step 1, get armor crafting of the desired weight class. step 2, craft the desired armor pieces or insignias for ascended stat changes.

I know it is kinda annoying if you don’t like crafting in GW2, but you do what you have to. And you can get away with just lvl 400 crafting and that costs around 40g assuming you’d have to buy all the mats to do it

Yeah, not a huge fan of crafting in general. I just want to bash face/ boon support while having laughs over comms. Are they bound on acquire? If they’re not, I’ll probably just get someone to make em for me.

Seems so since there isn’t any on the TP, and I think that the marauders I crafted were account bound.

Marauder is expensive to craft, the Ebony Orbs used in the crafting process are crazy Expensive. But at the very least you’ll have access to it from the Master Crafter, as they sell Marauder and Crusader recipes for Karma.

Now Viper’s is Auric Basin-based. Gotta buy the Insignia/Inscription/Jewels recipes from the Exalted Vendors and find Armor/Weapon recipes in the Chests beneath Tarir after the Meta-event has been done.

Warrior – Wardancer | Guardian – Lorekeeper | Revenant – Vindicator |
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |

I actually don’t know where to get most marauder recipes. For now, I’m assuming that it is done via recipe discovery like the other sets, as the only recipes I can find anywhere are for the exquisite jewels and base insignia/inscription.

Viper’s sets are gathered from Auric Basin. You have to gather Lumps of Aurillium to buy the base jewel, insignia, and inscription recipes. Then, you can get the specific recipes for each armor piece by opening chests underneath of Tarir, or buying them off of the TP.

For specific materials, Ebony Jewels and Black Diamonds are found in chests on these maps. So you’ll need Chak Acid, Pact Crowbars, and Exalted Keys.

I don’t have opinions. I only have facts I can’t adequately prove.

Ok so yeah, Marauder recipes atleast as far as exotic pieces go is done by discovery, easy peasy. The insignias are a bit pricey because of the ebony orbs but those things have been coming down in price pretty steadily.

The title says it all. How does one with no armor crafting go about acquiring Marauder and Viper gear?

Without armor crafting?
1. Drop ascendent chest.
2. Select armor piece with any stats
3. Craft Viper/Marauder insignia
4. Change stats on armor piece.
Looks like it is a best way to get gear with this stats.

For the discovery bits, do you use the normal armor pieces or oiled armor pieces?

More importantly, how the hell did they add four new stat combos and not have Apostate’s be one of them?

Right near the entrance of Auric Basin on the Verdant Brink side and inside Tarir near the waypoint. You’ll need the appropriate mastery to buy the items from them.
