I love hanging out in Lion’s Arch but I loathe 95% of the map chat.

I block everyone (Yes, everyone) who talks about non-gw2 related stuff, links items and rant, on /say and /map chat. I don’t want to disable my /say and /map chat because I like helping people that needs help with something (killing X, doing Y jumping puzzle etc.).

I block everyone who annoys me even by a teeny tiny bit. For me, it’s easier to just block them rather than having to deal with their kittens. It makes my life easier and more peaceful.

I have around 2000+ people in my block list and it keeps growing every single day.

I really hate how I always get teamed up with 4 genius players running around the map fighting and dies off point in PvP.

Whenever I died to condi-users multiple times in PvP, I will rebuild my class to a condi build for the next few games and complains how filthy and easy it is to play a no-brain build while 1v2ing everyone easily on point.

Lastly, I don’t care about your opinions.

Cheers.

I bet you’ll be a barrel of laughs at Christmas

I am secretly a mouse clicker.

I have a paranoia that precursor did drop for me from random trash mob but I didn’t loot it.

Other than random zerg kills, I have killed 2 people in WvW. Both of them are forever in my heart for being so lame that I actually was able to kill them.

When people assume I am guy, I let them think that way. I am married anyway.

I like Trahearne, was surprised to find out how much people actually hate him. I think most of hatred comes from people who wanted to be the Uber Main Dude. In MMO, right.

I hate Caithe’s nose, her face looks like it belongs to 40 year old diner waitress. I think Eir has awkward outfit considering her age and maternity.

I am russian and those Dredge mole-puns amuse me greatly, there seems to be no end to them and I don’t think they’re racist or offensive in slightest.

im a player of this game.
i customise character for hour (or actually im not sure how long) then delete or remake it. ive remade my current characters 2-5 times because of that.
i plan to finally get total makeover kit for my asura.
im new, and my guys are all under level 30.

when i bought this game, i bought it also for internet friend i have never met before. now we play it together. my friend says my customisation problems are pointless, and that i should focus on playing the game. i know, but im like this, its something underbrain no-one understands that these stubbornities occur. to some it could be a cup of coffee or tea, etc. it has to be done.

i like gw2 community alot, especially map chat with stuff like “anyone got a matrix key” response—> “neo is not here”
and when i saw impossible strawberry patch someone helped me get there.
best community ive run into.

in real life ive been alone most of my life so games with people are important to me. and its not because of looks, its just because im shy. ive been made shy by this stranger culture (recalling how i behaved in childhood. im not from where i live by blood – and origins have alot of power in my nature, in my case)

ive seen two ufos in norn starter area…

Staff fire ele is the highest DPS in game. It is the go to build for additional eles in a party, with one going scepter or dagger focus for might stacks. Just wanted you to know. You should be pleased when you see a staff ele not attunement swapping unless they need to stack swiftness or want to use their earth blast.

Spamming 1 all the time with 3 signets and not moving at all at boss fights? No thanks.

Staff ele on mai trin? Witnessed today it can’t last literally 5 seconds in a fight.

Staff ele is fine on www when you need to control the crowd with stuns and freezes, but it is useless because bosses go right though it on dungeons.

why do people like you try to explain something they don’t understand?

staff elementalist is a highdps build. if you got the mighstacking already managed that is actually much more dps then scepter or dagger builds.

good staffeles don’t spam 1 only. good staffeles don’t use signets. good staffeles don’t range.
the “staffeles” you are talking about are just noobs and probably don’t have a good build / gear. if you gave them scepter dagger or dagger focus they would still be bad. makes no difference.

I’m late but I’ll go anyways

I have only played thief since launch

I have leveled 9 thieves to 80 and then deleted them to reroll to another race

My oldest character is only 300 days old even though I was a BW player

I spend 30+ minutes jumping around the pvp lobby before realizing I never qeued up

I’ve sold my progress to legendaries more times than I care to admit

I’ve spent atleast $250 in the gem store since launch

Sometimes I go into hot joins and trash talk new players when I’m having a bad day

I ran through 150 transmutation charges in less than a month

I belong to a WvW guild even though I get ~5fps in zerg fights

I have 4k hours on this game and still play it weekly

It took me 7 months to level another class up to 80

I only run glass builds no matter what I’m playing (because big numbers)

It took me 1 and 1/2 years to finish map completion

It took me 1 and 1/2 years to finish quip

I then sold quip (because 3k gold)

I then spent 3k gold in less than 24 hours

Ably

I think i’ll confess again cuase its beena while and things have certainly changed since my past confessions!

-I still hate grammar kitten’s. That will never change.

- I actually joined an RP guild and now partake in Rping in game. Its real fun, and definitely has given me a new perspective on the game. (I used to secretly admire it and now i’m actually part of it :’ D)

- I’ve joined a guild despite me avoiding them for a good part of a year or more.

- I’m no longer super paranoid about my display name, although I’d still like to change it for obvious reasons.

- I’ve made more friends in game than i thought i would originally.

- I like playing male characters more than female ones- i just feel comfier for what ever reason.

-I have conquered one dungeon since my last confession and i feel thats progress in the right direction.

- I’m still a hoarder, its gotten worse I’ve recently had to upgrade all my inventory bags to accommodate it.

- I did teq for the first time with my new guild and actually enjoy it.

- I still have a spending problem in game but I’m able to make money faster now that i go out and about fighting with buddies.

-I spent 400 something gold on my bow and even though I love my bow, it went down 2 gold in price the next day. i feel slightly ripped off…

-Transmutation charges make me anxious when trying to come up with good armor combinations. I always fear I’m gona run out and never be able to change back with out getting some more.

-I’ve gotten lazy with the LS, despite me wanting the armor. The “Meeting the asura” story line always frustrates me.

-I feel i spend way to much in the gemstore, and find myself wishing i had spent it elsewhere in the game.

-I still dont know much about builds and the like, and its been about 2 years now? but i feel i’ve made some progress.

-The few friends I’ve made in game, i treasure. They’ve definitely helped change my view on things.

-I dont see myself really leaving the game to another, i love the whole pay once thing. Its not a bad price for everything you get.

-I wish we’d get more armors than outfits, but lately that dreame is being crushed.

-I’m not and wasnt okay with how the Gem Conversions were changed up, and i still dont like the “fix”. But it is better than nothing.

- I wish they would make armors from the gemstore free to apply after purchase but i can see the logic as to why they are not.

-I wish this post was anonymous

Just an update on my Confession, I saw the post around lately and figured, why not?

My turn!

  • I spend about 75% of my in-game time running in circles somewhere in a city, lost in thought. I actually Can’t think properly unless my character is moving about.
  • I secretly wish that Sword/Shield for Warrior will someday become Meta, because it’s my favorite setup. I’m also aware that this will never happen.
  • I geared out my Warrior to be my main, with all Ascended stuff I could get my hands on. I now main Ele in PvE and Ranger in sPvP.
  • I leveled 1 of each Profession to 80, and made sure I had 1 of each Race at 80 as well. I play maybe 3-4 of those on a regular basis.
  • I have played for almost 2 years. My world completion remains at 69% and has done so for a Year and a half.
  • I’ve bought more Black Lion Exclusive Armor Sets for just a single Costume piece than I care to admit.
  • I got Tailor to 500 on one of my characters solely because I felt it suited her to be a master tailor.
  • I kinda want to switch Race on at least half of my characters.
  • I’ve repeatedly wasted all my Dungeon tokens on the wrong kind of Gear, either type or stats, and rather than salvaging them I’ve just thrown them away in frustration.
  • I cannot gear my characters in anything lower than Exotics, not even if it’s just for looks. Some of my characters have 4-5 sets of full exotics. I have 13 characters.
  • I never play thief in dungeons because I’m ridiculously paranoid about messing up when stealthing the team. I’ve successfully memorized and completed many skips solo.

I hate players that give their character name something that sounds oriental or Asian themed, but make them look like their German with blue eyes, Italian with brown eyes, or red haired with green eyes.

I don’t like Sylvari. I’m racist against them.

Sometimes I pretend to be afk, just so I don’t have to speak to people, and I don’t hurt their feelings by telling them “I don’t want to talk to you.”

I hate all male warriors that make themselves look like a clean shaven perfect skinned abercrombie model. You’re a warrior bro, stop looking like a Guardian ( oh yeah, I went there. )

I hate how warriors can’t use daggers. I also hate how we can’t use spears outside of the water.

I actually enjoy underwater combat.

Graphic clipping bothers me. Ever hold Frostfang in the offhand of a male sylvari or male human? Try it.

-I am a female player and it somewhat annoys me when ppl automatically call me ‘dude’, but i don’t correct them when i know we’re not going to have a long conversation – still annoys me though.

-If i see a dead player who’s been laying around before i got there, and had been laying for more than 10 seconds since, i automatically assume he/she is afk and don’t rez him/her (what for anyway? he’ll just get killed again soon) and i get somewhat annoyed that some ppl can’t leave their character in a safe place if they have to go afk.

-i have completely given up on crafting: the highest level i’ve reached with a craft is 147 and i feel a bit bad and noob-ish because of this.

-i have deleted several lvl 80, fully geared characters.

-i have 9 character slots now and always feel bad if i don’t have at least 1 slot empty, but i always feel like i don’t have enough slots. Also, i don’t even play with most of my finished (lvl 80, geared) characters

Every now and then i enter a path sellers lfg and say they should be ashamed of themselves. Then exit the group.

Every time i see a staff ele i force myself not to vote kick it from a dungeon, instead i grind my teeth and watch it how he/she spams fireballs with no attument switch ever and then die max range from all of us. Then i don’t res him/her the whole run because f you start using dodge and stop checking your facebook.

I do the same from above when a necro is in a group. Or a ranger. Because max range-spamming 1 rocks.

I change my armor’s apperance way to often. Sometimes weekly.

After i flushed 200gold in mystic forge and only got a few pearl exotics i quit playing for 2 months.

I like like world completion it relaxes me.

I strongly resent people who ping precursor drops on world boss event. I’m jelous besause in 2 years of playing the most expensive item that dropped to me is a hammer worth 20 gold.

I like running fractals even tho i know i’m going to get a uninfused ring on lvl 50.

Once i vote kicked afk-er on the phone after being afk for 10 min because i wanted to finish asuran fractal because Mentalist was on in 30 min on tv and i wanted to watch it.

Um just some education for you, camping in fire attunement is the best damage for ele, you might swap attunements for a heal field or for cc’ing trash, but you are losing damage by changing attunements. Best damage for an ele is 100% lava font uptime with 1 and 3 used whenever off cooldown and 4 used as an extra dodge and 5 used if big aoe is desired preferrably with maxed out might/vuln/arcane lightning proc, maybe conjuring a frost bow, popping 4, 3 at point blank range, and then discarding, maybe 5 on something actually vulnerable to a stun..

If you’re swapping attunement, there’d better be a utility reason for it, and not just because he’s facerolling every skill not on cooldown

When I was a noob I swapped attunements a lot, then I learned how the class skills actually worked and what did the most damage.

Yeah my turn:
As an elementalist I judge every single other ele I see in the game and feel superior to them even if it is absolutely not the case
I can change dye and looks more than three times a day
I will get rage of Black Lion chest and spend RL money in getting keys to open them.
I like to go in eotm and chase down upleveled to kill them without mercy before dancing on their corpse
I will insult or mock the other team in pvp if they are pathetically losing to our team.
I like popping a ram just out of gate reaches or pop a treb to waste supplies.
I join zerk only without zerk gear
I will rez asuras and sylvari to 90% before leaving when I feel especially racist.
In pvp I’ll say that I keep a point without keeping it.
I will read the forums and silently judge everyone QQing in it.
I think my class is perfectly balanced and others should just learn to live with it, no matter what sort of problems exist.

Being asexual male offline, I play all female characters largely to be what I cannot be r/l. Also because I find very masculine men, even video game ones, to be intimidating. I hate coarse behaviour from men.

So, in game, when I play a female character I try to adopt a feminine persona. Even to the extent that if someone messages me saying “Hi cutie x” or whatever, I will continue to pretend that I am female r/l unless they specifically ask me otherwise. I have many friends on my friends list who I call ‘honey’, ‘cutie’ and other pet-names. The vast majority do not know my true gender.

Think about that the next time you try to sext someone in game…

OMG… I just remembered…

I’ve purchased skill points, thereby adding to the metric that I actually want to buy skill points. I am ashamed.

Snark aside, I have a medium armor guy using the Whispers coat, because it’s one of the few decent options for medium. He’s a Blood Legion member of the Vigil, so maybe the Order of Whispers isn’t happy with him wearing their uniform.
Or maybe they are. Hm. Cranky Charr guy with a pet and lots of arrows making a huge fuss is a great way to divert attention from actual operatives. And if he should be captured, he can truthfully say he’s not a Whispers member. It’s brilliant~

I think about these things too much.

  • When I was new to gw2 (like a few minutes old), I had a hard time differentiating the NPCs from the players coz both names are green, and they walk, run, etc., and a chat bubble appears when they talk! So when an NPC talks and waves at me I actually wanted to wave back(but that time ddnt know how to) and think to myself “wow players in this game are really friendly!” Worst part was when an NPC said “Hi! how are you?”, and I actually replied “I’m good, thank you! And you?”. I waited for a reply for a few seconds. It was when he said “Hi! how are you?” again that I realized how dumb I was. Hahaha
  • My first toon was a female norn ele at medium height. I ddnt realize, how tall I was until I went to Queensdale and think to myself “Look at all these tiny humans! This is so awesome!” And all the tiny humans are all so amazed at me and kept following me everywhere and be like “are you a norn? :o” with their tiny heads looking up at me. And I’d be like “hell yeah, I am!”
  • I love Sylvari, and any one who hates them deserves a special place in hell.
  • I think Human is the most boring race. But most armors look best on them so I obligingly made one. :/
  • I am an elitist. I want to do anything at maximum efficiency(specially dungeons) and I want everyone in my team to keep up with me, and silently hold a grudge to those who can’t. :/
  • I’m a grammar kitten, wrong grammar bothers me to no end. :/
  • When someone sucks really hard in a dungeon(like really hard, not just making couple of mistakes), I immediately assume the player is a girl irl. :/ Don’t get me wrong, most of my girl friends are awesome. Being good in a video game doesn’t have anything to do with gender, but based on my experience(playing MMOs for 10 years now), girls can be as good or even better than boys but, I’ve never known boys who suck as hard as some of the girls I know.
  • When a toon looks great I assume the player is a girl irl. If the toon looks ugly, I immediately assume the owner is a male irl. I think all female human thieves with the underboob-showing armor are all males irl, and all toons wearing kittenty armors for that matter.
  • When I am in a PvP Match and I see someone sporting a Fashion Collector title wearing 1 or more legendaries in my team, I immediately assume they are bad, which is accurate 90% of the time.
  • When I see 3 thieves on enemy team, I feel ever so happy. But when I see 3 thieves on my team, I die a little inside.
  • I love showing off my dragon finisher in AC to scare/impress noobs. You’d be amazed how many of them actually tried PvP to get cool finishers.
  • I hate WvW players who step into PvP thinking they would still be as awesome as they were in WvW, coz most of the time, they’re bad.
  • I try not to do PvP with friends when I’m having PMS coz I might snap at them if we lose. They’ll hate me forever for losing my temper but for me, it’s just a normal monthly thing where every little thing makes my blood boil. Same thing with dungeon speedruns.
  • I have crafted 5 legendaries and 2 full sets(heavy and light) of ascended armor and never had more than 150g on my inventory. It’s like when I feel I have loads of gold(150g is a lot to me), I have the need to spend it. I spend gold gambling in MF because I don’t have better use of my gold.
  • I’m quite lucky in precursor drops both in open world and MF so I’m quite sad that precursors will be craftable in the HoT expansion. I know, I know. Please don’t hate me.
  • I genuinely feel happy for any one who gets lucky drops(precs, exotics, charged cores/lodestones, etc), be it from dungeons or MF coz I know the feeling.
  • Whenever someone shouts in map chat that they just need a little more mats or gold to finish something(be it legendary or ascended stuff or just some cool-looking weapon), I always give them whatever I can, regardless if they’re lying or not. Shame on them if they’re lying though. Lol.

I’ve never sold or deleted a chocolate bar in-game because I believe they bring good luck.

I mean, it’s chocolate for god sake. How can it not bring good luck.

This is not my experience but i’ll confess anyway.

While back, a year ago my friend was doing fractals lvl 38. In his party was a fella who kind of sucked and my friend confronted him and sayed he is awful and has no clue how to play.

The guy then explained he doesn’t have hands and played with some kind of attachments or something….

He got kicked out the group and then my friend posted lfg: fractal lvl 38, must have hands.

I laughed more at this then i should, way more

One time I was literally the only person doing the pre-events for Shadow Behemoth. I did the one at Phiney and the one at the monastery before heading over to the one at Tamin Foothills. There was one person at Tamin Foothills as I got there, but he died as I ran up to him and waypointed (and never came back) before I could get him up. No one else was there (or had been at the other ones). So, instead of immediately finishing, I just chose to kite the mobs around for a few minutes. Finally, the lone commander (who had been standing where the zerg is for quite some time) asked why SB hadn’t spawned yet. About a minute later, another person showed up at Tamin, and then I finished the pre with said person.

at times i wish i had a kill item just for my self just to kill all the annoying champ commanders claiming the champion.

i love to see a big zerg going after a big boss and the boss insta-kills them but when i get there on my own it’s an easy kill for me, just to kitten them off……..also, i am then playing as a necro to wring it in even deeper.

I stopped playing meta thief builds because I wanted to prove I could build a bunker thief.

I’m still playing lifeleech unicorn because I find soloing massive hordes of trash more fun than quickly bursting bosses.

I secretly cheer a little inside every time thieves are adjusted because it always buffs my build and nerfs the meta.

1. I get jealous of other rangers’ creative names for their pets, wait until they are gone, and then change my pets’ names

2. I swore when I bought the game on pre-order I would never buy gems. I broke that promise last week

3. I prefer Logan to any other member of Destiny’s Edge and don’t think he deserves the kitten he gets. >.>

4. I occasionally throw in a swear on the forums just to see it change to kitten.

5. kitten.

I won’t ever res guardian/warrior if it’s asura. Because it is disgusting and they must suffer.

HoT is just a cash grab.
Almost nothing in this game will ever be fixed.
Anet fix things only if it might increase gemstore sales.
