So I saved up some gold to buy a set of dire armor. I did not have enough so I sold whatever I could to get enough (my current armor could not be salvaged). After finally being able to buy the armor, I totally forgot about weapons and trinkets but I already had less than 1 gold. I ended up selling the dire armor and putting back on my old armor(I now had less gold due to selling fees and things).

An hour later after creating a new character, I purchased a cool helmet with my remaining gold for him and was going through my bank for cool things for him to wear when I realized something-

There was an entire set of Dire armor and weapons sitting in my bank -______-

I know I made plenty of ridiculous decisions in this story but I thought it would be fun to start a thread for those who had one of those kitten moments.

But hey, at least I have some cool goggles now!

Yeah love those, those ‘doh!’ or ‘Ohhh shhh..t!’ moments.

I’d planned out a set of specific armour, finally collected enough dungeon tokens, opened up the vendor, made sure I had my mouse over the one with the stats I wanted and double click!—YES, I want to purchase!-click! … go to equip… this armour type does not suit your profession… (@@_@@);

lol all of these are beating mine.

Okay, this was not my doing but I was part of it.

We did a golem rush in wvw a looong time ago. The commander ran off the cliff and died. EVERYONE including the golems followed him and all but a few died. x.x

I savaged my Traveller’s set for a set of knight’s. Shortly there after they got rid of Traveller’s I could have had a free other set.
Bought an exotic shield on my Thief for my Engie to put the Super Skin on it. The shield became soulbound to my Thief.
Deleted my first mesmer but kept her Super Staff thinking I could transmogrify it. You can guess how that went.

I once wasted all my current CoE and CoF tokens on a full armor set. Of the wrong category. I’ve done one or two pieces before, but never a whole, stinking Armor set. Luckily, this was after the patch that made Dungeon Armor account bound on acquire, so I could stuff it in my bank, but maaaaaaaaaaan did that kitten me the right off when I realized there was a load of red text stating “you can’t wear this armor!” in the item description.

Warrior – Wardancer | Guardian – Lorekeeper | Revenant – Vindicator |
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |

I accidentally listed a ton of t6 materials for 1 silver when I was trying to set the price. Someone bought them instantly…

Way back, when I only had a sylvari necro, I was crazy bored with her armor. On previewing T3 sets, I fell in love with what I saw and I wondered, how come I hadn’t gotten it before. I managed to buy chest and legs, before I realized that it was medium armor…. That was before they put in the warning text…

But I think my biggest goof was when I started my own personal guild, gathered influence for a guild bank by doing Claw Island on several characters, waited the many days it takes to build it. When it was finally ready, I went happily to deposit the tons of fractal trings I had. And it turned out you cannot put account bound things there… So there I was, with a lovely personal guild bank and nothing to put inside..

Another beauty was when I decided to gamble on the mystic forge when the game was relatively new. Bought 100 superior runes of the necromancer (yes superior) with all the gold I had and tried to forge them, hoping for more expensive ones. YAY, the toilet does not take superior runes. So, not only was I stuck with the stupid runes, I managed to mess up their prices for a day or two. Took me quite a while to get rid of them.

Thought that like the reward chest skins you could just use skins over and over once you’d gotten a skin for your character. You can transmute, but having an awesome looking dragon helmet that’s actually some crud level 15 one is kinda lame.

Yeah I have done that one… Talk about a disappointment.
