Somebody suggested a dodge effect for the rev and now it got it. Why? Cause it looks cool and nothing else.

i hope you mean a dodge effect like thief has that weird blurred line/noise when they evade.
i’m not sure what all this talk of condition removal supports cleansing you harmed you is about. the way I see it, the condis on you will do damage. whilst they’re on, sure you’re stronger, but you can’t constantly have a full row of conditions on you or you’ll die. you can copy them to your enemies, but as far as I knew this didn’t remove them.
all they need to do is make it so condi’s can’t be cleansed whilst in Embrace the Darkness, giving a choice to the masochistic Malyx rev’s of ’i’ll sit this whole row of condi’s and pop my heal skill/etc. so I can copy them back to the enemy and get the damage buff’ and whilst they’re not going full Demon monkey mode, they can be cleansed like everyone else.
Why would you use UA skill off cooldown anyway. I barely used it every 20 seconds.
Mallyx is still good for PvP along with Jalis and Shiro. Don’t be so dramatic. This is turning in to the ranger forum – the way everyone’s saying: “Poor us. Life is so unfair”.
this man speaks sense. although I don’t agree with the malyx changes and feel it takes a lot of flavour away from the class, it’s still beta. if it’s weak in pvp, it will be buffed. Trust in Roy.

tbh, for the sake of pvp and the shield not being super-niche, I have to agree with the suggestion to lower the heal a lot and allow us to move.
Personally I’m a PvE’r so I don’t mind this. But when I do pvp, I’m usually going for the condition builds. The malyx playstyle seemed quite interesting and fit it’s theme very well. Now I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be other than just another condition applying build.
i agree with OP, perhaps make it so condis cannot be cleansed while in embrace the darkness. then there’s no fighting with allies.
and this skill that you described as ‘just a block’ also heals. A LOT. we pretty much have two heal skills with shield.
don’t think 2 seconds will change us into ‘auto attackers’. it was pretty insane to be able to evade for that long, do that much damage and then only have to wait 10 seconds.
It affects you as well as far as I know, and I’m pretty sure that the devs are trying to get some more diversity into pvp, including (possibly) full healer focused builds in raids.

You don’t gain any passive benefits if that’s what you’re asking. You can be Shiro/Glint with a staff/hammer if you wish. Same as Pony stance with a sword/shield etc.
They just fit together better as Glint = group support. Shield 4 = heal/protection (and some traits benefit from applying boons to allies).
Sword is ofc dps, and Shiro has quickness, which is obviously a large dps increase.
Same as conditions and malyx, his abilities also apply condis etc, so.
2 blooms when you get bronze, in a bouncy chest, 5 for silver, 10 or 15 for gold. Make each event last as long as the bomb throwing one.

Hello all,
Trying to address issues here so perhaps the devs can see each reason why this event has not been taken too well by the community. I’m sure a lot of them know about the kittenstorm on reddit at the moment due to this.
So to start, the event was advertised as a way to connect new and veteran players together. While this sort of works, a lot of the rewards are too expensive (rightly or wrongly) for a ‘new’ player to afford. This, imo, can be considered a good thing. New players should possible be able to afford the less prestigious items, but ones such as the potions should be left as being veteran only, due to how rare they actually are.
Not to mention the apparent drop rate of the blooms, in its current state, you’d have to farm for an unreasonable amount of time to be able to get them. This is also a problem, the event only lasting for 1 weekend locks a lot of players out of loot who possible work both days and only get a few hours in to farm.
This brings me to the next issue: event tagging. The way the buff works at the moment causes people to run to each event they can, tag each one and leave. There is 0 exp, loot or other rewards for getting gold. You can bronze each event and get the maximum possible reward from this event as a whole.
Scaling the events as much as it is at the moment makes me feel like having less people is better. I loved the incentive that GW2 has promoted since launch that you should enjoy seeing other players in the world, but with this world event seems to do the opposite. I’ve missed out on three or four events that have simply died too quickly, from the main plant being around 50% ish and just vanishing, then the leftover mobs being quickly deleted before I get to tag any. (this seems to be the shield plant event only)
Either the shield and catapult events need to take longer or the bomb event needs to be nerfed. Picking up the explosives and throwing them seems to take at least twice as long as the other two in my own experience. Whether this is new players taking the seeds and lobbing them in the wrong direction or poor scaling I don’t know. I make sure to get as many bombs as I can and throw them at the main plant.
No experience. There is little incentive at the moment for new players to do this. This could have been a nice way to give them a level boost. I know when starting an MMO any way to give me a level boost I will gladly take. It’s much more fun to run around with friends in a huge zerg, getting fast levels than it is to do hearts in my personal experience.
The main problems are the poor amount of blooms you receive for the time invested, the advantage you get for tagging an event and selfishly leaving (guilty as charged) and finally the long waiting times between each event. This is all without mentioning the bug on the rewards anyway. I played for about 4 hours straight, stubbornly trying to get blooms. I did not get a single one in the end and have not received them retroactively yet. I’m alright with this as long as the people who missed out on the rewards do receive them before the vendors leave.
Finally, I love how transparent and talkative the devs are about class changes and such. Roy in particular is very talkative on the Revenant forums for example. Could we get an explanation as to why this event was so poorly designed? I’m guessing the main developers are still hard at work to get the October release date on HoT, but that’s besides the point.

No kitten, really? That’s a shock. I’m pretty sure they stated at the start of the elite specs that they’re meant to open up new options and roles for classes. That is exactly what they’re doing. Tempest is a different feel .

Great job. I was a little disappointed after BWE1, but I held my breath and crossed my fingers for BWE2, and you and your team certainly delivered. I really can’t wait for HoT now to spend all my tomes on my Rev and start to main it! The animations, the group support, the damage, the whole feel and theme of the class is fantastic.
I’ll probably even go for my second world completion on my Revenent, which is a big deal for me (i’m super lazy)

P.S. The people saying that Rev is OP in SPvP, people also said that Hundred Blades was op on release. Now look at it. People will adapt. Hint: Rev is weak to condis.
Sure you can, the outgoing healing is actually pretty sweet with the right traits. I hope that a healer role is needed in raids, i’d like to try it out.
It’s a bit weak, mechanically speaking. The range of the tablet and the speed it moves compared to people moving around whilst fighting is a bit slow, but hopefully that gets changed. Also having to summon the tablet when you change to Pony stance is a problem IMO. All things that I think will get looked at though.

and if the meta changes, then it changes. the classes that are meta have been since FOREVER. i’ll be glad that theres some change.
Warrior does more cleave damage + banners + 25 might. Ele provides fury with fire fields.
Guardian does Aegis, thief stealth.
Right now the dungeon meta does not need any defensive tradeoffs like Jalis, which, despite you saying the revenant doesn’t have to sacrifice anything, actually means getting rid of Shiro. Which I’m sure you know is a huge tradeoff. Same deal with the Pony legend, changing legends and casting that tablet is all wasted dps.
Bolt could make you turn into a sorta lightning bolt during Unrelenting Assault, and throw lightning bolts on the sword 2 ability.
Staff 4 with Bifrost could make a DOUBLE RAINBOW.
I was banned last Friday all of a sudden, in the middle of sPvP on my mesmer, for ‘tampering with the game’. I can honestly say I have no idea how to do this, past a dysfunctional cheat engine download, which I would never use anyway. It’s a permanent ban, and I have made a ticket but it’s been 3 days now and the only response I’ve had is ’your ticket has been elevated.
