Bloodbath & Beyond?? I was in a LotRO (PvM) guild with that name.

I don’t usually tend to give my characters silly names, but I do give them to my pets.

Ranger – Kyxha Syadistine is followed around by a Jungle Stalker named Ms Kitty Fantastico, a Moa named Dinoindaskies and a shark called Fluffy (I was mightily disappointed to see in the Ranger pet name thread that there’s a few sharks with that name… and even more disappointed to see a certain event boss with it as well).

I’m tempted to make a Charr Elementalist or Mesmer named Miss Kitty Fantastico or maybe a Guardian named Summy Buffers. Willow Roseandburn would make for a nice Elementalist Sylvari. Ripper Giles would make for a great name. Yes, I do watch Buffy a lot…

My Necro is Sokar Rostau, which is a modified version of an Egyptian god of the underworld (Sokar, Lord of Rostau).

My Elementalist is named Symbaoe, which is the archaic spelling of Zimbabwe.

All three names, and a few more, are ones I have used for characters for about 15 years and they’re always similar builds within the limits of the game.

One thing I hope Anet considers as far as their fairly strict naming policy..

Using a celebrity or historical figure or copyrighted fictional character’s name or intentionally mispelling it in a way that’s not a parody might be something that has to get changed…

but I hope that PARODY names that took some wit to come up with are let slide. It is fair use if it’s a parody.

A Human named Clint Eastwood might have to get changed (liability and all that)

But a Charr named Clint Beastwood? I really hope that can stay.

Anybody who actually reports “offensive” names or names that offended them neeeds to chill out. The Game has this great feature called “Blocking” if u block a person u don’t see any post/chat in game from said blocked people. Congradulations go on with ur GW2 experiance and have fun its really not affecting ur gameplay at all.

My Ranger’s Gonna have a Krytan Drakehound: Scooby Doo. Armor Fish: Dory. Blue Jellyfish: Squishy. I coulda sworn they had a Juvenile Sea Turtle, but they don’t otherwise I woulda named him Crash.

I saw a Sylvari named Cheza.

Saw an Asura Guardian named “Nye Invincible” yesterday. Just think of all the ways a guardian has to get protection.

yes I know it’s really Nigh, but the effect was still there.

Saw a mesmer today named “wrong clone” made me chuckle ;-)

I abandoned Giant Enemy Charr and the thief Kill Death Ratio because Anet embarked on this crusade to wipe out unfitting names and people got automatically banned for 3 days just because 3 people reported them. I didn’t want to run the risk of someone reporting me because their sense of immersion wkittentered harder by Giant Enemy Charr than by the fact that they just took 20 bombs to the face and didn’t die.

So I ended up with Oskoreia which is Norse for Wild Hunt etc etc yawn. Boring.

At least I have the freedom to name my pet bears: Broken and Overpowered.

I like my Rich Gold Vein raven. I’ve also seen a Lawn Moa, a spider called Peter Parker, a drake named Godzilla Jr, Headcrab the devourer and a pig known as Bacon Mc Oink

I had a bear named Bearack Obearma. He kicked kitten even though I deleted my ranger at level 3.

Some ranger had a pet spider called Steven Hawking.

Sasha Grey. Who would believe that she would become a hero???

I have a Charr Mesmer called “Procol Harum”

And I saw a norn called Didier Drogba, I’ve actually seen a few named after football players.

My Ranger has a Krytan Drakehound called Sir Francis. Not exactly a topical reference, but Elizabethan history buffs may allow themselves a chuckle.

Sadly, most of the best names Ive seen are ones that were swiftly banned.

I myself do not have any offensive names, but when I see people post threads on the forum wondering why their account was banned, and then post their names…it cracks me up. Even though they are offensive, and I find some of them offensive myself, they still make me laugh.

Maybe its the fact that these people are really wondering why they were banned, haha.

It seems odd that the majority of names in this thread actually fail the naming guidelines… Sometimes on more than one point…

I read in map chat about how someone named their character “Google”, though I’m not sure if it was in GW2. So every time someone asked a question and people replied “Ask Google”, he’d answer.

I named my mesmer Nondescript Guard… I get a chuckle out of it, not sure if anyone else does. And my Asuran Thief is Four Ofour.

I have two characters I thought would be worth mentioning.

A Charr Guardian named Iron Charrdian and a Human Engineer named Doctor Who.

I see names that make me giggle almost every day, unfortunately, I am getting old and forget them fast.. But the Sylvari named Miso Thorny stays with me, cause I like 3rd grade humor

DeathbySanta has to be the best playername that I have seen so far. It makes it even better knowing that the character looks like Santa as well.

I think the best name I’ve seen so far was a little Asura running around named Serious Mhz. Was race appropriate and if you know what MHZ stands for it’s even funnier.

Warrior named ‘Have Gun Will Gate’. Although I suspect the reference is lost on many people.

My friend has a Norn named Borr Stormbelch.

Not to be outdone, I have a Norn named Jasna Bearpuncher.

Human mesmer: Faye Forrest. Sounds pretty nice.

As I really like the Asura race I’ve decided to make all of my main characters Asura and also decided upon a similar naming convention for each of them.

Delusionalshrimp – Asura mesmer
Mechäshrimp – Asura Engineer
Buffaloshrimp – Asura Elementalist
Deathshrimp – Asura Necromancer

After reading book 1 of: The Sword of Truth i had to name my mesmer: Mord-Sith. But that one was taken ^^ so i combined two of my favorite lore designs in 1 name:
-Mord Razac Sith
Also Razac was taken :(((((((((
So now i still have Ra Zac, which is actually a more accurate spelling of the name anyways, i’m only missing the “’” <- ^_^
Besides those 2 i have:
-Roarac = Norn Ele
-Mccrack = Charr Thief
-Raz o Rac = Charr Necro
Will get more char slots in the future for sure.

I have a couple of chars

Ranger called – Melandru Barrymoore (she went into rehab having dabbled with plant fibres in GW1)

Guardian called – Major Catastrophe

and an Asura called – Psst I am Down Here

I’d hope so too. Sure most people will get that it’s a reference to Clint Eastwood, but it’s not direct use of the name itself, so unless Anet are being overly cautious I don’t see why they’d change these names, since they’re not inherently offensive (at least I don’t see how).

Also apparently more people thought of the Clint Beastwood one, because I a Charr spelled “Clynt Beastwood” the other day. It made me smile.

In the end I settled for Bucklebolt.

I was able to get the name “Assembly Language” as a char name and guildname. Also “Boneless Spare Ribs” and I’m planning to make a guild named “Chinese Food [MENU]” if I can get those people who registered “Wonton Soup” and “Chicken Broccoli” and “Egg Foo Young” to contact me in forums
