are revenants better characters then others? are they superior atr all in wvw? any links to read or info to answer these questions be much apprecaited

They are a strong class overall, but they have strengths and weaknesses like any other class. They were designed to be at the same overall power level as the others and will be balanced in the future as such.

oh so they are a little better then others for now? not being balanced and all? what bout in wvw are they built for wvw? unlike other classes? noticed when readfing bout it it mentions the mists a lot like it wehere built for wvw or somthin

There’s already been some balancing, if I recall, and some of their skills have been reduced. I don’t think the profession is going to give you a big advantage which seems to be what you’re getting at. And from what I understand, their underwater skills are more limited than other professions. Just go with whatever you like.

does a ton of spike damage, healing can be a challenge with a power spike / zerker build. Timing is essential with it, else you will find yourself low on heals waiting for next power spike skill to recharge – it’s kind of like pulses of burst damage, you have to know when to back off and jump in. it’s a bit more technical than most classes because the skills are so tightly knit ..and each skill has it’s purpose and proper time of use….so using skills in their proper sequence matters …. It can also play a strong team supportive role as a herald . like any class, it needs a certain play style to make the most of it. – powerful in the right hands.

To answer your question, yes Rev is the best class.

In my opinion they were fun until the last Nerf, I went back to Mesmer, Ranger, and Thief… Of course they also Nerfed the Mesmer recently but at least I am familiar enough with the class to adjust my limits on the mesmer class..

Correction:

Baseline Revenant is Bottom Tier in everything.

Elite Specialization Herald is God Tier (In PvP) and Great Tier (In PvE). No idea where it stands in WvW currently.

More precisely, the Herald elite specialization is what makes Revenant desired in a team setting because it has the unique Facet of Nature buff, along with some incredibly strong Boon Support and immense self-sustain through traits and Shield.

It still falls short in some areas and cannot really replace any other profession with ease while in Raids (Save for maybe a Dragonhunter, but that’s at a serious DPS loss in comparison to having a Dragonhunter along).

In PvP, Herald is currently one of the meta-definers along with Reaper and it’s currently the strongest overall contender due to being relatively easy to play and having a good balance between offense and sustain.

I think that in PvP is one of the hardest class to master; much much harder than Eles or Mesmers, at least on par with Thieves and in my experience maybe they are a close call with Engineers in terms of how much dexteriry and awareness the require.
