I’m assuming it’s downscaling, but AC is horrendous when duoing or soloing. I’m sure all of the lower level dungeons are the same. Still won’t be bad in 5 man group.

Curious as well. I was thinking with the burning changes Bomb + Flamethrower + nade might be a nice combo actually. Stack up that burning nice and high while keeping might going, and decent damage from alternate things.

/shrug, should be some fun messing around with things. I may actually get on tonight if I don’t pass out first.

Because we’re now able to spec fully in Shadow’s Art and get benefit from both damage and stealth.

Just finished a fractal 26. They updated the fractal relic icon. We got fire shaman. 3 mesmers, me on engi, and a war, had no issues with burning. A few had wondered if it would be horrible and bugged forever, and it seems like the tentative answer is no.

Its me or now PVE is even more faceroll than before? Just did lv 20 and lv30 (already have done higher before patch), and, even having a bad party composition, we melted everything.

I believe the explanation to be simple:

  • Attribute points on equipment have been increased by approximately 30%.
  • Base attributes at level 80 now scale to 1000 instead of 926.

Basically bad pugs with tank gear got a little more damage now. Which means your average pug got buffed, yay!

Your food does actually work in AC now. So remember to buff up.

Always do, just seems noticeable. Perhaps it’s just my perception being warped by straight after the patch syndrome.

My version for roaming SW against trashes and bosses is different from you. I’m surprised that you didn’t take the nade trait and Incendiary Power. Also, the new Kit refinement gives u a skill which damage for 2k/4.5k (depending on sinister or zerker) when swapping to nades. They give a nice little addition to the burst damage.

I’ve got about 12-16 might and 2k bleed and burn tick with this setup.

Take down round seems pretty kittenty but kit refinement seems equally kittenty, only problem with kit refinement is at lupi you might have to end up wasting the proc on superspeed or some other dumb kitten. In groups kit refinement is most likely better than takedown round though

When I was soloing AC earlier with (almost) no buffs other than food, damage seemed to be around 30-40% lower than before. Not sure how much this will impact full groups either (is the stat cap still there and just raised, or is the downscaling too harsh to reach it? How are +stat trait effects treated by this now?), but I guess we’ll see after reset.

Full groups it makes very little difference. We still melted the bosses in seconds with 0 might and me on necro who barely even got a chance to pick up the icebow.

Burns seem to be the new thing. People claiming 37k ticks in PvP. Runes of Balthazar plus full on burn and everything just melts

Would be fun to see some lupi burn kills before the formula inevitably gets nerfed to oblivion.

Edit: For reference if you had 5 guys actually doing 37k burn ticks that’d be an 8s lupi kill.

Yeah I’ve seen a lot of spouting on about 7-10k ticks when I was running around SW. Just screwing around with traits though, picking some of the burning traits on my guardian I was able to see 1.5k burning ticks on top of my normal Power rotation. Of course I took some minor losses in doing so, but interesting none the less.

I will say, I hope they don’t nerf condi damage. I really don’t see it as being too over the top, maybe a minor adjustment. What I do think needs changing is GREATLY increasing the HP scaling in Open World content. The speed at which SW champs went down was stupid. I don’t think they factored in all the condi damage that simply wasn’t happening before because people were stupid and ran those builds even though they were completely impractical. Seeing a zerg of players wipe out SW bosses right around the time they do their first special thing, well, judging from my past experience we’re talking basically doing double damage compared to before.

Did anyone else noticed if the superior sigil of strength lost its internal cooldown? I’m playing my necro with dagger+warhorn and life siphon and he is getting 18 stacks of might almost instantly when i fight a bunch of mobs.

Edit: i took a print. Notice that i didnt use DS or any skill that gives might and i’m playing solo the personal story instance, and still i managed to get 12 stacks of might.

Edit 2: I got 19 stacks of might this time just from the sigil of strength.

Make sense. I guess it depends on what we want steady dps vs burst. I take throw mine for burst and vuln, and e-gun for steady dps? The new med kit is really cool, u lose one blast but the might from heal proc fast and u have a bit of personal fury before throw mine.

Ok, something is totally wrong here. I just did some math. In full ascended sinister gear with 25 might, you’ll be at around 2500 condition damage.

This is what the formula is supposed to be:

New damage over time: 7.5 + (1.55 * Level) + (0.155 * Condition Damage)

If you do the math, at max condition damage and might, that comes out to ~500 damage per stack of burning. That’s in PvE. If people were really getting 8k ticks, you’d have to have at LEAST 16 stacks of burn from a single person in PvP which is ridiculous on its face, and that’s not even considering the fact that PvP people have less stats and probably won’t have 25 might.

If you’re really seeing 2k burn ticks/stack Iris, I think they seriously messed up their formula somehow.
