A big complaint even during beta, but the reasoning is always the same in the end:
If you could easily tele back, death wouldn’t matter.
It would seriously unbalance everything.
Am I the only one who absolutely hates the heart system in this ?
Game would’ve been awesome with only DEs all around.
Orr is a step in the right direction (other than risen pack density), but lower DE difficulty and increase rate of events all around.
Blame lack of reward for 1+ hr dungeons or killing full mobs, and blame the need to grind gold like crazy for endgame skins.
I’d rather wait for them to add new dungeons honestly than having a HM mechanic.
We got ~24 exp mode dungeons.
If you add HM on top of that, lfg would get insanely long.
Why don’t you just go farm it? there are people who used 100~g in mats including me to get this and i would hate this change.
I always see comments like these when people suggest craft-related changes.
This +5 infusion upgrade should come from running the related dungeon, not from grinding gold for it.
Grinding for the cosmetic skin is fine.

I don’t mind if the cosmetic glowy skin of Fractal Capacitor (Infused) takes ecto to make, but the previous version should be obtainable using a bunch of relics and mist essences from fotm runs.
Rings have been recently changed to be acquired more easily, but now INFUSED backpacks need the same treatment.
Some of those skins are rising like crazy though.
I’d buy one right now if I was sure it wasn’t coming back in 9 months.
I know we’re still a year off, but can we get some sort of confirmation if the Haloween and Wintersday skins were indeed exclusive or not for 2012.
If so, which ones ?

I’m still waiting on purchasing the cultural T3 armor, because I heard rumors they might give them Ascended stats once Ascended armor is patched into the game.
They might just patch all current T3 with the stats, but my question is: what happens if I buy the armor set and transmute it ?
These are the kind of info I wish Anet would release soon, alongside Ascended weapon and stuff.
My only simple question:
How does it hurt Anet if they mail those with Deluxe purchases/upgrades the hat ?

I’ve even posted about this issue in BETA, and most people agreed.
Still no fix yet though. No comments from devs even.
Every freaking weapon/focus/shield model needs a size increase on Asura.
I agree with this only if some conditions are set up.
- you can only unlock a zone for the whole account if that zone is completed with one character
- unlocking a new zone for an alt should be done only by entering that zone through the portal with that alt
- a pop up window asking what to unlock: Do you want this zone to be unlocked for this character? yes/no. If yes, a new question will pop up: choose what things you want to leave locked: vistas, PoIs, hearts. No selection means all will be unlockedOnce one zone is completely unlocked for an alt, there won’t be any resets to the unlocked version making it a player’s choice and not a default feature
These are good because at one point in your game play, you want to feel you are actually doing something with that character. Re-seting hearts daily will be a mess because people will not really do more but just a few

Right now, I BARELY COMPLETE ANY HEARTS.
So your point makes no sense. I won’t do more because I’m forced.
The whole point is to have the map 100% for all alts if you’ve done it once.
For me, the worst and most demoralizing part of playing 4+ alts is seeing the empty, undiscovered world map, even after putting so much time uncovering it all.
For most of us who got 100% map completion, we don’t start alts to complete once again those POIs, Vistas, WPs, SPs and Hearts. We play them for a new class change, WvW, sPVP, dungeon running and sometimes farming.
I’m simply suggesting we have EVERYTHING uncovered account-wide with all alts, for also ease of map completion if someone can’t stick to a single main.
Here’s how to make this work:
- Add an option to reset any Hearts daily so alts can gain experience via them if they want. You click the filled heart, select “reset” and complete it for exp and reward. There’d be no abusing this since high level hearts hearts only give at most 1s per, and takes a few min to complete (+ it would be daily only).
- Give the full amount of uncovered Skill points from map completion to a starting alt. This would improve the ease of starting out alts with full power, although you still need level 30 for elite and such. To prevent people from starting alts to buy SP items from Miyami, have those items locked until the alt is level 80.
- Waypoints. There’s no reason I can think of to hide uncovered WPs from alts. Low level alts can’t gather high level materials since tools are level restricted. They’d also be one shotted if they try to warp into Orr for example.
- Now for the Gift of Exploration problem. Very simple answer. Have Miyami sell them for SP, Karma or whatever ONLY after you’ve 100%. Honestly, not many people will even use both free gift anyway.
Hope this suggestion gets put in.

Since some achievements can be done an infinite number of times, those 50(?) points are basically worthless. The GW2 achievement score is pretty dumb overall because of those infinite ones.
This. The value of gold is dictated by how hard it is to obtain within the game. If you make gold easier to obtain, prices will go up to compensate and adjust for inflation; this is basic economic theory.
The way I see it:
1 hr farming in Orr nets around 1g.
Dailies take about an hour for your average gamer.
Can be done ONCE per day.
Seems like equal value to me.
Most replies so far seems to be about inflation and TP prices.
Well, if Anet put a fixed price on pre-cursor, like 250g from a merchant, then this wouldn’t be a problem.
At the end of the month, you’d have around ~60g which is halfway there for a single set of cultural armor. Another ~4 months and you’d have a Legendary pre-cursor.
This would help casual gamers who only logs in for their dailies to earn something decent.
1.) Puts up an unfair advantage versus normal people who have to carry around many types of armor and weapons for different builds.
Buying all those 1g exotic weapons for different builds is nothing compared to the huge amount of gold/time spent on a legendary weapon.
A single weapon.
That guy will still need to buy the other weapon types if he wants to run other builds.
Seriously, this is a dumb reason to hate OPs idea.
It would be boring as hell to level an alt then, if a lot or everything was already done…imo.
All I do with alts are hearts anyway (I even skip the boring ones), and complete the personal story.
I got 100% map with my main, why would I waste precious time running around for those same Vistas, POIs, WPs ? They also barely give any exp.
This is one of those design decisions that would make it more “fun” playing alts, but we still got players thinking “alts = start from scratch”. Leveling the alt is fine, but the rest (Map completion, Karma, SP, etc.) needs to be account bound.
I was just about to make a post about this.
I’ve currently started on my alts after 2 months of running with my main Asura, and am a bit demoralized when I see the empty map I’ve worked hard to 100%.
I KNOW I could just skip the second map completion, but why isn’t this stuff account bound to make it more “fun”.
I’m guessing the problem lies with the map completion rewards.
Perhaps having only to complete all the heart’s and POI’s to get the map completion.
I’d accept a total Heart reset, but not POIs.
Vistas, WPs and Skill challenges shouldn’t be reset either.
Skill points should be Account bound IMO. It would fix the problem here too.
Am I supposed to keep these for future uses ?
Will I be able to scan post-Halloween ?
I have the complete Mad Memoires on all my alts, but the original incomplete Memoires are still in my bags. Will they be needed for upgraded versions later on ?
The only sad and annoying part about the precursor items is that they were cheap early on, and the people who bought some are the lucky ones.
Unfair for the rest of us.

(if you don’t want alts to get SP early on, then pool them together when they reach 80)
My biggest regret in GW2 is not having bought the precursor when they were under 20g.

I somehow thought they’d stay at those price range.
Really hope they change this part for crafting a legendary.
This is the only legendary crafting step I wish Anet would change someday.
Everything else can be farmed decently (long grind, but fair), but these exotic items are just insanely luck based, or controlled in the TP by other players.
Also considering I can barely find (or buy at a decent price) any exotics to even attempt dumping them in the Forge.
I’ve played my Asura since headstart and really love the little guy, but now at level 80 I’ve realized how sad most weapons look on him.
Greatswords look like Swords.
Swords look like Daggers.
Daggers look like toothpicks.
It’s hard to spend tokens/gold/karma on cool weapons because of how small it looks.
Simple Mini fix would be to disable the “Deposit all collectables” for them.
Keep the right-click “Send to bank” thing though.
Suggesting people to buy/craft invisible bags to keep minis from being sent to bank is pretty dumb.
I’ve suggested multiple times to make Karma and SP shared between all alts.
Gold should also be easily shared without having to use the bank. (like in Diablo 3)
The WP cost isn’t that bad.
You get those 2-4 silver back within an event or two.
I really hope you don’t warp non-stop on the same map, or wp to cities without using Lion’s Arch.
It’s a decent gold sink for the service it provides.
I’m just saying that personally, I’m extremely far from being bankrupt because of this.
They’re both considered endgame currency like tokens, so shouldn’t they be shared between all alts ?
At the very least make it shared once your alts reaches level 80.
Also, can you make Gold easily shared without having to use the bank ?
I got used to it in Diablo 3, and loved the feature.
Currently finished my second 100% this month (third if you count August), and it just reset yet again.
Should I expect a reset the first of October, or can I actually try and complete this September achievement a third time ?

It would be nice if you got a random gift say every 250 or 500.
Keys, coins or a bag gift with whatever.
I kind of disagree with OP, except for one thing:
Have all poi and vistas OUTSIDE of towers, forts and castles.
This way you wouldn’t have to change server or wait until your world takes over each and every structure in WvW.
I was told by guild to wait for Anet to fix the reward before completing “Victory or Death”.
Have they said anything on this issue though ?

I got 100% on the 29 of August.
Now 5 days into September, and my monthly hasn’t reset yet.
Some people in my guild got theirs reset, and they had completed the August one.
Should I send a support ticket ? That’s all I want to know.
