For our upcoming CDI projects, we would like to collect your ideas for professions that need balancing. Since there are 8 professions, we would like to do one at a time and would like you to vote on which one comes first.
Please pick the three professions that you feel need the most help right now and list them in order of priority like so:
Example
1. Profession1 (this needs the most help by far)
2. Profession2 (this needs help, but not more than 1)
3. Profession3 (this needs help, but not more than 1 & 2)
Please keep your post to just your 3 votes. If you have any questions, you may ask them here as well.
We will collect the information at the end of the day tomorrow (5:00pm pacific), so make sure to get your vote in before then!

1. Ranger (Especialy longbow/axe damage and pet damage/survivability, please give us damage scaling already on pet or improve our ranged weapon so to make them stronguer damagewise)
2. Elementalist (the damage is very bad for a class thats suposed to be the ultimate cloth glass cannon, elementalist are both easy to kill and unrewarding please help us)
3. Necromancer (Save for its condition damage spec wich i dont care about, necromancer power spec are awfull they could use a damage boost on most of death shroud special ability other then life blast and could have minion damage scaling on power in pve, You made some ability have different effect in pvp so why not minions in pve wich tons of minion master are dreaming to run)

After some considerations:
1) Necromancer:
Has way too many useless traits (grandmaster minor in spite gives one stack of might for instance). Life siphoning is legitimately useless because arenanet is scared of making it op so they don’t make it viable this is evidenced by SOV which is useless. Minionmancers are only currently useful in 1vs1s in PVP, thats it. The bugs in general are insane. Death Shroud lockout bug is game breaking, and has been for 1 year. Death Shroud in general is clunky, it needs to function more like an attunement and less like a transform. Power, support, and tanking builds all need buffs to make them viable.
2) Elementalist:
This would be pretty decent if they had any innate survivability, but there survivability is so bad they can’t even have access to two of their trees. In PVE they are really awesome, but in PVP they die far to easily. I don’t play one like a Necromancer or Engineer, but when fighting one in PVP it becomes obvious they need survivability buffs.
3)Engineer:
They are in an ok place because of a few viable builds. The problem with Engis arrises when you consider that their turrets are useless, and their kits are too important. They need serious buffs to turrets, and gadgets so that they become more viable. A buff to their actual weapons would help them a lot as with build diversity as well. Most of the time I feel build choices are limited because the main weapons are awkward or weak (aka pistol 1).
Overall though many of the bugs for necros, eles, engis, mesmers, and rangers need to be addressed before anything else is even considered.
Necros don’t have reflects, invulns, vigor, blocks,
extra dodges, real stability, mobility skills,
burst skills, sustain, or good support. GG ANET.
1) Elementalist. No single role it is considered viable for in PvP, in WvW it is entirely limited to buff/MS spam in zergs, and in PvE it basically ignores its attunement mechanic because you lose heavy amounts of DPS if you so much as look at any other attunement than fire or Lightning Hammer.
2) Ranger. While it does have viable specs in every game mode, it doesn’t have the option to pick high-skill high-reward builds most of the time due to its reliance on an AI pet. It might be a good idea to give them the option of greater control over their pet, even if that is horribly difficult to play (but is still an option) due to the difficulty of managing both yourself and your pet.
3) Thieves. Overreliance on stealth makes for gimmicky builds that people don’t really enjoy playing with or against.
I’m really confused about people thinking engineers are weak. They are pretty darn good in all areas except PvE speedrun dungeons, where DPS is the only thing that matters anyway.
1 – Elementalist —> tons of design failures, useless skills and traits, horrible balance
2 – Ranger —> too much spam, too many useless and bad traits, bad balance, pet AI
3 – Thief —> very, very bed design… needs a lot of redesign, needing as well many nerfs and many buffs to get away from its current spam and faceroll concept
