I agree with OP, currently, map system isn’t working right, and im constantly getting in the same under popped map, with nothing going for it. I just want to get poi’s. not do the events, which im currently DR’d on..

You tagged too many mobs in too short a time.
Try pressing other buttons one spam 1 on a guardian, or stick around and actually kill a mob before running off in search of the next tag.

My issue is with pocket raptors, and Mushrooms, the raptors need alot less health.
I use assassin/zerker with scholars runes, I hit 15-27k if my target’s health drops below 50%.
I’m enjoying rev, but it feels abit too squishy, and the auto sword attack needs a longer range.
Iv’e been running into this problem on hammer aswell, im clearly 2 feet infront of the targeted mob, and says no line of sight.
people are still in the “i’n not listening to a person who tells me what to do.” mindset, and THAT is not going to fly in HOT. my guild had to coordinate Dragon Stand, at first people wouldn’t listen until at the pods, and they still wouldn’t. But once we go to the mouth of mordremoth..oh my god they finally started to be more reasonable -.-
well i played for the 400 hero points and i had my fun unlocking the elite spec the challenging way so i really feel like ive done the right thing. If other people want less and they get it i dont see the problem. What’s important is we did it the right way
and that in itself is self satisfactory
Didn’t really know there was a “right” way, but if that helps you sleep better at night then by all means. It is an accomplishment whether it is 250 or 400. I applaud you for getting the specialization the “correct” way.
well for one i got the elite spec the way anet intended it to be unlocked and that is by playing all the content so yeah i did it how it was designed to be done and not how whining made them change it ^^

I also finished two elite specs last 3 days but I am still one of those whiners.
Because I know there are so many people who don’t like spending hours on HP unlock or WvWing. You need to think for the majority instead of being pure selfish.
pure selfish? not really, I was grinding my Masteries, and picking up Hero points on the side, did 5 wvw rank ups on free time, and ran around tyria since alot of people don’t do HP trains, im a college student too, i made schedule on what i wanted to do, and when i could do it. Complaining wasn’t in there.

yes, i only did 16 of the HOT map hero points, and just grinded the rest of tyria, and have tons still left over.
since elite spec is hard to get right now, im running shiro/malyx. malyx is really good for aoe DPS, while shiro is good at quick damage.
How and where can i craft the Mistward armor?
Think I unlocked every item piece of this armor set. Just don’t know how to do it.

With 80 you can skill everything except Glint.
You have to skill all lines to unlock Glint.

I enjoyed revenant, shiro and glint goes very well with each other, since shiro is all about damage + glint is boons :P
As I said in my other thread there are numerous hammer bugs. 2. CORuin still cancels on hills/ramps going up/down if the game doesn’t see you on them. This has become very apparent in Heart of Thorns area in the jungle
i also encountered a hilarious, but annoying ruin bug, instead of going straight to the target, it went sideways, away from it.
At first, i was hellbent on charr, but they were saying sylvari gets more things going for them. so sylvari rev it is.

I love glints heal, if you got alot of damaging condis on you, just pop it and it’ll turn into heals. same with damaging fields. during the wyvern fight, when im low on health, ill stand in the fire for heals :P
I’ve noticed Hammer 2 doesn’t work on elevation/decline terrain. the animation still goes, but the damage doesn’t. Axe 4, goes too far, and on occasion will throw me off a cliff. Axe 5, works the same way with hammer 2.
My money is on forge. then druid. probably druid will be the better reveal.
I’m either going to go instant 75, or 80, i played in 3 betas with rev, and i got a good handle on how it works. i got some of the gear ready, but CBA to make ascended armor yet. or maybe i’ll insta 30, and do story missions, so I can make money off the lower material mats, i have plenty of time to decide…but im so lost as to what i want to do.
I fell in love with the facets, since i only used the heal and fury facet 80% of the time. this is what rev was missing.

at first the rev wasn’t great, but you took the time and made it even better. I’m quite pleased with herald, and I will try and get it again at release, thank you for making rev great!
I spoke with one of the team, they said it’ll just be a patch, and you can just hop in the game like you normally do.

I honestly thought rev elite spec was going to be last, with druid being 2nd to last.
i too wish for a revenant head start, and elite spec the time the expansion releases, seems only logical.
rapid laceration + impossible odds, the sword dishes out ALOT of damage in a short amount of time.
rytlock also uses OH pistol.

Players complain about how hard mobs are, when it just take a couple of hours to understand how to face them. A tanky necro down in 2s because of 3 snipers? I highly doubt that since I play zerk necro and it never happened to me. But sure it may happened but it’s not surprising for a HL map in any RPG if you’re alone and not “focus”.
They complain about how hard it is to move alone in a HL map of a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYERS online kitten . You’re not suppose to run like a rabbit in a HL map in any RPG. And tbh after a couple of hours you come back to basics knowledge “go alone and move slowly or join a party” wich is the whole point of a MMO (not being alone).Players ask for END GAME and HARD CONTENT and that’s what we have. And I seriously hope that Colin’s “Challenging Content” will be a lot more challenging.
I think you are missing the point. The main complaint here (as i understand it at least) is that the game is moving away from it’s original all inclusive, casual friendly nature. Nobody here says that there’s shouldn’t be challenging content. To the contrary. We all want it. Just not in the trash mobs. On maps where the respawn points are few and away from were you’ll end up dieing. One challenging mob, is fun. 1000 aren’t, especially if you have to travel to get to someplace you need to be. That’s not fun. That’s working in a game, and, some people are already working in real life. They don’t want to spend their 2 hours of playtime per day working in the game too. Simple as that. Challenging content belongs in raids, or even open world bosses were participation is not mandatory. You can choose to go do it, or you may not. But forcing it on everyone, even the folks who just enjoy the story and want to roam around a bit, i feel is wrong and in the long term will hurt the game. People here aren’t asking for something different. You are. The rest are asking for the game to retain its 1 to 80 form. They bought the game, it wasn’t particularly hard or challenging to get to 80. And when they got to 80, the content there wasn’t particularly challenging either. So people are justified to not want the game to be particularly challenging in the jungle as well. They’re asking for consistency of the experience. You change the nature of the experience and you have fewer players logging in. My 2c
mhm, the reason i bought Gw2 3 years ago, was it was meant for casual play, and colin specifically said the challenging content wasn’t announced yet, so i’m at a loss as to why “some” of the mobs on virdank brink/Living story are typically challenging. I don’t mind raids/events being hard, i will be doing them with my guild/others, because that’s what its designed for. But i don’t want to be forced to roam around the map with a group, and die in 2-5 seconds at every turn, no matter what i wear or what profession i chose.
I don’t mind it being used for skins, It should just display what the skins name when you mouse over the certain armor pieces.
sword #3 messing up my camera, and puts me behind the enemy, facing the opposite direction.
Hammer
I haven’t had a huge amount of play with this weapon this round, so I can’t say much other than it needing an evade on Phase Smash. I feel the cast times are still a little too long.
yes, phase smash needs avoidance, I don’t like the idea of getting hit by aoe fields where it lands, or getting hit while using it.
The only mobs I have an issue with are the snipers. When there’s multiple snipers there’s very few options available to you to stay alive unless on a class with a lot of active defenses
exactly, sure, hammer rev has a skill to block incoming projectiles, but it lasts but so long XD
they also need to add up or down indicator to the events, can’t tell if i’m supposed to go up, or down :P
impossible odds. I use that more for running, than in combat.
I vaulted all my ascended armor on my current guardian, created a beta sylvari guard to go DH with. Specced him out and went to facetank all the weenies that came after me. . . . 3 seconds into the fight I was bleeding out and going “WHA?!!!” I respawned and took a more delicate approach, never had an issue since. No more mindless 133314233214142132141232147483948172849912, you have to actually try! It’s great! PvE content that actually makes you better at your class is a VERY welcome change. Smashing your face into your number keys is pretty bland, but when you get spanked for doing it, you learn pretty quickly!

I overheard some…“things” about sylvari in the beta map. you noticed anything different ?
What class are you playing? Where all the mobs hitting this hard? Saying they are too strong with out giving any detail is no help.
i was using a revenant, and was fighting 4 snipers at once.

- you used a class where you dont even know 100% yet what trait combinations are optimal for fighting
- you cant have a lot of experience playing it either…
- your gear was not optimal (celestial and dolyak runes again i guess?)
- you fought 4 enemies at once with those preconditionsand then complain?
try playing the class you play best with an optimal build for open world PvE
with appropriate stats, runes & sigils and then see how the fight goesi really hope anet doesnt nerf anything before release
… especially if someone who played revenant complains .. ofc it is harder on revenant when people barely have a clue of how to play it the best way for PvE and dont have access to optimal gear, runes & sigilsI played it during last beta, and picked it up quite well, But, i never played on this map. and from how the story missions go, never have i encountered Mobs to continually wipe me out. sure you guys can diss, call me names, and a bad player, WHO CARES. i’m giving my part of the feedback, for anet to look over.
And we’re giving Anet our feedback on what we think of your feedback too. Hopefully this should prevent the Devs from rushing to judgement based on one player’s experience on a map he is playing for the very first time.
actually, ive seen more people say about how OP the mobs are, you just assume its just 1 player..typical :P, and won’t post, knowing how rude, condescending, and brutal the forum knights are, just because they don’t specifically agree with 1 thing.
and that in itself is self satisfactory
