I will use dagger for damage + with grievers set. If I need to CC ill use focus.

I believe its on gw2 side. Around reset kept getting firewall error popups while in game, then my character kept teleporting, and doing actions that I did 40 or so seconds ago.

Now there’s only the problem, that sometimes ALL elements are small. I know it’s a bug, but I’ve had it even with Tempest and it most likely also exists on core ele.

I figured anet would’ve fixed that bug by now.

Damage is too low, the vitality trait doesn’t do what it says it does, atunement CD is too long. Heal skill doesn’t heal as good, Barrier on ele needs a longer decay time ,Weaving through attunements while fresh air Doesn’t work. I love weaver ,but it needs LOTS of fixes and adjustments.

Whilst it does make him an unsympathetic character, it also accurately portrays the type of grief people can and do experience. There is absolutely nothing abnormal or incorrect in what is being seen from him. Considering his youth, and his unstable emotional responses, not taking it out on us would have been more out of character for him.

And yet people want to see him dead anyway.

I’d hate to see people’s reactions to people in real life grieving in this manner. :\

“Yeah, this person should die because they aren’t grieving like I want them to.”

But the way the player character acts around him is not agreeable. If it were me, I would not let him step all over me, i’m his superior. Plus, he’s a norn they aren’t supposed to act like that.

Yep, they were working towards it to be sword to begin with, makes sense the next weapon would use what ever developed assets it had left over would be used for next elite spec.

I find it very unlikely for them to choose an approach where you can get two procs of different elements at once. It would be a nightmare to balance and it would make the new spec mandatory.

you can use S/w for alot of things, but “most” raid groups want you to use D/wh for small hit box bosses. It doesn’t really matter basically.

One of the things I think FFXIV does super-well is that they publish a monthly report on the number of actions taken from reports. Knowing that they actioned 14,000 instances of “bad” behaviour, and banned 6,500 accounts, over the last month … kind of brings home, among other things, the scale of the issues they are dealing with.

If ANet published the same sort of numbers it would certainly clarify if the report option did anything or not.

I was doing silverwaste today, and there really was a serious botting problem, alot of them DO speak but they just say the most random things that do not pertain to what anyone is saying on the map. After VW was finished an accused bot said " any legs up?.

If they can’t see your DPS meter output, just lie about your DPS.

I fell back in love with the armor and decided why not match.

Apologies for taking a while to answer, I went through the trouble to repair the launcher, and it hasn’t happened since. Thank you for answering, nonetheless! ^^

How are you able to repair? Mine seems to freeze at every turn.

The leak suggested Greatsword and sword. But since tempest was going to originally be a sword, it may just well be sword.

the uninstall thing is a known issue with the 64-bit client, unrelated to the others. you can just delete everything and it should work though.

uh, if you have any dps meter or whatever installed, try removing (or upgrading) it and see if that fixes the problem.

you should also try a `-repair` with the client and/or deleting gw2.dat to see if either of those fix it.

I did the repair, froze each time. So my only option that I hated to do do is re install. Hopefully it’ll fix everything.

Awful load times, structures and AI don’t load in properly and the map doesn’t load AT ALL. Deleted local.Dat file twice and nothing has changed. Game is currently unplayable for me.

Note: My client was working perfectly fine until the patch hit.

Edit: Client wont even let me uninstall to fix problems, giving me continuous error reports.

For the next balance patch, Run a poll on what kind of fixes certain classes need. cause some of these nerfs don’t make any sense.

The ele nerf was highly unjustified. Ele has a hard time enough surviving high level content so now we have to suffer with a damage nerf too? I do appreciate the glyph of harmony buff. Thats the only upside about all of this.

Honestly, it’s pretty simple: people don’t admit to being new, because a small part of the community ruined it for you. Sadly, that’s not even the GW2 community, it’s the “plays MMOs” community.

It only takes one or two instances of being abused for being new, and asking, to learn that you should never, under any circumstances, admit to not knowing things. Doesn’t even matter if it was over in WoW, or LoL, or something radically different, that lesson sticks.

Which is why I adopted the approach of: if the mechanic matters, just explain it in one or two sentences. No asking if people are new, no giving a kitten if experienced players know it.

If that kittenes off someone so much they quit the group, that’s probably a rage bullet dodged later anyhow. What it does do is cue the new players without them having to admit to anything.

also there are always groups on LFG with min AP restrictions. Which is absolutely nuts because AP is nothing more than means to acuire Radiant Armor (or Hellfire if you want). AP is in no way nor it will be in my opinion measure of someone’s skill in this game. You can have at least 7k without touching fractals/dungeons and honestly doing a certain path/fractal a few times you get the idea what you need to do/improve and there’s not much else to learn. Yes, you could go into details to everything but the more you do same things the better you are at them.

It’s been said countless times, advertise for what you want. Don’t complain if you can’t even be bothered to do that little.

Have run plenty of T4 pugs where it was obvious people had no clue. Didn’t ask for experience, didn’t expect it (is not like pugging a 50 before, where you knew those joining would have a clue).

One person I know who advertised dungeons back when people still thought they were hard… used to ask a simple math question in their advert. When someone joined the party, the organizer would ask for the answer and kick anyone who didn’t know what the question was.

They weren’t looking for the best players, just for people who paid attention. According to them, their runs were always smooth after that. I imagine it might work the same for T4 fractals… although many of us dislike /kicking anyone without a really solid reason.

I ran into something almost but different to that. Theres a guild that does nothing but SW. They advertise, and with the american flag beside it. I think this was last week when i noticed people were speaking Portuguese, and Korean. Asking about legendary spawns in their native languages. Noone replied to them though, since it was an english run guild..lol.

All it said was “daily T1”. Nightmare fractal isn’t bad because you can spot the weakest link and compensate. but chaos fractal isn’t forgiving with weak links. I don’t kick people who say they have’t done a certain fractal, we’ve all been there, and will continue to not know when new fractals comes out. But I will kick if you don’t communicate or refuse to listen. If more than half the group doesn’t plan on contributing then i’ll just leave.

I often run into this problem too. A lot of people are afraid to say they’ve never done it because they think they might get booted from the group, which is the biggest reason thats been expressed to me. I always say that I’d rather explain something a dozen times than fail repeatedly only to find out someone’s never done it.

There are also some people who assume it will be easy since core tyria is also easy, and then fail to understand that they are the problem, but these are a very small minority.

I understand that much. The chances of getting booted for speaking up is slim though, I recently got over the hurdle of denying myself the nightmare fractal until 2 weeks ago, same with chaos fractal. Both of those someone was willing to explain. Not saying anything hampers the group because people assume you know what to do. The person that knew and I left that group because they weren’t even trying to understand.

This is not a rant thread, I’m just confused as to why people don’t speak up, a couple of days ago I was in a chaos fractal group it was going quite well..UNTIL the bonfire part of it(failed 6 times in a row). 2 out of 5 (including myself) were the only ones who knew what to do. At this point I’m guessing the people that were with us wanted to be carried. I asked “is anyone new to this instance?” only 1 of the 3 said something, I explained what to do. only the one who asked understood while the other 2 still did nothing. Why is it so hard to say something?

I’m not sure, but probably not. Remember, you can use Burning Speed every time you swap into fire, but you wouldn’t be able to cast Phoenix every time. Tho it would be fun to see if starting to cast Dragon’s Tooth, then immediately swap back to air would provide enough DPS to compare to dagger mainhand.
Until they add buff to PvE, it’s pretty much impossible to tell imo.

I see , I’m just clinging to the hope that Scepter will be considered meta alongside dagger. I really don’t like getting in close since dagger somewhat forces you to.

The only way you can get anet to listen is if more streamers addressed their concerns too. Remember when aurora peachy complained about the compact placement? anet was all over it.

Anyway, just wanted to share with other ppl on this ele forum. I play Fresh Air tempets in ranked queues and I’ve gotta be honest. The buffs to Arcane Shield and Arc Lightning are actually pretty darn good.
Arcane Shield is a lifesaver against thieves, and I use it a lot to make sure my Air Overload lands in the middle of the point for maximum aoe damage. Arc Lightning is buff is a lot more noticeable than I thought it would be, as I can damage fleeing enemies a lot better and it also does wonders against scrappers from afar. (3.5k arc lightning + lightning strikes makes some decent damage)

If either survivability on power tempest was increased or damage on core fresh air ele would be bumped a bit more, we’d be in the great section of the metabattle imo.

Testing changes and buffs between PVP and PVE. For sometime now, we were complaining that they had no real players testing the changes before they hit.

Gotta admit, I’ve raised an eyebrow at some of the buffs being PvP-only, particularly since some of those skills were nerfed in the past for PvP reasons to begin with. In Guild Wars 1, I don’t think there were any split skills that had weaker stats in PvE than in PvP.

I can understand why Lava Font went that way, but I really don’t see 25% more damaging Arc Lightning turning scepter ele into the new raid DPS meta.

If only they changed arc lighting from channeled to a burst skill, I would use it alot more.

I love Taimi, and I hope she builds scruffy V2.

There is the leak (although leaks should be taken with a grain of salt), and the .dat mining pre-HoT that found elementalist sword skills, which suggests that they’ve at least considered it.

We don’t know why they chose to go otherwise, of course.

Pistol certainly has the potential to be interesting… but if they introduce technology into the profession that way, I would like to see them go all the way. Make it an elite specialisation based around reverse-engineered Molten Alliance tech and asuran electro-thaumic ray gun thingies (rest in peace, Barron).
