As i understand it Anet has a seperate devoted design team for raids so no you wouldent lose any resource there and as far as fractals are concenred id rather see more SAB
personaly i preffer my sab as a festival and not permanat content but i do agree that SAB needs more love in the form of more maps
cant help but feel like Anet has become realy lazy when it comes to there festavils since the end of season 2
wintersday halloween SAB all very good examples of how Anet has done absolutely nothing at all to progress any festival in any way they have become stagnent and unplayable for most veteran players because its the same @#*% we done last year and the year before that.

Moonyeti.3296 this is exactly the point i was makeing Sykper.6583 makes out Anet is all powerfull and can do anything they like with any any and all of the data at there disposal but we know otherwise thankfully there are laws in place keeping big companys like this in check
as to not knowing what is private and whats not i do know somethings we have a fundamental right to privacy on but allso feel like big companys like this blur the line and mess around in grey areas all the time
its like theres an invisible line most of us cant see and thats why i feel its important to question it

At some point you should start being reasonable
if i was a minority then yeah i should just get with the programe or gtfo but the player base is prety split in its opinion of dps meters guess this varys depending on the circles you run in
but rather than make an unpopular suggestion like saying lets ban dps metters im aiming for something to keep everyone happy. As it stands Anet has made an unpopular decision and has offended some of us by allowing this intrusive form of squad monitoring equaly some are prety happy being given dps meters and would be unhappy if they where taken away
i dont realy see many options on the table and think my suggestion would be the simplest way to go other than changeing policy to only allow dps meters that calculate personal dps or shares info via networking like BDGM

depsite what you think Anet like any other company its policys need to be in acordance with the law and it dosent matter what country you live in they all have laws to protect your privacy thats why Anet has such a thing as a privacy policy in the first place and it is not just something they made up as they went along it is based on law’s that even they must follow

Anet are not the all powerfull company you piant them out to be they do not have total control over my private info and canot do anything they like with it as you claim
OniGiri.9461 BDGM sounds like the kinda dps meter i can get behind its not intrusive and by downloading it consent is esentialy given
ARC DPS seems to be the main dps meter out there that is reading info from Anets servers based on what previous users have posted just what info im unsure on or if it considerd public data or private
theres nothing wrong with wanting to question this and better understand it coz only a fool blindly follows
no doubt like other users have stated we have given consent for Anet to use that info via the ToS we agreed to as i said before im not niave enough to think Anet has not thugroughly looked in to this beforehand and coverd there ases.
reguardless of the legality of it all it will not change how me and certain other players feel on the matter that it is an invasion of privacy and you can tell us its not all you like we will still feel the same way. id just like to see some consideration given to those of us who feel this way and a choice not to share that information seems like the best way to establish some sort of middle ground
to me giveing arc dps the green light is like seting up a sort of survailance culture in the game and its a fact that being spied on makes you feel uncomfortable if your feeling uncomfortable it can and most likely will negatively afect your performance and mood.
When i come home from work and log in to the game this is not how i want to be made to feel any time i join a pug. This is supposed to be my recreation time where i can relax not be put on edge coz someone is monitoring my every move.
I have to wonder how a judge would rule if you argued this was an invasion of privacy either under the Data rights protection act or the telecomunications act 2013 or even human rights act article 8 i.e my right to privacy in my conumications
not that im planing legal action but i do feel these dps meters skirt close to the edge in a grey area

i may have chosen my words poorly when i said MOST but there are certainly dps meters out there that let you see each and every players indavidual dps in a fight i know this coz i raid witch is where players are useing them for the most part
Pifil.5193 i cant say for sure witch ones allow squad monitoring coz i dont agree with them i have never looked for a dps meter of any sort but im sure someone can tell you
Miku.6297 you are probobly right that players who chose to use such a feature would encounter those negative situations but at the same time i think it would reveal the huge devide in how players feel about being monitored like that and the end result would be compromises on both sides of the fence
while not ideal its probably better than the curent situation witch removes choice from the equasion
lucadiro.4519 the dps meeter your useing is just one of many that are currently permited and they dont all work like that most other DPS meters allow you to see everyone in your party/raid’s DPS reguardless of what they have installed
i think the big thing that alot of you who support dps meters dont get is that to me and many other players this feels like an intrusive method of survailance theres a huge diferance between that and linking how many li you have or being judged on your AP
Its the feeling of being constantly under survailance you join a pug you dont know who is or is not runing a dps meter it makes me feel realy uncomfortable
I’ve heard there are some dps meters out there that require everyone in party haveing the same software installed and networked together to share acurate dps scores i cant understand why Anet would not support that kind of dps meter instead of the ones we have atm
at least that way its opt in kinda thing and i can choose ot give my consent to share data

simple question anyone know if theres a way to stop players from useing dps meters on me as i am fundamentaly against them so much so that im seriously thnking of quiting the game because i dont like being policed like this in my recreation time
