Everyone knows that dungs right now are one big crap , stacking in the corner ,full dps to nuke the boss , skipping , stacking etc. I think that Anet can fix that easily . First when we have range enemies make them stay range just give them aoe which they can drop when they dont see enemy , stacking in the corner wont make any sense . Next bosses ,very often we stack in the corner to avoid some of their attacks because they use them when target is over (lets say)400 range , just get rid of it make range 0 and put only cd on that skill . Next thing I think dungs should be much more difficult but we should get loot from them only once per week (like in other mmo), lets say 4g for finishing cof p1 path and thats it , you can do that dung over and over but you wont see any loot . I think that might help game economy and reduce prices from thousands to hundreds .

Next thing stats ,right now whole pve is full berzerk or die . I think that with new mobs IQ berzerks wont be so powerfull and there would be some place for tanks or healers . Another topic is healing I thing that whole healing power should be change for restoration and all our heals should work on allies or our skills should be rebuild and some self-heals should be team heals .

Nobody is keeping you from running dungeons without stacking and skipping. In fact, some of the fastest and easiest dungeon runs I have had were with pug groups that advertised on lfg as no stacking/skipping. Try it, and you will find that it’s really no longer (and considerably easier) than unorganized pugs trying to stack and skip. Organized groups are different of course, but why would you try to be part of an organized speedrunning group if you don’t enjoy their playstyle?

You need more than 20 dungeon runs to gather enough tokens for a complete set of dungeon armour for one character, plus 3-5 runs for each weapon. If you restrict dungeon loot to once a week, you will no longer be able to work towards your dungeon equipment at your own leisure, but will be forced to gather tokens over an insanely amount of time (roughly half a year with weapons). Getting equipment from the same dungeon for more than one character is no longer an option that way.

Besides, even if prices would go down (which I doubt), people would earn less gold, too, and no more be able to afford things, so it’s a non-issue.

Seriously, if you want tanks and healers, there are tons of games out there for you. This one excells in that it doesn’t pigeon-hole people into being a one-trick-pony (this one takes the hits, that one does damage, and the weak one in the back is responsible for keeping everyone standing). Personally, I enjoy this game so much because it challenges me to be a bit of everything, having to do damage as well as looking after crowd controls, damage reduction/avoidance and a bit of healing, and synergizing with my group for maximum effect.

Actually, different “roles” still work with most content. Again, get your own group if that is the kind of game you enjoy. There are many valid combinations of equipment to get things done in this game. Just don’t force a specific set of combat roles on everyone, but let others do their own distribution of roles. Form a trinity-like group or a berserker group, whatever you enjoy most, it’s all possible in this game.

Some foe or mechanics for AI to fight against stacking is okay, foe or mechanics that slower the speed of full zerker party or make them harder to play is okay too. But encounter that require tank and healer role is simply…………

I am in full support of bosses that has AI or mechanics which counters stacking.

But tanks and healers won’t ever be in this game as a requirement. You can bring one, we had an ele water healer on a FotM run once, made things a lot smoother in a PuG actually, but you dont need one.

I don’t really why all the hate in the replies here. Stacking in a corner and facerolling should never be the best tactic for a boss fight, ever. Stacking can be a tactic, but it should involve actively keeping mobs trapped in the stack and NPCs should have ways to counter it.

You need to realize that most dungeons have not substantially changed since launch, when some of the current usual tactics were probably unexpected.
Unlike many other games, neither classes nor the combat itself are designed and balanced around dungeons (not even around PvE) and a lot of things on these old designs look more like a “let’s put some random enemies here and see what players do with the terrain layout and the tools at their disposal” than anything else.

It’s now that some tactics and metas have become prevalent when designers can and must analyze and test their own content from a player point of view, trying to deliver less placeholders and much more interesting fights.
Unfortunately, we don’t even have a proper dungeon design team anymore so I would not hold my breath waiting for someone to rework and polish them :P

It’s not a complaint on making things harder. It’s a complaint on making things dumber. Anti-stacking mechanics don’t make the game harder (we’ll still find ways to stack), anti-skipping mechanics don’t make the game harder (we’ll either just be slower or still find ways to skip)— they both just make it dumber.

Harder things, like harder boss mechanics, are welcomed by almost everyone. Hell, many people here support the removal of FGSploits in order to bring some challenge back into the game.

But the point is that threads like these don’t actually have good suggestions.

If people wanted to play something like other mmo’s(once a week “raids”, trinity), people would play those mmo’s and not Guild Wars 2.

I think it’s better for you to move to those games instead of insisting on making Guild Wars 2 copy them.

I want either stacking removed, so thing would start to get challenging and not everyone is locked to the melee-damage-masterrace (expect the bearbows coming!) or to leave it unchanged. Grinding gold is boring, grinding gold, just slower is more boring.

I couldn’t care less if they removed LoSing, but you’re not ever going to be able to remove stacking unless you add collision detection, which ANet has expressed no interest in doing.

You don’t want stack? tell A net to increase boons share range by 400 or so. done, less stacking, more meleeing around boss and… people will still call that stacking.
