There is a cat in the ne fractal. I noticed you can feed him a +9 agony resistance infusion, but then nothing happens. It’s still “hungry”, and it doesn’t appear in the home instance. I also noticed that it doesn’t appear on the API. Is all this normal?

May I ask you what class are you using? I’m getting the same bug. I use an Engineer.
Anyway, it’s not something caused by missing files, it’s a bug from the latest patch, i assume

Gee it sure is boring around here.

My boy. This wait is what all true warriors strive for.
Joke aside, i think we should get the next episode’s trailer in 2 weeks or less. SAB upgrades abd progression are character-bound, btw. You need to use the same character you used last year if you want the old stuff.
And yeah, with the festivals giving barely anything new, it is kinda boring without current events, or anything in between episodes that’s new or original.

This change seems to weird to me. I personally think someone is pulling the strings behind, causing Braham to obsess with taking down Jormag, “alone”

Emotes

Well then, why don’t we press for such an update then? We could have in the future, a quarterly update focused on Rping and immersion, adding new emotes, maybe making certain npcs more alive, improving on the Hot storyline, and other stuff of that kind. Now THAT would be a lot of new content, and even if it’s just implicitly shown, I would enjoy searching for said improvements (I liked finding an NPC in Tyria who recognised me as a Scrapper)

Racial Elite Specializations: Get some!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Elite or not, i would really love some racial specializations. I like that each race has its own special features, and i would really love it if they developed these “differences” even more, making each race interesting and unique (except on pvp, clearly, so hopefully they can disable specific specializations on pvp). And with no specialization, now those racial skills are getting slightly less useful :-(

Every now and then, i like to play Skyrim (or try to, as the enormous amount of mods I add causes many crashes and problems), and sometimes, there were some part of the music which were… strange. They felt familiar somehow, and they really reminded me of the music in Guild Wars 2.
While searching around the net for some music to listen to, i noticed the missing link.
Jeremy Soule has made the soundtrack for both games.
I don’t know why I never tried checking before, but at least now I know that my hunch was right. ^^

Cross armor type transmutation.

I too would like something like that. Maybe, like you said, add some particular item or requirement to do so, but i would really love to mix some equipment parts from the other armor types. The fact that my Character is an engineer doesn’t mean i always want to wear only medium armor. Actually, with the Scrapper specialization, i feel a bit more like a tank, and I’d like to have a more fitting look. XD

[Spoiler] Eir in HoT? [Spoiler]

in Lore

Posted by: superveemon.6738

superveemon.6738

First of all, Eir did go down with a fight. Since attacks in cutscene are realistic, Faolain’kitten(censored “hit”) was probably deadly, and yet she still “killed” Faolain.
Second, I do want an “extra chapter” where we get to visit Eir’s house for her funeral, maybe with Braham deciding to build a statue in her honor (like she did for the past heroes); i also want to FINALLY show Zojja that Eir had built a statue to honor Snaff, because if she knew of the statue from the very beginning, she probably wouldn’t have hated Eir that much at the beginning of the personal story.
And, even if dead, we can still find her somewhere in the Mists, o the spirit world, right? So if they put a fitting plot, we can still see her again.

MMO are MULTIPLAYER games, and they are such for a reason. Guild Wars 1 and 2 are also special in that there is much more care put on the Competitive and Cooperative side of things. So yeah, about people complaining being unable soloing everything, why are you even playing an mmo?
There is no mmorpg where the end game content is a cakewalk: what would be the point of it then?
I agree with also everything else you said too.

I’m not sure it’s just because it’s still being developed.
I’m using a laptop, not for gaming, but i still can play the game very well. But, on the last 3 maps that were added(The Hot Beta one, Dry Top, and Silverwastes) the framerate drops a lot. I’m not entirely sure as to why, but since it’s a common problem with all latest maps, i fear it won’t improve much, unless they improve those maps too somehow

Idea:Things hidden/unknown if lacking Mastery

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

superveemon.6738

This is just a simple suggestion. It’s not necessary at all, but i thought that when you’re seeing the bouncing mushrooms, or all the other kinds, it seemed a bit silly to me that i couldn’t use them, and yet i knew what they were. So, i think it would be nicer to have these things not appear on the map if you lack the mastery, or just have a different name, like “Strange Mushroom” until you get the related mastery. As i said, it’s something silly, but it would be nice to have. What do you think?

living world season 2 recap video too?

in Living World

Posted by: superveemon.6738

superveemon.6738

It won’t happen. You can just play the second season of Living World to understand what happens. Also, the cinematic is a temporary replacement, for those player who never got a chance to play season 1. It will probably be removed when they manage to implement season 1 in that episode format. And the video, as nice as it is, skips a lot of details in the story. If you really want a short recap of season 2, just look at the wiki.

You do know you can use a tome of knowledge to get 1 spirit shard, right?
You do know that by doing 3 dailies, you get 3 spirit shards, right?
If you hate the drop rate, then go for these certain rewards.
Also, with the expansion, they’ll revamp the legendary crafting, probably making it easier, or more pleasant to go trough

Dungeons: Improvement in new expansion?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

superveemon.6738

Dungeons already aren’t always winnable only by stacking. Also, ranged or not, that was just a player worth ignoring. I’m sorry you had to deal with him.

And if you really want a dungeon without having to stack, i guess you’d better play a dungeon with friends you can talk with (with skype or something else),as there is no time to strategize in the middle of battle by writing in the chat XD, so with stacking everyone just do their best

DE 1.0 - who else died?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: superveemon.6738

superveemon.6738

Just to be honest. All pact members that die, they only appear in just one “episode”.
Honestly, some deaths might be sad, but i really don’t feel so bonded to them.
Destiny’s Edge members, on the other hand are characters to whom we “bond” much deeper, interacting with them on the first part of our personal story, like our teachers, our mentors. Their death would be really hard for the players, and having some of them die would be unfair to those races who met them in the personal story.
Either they all die, which would be too tragic though, or they survive.
Also, can’t we have, at least once, some part where we sacrifice ourselves to save others, and obviously not die.
I don’t really like having people always sacrifice for others, and get killed doing so; it just happens too much in the story.

Then why is there no core game available for purchase to new players now?

Have faith , stop , and think about it.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

superveemon.6738

You really are pointing out the right things!

About the price, we have indeed evidence that it is indeed the price for core game+expansion and not expansion only (with free core game).
The proof is that there is no option to buy only the core game now; why would that be? after all, the core game would cost less of the expansion (with free core game). What if someone had not enough money to afford it?
The answer is simple: that is the new standard game, the only way to buy the core game is along with the expansion, meaning that’s the price of the base core AND the expansion.

And, it’s early! Everyone, calm down! There is still time!
Things can still change, so complaining this much is not good.

Guys, there’s a term “Time value of money.” At its most basic level it means that money now is worth more than money later. Similarly, getting into an MMO at the ground level is worth more than getting into it later. You’ve had much more time to play the game and many more opportunities to progress than new players.

Let’s say that back when GW2 first came out, you went to buy it and were given an offer. You can buy the game now at full price and play it, OR wait for three years and you’ll get the game for free when you buy the expansion. I guarantee most if not all of you would have went with the buy now option. The core game was worth more when it came out than it is now. The new players are not getting a better deal than you.

I’m sorry, but i have to disagree on this one. One of the advantages of this game is that it’s easy to get to level 80, meaning it’s easy to get to the level of veteran players (a friend of mine got a copy of the game from me about a month ago, after me. He got to level 80 before me, and has obtained 100% map completion; his 2 crafting professions are about 400, and his second character is already over level 40). Time is not an advantage here, rather the “perseverance” of playing every day and constantly.
New player can easily beat a veteran if they play the game a lot everyday.
And the problem here is that 50$ is not the expansion, it’s the full game, meaning they’re forcing us to buy the game again just to get the expansion, with the poor excuse of the price being “the expansion + free core game” (unless it was a miswriting).
And it’s true that new player are not getting a better deal than us, because we’re getting the same deal as newcomers. We are forced to buy the whole thing again as if we were playing the game for the first time.
I’m fine with the price, but i’m completely against the idea of buying the game again; and that lie about the price won’t certainly help me view it differently.

This is not to say that what ANet is doing here isn’t a slap across GW2 veteran’s faces, but most veterans prolly got access to a lot of living world stuff that newer players have to pay to gain access to. An argument to this point would be that some players might have missed out on some of the living world chapters and will never have access to it/have to pay for those chapters, but I think for most veterans it is a compromise.

Sadly, the living world part is not true. The first season was available on a limited time, and they will work on implementing it as a permanent addition, season 2 style.
And season 2 was available for free only to those who logged in during the time the episodes were released. Not all veterans were logged in at those times and had access to those.

Btw, i bought the game at 10€, and i really liked it, so i really don’t mind buying the expansion at 75€, by considering the extra price as being what i would have paid along with the 10€ to buy the core game. However that doesn’t easily apply to older players, as they bought the game at higher prices, and now they have to buy the expansion for a similar (or even higher) price and getting less content. And on top of that new players just spend half of what they did and get all the content regardless.

And honestly, this expansion is level 80 content; it’s true that levelling up in the game is very easy, but it’s still supposed to be an expansion “for veteran players”, so it makes less sense to me for them to make such an offer. New players can buy the original game, get to level 80, see it’s a nice game, and then buy the expansion; that “bundle for newcomers” doesn’t really seem like the best choice imo.

(After looking at the site)
But when you go to the site to buy Guild Wars 2, you realize that the only one you can buy is the core game + expansion, meaning the price the game now has is 44,99€, expansion included which feels really like:
“The game got updated, with the price being increased thanks to the new update. Older players HAVE to buy the game once again to enjoy the new features”.

It’s not that new players get the core game as a plus when buying the expansion (because there is no option of buying the core game anymore),
it’s that veteran players have to buy the whole game again.
u.u

Just to point it out clearly (sorry if i keep adding things)
45€ is the price of the whole game, not just the expansion (whose price might be between 10-20€, given the core game’s last price was 35)
The problem is that we don’t know whether we’ll have to buy the game once again, or if they’ll add an expansion only option. It game out less than 24 hours ago, so there’s still time for things to change.
