It is still suppose to support like auramancer.. sacrifice the invuln and defensive traits in earth for arcane with OH dagger for maneuverability, aoe cc, and because offhand dagger is just way more fun compared to focus. water swap plus dodge roll and water 2 will heal your team mates and the shout heal i only really use for support. i get enough heals from auras and water swap/dodge

Overloading is too slow and you lose a lot of your extra surviveability. I suggest taking Invigorrating Torrents so you can cleanse more than not, and probably never overload. The reason why cele worked so well is because it had all the skills it needed whenever it needed it, and that cannot happen with an extra 12 second cooldown on your attunements.

this goes for the meta shout build too… you do not spam overloads since that practically puts a target over your head. Overloads are situational and requires good positioning and awareness. i find it actually easier to overload with arcane shield and armor of earth and i really do not feel the extra CD on the attunement used.

Ummm did you not read the part where I said take invigorating torrents instead depending on team comp, auramancer will take harmonious conduit if there is a lot of cc on the enemy team and no real threatening condi classes. I wasn’t trying to build a dps ele and you have more than enough condi clear via water swap and can trips. The problem most eles make is they see a bunch of condis and blow their clears on trash condis like weakness and cripple on themselves. It might not be easy to play and you will have to work harder but it is suppose to be FUN.

Air overload+up draft+burning speed&lightning flash+RoF+Fire grab in a burst rotation will chunk anyone into proccing their passive for a thief to burst after. That combo will catch people off guard. You can waste lightning flash since you have other means to escape with offhand dagger. Remember it is a fun build, I know it’s not hard making into Plat but I did use this build and still do in ranked just fine but I also clearly stated to use it in UNRANKED or anything lower than t2 plat

This is for all the eles sick of the DF shoutmancer build which is extremely boring to play and the eles in game who asked me to post the build.
I have placed in platinum with this build and yes I did duo Q but before anyone discredits the build since i did duo.. i duo’d with a vanilla shatter mesmer so we played 2 non meta builds and 1 without an elite spec and went 7-2 until the last match where an engi literally did not play and afk’d in the beginning due to the fact that he saw we were non meta(POS punk kitten didnt even try). Placed at 1700 on fun builds and our Last 5 games we consistently went against past pro league players and held our own.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILD FOR HIGH PLAT or am claiming this is the new meta but if you miss the fast paced dd ele playstyle i highly recommend this for unranked or if you only ele and there is an auramancer in party already.

Build plays the same as the old dd ele. High maneuverability, support(obviously not as much as auramancer), can 1v1 but better at team fighting, condi clear, aoe cc and decent damage with the right rotations. Yes i do recommend taking arcane shield, the cd reduction makes it well worth taking as an additional stun break, cover overloads to make sure they finish channeling, survivability, and even against thieves when you are expecting to be bursted down and they are low for some counter pressure. Depending on enemy comp you can run Invigorating Torrents vs Harmonious Conduit and Powerful Aura vs Cleansing Water. Leadership, Scrapper, Hoelbrak/Strength runes instead of Surging.

so has anyone else noticed that you cannot swap legends mid jump in retribution but you can in invocation? I usually play invocation rev but with the amount of thieves and DHs in pvp now retribution is a must in some matches. I tend to dodge jump a lot and swap legends mid dodge/jump if i’m running energy sigil since there is stab on dodge roll in the retribution line, but this messes me up since the legend swap does not occur mid air but the weapon swap does.

can someone else test this and run retribution, jump and legend swap and see if it swaps and then run invocation and legend swap mid jump and see if it happens to them? is this a bug or is it intended? I know it’ll probably take ages but ANET PLEASE ALLOW LEGEND SWAPS MID AIR IN RETRIBUTION LIKE IT WORKS WITH THE INVOCATION LINE. i know all i have to do is not jump while dodging but everyone knows dodge/jumps= ninja skills so please fix this so legend swaps can proc mid air.

1. you need to plus one more, you are supposed to be playing rev like a thief who comes in blows people up and leaves once they are downstate to do that at the next point. rev has amazing mobility and burst damage. yes you can 1v1 for days but that is a complete waste when an engi, warr, chrono or even a druid can do that job. burtnik is right and a good rev should have between 300k to 700k dmg if he does what he is supposed to do. props if you keep hitting that 1 mil mark

2. you are using your UA to much in team fights. damage is spread out so it is a waste when you should be saving it as a defensive skill in team fights. in actual high tier play you will never see a rev waste their UA in team fights due to the fact that it is a great defensive move. 1v1 sure use it but might as well sword auto for more damage and save it for defense

3. you don’t use quickness enough.. you barely used it for damage or downstate cleave. re watch some of the esl games and revs utilize quickness on sword along with their shiro heal and absolutely delete people. that is your main source of damage and all the other moves you use outside of their utility for certain situations is just to look cool i guess. for example you used your glint knockback into weapon/legend swap to shiro and staff and used your staff 3.. why would you use staff 3? should have just knockback swapped legend to shiro and sword auto with quickness. wasted your staff block for nothing when you needed damage and not a blind or block.

those are the main things other than the glaring poor choice of outnumbered fights, lack of rotation and plus 1’s, and the other teams terrible engi(engi should not lose that fast to rev or ever lose a 1v1) and a scepter ele who was food to your team… good vid to watch if you want to see some rev gameplay but far from high tier, forums aren’t here for praise but for criticism.. at least that’s how i view it, use it for constructive criticism. hope this helps you

There are no NPC pirates in this map that interact with players. The secondary mechanic is a periodic 4th capture point (“The Bell”) that awards increasing team score.

There was probably some confusion because once the bell is captured, there is an awesome sequence of cannons blowing up the pirate ship. This is only for flavor, though.

A grind is spending 8 weeks to make legend.. making legend is in less than a week and practicing as a core team is not considered luck or even a grind

True… amber players are about as good as legendary players…they just grinded a bit more. Just like pro league players arent much better than id guess ruby/ diamond max players….they just had more luck and grinded more.

Saying they grinded to that point is absurd, I know that the challenger team I was on and even gems n tonic (players who have been together for over a year and competed in many tournies) played the night before the end of the season to secure a spot, it wasn’t a grind… we were just able to string together wins to get placement no problem compared to the average forum warrior.. one night of playing is far from a grind to be a pro player.. there is a reason why you see those same guys win AG’S and move on to ESL or now pro leagues. The only reason any other pro league player is not legend is because they only play when scrimmages are scheduled and give two kittens about divisions

Way better than last season. No more 15 min timer games and win streak system makes it so players who should be in legendary get there asap. Played less than a hundred games on an alt class (ele is so boring to play) in 5 days and made legend no prob. All the actual “good” players got to legend no problem that I know of. Not everyone is going to be in legend, some people make it who shouldn’t be there. If it feels like a grind to you or you are having issues you probably shouldn’t be in legend.

lol not my fault, the 3 you picked ups fault, the people on the forum’s fault to make a shady decision when you were not the designated leader.

regardless of who created the guild. were we not equals on the team? when i joined we discussed that there was no leader.. guess that was a huge mistake. were we notified of the kicks? did we talk about the situation before you guys took on new players? you had ways to contact caspian and I. 3 members were dropped by two of equal rank with no notification or any type of vote. I had to find out through a member who was kicked. a simple text to get on ts to talk woulda worked for me

apparently it was a package deal so it was reallyyyyy hard to pass up. and the time frame to retain their services was such a small window that they had no time to notify their actual team members let alone talk about it.

I don’t care about the money, a simple heads up or a talk about the situation woulda been nice. I don’t know about casp and sivvy but I got completely blind sided by it. One second they’re texting me to hurry home for scrims then the next night I get dropped with no notification. Not just me but 2 others on the team. No txt, no message, no guild message of the day, no carrier pigeon, no smoke signals, no hint that we were gonna get dropped. I found out through a fellow member who got dropped. Man at least give me the courtesy of telling me yourself if you want to drop me.

2/5 people should not dictate a team’s direction, it should be at least 3/5. kittenty position and ANet should do something to take these things into considerations. For example: giving the 3 members who were kicked the opportunity to take over that seed or seed into the Challenger Cup; not allowing any of them to play; or if the the team that kicked the 3 other members do make it and get that automatic cash prize for making it then it should be split among those who got to the challenger cup and those who made it into Pro Leagues.

I see how this is relevant to Challenger or any gw2 tournament.

It should definitely be a majority vote – at least 3 Original members to a Team in order for that team to keep their positions in the League. That said, it gets a bit technical when 1 member out of 3 decides to leave.

As for the rights to the team name, well, these players created it in ESL so there shouldn’t be an issue with ownership, correct?

If that 1 member out of 3 leaves the newly created team, that team should lose their position in the tourney and counted as a new entry team, imo.

the issue is that no one left the team. the 2 members dropped 3 members without communicating to them. they dropped the ranks of the 3 members in the guild since we all shared the same rank. no one left. they took over the team without even talking to the other team members

kitten the dream was must’ve been real enough for them to drop 60 PERCENT of their team without notifying them. I seriously logged on and was notified by a fellow member who was dropped from the roster, not even by the duo who decided to take control of the group who so called had “equal” rank within the team. No designated leader but apparently 2>3 so kitten me right? work a season to only be dropped without the courtesy of being notified lmao.

i am having the same issue with the 64 bit client. i can log on but once i click play the game does not come up and if I try to open it through the 32 bit, i get a message saying that guild wars 2 is already running. I was able to open the game once through the 32 bit client but the maps would get stuck in the loading screen and i would have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to pull up the task manager, exit out of task manager, then go back to the guild wars 2 game and the it would exit out of the loading screen and the map would be loaded. i thought it was my computer but hearing others are having similar issues is making me think it was the patch.

lol We might as well reduce their dodge rolls to one for ever 10 sec, reduce them to sticking to one attunement while in combat and remove condi clears completely from water line. and also while nerfing dd ele since no one can kill it, we might as well nerf support guard since i’ve seen multiple 3v1’s that cant kill a support guard with half a brain. and we should nerf svarnir since it drops scrubs or even lord since some ppl can’t solo it. just l2p.

tips for fighting an ele:
don’t 1v1 it
don’t 2v1 it if both of you lack dps
tell your thief and mes or a rampage warr to blow it up
PRACTICE because the more you QQ won’t make you better
… i’m sure others can help you out with more tips

Higher lvl guys hate dd eles just as much as you do but they learn how to play against it. It’s a l2p issue.. not my fault you can’t avoid RoF now lol and when you guys do start QQ’ing about the next flavor of the month cry about engi because they decap better and hold points 1v1’2v1’s like ele. or maybe nerf that annoying rabbit in fractals that one shots people who double dodge roll then wonder why they are dead 2s later

i’ve been waiting for like 2 months for 7 of them and some gems.. probably backed up due to all of the stuff with the expansion. just be patient they will come
