These stats work with a necro who will have the train that gives a 66% chance to apply a bleed on crit. It’s perfect actually. More chance to crit which means greater chance to apply additional bleeds which do more damage from the condition damage. I guess it depends on your class.

I find that the fine infusions are a monumental joke. Stick to the versatile 5 ar infusion for 75 relics from the golem. I don’t think 5 points in anything will make any kind of difference, especially at that insane price.

I know I’m not the only person that’s encountered this extremely frustrating bug. It happens when you are running and trying to pick up an item. You end up getting stuck running forward instead unable to do anything. Mostly this isn’t an issue, but on a fight like jade maw where the entire fight involves running to crystals to pick them up, it becomes an extremely glaring problem. Many unavoidable deaths occur as a result. Is there anything being done to fix this?

It falsely inflates the time to finish the fractal and it sucks. It’s not fun or challenging, it’s just frustrating and annoying. It’s like getting caught or traffic or getting stuck in mud on your way to work. It’s not more difficult getting to work, it’s just takes longer and is extremely frustrating.

Rabsovich takes way too long to kill.

On a good day, I can beat swamp fractal in the same time it takes to kill this one mini boss. It’s not that he’s even difficult. If anything, he’s mindnumbingly easy. The problem is the sheer drudgery involved in killing him. His HP is extremely high and he has his shield stance that artificially inflates the time it takes to kill him. Additionally, you have to deal with a very large amount of trash adds either before or after you kill Rabsovich.

And what do you get out of it? A handful of relics and some 50 copper worth of vendor trash blue/green items. The power suit/elemental can be killed faster and that gives you a chest with a large number of blue/green/rare items.

I’d love to see either his hp cut by around 20% or the amount of adds you have to kill reduced drastically. Cutting his hp would be preferable since the adds drop heavy mining bags which are far more useful than the nonsense he drops.

Am I alone in my misery?

You can play how you want, dont expect to clear all content however you want. Else I wish I could do all dungeons solo w/o wearing exotics cause its how I want.

Well I don’t know if anybody is expecting to clear dungeons solo. Being able to play the profession of your choice is a different story however. Not being forced to go tank/healer/damage and playing your favorite profession is supposed to be one of the selling points of the game over a game like, I dunno, WoW.

Another MF hate thread.

Really, it’s more about the person’s skill than their missing stat. I don’t care how bad a person is, that extra stat isn’t going to miraculously make them play better and be a bigger asset to the team.

I know people who could run a dungeon w/o any armor and wouldn’t hinder a team one bit. They are just that good.

Quit complaining about stats, start focusing on the real issue.. the quality of the player.

Except it does drastically reduce damage. Sometimes killing a boss 30% quicker can be the difference between success and failure.

Dredge gets reset because ice elemental IS a problem. Cliffside gets reset because it has no business being as long as it is for a fractal.

The agony is extremely difficult to dodge. The shield phase is way more difficult than it needs to be. The burning that automatically gets applied to you if you stop for a second makes trying to rez people an awful affair (you can remove it, but it applies again a second later). People regularly reset if this is the first fractal to come up. Doesn’t that tell you that something isn’t quite right with this encounter?

The keys and chests are obviously a ploy to get people to buy them for gems. However, there is an easy way to get a guaranteed key every time. All you have to do is level an alt to 7 or so and do the level 10 story quest. The reward is always some junk and a black lion key. Can be done unlimited times so long as you keep making alts.

Please remove tonics from dungeon chests.

Nobody wants these things. You can’t even give them away. They drop from chests and they take up what could have been a rare item slot. There is no reason for these trash items to drop from the boss chests. Why not move them to randomly drop from trash instead?

I like flames sigil, but the superior is extremely expensive. Superior sigil of air, while not as good as flames, is much much cheaper and I like it. 5% critical is pretty good too. I find that I have no trouble getting to 25 stacks even without a might sigiil.

They would have to change the legendary’s so they don’t suck. at BEST they are only like 2-3% better than a 2g exotic.

Which is why I thought of special effects only found on the weapons. The base stats could be the same, but the special effects in addition to the unique skins could be the appeal.

Even WoW can’t entirely be blamed. They had the right idea for a few of these weapons. Thunderfury was a good example or even the staff from the original nax and shadowmourne. Even the warglaives were cool. There wasn’t a quest behind them, but they only dropped from the guy that actually used them. While those weapons got progressively easier to obtain as the game continued on, they at least had a cool story behind them.

No you are not. I loved the epic feel of Everquest’s way of obtaining the legendary. It was no easy goal to obtain these weapons, and once obtained it felt so EPIC that it molds that moment into your memory. The quests themselves were truly legendary, and the outcome was always glorious.

I’m glad I’m not the only one!

I was thinking of a few ideas for some truly legendary weapons. I would leave the exact stats to better minds than my own, but I had some thoughts on some cool effects.

Final Hour – Dagger
Quest: A long quest to unravel a plot behind political assassinations aimed at the factions top leaders.
Stats: Power, precision, condition damage.
Effect: Master poisoner – Applied poison also grants an additional effect based on a targets conditions. For example: Bleeds do 30% more damage, cripple effect has 40% greater slow, burning does an additional 3% of the targets maximum hp per second., blindness causes the target to miss an additional attack, ect.

Sanguine Blade – Sword
Quest: A demonic cult is threatening to destroy all of tyria!
Stats: Power, precision, condition damage.
Effect: Vampiric blade- bleeds applied while this weapon is wielded heal the player for 10% of the damage dealt.

The Wall – Shield
Quest: The exploration of the ruins of an ancient order of guardians reveals a dormant evil that could awaken at any time.
Stats: Vitality, toughness, Boon duration
Effect: Legendary defender- blocking with this shield grants protection, retaliation, and regeneration to friendly targets within x distance.

Dark Whisper: Scepter
Quest: An ancient orrian cult holds the secrets to untold power for the person willing to solve the mysteries of the past.
Stats: Vitality, power, condition damage.
Effect: Grenth’s dark blessing – Allows the wielder of this weapon to exceed the maximum condition limit on a target. (a necro could apply additional bleeds past the 25 limit on a target, but only the wielder of the weapons bleeds would actually exceed the limit.)

The current system for obtaining legendary weapons doesn’t feel very legendary at all. It’s basically a massive timesink requiring farming the TP or farming other things for endless hours in order to craft a legendary weapon. The worst part are the precursors which you are forced to obtain either through total rng or through buying one off the TP with their steadily rising prices as people continue to manipulate the market.

Now compare this to Everquest. In the first expansion of EQ, each class had access to a quest for an epic weapon. The weapons had a unique look and effects and often the best stats that made them well worth the effort to obtain. The quest to obtain this weapon would require a large amount of effort and no small amount of time to complete. It spanned the entire world and sometimes even extra planar areas, and often the quest was started very early in your career. It was something you worked for from a low level all the way up to your max level. It required the movements of entire guilds to complete and got whole communities involved. When a player finally completed their epic quest, everybody knew it and you were proud to show it off because it was a major accomplishment.

The best part of these quests were the story behind each of them. Rather than buying your weapon off of an auction house, you got invested in the story behind obtaining it. My personal favorite was the paladin. Your holy blade could only be obtained after cleansing a cursed weapon and redeeming the soul of a fallen paladin. Your reward was the holy sword, Fiery Defender, a flaming greatsword that fit the theme of the class perfectly and was instantly recognizable.

Other good examples were the rangers Swiftwind and Earthcaller which involved cleansing the world of the corruption brought on by an evil god or the shadow knight’s Innoruuk’s Curse which has you corrupting the holy blades of the paladin class. Sounds pretty legendary, right?

After a time, these weapons became obsolete as new content with stronger items were released. The exception being weapons like the bards singing short sword and the clerics resurrect mace which always served a purpose. Everquest’s answer to this was to release epic weapons 2.0. These were new epic quests that not only required the same amount of incredible effort, but they also required your original epic weapons. Again, your investment of time and work paid off.

This is how you do legendary “right”. These weapons should have stories. Make them drop off of specific high level bosses or tie them to long quest chains that would take you around the world. Heck, you could even use them to get people back into the dungeons you lovingly designed.

As it stands, legendaries are just a legendary pita. Am I alone in my thinking?

Why are 20 slots so cost inefficient?

why does an exotic weapon cost 4g while a rare weapon costs 30s? it only adds another like 10% effect (equivalent bag slots going from 18 to 19.8)
and why does +5 AR on an ascended back piece cost 250 ecto (plus some other things)?
because there would be no reason to have 18 slot bags at all if 20 slot bags cost just a bit more. and no reason to have 15 slot bags if 18 slot bags cost just a bit more. and you get the idea.

Exotics are often precursors to legendary weapons. Also, you can get exotics for free from tokens. With one level 80, you can have an exotic weapon in 2 days. 5 agony resist also increases your survival by an immense amount. It is absolutely required to survive high level fractals. Also, I think most people would probably agree that it actually does cost way too much.

20 slot bags are just 20 slot bags. You hold 2 more unique item slots for an 8 gold increase. A more reasonable number would be 4 or even 5 gold. It’s a 400% increase in cost for a 10% increase in capacity. I’m sorry, but there is no justification for it.

You should buy the ones from FotM. They are only 150 fractal relics, which is only a couple of runs. The crafted versions are way to costly.

That’s my point. I am questioning why it has such an uncalled for leap up in price.

For those of you that don’t know, the rune required for a 20 slot bag costs 10 gold. The rune for an 18 slot bag only costs 2 gold. It costs 8 gold to gain 2 slots. What gives? It’s not like it’s a status thing. Nobody can see what bags you are using. It grants you a total of 8 extra slots for 36 more gold than simple 18 slotters. I don’t get it.

It doesn’t feel like it’s a skill thing. Half the time you can’t or can barely see an indicator that the knockback is coming because the indicator is bigger than the platforms so it disappears into the air. It’s just tortuous and makes the fractal frustrating and tortuous.

Magician in Everquest was the best. You could summon all sorts of crap, including(especially) pets. I wish some MMO would bring that kind of class back.

I’d be happy if they just lowered the cost a bit. I shouldn’t have to pay more than a silver to travel within a zone. In fact, it should be free to travel within the zone like it is in cities and cost X silver to travel to points outside of your current zone.

The outmanned and orb buffs need to switch effects.

A lot of people, myself included, have suggested this. The current buff seems like a bad joke. It encourages people to ignore the fight even more and go farm the moas that are running around.

LFG Tool? Hope not…better add a new channel people can join if they like. One-button already exist in most MMORPG, most people play here since it’s different.

Actually, I think it’s a vocal minority that are so against a group finder while most people quietly wonder why there isn’t something so basic in the game already. Most people were over sitting outside of dungeons and spamming chat back in 1999 with Everquest. I think most people would rather be out, I don’t know, playing the game. Finding a group should be easy while the dungeons themselves remain difficult. They force cooperation and tactics. Spamming one channel with the same message until you can scrape together a group isn’t being social, it’s just a waste of time.

Even when they fix arrow cart retaliation damage, I think you’ll find that arrowcarting a stack of 25 people is spreading the damage too thin.

As far as I know, arrowcarts are limited to 5 people per attack just like everything else. They do multiple overlapping circles so you get a lot of numbers but there are people standing in that pile not getting hit because of the AE limitation.

And even disregarding that, arrow cart damage isn’t THAT high. With my level 80 engineer, I intentionally stand in arrow cart rains with retaliation running. Light field + multiple blasts gives me about 14 seconds of retaliation, plus I get another 10 seconds from my elixir B. I run out of retaliation before I run out of health. (Granted, 5 arrow carts would be another story but presently they all die to retaliation anyway. “No ETA” on that fix, so it could be like this until 2013 for all we know.)

Arrow carts also have the side effect of moving the enemy team since they will quickly drop what they are doing to get out of the AoE. The warriors bow burst and similar skills have the same effect. With smart aiming, it’s possible to direct the flow of the Zerg or halt its advancement entirely.

Thieves are very fast and make ideal scouts and guerilla capture squads. They are pretty bad at front like fighting, but are incredibly useful for sneaking around and cutting off supply lines and taking camps. Most rangers I see are corpses.

What ever happened to players actually fighting eachother using their own skills. It would be nice if siege weapon locations were limited to walls and courtyards

Because skill won’t matter much when the enemy has twice as many players as you. If anything, they showed skill by setting up equipment there. It’s called making a stand and sometimes it’s all you can do to try to hold off the Zerg.

I believe reinfOrced walls get safe spots built into them for people to duck in and out f cover. Also, right now siege equipment takes retaliation damage which is a major problem and makes powerful defensive items like arrow carts somewhat useless. They are fixing that soon, hopefully.

Easy group finding does not equal easy dungeons. Getting a group together should be simple while the dungeon still requires communication and tactics. Nothing wrong with a lfg tool if the challenge is still there and this is coming from an old school mmo player that started with Everquest.
