Rate the Asura Name Above You!
8.5/10 Seems class appropriate and good (I guess in this case bad), but doesn’t follow Asura naming conventions at all.
Engineer Name: Wrekkes (pronounced like Recks and Rex and Wrecks)
Wrekkes-Engineer Kore Rok Thief-Asraithe-Ele

9/10. Sounds like trouble :x
Mine is Kuddu. Nothing original, I know, he even looks like him. 1/10 it if you want, I just wanted to participate :P.

Sophea Fleshrender
Sophea Shadowheart
Sophea Sladorian – Charr Ranger – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
Sophea Of Elements – Human Elementalist – [DECM] | Sea of Sorrows
6/10. It’s just weird seeing two Asura carrying a last name around that you would see on a Charr . :p Sophia is nice though.
Anyways my Asura are named Solfox (Sol-fox) and Efua (Ef-ua).
Solfox sound like trickster one ; D I do like it 10/10.
My new asura is Ruxxi : ) She is adventurer Mesmer.
Ruxxi is very Asura like, i rate it 9/10
My Asura is called Xukk
Ruxxi is very Asura like, i rate it 9/10
My Asura is called Xukk
I do not know how to pronounce that one (its coming out as “Yuck” to me ^^)
I will give it a 5/10 since it has the double letter at the end
My Asura’s name is Sinnergize… rate it!!
Tidal Legion [TL] – Sea of Sorrows
my asura is called Shiinch, I had a warrior with Schinch, only one i, and then i created a guardian that became my name, I didnt want to throw my old name anyway so i just added one more i Schiinch
Sinnergize…..7/10 not really Asuran
Schiinch. Hmm. Not bad, but not my bag. Still… Schiinch. Fairly Asuran. 7/10
I’ve made another female mesmer. Name: Myndkitt
Myndkitt, i dont know how to sound it out, and it sounds i am saying “my filth” in my native language xD so i gotta give it a 2/10 :/
Durin Yddra : During being a dwarkitteng (i know they were a race in gw1) and Edda + Yggdrasil, ancient book + world tree
Kjixx – Asura Thief lol
Sounds thiefy, 8/10!
Mine is a fire ele named Red Storm Rising
Taken from the Tom Clancy book of the same
Nope, no naming conventions other than a good book. GW1 was very much the same among many players there, especially in pvp. I wouldn’t say it’s not RP, I’ve been involved in strict RP groups over the years, but nicknames are understandable not only IRL but for games. So, his real name is unknown to most, but goes by what people have come to call him After all, a lot of people IRL don’t know my given birth name either, only my nickname. But for Red Storm Rising, if you knew the book you would think it fits perfectly for a fire ele and even if Asura.
My Asura Nec has a different name, much like the same. Out of eight characters, only one has a conventional name, …until they look it up and find it’s the scientific name for a vegetable hehe (oh what race you think heh)

I confess I know neither the book nor the author, so I’m unable to rate it off that. Regardless, based off the general idea/sound/epithet: 6/10.
My new engineer: Rékki.
edit: I suppose I should add some reasoning behind the name.
-“Rékki” sounds like wreck-y; as in an engineer who wrecks
-Forum name is Requiem
-Typical Asuran naming structure; two syllables + double consonant.

Oh cool, I got lowest score on the page. Oh wait no I don’t, you do 5/10
I don’t know about you guys, but my Asura speaks English. When I played EQ1 for years, we had to learn other languages to speak in those languages (e.g. Dragon), otherwise it would look like jibberish. Typically names are based on the language you speak, and the names resemble that language even some with common words in the name. Asura speak English.
Thus my #2 Asura is named Neuro Damage.
Actually taken from a music CD I’m working on, one track is named that, on an electronic cyberpunk themed CD. Ok go ahead and fire off a 4/10 or less heh
Asura may speak English (actually, New Krytan, I believe), but they name according to their heritage.
Neuro Damage: 5/10 Not according to lore theme, but it sounds like an Asuran skill.
My Asura is named Rexxa. I was trying to imitate Zojja’s name and kept mixing things to come up with it. Everyone calls me Rex in dungeons.

Why so offended? I evaluated it off my own interpretation of its merits, which is what you were asking for. If you ask a stranger to judge a name, don’t be angry when he does so.
OrdinaryOwlMy Asura is named Rexxa. I was trying to imitate Zojja’s name and kept mixing things to come up with it. Everyone calls me Rex in dungeons.
I rather like it. It’s very fitting lore-wise, and has a great personality.

Can’t seem to find a name in the post above mine. But I just made a guardian made Xazza.
I don’t know much about Asura naming, but I like it. 7/10.
My Asura Elementalist is Zoozuu Deus. Most people nickname her the Zoo of Thoughts, because she constantly rambling on about new inventions and creations that could benefit all beings in Tyria. Every once and a while, you will catch her telling another race how to improve their technology, because she can’t keep her ideas or inventions to herself too long.
(edited by Aradusm.6420)
A solid 7/10.
I love “Zoozuu” because it’s unique while remaining within typical Asuran naming conventions & I enjoy her relevant nickname. Points deducted because not only do Asura have no surnames, “Deus” commonly known as the latin word for “God” isn’t very original.
My main, an Asura Elementalist, is named Rameil.
I originally named him after an Archangel “Ramiel”, an angel of thunder.
His name lacking the typical harsh, emphasized sound reflects in his personality.
He’s less abrasive about his indisputable genius, especially among other races.
Though seen as an eccentric for it, he’s much easier to talk to than most Asura, even going as far as speaking in layman’s terms to make less educated bookah’s feel more comfortable.
7/10
Ramiel seems a little less Asuran to me personally, but it definitely fits and I like your description of him to go along with it.
Asuran Warrior – Shaard
He feels very much at home in Rata Sum but prefers to stay locked away in his lab testing out different theories that come to him at random times. Although he’s not at the top of his college, his physical capabilites and trusy greatsword allow him to deal with problems a lot more easily than many of his fellow Asurans. Keeping to himself when out Rata Sum he only engages in battle when necessary, preferring to stay back and observe; a faint oddity throughout the many locations of Tyria.
A solid 7/10.

Great name for an Asura, very nice sounding Asura name that feelings more masculine and rough sounding. Fits his personality very well.
My Elementalist – Zoozuu Deus
To explain why my character’s name is like this… here is a link. I figured I make a story about how she came about having a surname and why she is the way she is. You can say her surname came about through a unique circumstances.

I like Ploob. Has that sense of silly sophistication.
My Asura engineer is named Bozzli.
8/10. Follows asura naming tradition thingy, and I get a little chuckle every time I read it. Maybe its those two z’s.
My Asura thief is named Twarru.
8.5/10
A neat name that I could easily see being a regular Asuran name. plus the Tw sound directly into the double r adds a foreign language feel to it. Very nice.
Posting mine again because it got skipped :<

6.5/10, male asura names tend to be short sounding names with a hard ending, eg Vekk, or Snaff
Zurt, member of the College of Synergetics
Kiel Replacement Movement
9/10. Nice name, but lacks some flavor.
My new little cutie is a necromancer named Pathologist Noma.
She just happened to go to the college of statics, because she couldn’t care less, which college to visit.
She doesn’t care much for college affairs and prefers exploring Tyria anyway.
One doesn’t need a lab to study death, when the world is in constant battle and people are dying all over the place.
Right now, however, she fell prey to her Super Adventure Box addiction and keeps wasting her days away inside the box.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Noma is a lovely name, 8/10 I think!
I have my little girlies, mesmer Khimin and guardian Evexi.
8/10- they sound so cool and definitely sound like normal Asura names
Mine are not very Asura sounding, but I wanted to name mine after scientists xD I have Tessa Nika, a guardian named after Nikola Tesla, and Adalace Lovenir, a mesmer named after Ada Lovelace who was the first woman in robotics.
Mine’s an Asura Elementalist named Vazzik.

Very nice. I’d give both a 7/10 because of the clever way you changed them to seem more Asuran. I would not that Adalace’s last name is more Norn sounding to me than Asuran. Tessa could also go Human and be as appropriate. Good job.
The guy below your post didn’t rate you, so I am. My Asura doesn’t have an Asuran name, so I’m not playing.
fans hate Joffrey. They hate her the way Star Wars
fans hate Jar Jar Binks.”-not a direct quote, but still true.

6 out of 10
I like it and wonder if it referenced or just a fun and creative.
I have a female Necro named Kappow.

Kappow kinda sounds male. And Dredge. The use of hard vowels serve to make it even more masculine, but that’s nothing faulty I guess. 7/10.
My own Asura is an engineer and named Zakkyz, and he’s kinda like the Asura equivalent to a class clown with temper issues. And an unhealthy love for explosives.
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |

Nice, very racial and for some reason the name fits. 8/10.
Kikt, my Asuran Ellementalist, a little bit of a pyromaniac but he can set his desires free on the dragon minions.
7/10
I got the name Little Shorty, waiting for my Asura to use it.
7/10

Very comical 8/10
I got the name Senozis for a female guardian, supposed to be the sister of my necro asura.
6/10
Mine is Billie Gene (Guardian)
Sorrow’s Furnace
8/10, cuz it reminds me of Michael Jackson :d
Mine is: Yyolo (guardian)
8/10 The double ‘Y’ is a bit off putting, but it’s still a good name.
My Elementalist is called ‘Jaecob’ – a variation of ‘Jacob’.
My Guardian is called ‘Alixandor’ – a variation of ‘Alexander’, meaning ‘protector of men’

Elementalist – Spartan Bureaucrat
(u_u)
Elementalist – Spartan Bureaucrat
8/10; I rather like Sparta.
My new engineer:
Rekki
Rekki is a very asuran name in terms of construction, I like it. 9/10
As for mine, I’ve got 8 asura, so hold your breath…
Aarti – Warrior, charmer, diplomat and my 2000+ hour main. She’s also tiny, even for an asura, but what she lacks in size, she makes up in speed and endurance, not to mention lots of flashy weapons. Applies her genius intellect to advanced blacksmithing and occasional command of troops in the mists.
Míína – Mesmer with panda-like markings and a serious sense of asuran style. She’s my main alt, at least for now. She has big, icy blue eyes to match her blue outfit and her twin Super Swords.
Blannk – Necromancer who has an obsession with knives and cutting things. His ears stand out as being positively bat-like. Unlike the cliché necro, he is a self admitted narcissist and prides himself on his good looks.
Larkii – Guardian, healer, hammer-crazy. Her eyes are always very focused and she has a piercing, ever so slightly mocking stare. Is an advocate of violence being the question and the answer being yes.
And now, the fun names…
Alchemagical Eena – Thief, whispers agent and student of the Eternal Alchemy. Never leaves home without her trusty slingshot. She is prone to changing her hair a lot, right now it’s blue and done up in twin buns.
Treehugger Terra – Ranger with a fascination bordering on obsession with nature. A weirdo always accompanied by her pets, Pinky the Pink Moa and Brain the Rainbow Jellyfish. Socially awkward, dislikes other people and often mutters about taking over the world.
Ella Explosivo – Elementalist with a temper to challenge Zojja, a penchant for burning things and even has the fiery hair to match. Thankfully, she hates travel and rarely leaves her lab, much to the relief of just about everyone else.
And finally, Machine Gun Milla – Engineer and machinist who gets the job done with her wrench, her turrets and of course, really big guns. She loves a bit of fun and generally, that means blowing up inquest labs after putting bullets in all their machinery.
7 for all of them but Machine Gun Milla i like this one lol i rate 9
my asura is called Saikopath and is an engineer
Meet my Engineer, crusty old Professor Knowitall (He’s the one on the left). Resistance is futile!
Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.
– Unknown Fire Elementalist
Very Asuran. 8/10
Mine: Sepni (Female Elementalist)
Very Asuran too! 9/10
My first and only asura character
Fllix (male engineer)
7/10 Two l’s llooks weird (see what I mean) but I like the name.
My Asura Engineer is Gizmo Gigawatt.
Jade Quarry
8/10 Love the reference
My Asura Warrior: Gawain Drobb (Drobb from Denard Robinson; my fave football player at the time of creation)
