Pugging Arah isn’t too bad, especially with 4 necros. They had some trouble doing the skips, so we cleared a few mobs, but at least they listened. The lowest AP guy was even running dagger main-hand (around 800AP), with the rest running condition builds. Surprisingly they also melee’d Lupi (he had 4 grubs), and not even a single bubble, although they may have all gone down in phase 2 :P.

Sam took the hammer for first seals on cliffside. He then got a charge and walked straight off between the seals. Pro gamer.

I still don’t quite get how the fractals rewards work I’m currently having a reward level of 14;

The other night we ran level 14 fractal followed by level 9 and I got two daily rewards;
Last night we ran level 9 into level 10 because we had a newbie guildie with us with no AR and I got only 1 daily reward.

When exactly fractals start scaling? At x0 to x9 or at x1 to x0? :c

Were we just being bad and inexperienced (we’ve been playing together since before reward level 30, and are hoping to keep going through the levels one by one, so we were all “on-level” for this one), or is 33 as nasty as it felt?

Just do Molten Duo at 43… That was the most difficult thing I did while grinding to lvl 50. Thanks god we didn’t have Dredge back then.

Legendary Grawl shaman at 43 was a nightmare with the sub par group i had.
In the end we had to rely on mesmer phantasms and fire ember summons to win, but at least we managed to win and i gotta say, it was fun.

Yeah. Was the most painful thing ive ever done in this game.

Sounds like it’s a good thing we still have 10 weeks to go before we reach 43 . It’ll be interesting to see if we even get that far … the 33 we did this week already showed a few key weaknesses in our group (most of all not enough damage output imo), and I’m not quite sure how that will develop.

I think we had harpy and cliffside with molten duo on 43. But Molten is the only part I remember.

I can only remember cliffside with 43. I think we had underground as well, but I might have that confused with 39 because I’ll admit to being drunk the night we did 43.

As i have a personal standard I am trying to achieve. And a guild i wan to apply for, but I need to get to 50. Which then begets the question. Having reached 50 purely as a PuG an accomplishment unto itself. what does that say of my ability and my “toolbox” if you will….

All of my characters are female because:

1. I spend about 6 hours a day watching pixels so I might aswell make them pretty pixels.
2. Female animatios and stances are much more believable and elegant.
3. Female clothing is much more detailed and we’ll thought out than males.
4. I like boobs :3

They prefer the looks, it’s looks better… Also, video games are often used as something to dissociate from the RL a bit, at least for quite a few people. I assume at least some of those (and maybe some who don’t even fall into that category) unconciously pick a female character just because of this reason.

I have a few more female characters than I have male ones mainly because I found liking to female Sylvaris. lol But then again, I made a male Sylvari Warrior because I like how he “screams” the shouts.

Actually I have a question about historical dungeon. Before Twilight arbor got changed to have the aetherpath (because appareantly only Arah is allowed to have 4 paths), Fyonna’s Path was forward/up. But where did up/up lead? Who was the final boss of that path?

Ah, Fyonna… So annoying.

Basically, her path was the worst of the three. The Sub-Boss was Vivenna, who Blink-spammed around, entered Stealth constantly and spammed conditions with Winds of Chaos and Chaos Storm. She was mostly annoying, but PuGs would get destroyed by her easily.

Then we have the boss, Fyonna… The Spider Tree. Basically, loads and loads of Spider trash mobs swarming the party, including (I think) those darn Stonetouch Spiders. Also a PuG destroyer, as back when I did that path everyone was certain that Ranging from the entrance was the one and only way to do it.

This. I think most of us would have been just fine with them just keeping the path and just dialing back the number of adds at Fyonna. But trashcanning it was easier, I guess.

The Fire Storm of the Imbued Grawl Shaman in the Volcanic Fractal… Is there any telegraph to this? I watched him but I see no animation, it just appears out of nowhere. Does he simply cast it under certain circumstances/every x seconds or am I just missing something?

He alternates between a fire arrow and the firestorm iirc.
