Ahem. Just came back from the cinema yesterday and the hobbit 3 was so bad I actually had to rewatch LotR.
I can almost hear Tolkien rolling in his grave… I don’t know how they managed to botch it so badly, I really don’t. Ew.

And yeah dungeons are boring, I’m bored, I don’t know what to do, blablabla. Aragorn is awesome. He’s the only character I like more than elves.

Finally started playing it. What an amazing game. While the combat in GW2 seems to be a bit better (only 10 hours in), the story is exponentially better.

tbh, even though GW2 combat is good I honestly don’t really miss it that much. Some people find it hard to play other games after playing GW2 because the gameplay isn’t as good, but I don’t really find it that much of a deal breaker.

i’ll tell you what – considering the fact that half of the game is ferelden and half of it is orlais, I honestly didn’t find all of the pseudo-french voices that annoying.

Gives a nice touch imo. Combat would be 8/10 if it had a dodge and I would actually be able to move by pressing both L and R mouse buttons.

well there is actually a dodge skill you can unlock on warrior which repositions you rather than give invuln frames (so more like a wildstar dodge to get out of AOE than to invuln it), plus you have blocks on shield and 2h. rogues can evade backwards or parry with their daggers, and especially when taking control of a dual dagger rogue (I spec’d sera in to one) you need to have kitten amazing reflexes and positioning to not just get deleted out of existence by every trash mob).

That sounds like a nice concept. I wonder if anet can pull some of that off. Instead of a universal active-defense trigger like dodge. Each class has something unique that helps them sustain. Much like the mentioned thief=evade, warrior=dash, etc.

Well it’s linked to the mana system. Rogue blocks cost mana unless you trait them to refund mana on proc’ing the riposte, warrior blocks actually have cooldowns but can be held infinitely until triggered but drain mana as you do so for two-handed blocks, while shield blocks drain mana on each hit (and blocking big boss hits will basically dump your entire mana bar). Dodge rolls on warrior I remember having no cooldown but I think they had a mana cost to them.

So basically – GW2 lacks a mana system so you’d need to tie it to something like warrior adrenaline (which means you’d be insanely fragile at the start of a fight), thief initiative or something like that. Seems like too much redesign to me.

Been playing DAI for a couple of days now… and Solas? Oh my goodness, I have an even bigger man crush on him. That mischievous smile when he says “We should talk about this when you… wake up!” Completely sold to characters in that game.

I’m chasing Josephine down but I think we’re too similar. I don’t think a love story would do us any good. We’re both vain and we talk too much – imagine the arguments about our home’s furniture… but she’s pretty!
There, you see, I always mess up like that. Got awesome friends but I, as slave to my hormones as I can be, start chasing down a woman just because welcome to the jungle – she then sets my house on fire, stomps on my heart on the way out and my friends have to pick up what’s left.

guardian with 15k hp in cof. joined my lfg that said dps zerk meta only with foods and potions or kicked. they joined, did not use food and potions by the slave driver and then complained because they got kicked.

I love my guildies, but the other day I was taking one through AC on his ranger.

This actual conversation took place after I noticed him using a bow on the burrows in p1 (summarized):

“You’ll really want to use a melee weapon on the burrows, we need DPS and cleaving.”

“I don’t have any melee weapons, and my shortbow pierces, so it’s fine.”

Followed shortly by, and I kid you not:

“Should I be taking black bear or brown bear?”

He was completely serious. I don’t think I’ve ever been so speechless.

Ofc we just gave him some pointers and finished the run, after all, I was “that guy” at one point, too (AH condition guard back in the day. Fo’ reals, dat burning. OP). The ranger stereotype was just so beautifully fulfilled in that conversation xD

Ran CoE pug with a warrior, asked him he could drop banners and he told me he hates meta zerk builds and will not do banners since his DPS is just as good with his non meta build in knights armor. double face palm I tried to explain why banners are good regardless of his personal build but he was convinced his shouts were better, at least had FGJ i guess.

Since i just found this topic..this is my most funny anecdote from fractal. We were in urabn battlegrounds some lv 1-2 fractal. And this guy joined who had exclusively only done WvW. We get to the gate and they pull everything and sadly we wiped(trying to rez with oil ftw) so the second time we get to the gate and he pings a flame ram bluprint and says build on me! I lost it haha.

Was looking for a workaround after they broke the on swap aura for bifrost.

Finally im free! So story time.
Wanted to finish my daily pug runs and couldnt find a single AC p3 party so i made a group myself. Simple request “p3,lvl80,meta builds (gearcheck)”.
After many low levels, bearbows, MM necros, staff guardians, signet wars and whatnot a thief joined. I ask him for linking something, links full assasins ascended armor with pack runes, sword with fire sigil a dagger with accuracy. Oh and 0 signets on him. So i decided to silently get rid of him. And oh my god … That kittentalking he managed to do is insane even for my standards. Oh well. After that he sweared in his mother language which was french. Thats verbal abuse, right?

Nowadays, i dont bother asking for zerker or meta builds. I have enough experience with tryhards that don’t even deal a speck of damage but preach like priests about how to follow the meta. Incidentally, a zerker warrior who ran ahead without stealth, aggroing everything to the turret part in CM p3 and complained that it would be faster if we had killed everything instead of skipping. Cool bro. Bragging about his DPS a lot and picking on the poor double axe war. I’m nice so all I ask from pugs is to ping their utility bar. That should be the sign of co-operation.

dont worry, i was just kicked by some “exp only” pugs that used sharp stones in molten facility and when i sarcastically pointed out these 2 facts together, i got kicked for telling other people how to play, being douch-bag and that they didnt expect such kittenhole to be in rt : ))))

I want to have those high level problems xD My last “full run, exp zerk only” party ran the wrong way in CM after Victoria, tried to kill Seamus in p1 for loot and killed the riflemen before the boss in 1/3 both times … for the chest that spawns only once.

Also, why do people advertise their Arah runs as melee Lupi when they plan to wall on wall him? It’s not like anyone but the person pushing him has to melee … oO

Ohh that lupi one bugs me. Melee lupi != melee him in phase one then cheese, god…

Tried to group Arah the other day, first time they do this unannounced, next time I ask and they said yes so I just left. It’s a shame.

My big bugbear right now is people glitching out mossman and archdiviner. Mossman at least I can leave easily and just laugh, but when you get to the third fractal after sludging through ascalon or molten facility it just really stings. A few times my will power has broken and I’ve stayed but, it’s like at least once a day I have to leave a run because they want to bug archdiviner. Such a dumb exploit. :S

I will say, what bugs me isn’t so much the glitching, but the fact that people refuse to be open that they are going to do it. If people would simply put “WoR Lupi” or something like that I’d know to avoid that group, but now I just have to ask as soon as I enter and there is a guardian in the group.

I understand why people glitch things, but I simply don’t want to be a part of it when fighting Lupi is the main reason I run Arah.

I didn’t even know Arch and Moss could still be bugged, shows how much I pug haha :P

Do people still do dungeons? I’ve not played in over a year due to the lack of interest in dungeons shown by devs and players, how’s the scene looking.
