The new changes to the Tempest are in keeping with the overall philosophy of the Elementalist; squishy and high DPS. It also allows the ele to play as a healer and other group support (e.g. might). I really liked the changes and make the profession much more survivable, like shorter casting times.

I’ve played my Ele as my main for years. Being a squishy target that does huge DPS is the fun of the class. I agree with funeralfun.9135, This is not fun and flies in the face of what makes an Ele fun to play!
I agree some of my WOW friends were complaining that there was no dedicated healer, There should at least be that option, and it should be rewarded.
It seems not as effective, and it’s the only skill that makes this class playable. It still doesn’t do enough damage with the bow.
Anet, wake up, are you listening to this, if you build it they will come.
No one has given me a technical reason you couldn’t have a server just for guesting in. You would just need all three databases, or input from the same, in the same sever would be my guess.

Has anyone made a character on two different accounts, on two different servers on the same computer? I don’t look forward to starting a level 1 character, but I’ll do it if I have to.
I have. My main is on a NA server and I had an alt account on an EU server for a while before I switched it to NA. Same computer.
Thanks, I may try that. Did you have to install the game again, or have two different email accounts?
That doesn’t make sense, if you can do a WvW server that both can guest into, why couldn’t you do a world server?
You can’t guest and play on a WvW server. You can only play on your home server’s WvW.
Yeah, but why couldn’t you make it a world server that Europeans could visit; if you can do it for a tournament, why can’t you do it all the time?

I have a friend in Europe and I’m in the US, I want to play with her. I suggest that you make a neutral server with no access to PvE or WvW that we can both guest into.
The biggest problem with the new trait is that its boring. For those of us who imagined the Ele wielding a sword, this is a great disappointment. I would redo the whole concept. At least dagger/dagger is exciting to play. This is not, it changes the whole concept of the high DPS/low armor excitement that is the Ele.
I also enjoyed the map immensely. I got frustrated at several points as to whether something was up or down and I run around in circles looking for where to go. which was frustrating, particularly at first. It took forever to find my guild-mates.
I also never seemed to advance beyond the first 2 skill points, I would find icons on the map with nothing there. And, I participated in all kind of events and never made a skill point or a level. I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, or if it was a bug.
There were a few areas along the edge of a cliff, where you could fall part way, then be stuck. There would be vines and such that it looked like you could jump onto, but you would just die instantly.
All and all, I thought the environment was beautiful, and I really enjoyed the map.
I don’t known if this was intentional, but I could only create humans.
I colored my armor. After I hit “Apply” the armor appeared to revert to it’s original colors. When I closed the hero screen, the colors had been changed.
Mumble + SweetFX will keep the game from initializing. Even with the latest versions.
So while millions of people can get along with these things just fine, I have to hope that no MMO I want to play ever goes fully into must-have-headset design.
That never ends well.
It ended well for Kirito, if I remember correctly. [World of Swords].
I ordered the developer’s kit. I will try to get it working with GW2. Maybe we could do this as a group project, anyone have good programing skills?
I’m skeptical about the Rift for my use. I am quite nearsighted and haven’t worn contacts for years, so I have rather thick glasses. Hooray for technology, they aren’t bottle-thick, but they do stick out on each side of the lens frame. Peripheral vision is somewhat limited for me as a result.
Also, I can’t even deal with the most “comfortable” headsets. They pinch my ears over my glasses earpieces and in a few minutes I am in great pain. Earbuds are hideous for me as well, I loathe jamming anything in my ears.

I know it will adjust to accommodate glasses. It also has three sets of lenses to help those that are nearsighted.

Interact key not working through keyboard or mouse. Client repair doesn’t fix the problem. Adding another key to the command doesn’t work either.
This could be integrated with the Sixense Razer Hydra, and we can abandon reality altogether. You can be Blizzard is looking at these technologies.

This is the newest virtual reality technology seen at CES. I highly recommend that it be looked at for GW2. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2013/01/18/some-early-reactions-to-the-oculus-rift-virtual-reality-headset/
