I’ve been here since beta and it has dropped so far down that I am now playing games I had originally left to go off and play gw2 for.
Hopefully 1 year from now I will be playing the next best MMO hoping that finally someone gets it right.

As it stands legendaries aren’t as “legendary” as their precursors are. Precursors and RNG are the number one thing that keeps many people from ever being able to make their legendary. For what it’s worth, that basically just means your precursor should be as valuable as your legendary weapon.

They are RNG but you can still work for them and buy them off the TP.

I just wish they had a small monthly fee to go along side the store so they could focus the funds from monthly towards content and not be so fixated on the gem store.

If it was a precursor the price of all lengendaries would drop (along with current precursors) and wouldn’t be as unique anymore and 90% of the game will just be puddles of legendary effects flooding the ground.

Maybe its a precursor for some kind of new legendary, maybe legendary backpiece, but if its easy to obtain it isn’t so ‘legendary’.

Mystic coins + Eldritch Scroll + 2 other things make a lot of unique weapons.. even Arachnophobia which is a Halloween event item.
That said, knowing that they make a ton of other things it’s not going to narrow things down using the forge to guess

After all of these threads and everything that’s happening it’s quite clear the focus towards the new player base and the gem shop, as they are the ONLY source of revenue. All of these threads could be summed up by those two things, new player base and gem store.

If things were exclusive it doesn’t work in favor of a new player base.

Is that you can go awol for a year and it only takes a week to catch back up on anything/everything.

I love mounts. It makes sense to have mounts as well seeing as NPC’s have a whole array of transportation other than walking or wp’s. Also, it means the possibility of a Mario cart type SAB.

Wait what, are you honestly trying to say the the Oculus Rift is going to have some kind of impact on GW2? It’s not, most people don’t have the money or need for a superfluous VR headset O_o.

To me it’s like moving from black and white TV to colour TV. Plus the cost right now is about what you would expect for a second monitor so I don’t think its that far out of the reach of most people.

You do know they doubled their player base recently purely with the launching of the game in China? Also, it’s not likely they are going to go down the path where they release an expansion that is like receiving GW2 for the first time (although it would be nice), however with the release of Oculus coming at some stage that will reopen the entire world in an entirely new way from scratch and all old content will be able to be seen in a new light – literally.

The key is to find balance (which is usually the key to most things). I currently play two different MMO’s. GW2 offers me fresh content every fortnight which lasts a few days, and the other offers me bigger content every few months that lasts a few weeks. Just like you would go to the snow in winter, and the beach in summer.

I don’t know why people feel so entitled to have something new to do. Maybe it’s because after hitting lvl 80 in the first few weeks two years ago the world now feels tiny and you feel confined and seeing/doing the same stuff over again isn’t your thing, but hey.. it’s an MMO. It’s always going to be repetitive. New content when it comes out will be completed and they everyone will be back to the same old boring cycle.
If you want new things, go find something creative to do like go create some music, create 3d models in blender etc.. find something where you are not limited by what’s given to you, but what your mind limits you to do.
This game isn’t meant for hardcore MMO players, it’s for the super casual.. just like mario cart.. and you don’t hear people complain to Nintendo asking for new mario cart maps.

This is such a risky move. Some of the Asian countries have MMO’s that put the rest of the world to shame.
It’s like, anet has a girlfriend already and sees a better looking girl and goes chasing after her and tells the current girlfriend to wait because they are too busy flirting with a hotter girl. Either way it’s going to end badly for the current girlfriend.
Or, the current girlfriend might go look elsewhere for a guy that will be purely devoted to them and the hot girlfriend might ditch anet, in which case it will end badly for anet.

How about you roleplay the fact that universes have joined forces and go with that.
If you were a true rper you woudln’t be on the forums complaining, you’d be in the GW2 world going wtf just happened.. who are these people.. and continue on with your role play.

Yeah I have a few of these I gained from real money purchases.. would be good if these get compensated somehow otherwise it leaves the whole door open for things being purchased with real money just being deleted willy nilly thus making people not want to spend real money.

With the precursor scavenger hunt, I’d expect them to make obtaining precursors way harder than obtaining them now and definitely harder than obtaining any of the gifts that are used with it. Possibly linked in with the achievement chests so when you reach 50,000 achievement points you have all the parts to form the precursor.

Says you can still wield dusk if you make twilight, so it makes sense that you can also do that.

This is how I see it working:

Obtain sunrise + twilight (neither account bound): Fuse to make eternity not account bound. Sunrise and twilight no longer in wardrobe (just like now how you don’t get to keep twilight and sunrise after making eternity.

Obtain sunrise + twilight (account bound): Fuse to make eternity which is account bound. Keep sunrise and twlight in wardrobe aswell.

Months ago I got the fused greatsword and not long after dusk dropped for me (guardian). I used a transmutation splitter on my fused greatsword HOPING it would be account bound and it wasn’t.. so I made an alt (warrior class) so that the fused greatsword wouldn’t go to waste (I could keep it on my guardian and use the legendary on my warrior which made me a little sad).
This update is the greatest news for me! I can finally have the legendary on my guardian and fused greatsword on my warrior. I am seriously going to start throwing money back into this game purely because of this one update. I don’t care update new zones, pve content etc (I did before knowing about this feature).. THIS is exactly what I have been missing in this game!

I gave WvW a go and I’m hooked! I usually branch off with a smaller group than the main zerg and go around reeking havoc causing the other servers main zerg to be baited by us or following behind the enemy zerg picking off their members one by one. At one stage there was about 5 of us vs 20 and it was like that scene from the movie 300.. so good!

It will be rebuilt exactly the same otherwise all the holiday decorations and events etc would also have to be redone.

I see a lot of talk about subscriptions. I have easily spent more on the GW2 shop than I would have if it was just $15 per month subscription. A subscription service for me means I will actually be spending LESS money.
I spend my money when I feel like I am doing something and expanding on my game play. At the moment my wallet isn’t going to be shelling out towards something that has nothing really to do for a while (I play about 99% pve) so my cash is currently going into other games and I’m sure I can’t be the only one like this.
I love GW2, I really do.. but sitting there doing nothing or even just running around in a circle zerging isn’t going to make me throw money at my screen.. and believe me I would rather throw money towards GW2 but not until I feel its expanding my gameplay.

This was the final nail on the head for me.

It wouldn’t mean just redesigning Lions Arch, but also every single holiday would have to be redesigned.

What they really need to do is open up more zones. Not one zone, but a whole bunch at once.
The whole excitement of new games coming out is the excitement of exploring an entirely new world and having a ton of new things to do for a long time. Or they could have the ENTIRE map changed by whats about to happen and open a new zone with that. So that there is enough content to last us all long enough to have living content be fresh above everything else that is fresh and new.
Another thing they could do is have a scavenger system like that in Rift where you searched for artifacts (anyone else who played rift would know the joy of seeing a little sparkly thing hidden in random places through out the entire world), and have the artifacts form part of legendary armour. It would keep people exploring the empty zones.

If they wanted to destroy LA they wouldn’t need a drill to do that. So whats the point of the massive drill? Any lore that says what LA was built upon?

Also, I remember the NPC’s at Southsun Cove talking about all the baddies coming to the surface because they were scared of something REALLY big in the deep which still hasn’t been played out yet. Which I think (Southsun Cove) was part of the first event (I remember because the timing was off for half the world and then it was made into 2 weeks at a time).

I’m just wondering because I’m at 200 heirlooms and have done the rubble for today so trying to figure it if its still possible for me to get halo or horns.. otherwise no point trying :P basically from what you said I need to get either 1200 × 6 or 300 × 25 :/ either is pretty much unlikely

If after tomorrows event heirlooms aren’t available anymore how many heirlooms would it be possible to collect between now and then? Is it true that getting 1200 citizens means getting more heirlooms?

Legendary item that when you activate it does a unique effect that causes damage. ie a dragon coming from out of the sky or the area going dark and a lightning bolt searing the enemy.. there are just far too many cool things that can be done with this..

If you read the forums about last years events people complained that the content was too easy and you could do it without trying and also complained about one off events that only lasted a few hours (which have now been extended for a few days so that people all over the world have a fairer chance instead of waking up at 3am just to do an event that would be gone by 7am).
