Q:

What do you guys think would have to happen to make this heal as viable as other wells and heals in the game? I think it transferring condis would be neat.

keep the initial on cast self heal but replace the healing tics with ‘’allies that are standing in this well siphon health equal to 20% damage they deal but deal 20% less damage’’ reduce cd to 30 seconds.
This plays more in to the whole vampire health siphon side of necromancer and makes the well unique compared to the mesmer heal well which your suggestion turns it in to.

Not gonna flame you, but this is a god awful idea. Reducing the damage allies deal in an area by 20%? For a measly 20% Damage-to-healing conversion? In PvE it’d be out the window instantly and in PvP you’d just get Stunlocked so the heal would be 100% ineffective, and when you do get to fight back you’ll deal 20% less damage than the opposing force.

Sure, it’d help thematically, but nothing good would come of it and in no way would it be anywhere close to competative in PvP.

Among the many ways the Well could be fixed, here are a few ideas.

Version 1: The Spike Healing Well

  • Initial Self-heal remains the same.
  • Healing Power scaling on Pulsing Heal increased by 25%.
  • Initial Self-Heal and Pulsing Heal is now increased depending on Health Level of their targets. Base Healing increases by 25% When below 50% HP, and 50% when below 75% HP.
  • Cast Time reduced to 1/2s. Cooldown remains the same.

Pros: High Healing at lower health levels to off-set the long Cooldown.
Cons: Long Cooldown, very timing-dependant.

Version 2: Reliable Healing Well

  • Initial Self Healing (Base) reduced by 33% (Down to ~3500HP)
  • Pulsing Heal (Base) reduced by 25% (Down to 210)
  • Scaling with Healing Power increased by 20% for Initial Self Heal, 12.5% for Pulsing Heal.
  • Cast Time reduced to 1/4s, Cooldown reduced to 25s.

Pros: More reliable uptime on the Well in return for lower Base healing. Short Cast Time makes it quick and reliable in a clutch team fight.
Cons: Lower Healing values over the board. Less instant healing in return for more sustainable healing.

Version 3: Boon Well

  • Initial Self Healing (Base) remains the same.
  • Pulsing Heal (Base) reduced by 30% (Down to 196).
  • Scaling with Healing Power decreased by 12.5% for Pulsing Heal.
  • Is now a Water Field. Grants Regeneration for 2s (Base) with each Pulse
  • Cast Time reduced to 1/2s, Cooldown reduced to 30s.

Pros: Grants Necro access to a Water Field. Regeneration synergizes with Blighter’s Boon. Grants some sustain outside of Shroud and increases Party Support ability.
Cons: Would require further changes to other skills to be effective, such as giving the Necromancer access to more Combo Finishers.

I’m using the heal right now. And actually it’s one of the quickest heals to cast.

This. If you’re using Runes of the Chronomancer, it gives quickness too.

and if youre traited wells with chrono runes, you probably alredy have the 3 more useful ones in utlities,
meaning slotting this useless 7k heal vs 8k+X consume is a very efficient way to die.

The heal will NEVER work in pvp, its only for PVE maybe.
-full condi clear
-same healing + lifeforce if spammed shout
-tiny heal for allies + zero cleanse + zero lifeforce

It should finally become a water field for WVW AND heal in shroud at least.
, but without a pulsing cleanse, it has nothing you need. but with cleanse it would clearly beat well of power.

I can so see people trolling with the 20% damage reduction.
