I am just trying to get these stupid achieves done. But half the teams I get are plain stupid and worthless. Other times you get paired up by teams who are way more experienced or synching (solo arena). There are too many factors in it to make 8 tpvp wins a day a realistic goal.
After 90min of trying I got 2 team wins and 0 solo wins.
Sudden, put your mouse on that +2Ap, and you willl see a nice 200/200 while reward say +2, you get 0 once you have got 250AP from it.
And the problem here is not the amount of AP gaigned/lost, but the time it take to do theses new daylies. Daylies have to be able to be done fast, you sould not need to play 3 hours to do 4 daylies. The whole problem is here.

This isn’t about easy or hard, it’s about time. I’d love to see more hard permanent achievements. I’m just strongly against temporary achievements especially when it gets as ridiculous as it is now. Requiring 6 hours of play every single day, no exceptions. There are other ways to make it “harder” that would be much more acceptable.

Where did I say that the devs “suck”? In fact I was trying to be respectful towards devs in the post where I was talking about quiting. Read it again. And yes, this thing is something that might make me quit. Different people quit over different things. I am not qutting becouse I didnt got a silver pony. I might quit becouse the recent change hits my playstyle in place where it hurts the most. There are very few things that could make me quit GW2 in its current state. Very few. This is one of those things.

I would say we are putting forward pretty valid arguments and concerns, I don’t see very much direct flaming. I’m 4400 hours into the game, involved in all three gametypes. 70000 kills in WvW, Ransacker in sPvP (without glory farm) with peak ranks of top 50 in both soloQ and teamQ, Dungeon Master and experienced with speed clears. On top of that I have pretty much every achievement I can do so far in the Living Story. If I didn’t care about the game I wouldn’t go on to the forums and express my concerns about the game. But here I am, because I truly do care. I have also done so before. If you look at my post history you’ll see a thread I made about the achievement system over a year ago. I always had a bit of faith that someday it could change for the better. However, over the past few months I’ve only seen it change for the worse. If valid points can’t get our concerns across, and there is no change to be seen. Then how can you expect us to tolerate it over such an extended period of time when there are more new projects around the corner that may reel us in with new hope of finding a good MMO achievement system for once?
Since launch we have only had one update that did anything to better the system, and that was capping Hobby Dungeon and Agents of Entropy back in April. It still has a long way to go and we could get it there if the devs would listen to us.,
got 3 team wins and 0 solo wins after 2.5hours. I think the 5 solo wins will be impossible in 31 min

Btw, just for logic purposes, they ask us to do 8 wins per day, but 20 wins per month ? How that’s logic ?

This is kittening redicilous, i’ve done my daily every single kittening day since launch nearly and I’m currently in the top 170 ranks. Now, I thought World Ranker was bad since it increased wvw dailies by 10x the effort, this is BEYOND bad, 8 WINS, not 8 games… but 8 WINS. They just added 2-3 hours to the daily if not more and just took a kitten on every person that did every single daily for the past year.
This is unacceptable and I will be quitting over stupid updates like this. I’m not going to dedicate myself to a game so they can try to get me to play another 3 hours a kittening day, some of us have jobs and families and if this was your plan from launch then we should have known this in advance, I would have saved 2 hours a day for the past year+ on dailies.
As someone pointed out, those 4 points a year are 1500 points+ and that makes a huge difference. We shouldn’t have to play 5 hours a day to get our daily complete. Simply kitten this.

Not only 20 wins per month, but you can also get the wins wherever you want: hotjoin, solo queue or team queue.

Since achievement points now award skins, it’s no longer only interesting for people who farm it, there’s a reason for other people to get to 3k or 6k achievements, and among those people are the regular pvpers that deserver the skins just as much as you and for whom these new dailies are easy to complete and come naturally. Achievement points DO NOT belong to you. I’m pretty sure these dailies were made to rewards PVP PLAYERS, not you that already have 10k+ achievements, but THE PVP PLAYERS that are playing since release and have 2k achievement points.

What made them to bring this “boost” again and even in more harsh form? All I am asking for is a couple of sentences from Arena to confirm the intention.
PS. You said that their intention was to reward PvP-only players. My guess is, their intention is to shoehorn more players into solo and team queues. Who is right and who is wrong?

I am wondering this, too. I just browsed to quite a few pages of this pvp forum and didnt find a single thread asking for more pvp dailies, let alone dailies which take 2 hours (queue times rarely instant) to complete even if you have a 8 game winstreak.

There are plenty of other ways to do that more efficiently by adding permanent points into the system. Most pvp players won’t get the dailies on a daily basis either cause of how time consuming they are, and I say that cause I am a pvp player who also happens to like achievements.
If it really is Anet’s intent to discourage an entire community of completionists then so be it. But what you say is for us the same as it would be to add PvE events to sPvP matches just because PvP isn’t specifically for PvP players, they wanted to give PvE players something in PvP too. Now perhaps that makes you realise how absurd and pointless your statement is.

You must complete them all if you want to rank up high on the leaderboards, now ANET is basically saying for those who already spend 1.5-3 hours a day to complete all the acheivements to spend an additional 3+ hours on top of it.

Achievement Point are in the game just for that and there is a leaderboards to it. People are kitten ed because of the amount of time involved to do it now compared to yesterday, not that fact that you have to win. Hard achievements are fine, but making dailies take 6 hours a day instead of 2-3 is just stupid.

Also comparing PvE and PvP players together as far as achievements go doesn’t make any sense. PvE has way more content and that means its going to have more achievements period. You can say the same for WvW then too.
Now if you are talking about dailies, then okay fine, add some achievements that don’t take 3 hours to do then.
Also add in PvP seasons like they did in WvW.

The WvW players I talk to are super happy to be rid of them.
all daily pvp achievements = 3-5 hours = 2-3 gold
i guess even a player who plays pvp exclusively would have a hard time getting all
i dont mind the extra pvp dailies but requiring wins in tourneys is just wrong

2500+ tourney games , rank 51, rank 100 leaderboard… if uve surpassed any of those then ill gladly admit that i play pvp for achievements only

Following that argument you can add so many dailies you have no chance at completing them all, at which point the act of “completionism” isn’t even there because it is impossible to do so, thus turning off a lot of players. I don’t even know why you feel the need to comment when you obviously don’t even care one bit about achievement hunting or the point system in general. The fact that you come here to point out that you laugh at our misforune is what I find funny.
This is pretty much stab into back for all achievment hunters. I play TPvP every day but I refuse to be forced into wins. I havent stable team and waiting for win in solo Q is super frustrating. Achievment hunting was last thing what keep me playing and I was proud I never miss anything since headstart.
What do you Anet even thinking?

I have 3 slaves for that. First as engine for home-made manual generator, second use smoke signals when wi-fi comes out (he has actualy pretty good ping) and last one plays. I havent friends to call. I dont need them I have achievments!

I like this daily. This is one thing in the game that AP farmers can’t abuse, yet. It also makes all TA and SA games a lot more interesting. Queues are shorter and teams are more diverse.
Man you are wrong. Only result of this are tons of noobs and pve players in team arenas. Diverse is today word for killing noobs?

These new dailies were clearly designed to give hardcore PvP players more APs that other players cant reasonably get. Casual PvPer? Too bad for you.
If Anet wants to bring more people in tPvP these dailies won’t work, they’re just way too long and the reward is way too small (1AP).
If Anet wants to reward PvP players with more AP it’s fine, but there are better ways to do so, like giving more reasonable options for daily PvP or/and merging Pve and PvP AP rewards (like the current laurel system).
I strongly recommend everyone in this thread to read this suggestion . It would address the issue we AP-hunters have with the dailies while giving PvPers the same rewards than PvEers. Since currencies from PvE and PvP are to be merged, I dont see any reason left to have separate daily rewards.
My suggestion:
- Change the current 3 matches played daily to 3 matches won.
- Consolidate the solo and team into one “tournaments” daily, but make it matches played instead of won. Same quantities as the current solo queue daily would be fine I think.

This is my very own and absolutely honest opinion about this achievement thingy: I can’t care less.
Never cared about achievements, they just pop up sometimes on my screen and I’m always surprised. Yay, another achievement!
Never cared about skins. They don’t give me advantage, so it doesn’t matter for me if I’ll kill somebody with a simple steel sword or my sword will blink in pink and spread feathers and parfume while I’m killing.
Never cared about money, because I can have everything I need in PvP for free.
So I really can’t understand why a PvP player will care about achievments. Anyone want to explain me?
Now, I’m probably not a typical PvP player. Probably the typical PvP player plays for achievements, skins and money. My bad. I play only for fun, for the laugh we have on Ts even when our team is losing bad and for this incredible satisfying feeling when you see the shield with crossed swords at the end of the game and the voice announcing: Your Team Is Victorious! For me nothing can be compared with this feeling.
You’re being played so hard it’s not even funny anymore, and that’s quite big given the sheer comedy such threads usually deliver.

These new pvp achievements suck a lot and need to be changed or removed.
What’s the problem? Simple. Arenanet added 4 new pvp dailies that are based on winning matches once with randoms vs. randoms and once with people you should know vs. randoms that player together. Plus another 2 dailies expect you to do their pre-daily.
Now, now, this might not be as bad as one might think. Wrong. There are days when I want to win 3 times a day. Those days I rarely but do hang in pvp for up to 4 hours keep on being in the worse team. Lucky me: win joining. However… in tournaments you can’t win join at all. Being forced to have the luck to be in the better team or having a worse team (for team arena in that case). The problem here is that it depends on luck and that ain’t better than RNG. (I know everyone hates RNG except ArenaNet probably.)
Where this really is going to be a problem for both PvE achievement hunters (mostly completionists) and PvP achievement hunters (not to forget PvX).
PvP achievement hunters: Some people come home after work and they want to do their pvp achievements (all of them of course) and they spend 0.75-2+ hours doing their pvp daily. (Yes, there surely are that hate all PvE or WvW content but still want to collect achievement points). PvE achievement hunters have the same problem here.
For all that say “achievement hunting is stupid you do not need to do all dailies”.
Yes, you don’t but for people that either want to complete the game 100% or for people that want to pick up achievement points to be equal to those in the very top of the leaderboards this farming is necessary. Not all people in the top 1000 do all of their daily. Especially PvX based. So with enough time spent each day doing every and each daily you can make quite some jumps in the leaderboards.
Honestly I think achievement hunting in the sense of being a completionist is a thing people will not understand if they aren’t completionists themselves. They aren’t seeking the accomplishments they got though out all those days, weeks, months or years.
Anyways my suggestion for pvp daily:
Remove those dailys that require you to do wins in tournaments.
As an alternative add the following dailies that rotate with the others:
Daily Skyhammer – Play a match on the Skyhammer map
Daily Battle – Play a match on the Battle of Kyhlo map
Daily Forest – Play a match on the Forest of Niflhel map
Daily Foefire – Play a match on the Legacy of the Foefire map
Daily Raid – Play a match on the Raid on the Capricorn map
Daily Spirits – Play a match on the Spirit Watch map
Daily Storm – Play a match on the Temple of the Silent Storm map
Daily Winner – Win 1 match (anywhere)
Daily Teams – Play 3 team matches
Daily Solo – Play 3 solo matches
Daily Glory Spender – Spend 250 glory
Daily Rang Points – Gain 500 rang points
Daily Skirmisher – Stomp 3 enemies.
Daily PvP Recycler – Salvage 30 PvP items.
Daily Chest Opener – Open 5 PvP chests (from tournaments or bought)
Daily Class Variety – Kill 3 different classes
Reminder: these are just suggestions of dailies I would find quite do able in a short time more or less equivalent to the PvE dailies with enough variation and no time traps.

Imo solution is reward those win task by something other than AP. Its clearly hardcore PvP players dont care about achievments so its pointless for them and it ruin completition for all other players who care.

I dont want to be rude but do you even know what do you talk about? “Skilled”? How is devoting 5 hours each day any indication of skill? At least be be fair and say “FINALLY there is a grindy area in Daily pvp!”.
Yesterday I was played 4,5h to completed tornaments daily. And new reward system for loose or win (30s or 12s) makes pvp more infected by noobs. Many ppl just sign up to tornaments and go AFK… they will get reward anyway… And where is 1h per daily ANET policy?
I never realized how much people care about achievement point rankings…
