Store Masks Don't Match Preview on Charr

This is a Charr issue. Many head pieces do not line up with the eyes. It is pretty bad, and a year of it seems to give the impression it is here to stay. I’d go to support and just get a refund instead and never buy head items for you Charr.

Gem Store Won't Work (yes, relogged)

Something is wrong when I press “O”. The normal gem store comes up but nothing loads. Stays a dark brown. The other tabs DO work. The gem conversion, the TP, etc. But the first tab, Gem Store, won’t. If I mash the Home button, it’ll sometimes flash ERROR: Invalid Authorization (like the good old days of launch)

My computer was turned off, turned on, and still the same issue. 2 days now. I did have an error message pop up that another device was using the same IP as my computer. So I looked up how to reset my IP and still not working….

Any ideas?

The Living Story... Died?

in Flame and Frost

Actually, the deadline was announced with the introduction of the previous chapter.

Actually, there was a wrong deadline.

This caused confusion.

1) People had a month for past Living Story. People assumed the pattern would hold, especially since the most content was in the last patch (and shortest lived) and the previous content was non-existent (walk around for 30 min is not content).
2) The posted Deadline was the 16th. And the 14th. And the 12th…. See a problem there? Past large patches happen on Tuesdays. This was in the middle of the day on a Sunday. Mother’s Day…..
3) This is bad design. Feedback has been given since day 1. Players like a persistent world that changes and advances, but they want the means to not miss content. Instancing content already exists. Not used. Why? Plot device for traveling in time already exists. Not used. Why?

What about Ottilia and "Whetstone"?

in Flame and Frost

Unless I’m missing something big somewhere… there are this 2 big matters that are left unresolved.

- Ottilia, the girl Braham is looking for is still missing. We haven’t been told anything after that NPC in the Facility told Braham they should talk about it later, but now we’re at the celebration and we don’t have a clue of what exactly happened with her.

- With “Whetstone” I mean that Rox is supposedly finishing the tests to enter Rytlock’s Stone Warband, and that arenanet refered at her as Rox Whetstone in a post (though the Whetstone part was later removed, probably it was a “too soon” problem) clearly indicating her admission in the warband, but that is still unresolved.

Now we’re going to jump to a different storyline, branching from the F&F one but that will focus on different matters. It feels like Braham and Rox’s chapters are left unresolved without knowing what happens with Ottilia at the end and having the official announcement of Rox’s admision (and we wouldn’t know that she indeed is admitted without that accidental inclussion of her new lastname, despite most of us would’ve guessed it anyway, so supposedly we need an ingame announcement for that).

Is there going to be some sort of final cinematic during the 14th? Or those storylines will be left and we will know more after the Southsun storyline? And btw what about that arch-nemesis we would learn about during the celebration?

Bad design.

The story timing is horrible. The way it built up was:
“genocide is happening! Oh noes!”
wait around a few months while people are slaughtered
“Ok, we are ready to stop this!”
everyone is dead

Cliff-hangers are fine when done well.

These are just plot holes because 2 people (only 2 people!!!) sat in a room for two 8-hour shifts and made up a *year’s worth of content….

If that doesn’t send up alarm bells about how future “stories” will be, I don’t know what will. Seems like being in the middle of bad awkward role-playing….

Really don't like these deadlines

If you can’t get on for an hour in a period of 2 weeks for the dungeon, or for 5 min in a period of 4 days for the finale, you really shouldn’t be worrying about missing out on the content. Guild Wars 2 is obviously not a big enough part of your life to warrant a complaint. If you really think GW2 content is such an important thing in your life, perhaps you should restructure your life around GW2. I mean, it can’t be THAT hard to log on once to do this content. However if you don’t think it’s worth restructuring your life, then you should just be enjoying the things that you have in your life that you think are more worthwhile spending your time on. It is a role-playing game, and if you’re lucky enough to have a role in your real life that’s worth playing, you should be happy with that and not trying to fit in a second life. I WISH I could complain about not having time to play games

And that means ALL the new content is invalid for those type of players and they get nothing.

The new content, the new items, are only available for a short time. So people have all the time in the world to play when they want for the normal content (which is about 30 days worth of content and done—you just beat the game and have nothing to do).

The new stuff is out of reach.

The game can easily keep persistence in the world AND allow people to back track. We have reality warping Asura to add any plot device, like say… a giant virtual reality video game inside a D&D themed world… (if that fits into the game lore, then time travel for past achievements is perfectly valid).

Fractuals are pieces of reality and time. If we can revisit GW1 during the Searing, we can surely revisit GW2

Highly disappointed by the end of F&F

See the pattern yet?

Halloween, Lost Shores, Xmas, Molten Alliance. Anet listens to our feedback by pushing the limits on what they can milk from consumers.

They deserve to make money off cosmetic items. But we deserve to be able to guarantee our purchase. We are getting some freebies, some time sinks, some direct buys, and then we get the obvious “you will not get this unless you spend $100 in our gem store~or more. Good luck on your RNG adventures.”

There was a reason people were willing to spend $100+ on other MMO accounts for rare items. There were actual people out there willing to pay for that.

Most of us wouldn’t. But Anet can make enough from 1 such customer to cover 20-30 of us “normal” players—players who spend minimally to nothing. We complain? Who cares. We weren’t going to spend $100 on them this week. Bob though IS and he is happy to have the rare jetpack. He’ll buy another $200 gems next week too.

How I see it.

What is the Molten Jetpack droprate?

If this is the future of GW2 content, count me out.

Pretty much. They need to stop abusing rng. Either that, or middle finger to this sodding game.

They can see our accounts (Anet) and see how we are true to our word.

Crap content comes out that is restricted to unemployed and whale-type consumers, and they see that I have not been playing like I was last year.

This “Living Story” was my final test for them. The slow boring kitten start, (seriously takes 3 months for the Charr to declare war? bull), the drawn out nothingness of the content, and the finale with should have been the first patch months ago. There was no reason to drawn the content out. Instead, we should have had these months to do all of the content.

I had 12 days to get into the Molten Fac. Sorry, but I work and play games on my leisure time. I don’t live at the keyboard. I can’t afford to. Every 2-3 weeks is when I have freetime to truly play. This game does not cater to me. That drop rate was far too gone for me to even have a chance. Luck is not a game I play.

WoW, in all its cartoony garishness at least allowed me to get the special events done on the day I could play and I got my reward. Or the drop rates were high enough to logically say “I can get this after 20 or so runs”. Or, “this is really really rare… I might need to try next year”. All were valid.

GW2 though is a one-off that benefits those who manipulate the market. My friend is one of the ones manipulating the market. Buys low, hold the items, marks them up, sells high. He’s in my guild. Has stock piles of Halloween Tonics, SAB weapons, and now the Jetpack and Jetpack mini….

You don’t need to be good at the game. Anet designed it to be greedy. You need to be greedy to get what you want, OR you need to spend money to buy gold, through Anet of course….

Want to earn it through hard work? Diminishing Returns is there for you! Anet will stop you dead to force the gem store to work its magic….

Anet doesn’t seem to learn from the past that people want to earn things (Bauble Bubbles allowed this) and not fight RNG (Gem Store Keys are crap). All these sonic periscopes and mementos should have bought us our skins (like 1000 or whatever of them) if we weren’t lucky enough to get a drop.

Or our Laurels for the month the content is available in…

The only way I can honestly look at Anet as not a greedy money grab is if they make the time travel aspect in the Fractals of the Mists allow revisiting old content annually in a special “timey wimey” event. Imagine every Aug or so during the anniversary they have an Asura or Charr engineer messing around for 2 weeks, and you have that amount of time to attempt missed achievements or wait until next year.

Content is still “special” in that it isn’t repeating in the “world”, but it allows a short time for people to jam everything in the game into 1 time period. And, by the sheer amount, people would have to choose. “I can only do Halloween and Molten Alliance, and won’t have time for Toxx during the event.”

I mean seriously, how hard is it to make unique content but not screw over your playerbase forever time and again…. lots of solutions, and no action toward them.

Guesting for double daily World Boss chests.

Yep. Got screwed out of my own server. It would be nice to triple steal the chests with the increased loot like the others, but I don’t have time to hop around looking for open spots. I only have time to attempt the chests twice on my home server…. but get booted to overflows…. my time and travel and such wasted.

Of course, this thing won’t be fixed in regards to letting those of us on the short end of the stick get compensation. It’ll just be a “good while it lasted” thing for those abusing it.

I’m just not going to play. My account activity will be non-existent for a while. For my time limits, and what I want to do, the game is unplayable. Again.

Guesting Gives Strangers Priority

I wanted to do the now limited Dragon event for Teq on MY server Tarnished Coast with my friends.

I get directed to an over-flow.

I click “join party members”.

Get a note that MY server is full.

Who is it full with? The event is now limited to once a day…..

Guesting.

These constant oversights are very tiring to the players. It would help to test patches before implementation with the large numbers that make up a normal server, not some small limited team that’ll never see how the content really functions. You can’t test a drop of the ocean to say there are no whales….

A fix, kick Guests out when normal players, who belong on their server, wish to play on their server.
