Just wanted to drop a quick note that I am still bouncing around. I haven’t be online a lot lately (work related travel) and I can’t seem to catch Lexy online for the life of me to get a guild invite.

Still definitely interested in being part of Union and seeing if I can’t get some more SBIs on as well. I’ll try to get online a little more, one of the major problems I’m having now is I’m still tinkering with the game trying to pick a class rather than playing it through…..

Just to double check Helequin, have you checked in the Guild Panel to see if the Legion is there as a guild for you to represent? I’m not sure it sends you a specific invite/mail (I can’t remember…must be my age!). To access your Guild Panel just press G in game.

@Helequin posted a bit of PvE advice in your thread. WvW is a bit of a mess like in a real battle build doesn’t really have that much of an effect for me as it’s just gang up on one dude rinse repeat.

Hello Aeleniel. Would you like an invitation to the guild? I don’t think there’s currently a list of who is where, but that might not be a bad idea. What server did you choose?
Regardless of server we all chat together and answer questions, as well as run dungeons and sometimes hang out in lion’s arch overflow. I’m sure any of us would be happy to help you out with anything you’d like to know about the game.

@Kaii – KILL ITTTTTTTTT.. i mean. keep it as a pet. and haha yea Kaii is the worst at leading dungeons XDDDDD for which whom without, we wouldn’t have been able to make it through CM story ; ))) now let’s go do the rest of the dungeon stories. i know @G is up for it. i.e. @Kit is up for it too!

@Aeleniel – welcome!! : ))) how are you enjoying gw2 so far? am at work now, but am sure an invite will be sent your way soon! ; )) looking forwar to catching you online as well. in regards to the list.. do you mean the list of servers in the guild? the guild that Operation: Union (this collective of friendly, and peculiar, group of players) is a part of is called the Legion of Honour [XIII] and we’re mainly cross server : ))) a good standing in Gunnar’s Hold, Isle of Janthir, and all over! we’re looking to take over Tyria ; ))) since guesting isn’t available yet, some of us have been able to do cross server dungeons. if not, we just chat with one another while we’re on. not sure if that answers your question though lol XPP

@DEK – i’m slowly grinding my way towards a legendary. lol. ‘tis the long process! but it will awesome when i finally do get it. haha and ascended.. we’ll see how that goes. the fractals can be fun though but more focused on getting my dungeon exotics first hehe. i had to spend gold to get fine transmutation stones : (( but my vanity >> in-game wealth lol so i splurged a bit. somehow, my wife got close to 20 from chests!! O____o

Slowly getting the map completion done. All thats left is:

- Timberline Falls
- Sparkfly Fen
- Mount Maelstrom
- Straits of Devastation
- Malchor’s Leap
- Cursed Shore

I’ve been reading that the finaal zones are empty/bugged and such. Hopefully this won’t impede my progress much and once that is done I might start focusing on doing dungeons.

@ Notts:
What I usually buy/sell are Tier 1-4 common crafting materials. The profits on these is usually small, but they are almost always in demand.

note: I don’t have the ability to test it very well, now that the 7 day locks are here, but part of the price fluctuation I noticed may have been due to transfers between the US and Germany datacenters. Perhaps EU and US have separate Trading Posts?

@Death – which server are you again? a lot of the temple events are “bugged” in Orr, so mainly the level 80 zone. but not to the point that you won’t be able to map complete. the only thing is, these maps have become increasingly barren.. (curse you fraactals!! grrr lol) and certain Skillpoints are harder to get to, sinc eyou need to sit there and commune. bring a party member or two and should make your job lot easier. grats and hope you get there soon!D i love the first three areas you’ve listed there : ))

@Nels – ahh.. that’s interesting. as mentioned, i’ve always heard it was global. at the same time, i’ve never switched servers before either. now that you mention it, perhaps there is a difference between EU and NA TP’s? have you ever checked what currencies are available to purchase the gems on the store with are? that might be some indication as well.

and yes, in large quantities, you can probs make some good money if you happen to catch on some fast moving low tier mats.

@akamon I’m on the Crystal Desert server. Since I am from Australia I have found that this server to be fairly good – I’ve done some research prior to figure out which server would suit my position and playability.

Yeah I have read a fair bit on Orr. Sounds like many people dislike the last three areas. But, like you said, a small group (guild) would be a good idea – perhaps, those areas are made for group/guild play rather than trying to solo.

@Lexy: Got it now! Thanks, I may have just missed it the first time because of the name…XD.

That definitely answers my question! I’m on the Eredon Terrace (US) server right now, but if there’s a way to swap servers, I’m certainly not wedded to this one.

@Death – oh nice we’re in similar timezone at least. Hong Kong here, so three hours behind ya. ; )) and that’s awesome and glad to hear ya like it there!

Orr isn’t as bad as people make it sound. but the Putrifiers (?) can get pretty annoying because of their pulls. and just.. really dense mobs. it is more than soloable, but definitely helpful and less stressful to have a small party running together lol

@Aeleniel / Kaii – that’s good! : )) and definitely a good idea to have a list of some sorts. the best we have right now is to read through all 14 pages and note where everyone’s from lol. there is a website being put in the works, so when that rolls out, it’ll be easier to see. either way though, Aelenial, once you’re in the guild, you can see which world everyone is from, talk to peeps and am sure any of our servers would more than welcome you if you do plan to move! : )))

@bri – practice makes perfect.
While playing solo is easy for content that was designed for solo with some jumping in on a running event, dungeons were designed for a group of 5 people attacking togather. This is a huge difference in how you attack, what you focus on, and when to use each ability.
Failure, however, does not mean you play bad.
In our particular run, I think the main issue was with my level 7 and level 37 friends trying to take on FoM.
I did FoM yesterday with a level 80 group, and we got the water part. One of us left due to many deaths to the piranhas, and we made it 4 people with no one even going downed on the boss.
got some nice loots, and the 3 globes of ectoplasm togather with a Vial of Condensed Mists Essence and lots more drops made the run more tahn worth while.

However, I do see it as something that should be fun.
From several mmos I tried, gw2 is the only one not forcing groups while allowing a vast majority of the content. You do have to play with others to get to all, but not to form groups.

@Glitch – I’m currently playing with a friend who is level 37 and haven’t done the ac story yet. This is due to us not able to separate the lovers long enough to get one of them down.
We decided that either we do it guild run, or pass this one till higher levels, he’s at CM level cap soon, so no biggie.
We didn’t find at the time we tried it, people from the guild to come help us.

@jjc – welcome JJ!! : DDD lol. did you actually read through all 14 pages in one go???? if so, /salute + bow + cheer. that is a feat larger than taking on a champion cave troll on your own. someone’ll send you an invite soon! and don’t worry Aurora Glade is the home of our very own Glitch! ; ))) and he can definitely show you the ropes of a few dungeons. a good number of EU folk on here as well ; )))

nice to hear you’ve been taking it slow hehe. ele is a tough class to master! but they seem super fun. looking forward to seeing you online!

@omerk – did you use the boulders?D i was on boulder duty the entire time lol. when we did it, we had two bouldering Vassar (sp?), while the other 3 kept the other one occupied. we did wipe once and eventually got it the second time.

@akamon – I may have skipped a few pages and hooray! at least there are some people here… my first server was Seafarer’s Rest and it got a bit boring to be honest. Thank You!

Also, i’m on Steam for Skyrim (love the Workshop) and prefer my mods to come from there (easy up to date system, yes, i’m lazy )

@ Noppy use Nexus Mod Manager! I use Skyrim Nexus but I’m used to manual installs or using NMM. The instructions are nice and eay to follow.

@Glitch, yes we tried using the boulders. We got the girl to 7% health, and wiped.
From that point, every time someone rezed, they went right into the fight, getting themselves killed before we could even discuss.

The sad thing is that I find so many fail groups for story, while exp is done easily.
For now, I find fractals low levels to be easier than ac story at that particular point.

I thought it’s my WoW tanking habits which make me used to standing rooted and have the boss glued to me while the healers keep me alive.
Threat is soooo different in gw2, and clearly I haven’t figured it out.

We were 2 rangers on vessar stunning him, bouldering him, and LoS him.

@Glitch: yea, i know about Nexus mod manager, gonna check it out later again (did it before but then my laptop went…. well, you know that story) and up till now i haven’t yet checked it out again.

The V and R are a pain in the collective butt for unprepared groups and big wigs that think they can take everything on by themselves.

If that happens I get the rest of the group to fall back while the idiot racks up a repair bill!

Me and my bro couldn’t stop laughing as we played pass the boulder on V. You can get a boulder and stand each end of V and throw 1 boulder b/w each other.

If you want a challenge I challenge you to run a dungeon Ex in the skivvies!
It’s pretty difficult.
Story is okay but haven’t done that in ages plus melee only. :O

As I said before Glitch, I had a great run last night of FoM, and we got the water twice, both times cleared it, first time with only 4 people.

The annoying thing about the lovers is that it’s not killing them that makes it a challenge, it’s the aggro mechanic that is difficult to get by that makes it a challenge.

Anyway, tonight we’ll be playing, and we’ll be happy to get some help to pass ac story, and if there’s time, we’ll happily do exp mode run.

If we won’t get out help, we’ll try to get him to level 40 and go CM.

Yea the aggro in general is a bit wishy washy. FoM is fun but I’ll stick with helping friends level atm.

@Aeleniel: Don’t leave me! It’s pretty lonely on ET, but that just means there’s never a queue for WvW. I have characters between level 14 and 80 (with a tail-heavy distribution).

@akamon: Best of luck on the Legendary. With how broken Orr is right now, maybe it’s wise to take your sweet time… unless you wanted some Arah gear. I’ll probably end up having to buy some fine transmutation stones, too. I feel like my husband got all of them from his chests/dailies and now there’s none left in the RNG for me!

@Death: Husband and I 100%ed Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore, so even though stuff is bugged, you can still get to it (though rezzing at waypoints becomes part of the strategy). It’s best to have a party member or two though just to deal with all the random mobs. If they implement guesting before you’re done, look me up!

@Noppy: Nice! I’ve seen a lot of people have been choosing Nvidia these days, and Intel’s i series is a good choice. Can you actually run all that on a 600W power supply comfortably? (well, I guess you can if it turns on and runs video games). I’m not at my gaming pc ATM, so I can’t look up what mods I have turned on, but I use Vurt’s Flora for nature, use XCE for better faces, and I have a basement for the Whiterun house. I also have a mod that turns the abandoned shack east of Whiterun into a buildable house, but it’s annoying to not have vendors nearby. I also run the dangerous combo of BOTH Nexus Mod Manager and Steamworks, with a preference for steamworks.

@omerk: I’ll take piranhas over dolphins any day. So far the most frustrating fractal for me is the Dredge one.

Have you all noticed how confusing this thread can get? People talking about the most random things…. I almost feel sorry for newcomers having to wade through it. CANNOT wait for website!!! And Guesting!!!

Had some fun convos last night. Really enjoyed it. Dragging one of our guildies to jumping puzzles… always fun. But he got upset at the end of some story, stripped naked and jumped off a balcony. Logged dead. It was priceless.

I’m okay at jumping puzzles, but I like having time to stop and look. The Southsun Cove one is too fast-paced for me right now, and I didn’t even bother with the Clocktower.

I haven’t tried many, I loved the clock tower very gratifying when you get it down!
I do agree sometimes judging stuff is a bit tricky just because of the weird angles. :P

Not an expert on the best builds or how to squeeze one more half point of Crit damage, I think I do alright, and mostly just like to have fun in game
