Too difficult for me. Die continually even tho Beta character with food stronger than any of my regular characters. GW 2 beta played every minute I could ( and more than I should ) this I rapidly lost interest . Already regretting paying out for expansion
The one adventure I found that was active said couldn’t play with active stance but couldn’t switch off revenant stances.
Told I had 2 unspent mastery points . Wanted to spend them on gliding—saw some people who seemed to have done this but for me didn’t matter what I did couldn’t seem to use them—maybe I just didn’t understand what I was supposed to do but I left and right clicked everything in sight
The description for ‘a sweet friend’ certainly says that Halloween dailies count towards the achievement and with previous events the event daily has counted with no restriction on how many of the required achievements could be dailies There aren’t any more achievements that I can either do or do in the remaining time which is frustrating when the fault is not mine but the game’s programmers
for other not very good necromancers, I realised that I had done better on my first of a dozen or so attempts when I had not read about semi safe areas and not concentrated on getting in to them . Although people talk about using ranged weapons from these areas I always got out of range messages. Various posts talked about foods and condition damage reduction—you can buy a bowl of lemongrass poultry soup for about 49 silver at the trading post and I used this for my successful attempt, during which I also needed 3 instant repair canisters( 35 jewels each on trading post) Whilst I found Wielder of Magics post almost impossible to understand he clearly suggested well of power so I equipped that. I used an armour booster the reduce incoming damage by 5% one but had to find this from another character as had used the one you get in the story on an earlier attempt . Unfortunately apart from replaying the story with another character I don’t know how you get one reliably if you haven’t got one . With all of this was able to finally complete mission despite a dozen or so previous failures
There is a well reasoned post from broom, who makes it clear he/she can do the mission but understands the difficulty of less competent players. the point that this is story line is well made. I have no problem with there being content I can’t play I wouldn’t attempt the challenges, I don’t attempt special events but I do expect to be able to do story line content. I am never going to be significantly better as a player. Perhaps better players dismissive of mediocre players such as myself should ask how likely it is the game would continue to be supported if large numbers of average and mediocre players who probably represent the majority of the player base took their advice and found a different game to play
I can see there’s a lot of enthusiasm but personally am worried by the statement that its intended to be challenging for skilled players. Whilst I’m an enthusiastic and regular player there’s no way I can be considered skilled. I hope the difficulty level is not set too high
I will check in every couple of days if and when characters go back to normal I will start playing again
for myself I don’t like jumping puzzles or activities. I’m originally a guild wars solo player drawn in by the suggestion that this was the natural successor to guild wars. I was pleased there was a solo aetherblade event even if it was unplayable due to lag but the subsequent aetherblade caches and all of cut throat politics have been non events for me.I feel the game is gradually moving away from me. I’d buy an expansion if it had a new story . I’d buy something like ‘mercenary heroes’ if it could be implemented for guild wars 2 and enabled solo players to do the 5 man dungeons.I’ll try the recently announced event but if its all jumping puzzles/activities and 5 man dungeons my time playing guild wars 2 will start to decline
I suspect I am not as good a player as some of those posting. I don’t want the lower levels as hard on my downscaled character as the higher levels, or almost as hard, I go back to the lower levels when I need a break from the difficulty of the higher levels
i am one of those frustrated by what seem to have become obligatory 5 person dungeons.Even with a level 80 character you ,or at any rate I, can’t do them on my own. You appear to have the ability to scale dynamic events is there no way to scale dungeons according to how many people enter so that solo players can continue to participate.
In some ways I wonder if its even worth starting southsun cove when i anticipate it will end with a 5 person dungeon .unlike a previous poster I haven’t readily found groups
