What solo q need: voice chat

Mostly of the time I see that I need to win games:

- Coordination in teamfights (chain cc, remove condition aoe, rip boon in the right sec, etc )
- Move accordingly to the enemy team (outnumber instead of being outnumbered, etc)

Most of the time the main issues are the lack of communication between me and my teammates, they are playing their game and I have mine, and this just don’t work.
I love this game and so far i can say that the skill factor is definitively under the teamplay.(capture-point mode lock this)
Adding a voice chat would fill a lot of the gap between solo q and team q in my opinion.

This will never happen and i hope this will also never happen.
When people aren’t smart enough to read first, before they buy things, then this is just their punishment for not being smart enough to learn first, what the term UNIQUE means in GW2, that you can wear unique items only ONCE per character and that this, if a smart person can count 1+1 together naturally has to mean automatically, that buying an uniqiue item for a character 2 times means wasting laurels!!

OMG, this is absolutely not the first thread of this kind of angry reaction, cause of people being too stupid to read first about what they buy…

When will people finally get it, that Anet will never refund anything like laurels, only because of people not being intelligent enough to read first, before they buy??

This kind of suggestion is like the same thing, as like saying, Anet should refund given out Gold, because someone bought something, that a character can’t wear, ignoring the fact that the Anet clearly stated from begin on, that GW2 will have 3 different armor types and in the game from begin on, players get shown with red texts, if some armor can’t be used with a specific class type, later out of these stupidity problems of people being unable to read, anet changed even all armor icons by addign just everywhere red attention marks (!) to show people, if an item could be used with a specific character, or not …

Wow, sorry, if I surely sound now harsh ‘n’ rude here now, but these kinds of threads kind of kitten me off somehow…
What kind of “right” do certain people believe to have here, that they are thinking that they deserve to have the right to get their given out laurels/gold ect. back, when the situation their are in is CLEARLY ABSOLUTELY THEIR VERY OWN FAULT???

I don’t get it, what these kind of people are thinking and in which kind of “reality” they seem to live in … seems to be some kind of other parallel world, where right and wrong seem to be total different >.>

What are you talking about? is a game if i need to go on the wiki or on follow a guide for every item that i buy i lose part of the fun, i play for some carefree moments.

Anyway i could cite a definition from the study, according to Reason, of interfaces and errors related to them that would remove any doubt, but i have to find it and is boring.

I am in similar situation. I have bought 2 ring with same name and i cant equip both. I cant belive i have wasted 35 laurels because of that.

Did you contact support? They exchanged items for another one in cases people didn’t understand the meaning of unique in the past.

There is no point of doing it, in that case the vitality will win the fight.(still hard to count because the toughness-rabid amulet gains precision very helpful for procs, which every condition class have it)
But this is not the point of the discussion, with the state of the game right now i think in teamfights the flat damage is a cut above condition damage because the accessibility of condition removal aoe.

1) Random map with the lock on the character (right now anyone can switch character in the middle of a tourney)

I want to focus on “nobody plays hybrid” and that for my prospective is the main issue that holding me back to play hybrid.
There are 2 purely defensive stats in this game vitality and toughness (i’m not considering healing because is kinda half supportive, still is very good defensive sustain-tool but that is another topic) and after playing for a while and studying the game i reach a point of view: toughness is nice but vitality is horrible.

I think most of the people already knows but this is the explanation:


Toughness = increase armor = mitigation to direct damage
Vitality = extra hp pool

So here is an example in the both situation (generic duel):

15000 hp pool
35% +- damage reduction
1)my enemy hit me with a lot of stuff for 10’000 unmitigated damage -> 6’500 damage effective
using my heal restores 6000 hp
= 14’500 hp left
2)damage for 15’000 converted in 9750 post mitigation
= 4750 hp left
--—————
Vitality
20’000 hp pool
10% +- damage reduction
1)20’000 – (10’000-10%) + 5000 = 16’000 hp left
2)16’000 – (15’000-10%) = 2500 hp left

If i manage to just get the second cast of the healing ability the gap grow incredibly.


What happens in many of the duel I’ve tried is that when i’m hybrid i can’t resist enough time to use for the second time the heal.

This numbers are not precise, just a try to explain that the self heal ability scale itself with the mitigation, and this is a mechanic (and vitality has not mechanic).

That’s it whenever i try to build an hybrid i still feeling glassy but i don’t do enough burst to be compared with other glass cannon so there are no way to chose carrion in the place of rampager or knights in the place of berserker.


So the main question is: how to buff vitality?

This is my answer:

Replace some traits on 25 points for all classes of the form “10% damage more <condition>” with “eludes +-15% of the armor <condition>”


Because right now the traits at 25 points are all obsessed about stacking 10% more damage (<condition>) all are less interesting than those at 5 and 15 and this make no sense.

In this way on toughness based character the damage will be the same but the vitality based character can see a better days.
Also is quite a obvious than thief and warrior with their skills in combat should be able to hit through the armor.

Another way to buff vitality can be the replace the current flat heal with a heal percent based scaling with flat amount of healing i’m not a big fan of this idea but still is a solution.

My suggestion (just some ideas, not complaining on the balance):

Leg Mods: No more backpedal penalty.
Armor Mods: Every 8 hit taken the 9’ is blocked.
Packaged simulator: You cannot take you medkit from the ground. Every med kit you drop you are healed for the half amount that med kit will heal.
Speedy Gadgets: 20% recharge and breakstun.

Just make the last trait line more cooler. what should be.
I’m agree with the 5’ and 15’ of the explosive are kind of weird but at 10’ and 20’ you can take really big traits so for me is not a big deal.

Edit:Actually i like evasive powder keg in pvp for the ability to take off blind

I have another problem, when i try to use the combo big ol’ bomb (or supply create) + smoke for stealth me if the bomb hit someone the stealth triggers before the damage then i’m “revealed”,
and this happens only with big ol’ bomb.

That’s true of every blast finisher. Or at least all Engineer ones and Cluster Bomb on Thief (the 2 most easily tested classes since they have smoke fields).

This isn’t true, with shield 4 i can stealth myself hitting people without problem and the skill deal damage (a tiny damage but still damage), same with blast of healing turret.

Edit: seems that for certatin skills the blast trigger before the damage, so as to cancel the stealth immediatly after.

Feedback bubble with no target make me cry

The main reason i took this utility is for groupfight an is extremely annoying tabbing a hiding thief/mesmer and throw the bubble in the middle of nowhere.
A cool way to fix that maybe is just spawn the bubble on my position.
I don’t know but i’m feeling uncomfortable with this utility, work great 90% of the time but still can improve

Fast Ground Targeting Improvement

When I try to use a skill and ground targeting the mouse is over the hud of the target, the skill is cast on my position.
I’m not sure if is from desingn, but i get mad when i am missing a crucial mersmer’s blink just because the mouse is crossing the edge of the target.
Can be adjusted making the movable target or by passing through the hud.
I’m pretty presure i’m not alone
