I just listen to metal that isn’t too screamo (for me, idk what the threshold on that is lol) + chillstep mixes + instrumental/piano covers. Some classical piano since I got into all that shigatsu wa kimi no uso (good little tear jerker anime if anyone interested).

Yeahhh, I know, black/death metal (+ all the subgenres and subsubgenres and whatever) come off a little too raw sometimes. For me, the voice is extremely important and that’s why I need breaks in which I go full ‘60s soul mode. Just voice and a few, chill notes in the background. Like, the instrumental part of Children of Bodom is nice, the guitar and keyboard are sick, but his voice? God, I don’t know, I just don’t like it when he screeches. Same for Finntroll and 100 others.
Buuuuut a more growly – albeit highly pitched voice – like Alissa’s feels more right to me. Shoot me if I know why, but males with light voices/females, singing like that, sound more “demonic” than some guy like the one from Amon Amarth, imo. That dude is burping in the mic, really… but he’s a big kitten. He and his beard. I’d pay to have a beard like that. Glorious.

Oh, and… it’s not modern day, but Bach’s suites for lute/guitar are sooo chill and nice to listen to.

Apocalyptica is a group that plays cellos and they have a drummer now I believe. They did a cover of Metallica which is how I was introduced to them. It’s sweet, they have their own stuff where they have singers from other bands come join them for a song or two. Really good stuff IMO.

Personally right now I’m listening to a bunch of retro video game music I have quite a diverse taste, just depends on what I’m in the mood for. Been listening to Steely Dan quite often lately. I know that feel… I also get bored very quickly. That’s why I know just a few names, and again only a few songs from that limited number of bands. I’m trying, though. In my other life I was a very curious person, ‘m trying to get it back through music… tried with books, didn’t work. Music is more accessible, makes it feel less risky to “venture”.
Tis strange, the only type of music I can’t stomach is the contemporary, pop-mainstream one. Is it just me being closed-minded and old or… /shrug
I just can’t listen to it, y’know? Even rap I can stomach, just not pop.

Apocalyptica is AWSUM! But I started disliking them more and more after one of the cello players left… I don’t like the drums. I like their old stuff, like Cult, and some of the songs they did with the guy from the Farmer Boys and from H.I.M. Sick voice, that one.
Their rendition of Nothing else matters is heartbreaking.

Nice song in that link ^^ I’m not accostumed to that kind of progressive mish-mash but I might grow fond of it.

Yeah I heard the stuff with HIM, not sure on the Farmer Boys stuff, but yeah I liked it more when it was just the cellos but overall they’re awesome anyway. I’m always a fan of stringed instruments, and I like radiohead so I was stoked with my friend sent me that song, it is about as perfect as it can get to fit my taste. Couple of my old buddies played in a more modern “screamo” band, but they were both concert level violists, always told them they should add some of that in, but they refused

Grandmaster blows my mindbrain, as usual… blessing us filthy peasants.

And yeah, Jesus our lord saviour, they’re still cool. The guy from Farmer boys, Matthias something, sang Hope vol.2, I’m sure you heard it. It’s one of my favourite songs, soundtrack of the movie Vidocq. The movie’s a lil trashy, but I found it enjoyable. Gerard Depardieu is just.. lol.
But like, their newer stuff lost a lot of bite. Just compare Hope vol.1 to Farewell. Very… I dunno, repetitive? Very pop. The newer albums are even more.. that. Still respect them as musicians, though.
I’ll admit I know jack squat about Radiohead. Heard of them, of course, heard a couple of songs… and that’s kinda it. The weirdest (for my tastes) band I listened to was Massive Attack.

Lol at the violin players ending up in a extreme metal band. Though it seems like a lot of people love the mix of classical and metal music…. I’m surely one of those. A friend of a “friend” plays in a duet of a cello and a.. bass? the biggest string instrument… They cover songs by the Iron Maiden. /giggle

I think my choice for the daily “log in gw2, stare at the screen and do nothing” will be Apocalyptica – Cult.

Yeah it was kind of annoying at the start with how stupid all the characters were. But then the deaths redeemed it to a certain extent. I kind of enjoyed the plot and idea behind it. It just got a bit too stupid at times.

Alacrity will only be useful for those big damage low cooldown abilities, so things like whirlwind or HB’s, some blurred frenzy’s, rapid fire maybe? Doesn’t seem like too huge of a boost but it’s something, worst case, it’s a boon so more damage if you have boon damage traits.

Teleport hacking, no-clipping, flying etc etc I assume, although teleport hacking is the only one on that list with any form of detection.

No because you can only refresh the f5 channel after returning to regular time. It has a secondary skill to reset manually. So signet of Illusions needs to be cast between F5’s not during a time phase. If it worked inside then you would be able to get infinite time warps. :>

F5 > Time Warp > Return > Signet of Illusions > F5 > TW > return > TW

Im assuming you were thinking of casting TW before F5. But that would mean it would always be on cooldown. If something is on cooldown when you F5 it will be on cooldown when you reset.

Testing mesmer/phantasm skill coefficients in PvE. Alpha in CoE is a great test dummy, too bad mesmers have no leaps so I had to walk through the wall to get to him. Same with lupi, I was testing his Armor values with different grub stacks but poor mes can’t jump so I flew. 99% of the dungeons instances where this was done were destroyed without completing them but guess that, according to ANet, still makes me an exploiter and account ban worthy… /sigh

I suppose it was a… preventive measure. /shrug
