Best profession for break bar
I’m pretty sure it’s Rev with staff.
Warrior with mace and shield has 3 interrupts. There are additional utility skills which will add to that
Rev
Jalis taunt chain/hammer 5
There when you need him.
There are currently 2 Skills that come to mind when bars need breaking:
Revenant’s Surge of the Mists (Staff #5)
Engineer’s Slick Shoes (Utility Skill)
The reason is that these proc Multiple instance of Knockback/Knockdown respectively, and since the distance/duration isn’t taken into consideration when calculating Break Bar Damage (To my knowledge), Multiple Procs trumps Stronger CC skills. (This, however, isn’t true for Duration-based CC such as Dazes and Stuns).
Aside from those two, Fear is the most powerful CC condition, more so than Taunt or Slow.
So in your case, I’d play either Revenant, Engineer or Necromancer.
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |
i have notice a druid (Staff 4 or longbow 4)+a wolf (KD leap + fear and traited taunt) can really eat away at break bars
thief basilisk venom , shared.
Archeage = Farmville with PK

The stronger the hard CC, the more effective it is. While I dont know if the numbers are accurate above, I will mention that I’ve been able to strip around half the breakbar on mossman with banish (at upper tiers). Additionally, hard CCs can be more effective
simply because it’s a bigger strip in less time.
Depends on how often you’re looking to break it, I suppose. Scrapper should be able to keep the stun rate high. Chronomancer probably has the fastest CC burst because it can dual-cast Signet of Humility + Domination + other stuns for a combined 30-40s worth of hard CC, but they’re on 90-180 second cooldowns.

I love that skill so much, now you see a champion’s breakbar, press 0, now you see an empty champion’s breakbar!
MAGIC!

Well, at least you tried to explain. Not like people will listen though
Scrapper, hands down, everything else is a far distant second at best.
you can have a build where half of everything you do will daze, quite literally, which a very hard CC very effective for breakbars, and that is not even including the duration of hammer 5 or slick shoes which add to that.
i still run it on my engi for open worldstuff as well as spvp and wvw with some variations between the game modes. for dungeons / fractals you obviously want to use more power based DPS gear with it then the other modes. for wvw / spvp, just switch around your utilities and gyros.
and to top it off, it is one of the few extremely effective at what it does kitless engi builds. extremely effective hard non-stop spammable cc, decent dps in dps gear, absolute awesome tank in tanky gear + gyro switch, only thing it lacks is good ranged, you can go mortar for your elite, but the other elites fit with the rest of it so much nicer it becomes no big deal once you get the hang of it.
Mesmer can do a serious CC spike.
Signet of Humility and Signet of Domination, though they have long recharges, but you can use Blurred Inscriptions, Mimic, and Chronomancer’s Continuum Shift to reduce this.
They also have Mantra of Distraction and the shatter skill Diversion for Daze.
As for weapon skills, Focus’ Temporal Curtain pulls, Pistols’ Magic Bullet Dazes, and Greatswords’ Illusionary Wave knocksback.
