crafting for their first set. Those who can run at least 10-20 T4 dailies per week can patiently let RNG bring them subsequent sets.

Yeah I’ve gotten 6 Ascended weapons now from PvP. I run T3 fractals for money and I’d like to run T4 so I can earn even more money. Thanks for the tip! I’m not really getting ascended for better stats, I want them so I can stuff more agony resistance into them.

Its a stupid mechanic that has been since day 1, and quite frankly goes against everything that is stealth. Stealth should interrupt channeled skills upon activation… so stupid how everyone can continue to hit you even if you stealthed 2 seconds ago… probably they have a bionic eye implant or a thermal-locking kittening bow.

inb4 l2p, inb4 learn to stealth, inb4 “stealth is not like that, stealth is for…”

I can live with it not interrupting channels. But since I stealth mid channel, it doesn’t break my stealth, but people like thieves who can spam unload, can cast it AGAIN and it will still hit me WHILE I’M STEALTHED. This again won’t break stealth but it kills me because a thief can only take so much damage. This is what annoys me. I can’t rely on my stealth.

(I’m on a thief) I’m getting extremely aggravated when it comes to thieves and rangers right now while I’m playing my thief. I’ll go invisible while they fight me and I’ll go invisible while they channel their rapid fire skills. Rangers can use Rapid shot and Thieves can use Unload. My invisibility *bold*WON’T*bold* go away during this, but they can cast another rapid fire channel while I am invisible. It’s getting really annoying because I can’t rely on stealth much anymore because I seem to go against one or the other every round. Does this happen to anyone else?

Side note: If I shadowstep and use my Unhindered Dash dodge right after, I’ll dodge in place and not go forward. Anyone else get this issue?

I’m in a guild that is based in Sea of Sorrows while I sit in Gates of Madness, so no, you can be in any guild regardless of server.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback! I posted this a day before they announced it. Now…does anyone know if there is a PvP/WvW reward track for halloween this year? I’m saving up all my track reward potions for it!

I was just worried because last year they gave us a little preview or something similar a month before IIRC. Halloween has been my favorite event for the past couple years and would hate to see it return again this year.

Hey I was wondering whether or not there will be a 2016 Halloween event this year. I don’t keep up with people who datamine for this kind of stuff. I need to know so I can start buying bags ahead of time before the price skyrockets even more. Thanks in advance!
