As long as you have a bear as a pet and don’t wear exotics at level 80, you should be fine with that. Also, find yourself a Krytan Hound for extra dps if you are just clearing trash mobs out. They do ok for that.

Look I don’t know about you guys, but here is how I feel about playing a Ranger now that the new patch has been brought to us….

I feel like the underdog in a big fight. Whether it be in PvP, WvWvW, Dungeons…

I won’t quit on my Ranger. I just won’t. Not because I have faith in ANET to deliver the goods, but rather because now its my about my pride.

I will play my Ranger our of pride, if nothing else.
I will smirk when I prevail against FoTM professions in sPvP,
I will cackle at the insane BS my pet is putting me through pulling the whole map.
I will hop and skip from one mob to the next with my sword in hand, and when that is done, I will blow my horn and run into the next bunch of mobs my pet agroed.
I will laugh at my repair bills in WvWvW.

I pledge to do this no matter what patches/fixes/bugs/travails happen, because being an Underdog is better than cyring wolf. (especially when they can’t hit a freaking thing)

If you want a gear grind, go to WoW. If you bought this game in the hopes that it wasn’t another WoW, well, this is one step towards it. Gear Treadmills are for kids with nothing else to do with their time, not adults who just want a couple of hours a night to chill and pvp the heck out of people instead of their bosses.

Title says it all. I am glad I got to play 2 months worth of a game, 15+ hours a week, and feel I got my money’s worth when compared to most games I’ve spent this kind of money on, so this game is a winner for me.

That being said, I’ve run out of things to do that I enjoy. The WvWvW situation, for me, doesn’t work. my system can play this game very well for PvE but I can’t handle 20+ players on screen. sPvP is … well, its not enjoyable being ganked in 2-3 seconds. I know I know, L2P. I get it, I could make these encounters last 5-10 seconds longer if I only knew what I was doing … but that is still much too fast for my taste

So, with PvP out of the question for me (and I am a PvPer at heart), and PvE content completed, this leaves me with little option but to wait it out for the next expansion or something similar. I hope until then that most of the bugs/culling/class imbance get fixed. I hope ANet gives rangers some love, and most of all, I do hope that everyone else that plays this games continues to do so because they love it, not because its become a job.

Mine is Stratgan Ronilar, a ranger who is closely modeled after Strider from LoTR.

Hi there. Just something to point out. It doesn’t matter how you get the win, as long as you get it. There is no such thing as 1v1 in a 3 way horse race. If you want to be number 1, you got to use a bit of politics, and less arrogance :P, Just saying.
