What’s inappropriate to you is probably not inappropriate to the usual guy, it is just your religious perogative to not like certain words. Telling people to report everything they do not like will make for a messy reporting-system.

I’m not sure how or why you brought religion into this, but whatever the reason, if a moderator asks you to behave it’s generally bad form to talk back; and it is absolutely bad form to blame their religion for your disagreement.

Maybe think before you respond next time.

The only …“funny” name I’ve made is probably my Asura Guardian named Krewles da Cling On.

The coolest name and player I have seen many times would go to the Asura called Hotdog with Mustard

My two “serious” names are:

Rou Marigold Harper (Marigold is a man, only his mother calls him Rou)

The last time I checked, forums were for the express purpose of expressing personal opinions. There’s nothing about his message that is “talking back”, he expressed a view every bit as appropriate as that of the moderator’s. Stop trying to be a mini moderator.

I love how the westen support freedom of speech and how we talk about tolerance.. And still use censorship and get offended by names :b
I get that you shouldn’t try to offend people directly, but also sometimes ppl needs to lighten a bit up^^ I often come across racial comments, but hey calling a toon “Black man” and make him black is not offending, just lack of creaticity, maybe even dumb:) “black man” making him white is just a cheap shot of irony.

Any reference to Islam should not be allowed… Why? Because we know that they are more serious about their religion and it really offend them, so we shouldn’t poke the bear here tbh, even though it contradict what I might alrdy stated, some ppl don’t got humour when it comes to certain issues..

Like in my country we kinda make it a sport to find the limit, if you heard about Jimmy Carr well you know he got no limites, it is from ambusing child, kitten and religion.. Sme say it is stupid, but the way he deliever it is great:)

I haven’t seen any fun names:/ think they got forced to change name (another victory for freedom). I myself use more racial names and therefor mostly roll humans cause kitten Azura names I got no glues…
Also should I name my toon “Moss Roam” it would just annoy me:/ but like to see other ppl come up with clever or dumb reference:) if I find it funny it is a win, if not well others might:D and that is important, not the names, but that you enjoy most aspects in the game^^

While it might be amusing to you that someone named their ranger pet after your favorite obscure character from the Star Wars Extended Universe, puns definitely have much more mass appeal, despite being the lowest form of humor.

EDIT If you want something slightly more cerebral, I’ve got a Norn Warrior named Carolus Wrex. Combining a small pun and a reference to a Swedish historical figure that nobody would get. I find it amusing, but most other people don’t. Hence, I did not post it here. But, after all, you asked.

Then … how about adding some of the great, serious, names you’ve seen? I added both of my serious names and I’m quite fond of both of them. There’s no reason you can’t turn this into a “best serious names and puns” thread – aside from your unwillingness to do so.

I named my Asura “Bookah’s aint Skritt,” Needless to say I put him in a one man guild named Big Booty Bookah’s.

My Asura girls:

Rhose Petals, Necromancer
Snap Dragons, Elementalist
Giggles Blaster, Engineer

None of these so far compare to the Ritualist name I saw in GW1…
