Rather than nerf anything, I’d rather just have other world and group events be more profitable.
Since I’m not going for a legendary, I will probably make a few of them. I’m not in a hurry though. I’ll do it at my own pace just like I do everything else in the game.
Content? You now mean old past events coming back? ascended weapon crafting BS and MF reset? Awesome Content!
Super Adventure Box is technically not old content since they’ve added new levels to it.
I like the frequent updates. For me it means if there’s any content I don’t care for, all I have to do is wait a couple of weeks and boom, new stuff to do.
I also like events that rain loot. I find it odd that this is something people complain about. If you want to do content that others aren’t naturally doing, then rally a bunch of people to go do it with you.
Don’t take away mah loots!
Halloween masks! Kind of like the queen’s jubilee ones, but more thematic to Halloween.
Some Halloween backpieces would be nice. I liked the coffin idea that A poster above suggested. If we’re continuing with the flower theme, maybe some kind of scary deathbloom flower.
We have the dragon wings from dragon bash, but maybe some bat wings backpieces? I would love some of those.
If you have enough tokens, which you should get from achievement chests, you can purchase exotics from the WvW vendors, too.
One of the problems I see repeatedly on the forums is people equating what is a matter of taste with some sort of failure on the devs part. Let’s face it, no matter what they release, it will never please absolutely everyone.
I see nothing wrong with complaining about the content as long as people stay away from hyperbole, but personally I think it’s more productive for people to tell the devs what they DO want over just complaining about what they don’t want.
Not directing this at you OP, just throwing it out there.
They got their money they just don’t care anymore…
Based on what evidence? More content every two weeks? The introduction of the wallet. The LFG tool is coming. A redesign of T’quatl.
This must be some strange usage of the words “don’t care” that I haven’t previously been aware of.
You may not like the content or find it fun but the amount of content and the work that goes into creating that kind of content implies a work ethic quite different from what you claim.
Well lets try not to insult here. There is a thing called behaviorism when it comes to money and quality. Thats besides the point though
They can release content every day of the week, but if the content is stale and repetitive, it will be shunned by those gamers who do not have that kind of taste to do the same thing all the time.
My point is that Anet didn’t really have to go and redo T’quatl. They’re not doing it because they don’t care.
The problem is two fold. Someone is allowed to say Anet doesn’t care without any evidence whatsoever, and I present some circumstantial evidence to show at least some caring and you’re going to try to take me to task? lol
Let’s put it another way. Anet is not a sentient being. Anet is a company. The company has around 300 employees. Certainly more than 250. Let’s say 250.
So what are the odds that everyone at Anet doesn’t care? Every single person. Because we know Anet can’t care…it has no mind. It’s a fictious existence.
Throwing around words like don’t care without evidence is just plain silly.
what makes an evidence of not caring.
Give us specific examples of how the devs don’t care. You need to present counterpoints to the examples that Vayne listed.
Welcome to the game! I’ve been playing since beta, and this is the game I keep coming back to. I’m always finding new things to love about it.
It’s nice to hear that new players are enjoying it as well. So good luck out there in Tyria!
^^ Nice looks all!
Here’s my Sylvari necro, Luna, decked out in a mix of cultural armor, Twilight Arbor, and the starter mask. My inspiration for this character’s look… Tim Burton movies.
I’m fully supportive of mounts in GW2. I don’t even care if there is mounted combat. Vanity mounts that you could ride around Tyria would be awesome, plus you’d save a lot of gold on waypoints.
Anet could give us all a starter Doylak for free and then charge gems for collectible vanity mounts. I’d get out my wallet.
I love the Twisted Nightmares. The tiny details on them are amazing and their attack animations are quite fun to watch. I also love the “clinkity-clink” sound their gears and cogs make.
Bravo to the game designers!
I’m not going to deny that Anet wants to sell gems. They don’t charge a monthly fee so in order to make a profit, they HAVE to. (And I’m happy to buy them to support a game I love and play).
Perhaps one of the purposes of Ascended gear is to help us in some of the new content they’re developing this year. Some uber-hard dungeon or other content. There’s alot they aren’t telling us.
Just something to consider.
Good tips, Titan!
If it’s only the Scarlet-killing achievement you need, I’d also suggest trying to get into the Gendarin Fields invasion. The landscape doesn’t fight you (cough Nornlandia cough).
In my experience, I’ve almost always killed Scarlet during Gendarin invasions.
Wait, wait, now I’m confused. Should I get all my lower crafting tiers up to 400 now? Or wait until the patch so I don’t have to rediscover all those recipes?
What say you Oracle of Forums?
Get them up to 400 now. This effects 400 level exotics only.
Thank you! That clears things up alot.

I’m here to join the “I-was-Scarlet’s_pinata” club. Will there be refreshments?
Harvest everthing! At level 35 you might be able to make a decent amount of money running around and gathering things like soft wood and silver ore. Even some of the herbs in level 35 zones sell for a few silver a piece.
If you want to farm mobs, I reconmend pirate because of the loot bags they srop which have a chance of containing better stuff (like butter).
8/10 Nicely done! Bonus points for making her look very GW1. I also like the use of the blond bob. It’s a hairstyle you don’t often see on warriors.
Here’s my mesmer in Phoenix armor. I sometimes change out the mask for the Queen’s mask.
I can’t wait! Personally I’m over the moon about the magic find changes. I often choose to play my necro because she has the most MF gear. Looking forward to taking my other characters out for a spin.
Like many other responders so far, I am really enjoying the living story.
Stay the course, Anet.
+1
I love the Living Story. The frequent updates keep me coming back for more. No complaints here.
My hubby got one from one of the Champion loot boxes during the Clockwork Chaos invasion.
If I were Anet, reading this forum I wouldn’t know what to think. I see posters complaining that LS content is too temporary. So the developers announce they’re going to leave of the new LS content in the game as a permanent addition, and all of a sudden some people are concerned about that.
So many mixed signals :P
Personally I prefer open world events over dungeons. Don’t get me wrong, I like dungeons too, but if I have to choose, I’d choose something like Clockwork Chaos or a zone like the Mad King’s Labyrinth.
I like having the option to group up, but not be forced.
Sadly I didn’t take many screenshots of the Zephyr. Your beautiful screens make me wish I took more!
The only screenie I got happened when my hubby and I were going for the Best. Dive. Ever achievement on top of the boat and he missed a jump and died on a lantern.
There was a funny moment this morning on Crystal Desert in Timberline Falls when one of the Twisted Champions was stuck up in a tree. We ended up giving up on it because it kept regaining it’s health (a mender maybe? or resetting?).
Either way, it made me giggle.
CONGRATS Anet! And thank you for the birthday gifts! The leveling scroll was unexpected and amazing.
Been playing since Beta and have loved every minute. I love the Living World content. It continues to amaze me how fast we get new content and improvements to the game (like Champion loot).
Keep up the good work, folks!
Zerg farming beats an empty map.
My two cents:
I’m all for more story-telling as long as the gameplay isn’t too “on the rails”.
Personally, I like to explore a new zone and discover it’s secrets for myself rather than being led place to place by NPCs and watching their stories play out while I’m just the helper. While I admire the creative effort that went into the personal stories in GW2, I haven’t finished any of my character’s personal stories, which boils down more to my own playstyle really. In that respect I’m fine with festival content because it feels very “open world” to me.
I understand that not everyone plays like me so hopefully in the next few months there will be a mix to keep everyone happy. For example, my favorite game update so far was last year’s Halloween event. It had a nice mix of story, dungeon, and open-world content, plus some goodies you could craft once the event was over. (I love my Necro’s Crossing staff)
I just wanted to put myself squarely in the “thank you” camp on this one.
Especially for the shared Karma. Now I can finally use all those Karma jugs without worrying about which character needs the most Karma. Woo hoo!
Thanks, Arena Net
Just wanted to add my voice to the happy thread. I loved the event and love the Fractal Dungeons. I was also a big fan of the Halloween event. For such a new MMO the amount of content we’ve gotten in 2 months is impressive!
There were bugged NPC’s (at least on my server), but for me, the vast amount of things you could do with this update definitely made up for them.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Wintersday!
