Perplexity runes
They should fix the condition duration bonus also. Currently doesn’t work.

I’m still surprised that this hasn’t been fixed. These runes are a crutch for many engineers and I hope they fix it soon.
It’s absurd how much confusion can be put out constantly. Even dueling them on my warrior using dolyak signet, stamina signet, zerker stance, cleansing ire, melandru runes and food is not enough.
I LAUGH when people say “bring condition removals” but the problem is you need stability. If I pick all stability, guess what? I can’t deal with the condition engi’s other conditions.

Full condition warrior can drop 12 to 18 stacks of confusion for 15 seconds which will do approximately 2100 damage per action. My thief’s autoattack sequence (4 hits in ~ 1.25 seconds).
Works out to 8.4k per autoattack sequence, or in other words, you can kill yourself in 2 seconds flat. Just autoattacking.

glam was nowhere near this strong as getting 25 stacks was only possible with multiple mesmers and 25 stacks never lasted this long ever. glams are 3-5 seconds long and yes u can stack them if it hits 25 stacks it goes down very quickly.
the problem is that the 5 stacks per interrupt tick for 15 seconds o.0

Confusion procs per action, not per attack. So with dagger 1 chain it would proc 3 times.

I think alot of people are unaware of how much confusion an engy can stack without the runes. I can stack 12 stacks of confusion easy on my engy without them. I’ll gladly trade an icd on the 6/6 for a duration fix on the runes. My interrupts are on long cooldowns, and I choose to save them for defensive reasons. I think people will whine even more when I have 100% confusion duration. So please, yes, put an icd on the 6/6 and fix the duration bonus.

with a internal cool down your confusion will not last lon agienst cleanses and then 100% bonus duration wont help anything. but now that they can insta reaply them with a new stun then the cleaninsing dont work

Actually if I get just 2 interrupts I stack 21 stacks on you which hits for 4500-5k depending on might / buttlust.
I agree with this, as it was extremely way too easy to give 25 stacks of confusion as a warrior. Every interrupt i would grant 9 stacks. (Distracting Strikes trait + Perpelexity runes)
I don’t use these runes simply because they kill people too slowly. For me, they aren’t very good. That said, I can imagine that newer players have trouble dealing with confusion and so they would be upset.

The old “stand there and take it” defense. Highly effective… You can’t avoid attempting a cast forever mate. Don’t forget it’s possible to carry a LOT of interrupts on some classes.

And here i could swear that fear isnt an interupt ,thus not dropping the extra confusion stacks.
There had been a thread about it on necromancer forums,but since i do have the runeset il give it a check.

Learn to think. Running around not using any skills isn’t going to help you against a condi engineer or necro. Not to mention the fact that all they have to do is wait for you to attack since the distinction between you attacking and you running around letting them kill you by other means is an obvious one. Spamming interrupts doesn’t mean they’re predictably using 1 each second. They could be using an interrupt once every 3-8 seconds. There’s no way to predict when they’ll be using their interrupts so not using skills is a horrible solution. How can you seriously defend a rune that you have to counter by not using skills?

Yeah, but to my knowledge that is a bug and has been reported and acknowledged. As far as Anet is concerned Necros should have access to copious amounts of confusion, which is a distressing thought.

The thing about Engineer’s use of the Perplexity Runes is that the main tools/kits/weapons that we use to proc Interrupt or add Confusion do very little damage in and of themselves. Static Shot, Magnet, Prybar, Shield, #3 Bomb – none of these are very powerful.

what does it matter when the person sits there with 25 confusion stacks and can’t attack back…
look at fireworks thief, he didn’t even use any weapon dmg and thieves can’t even get such high stacks like engi

That’s true, but it’s very difficult to manage the cooldowns on fireworks to maintain maximum popping efficiency. Perfectly balanced, in my book.

This isn’t gw1 where interrupting certain skills on a single player was key to winning a 4v4 or 8v8. On GW2 even auto attacks are skills which means everyone is always “spamming” abilities.
If you wanted to argue about L2P, its spamming after the confusion is applied. But of course the issue with that is that some classes can apply confusion indefinitely because of the number of interrupts they have access to.

I have been so itching to try these runes out!
The only thing holding me back is knowing that they need to be nerfed and soon, so an entire new gear set will go to waste (the runes, six armour pieces + one pistol that is).

They got patched after release so they have been revised at least once already.
When they came out, they applied the confusion on interrupt on the user, not the target.
The confusion still gets applied to yourself, if you get interrupted by an object, the spear traps in the pirate jp in LA, for example.

The big issue is that no rune should replace a skill or enhance a skill so much. CC skills are pretty powerful. Interrupts are pretty powerful form of CC as some classes have tons and most have an initial damage to them. Now add a secondary damage to them and they become OP. End of story.
Please give runes a 60sec cd.

People said L2P before the confusion nerf and Mesmer confusion wherent even half as OP as perplexity runes.
How exactly does Anet want us to L2P if they nerfed that but not perplexity?

just so you know who those scrubs are if you want to “discuss” with them. it has zero to do with l2p, the runes are broken. people saying otherwise either dont have a clue about the game (game.slayer) or are just plain trolling out of habit (kuora). probably both.
The interrupt bonus is so ridiculously OP that I encourage people to try it out. It’s hilarious and shouldn’t be missed.
Interrupt skills in GW2 are not opportune enough in nature to legitimise the strength of this rune bonus.
The 6th bonus could use an adjustment, but in the grand scheme of things there are builds way cheesier out there that don’t use these runes (blackwater/phantasm mesmers, signet of spite condi-bombing necros , bunker-regen-stun warriors, infinite stealth d/p thieves, etc).

I think Interrupts should be used in order to prevent your foe to use a precise skill – be it a Heal, a powerful damaging skill or an Elite skill – so that you turn the fight in your favor.
If you use an Interrupt against an Auto Attack, that would be a “wasted” interrupt.
However, with these runes, you are HEAVILY rewarded even if you interrupt meaningless skills – that’s why they make no sense whatsoever, as they encourage bad play.
Everyone who believes these runes are not OP should really reconsider his mind status.
Personally I don’t find Perplexity runes being Op at all.
Just like any classes mechanics can be abused,so is it to any runes, foods etc…

I’d give you the rest, but Prybar hits hard. Granted it’s melee range. Wish Engi’s had something to keep/put people in melee range…

Thats because dire gear is the only thing overpowered here. that cat is ridiculous. i have two rupt skills on a 40s+ cd each. putting an ICD on perp runes, say, 30s, would barely even nerf my build what so ever. when i encounter a stun/condi war with perp runes, you know what i do? its calledcounter-play.

Dire gear is the only real problem here. condi + ability to flat out tank is stupid. but these runes are fine.
