Ive been opening coffers just like everyone else.. and im talking ALOT of coffers!
in hopes of getting a ticket so i can get the Jade shield for my Warrior.
ive spent atleast 5 hours a day farming for coffers. and not getting rewarded for it.
all i have gotten is TONS of candy some food and 2 stinking minis that i dont even care about.

If its going to be this hard to get a ticket it should be sellable since MANY people like me dont get any tickets but really want one or 2 but cant get them…

stop the RNG BS and make the skin tickets easier to get so that people can get the skins they want.

to be honest, no one cares if another player looks the same as you….

I bought 25 hoping to find at least 2-3 tickets, hearing from those who reviewed it before it was released, but i found NONE. This is the same as the southsun supply crates, if you hated them then hate these ones too.

It’s kittened, but then again, the chance of it dropping is always unknown to us. For all we know, it might be 25% and you were just extremely unlucky. Just pointing that out, I do believe it’s a lot lower and it’s complete BS that they’re persistent with these RNG gifts. But unfortunately, it’s people who keep buying them and then complain about the droprate that shows them they should keep selling the chests to make money.

I bought 30 of these crates and only managed to get useless candy and a single mini. If that had been real money, that would have been $35. For consumables. I love you, ANet, but this is complete BS.

They WILL buy those crates.

That’s why they keep selling them.

People falls for it, so they keep doing that.

I’d like to say “do not support anything that costs money but works only based on randomness”, but it’ll be pointless. They’ll keep buying that. There’s always someone with money to waste or some sort of addition problem that will do it.

They won’t even have some sort “consolation prize” token that always drop and you can exchange if you have enough of them.
If you are unlucky enough, you can spend the maximum monthly cap of gems you can buy and get nothing but useless junk you don’t need and can’t sell out of it.

I love how in one of the recent bits of info to come out about Dragon Bash one of the devs said something about how ArenaNet likes the random chance method of obtaining items. Probably because they make a tonne of money and players still don’t get what they want. Or they get players grinding for hours and still don’t get what they want. Produce a small amount of content and lock it behind RNG and people will grind hundreds of hours for it (whether they enjoy that or not) or spend stupid amount of money and be rewarded with nothing.

ArenaNet likes random chance. I don’t think their players do.

I think arenanet are not behind this. A lot of people say that it is NCsoft. I don’t know for sure, but from my experience with arenanet, i don’t think they would come up with this kind of cheap sale offers…

Try just to farm the normal dragon coffer, they drop quite often or just buy them off tp which is cheaper than the rich version one. EVERY mobs drop them.

If you could actually get something useful out of the boxes, I don’t think I’d mind as much. But paying real money (or a ton of gold) for complete garbage is ridiculous. In the long run this is just going to drive people away. I know I’ve certainly strongly considered moving on to another game just as a matter of principle.

I’ve seen a number of people in my guild get tickets just from the normal coffers.

Someone else in my guild also spent 25 Festive Coffers and got 1 ticket.

Yeah, you tell it to them. It’s you’re own kitten fault for buying them when the coffers drop in the world.

The only way they remove these RNG with low drop rate boxes is when people STOP buying them. I don’t say you guys shouldn’t but them or something, but you could have learned from southsun thakittens a big gamble.. yes it scks waste of money, but what if you 4 skins? and you made a 100g profit? You was happy now right?

Implied nothing…until they were released the word around the game from everyone I knew was that the tickets would be guaranteed from the Rich Coffer. The implied post just lent some truth to the rumors that turned out to be ultimately false. Oh well…

I copied and pasted from the website. Out of 25 Rich Dragon Coffers I have not seen 1 weapon ticket. So apparently there is a RARE chance that the Rich Dragon Coffers will drop one also.

Yeah chance is as abysmal as with any other rng chest. Tried 50 coffers and only got that candy stuff. Well that was my first time ever using gold to spend it on gems for those rng chests. This will teach me to never ever again any of those rng chests.

So either there is a bug, or the statement from ANET is completely misleading?

I’ve been saving gems for a long time, and was pretty much fooled by the “rich” coffers. 1200 gems of Rich coffers with nothing to show, and 12g worth of normal coffers with nothing but the minipet (But hey, I could have gotten that for 2g!).

Safe to say, but I’m done with the RNG stuff, forever! It kinda ruins the entire fun of the whole festival for me. I get that things should be rare, but they should also be accessible. I feel awful for people who spent far more than me and also got nothing. Sorry guys, but we can all assume this is what it will be like from here on out.

Misleading. A lot of people have spent gems on them and gotten nothing.

To be honest, I’d rather throw money in some kickstarter system in which everyone enjoys the unlocked stuff once a goal is reached than in a RNG one in which many pay but only a very few get what they want.

My results might be a statistical anomaly, but it seems I got one ticket out of the five (rich) coffers I bought.

I see the flame and frost skins all over. I personally bought 3 happily because I liked them. Obviously that was a successful way to do things. There are many of these jade skins I would do the same for. The way that many read the initial release info led some to believe that the rich coffer would always have a ticket. The increased price would justify that.

In the end, this is a armor/weapons skins game since hitting the power level cap isn’t an issue. What is the point of making great looking skins your player base wants and then putting them behind a random chance pay wall (again). It makes no sense and only reinforces the notion you’re not listening to your player base.

I really just don’t get sticking your finger in the eyes of your player base.

they have clarified it in the patch notes. Rich coffers have a rare chance of dropping a ticket (which for anet means “you’ll likely not see one”), while normal coffers have much lower one (“snowball in hell” category).

I bought ten and got no tickets. I was hoping for at least 2. Given the abysmal drop rate, I’d say I’m not ever buying chests again.

Wooh man. 20 coffers, candy and fireworks. They got me good. Would feel better if I was supporting the game I AM playing tho, when you think things cant get any worse.

Quick summary:
-About 64 gold was spent on 1000 dragon coffers, bought at 6s 42c each.
-An average of 2 zhaitaffy was obtained per chest
-No weapon tickets were obtained. The probability is likely below .05%, which is an order of magnitude lower than .4% some people are reporting.

Why can’t you just sell the kitten tickets for 800-1k gems instead.

You screw over customers by making them gamble away their money, so some will have to spend very little money to get a ticket while others could spend well over the box cost of the game and not get any.

When you disparately treat your customerbase’s financial support, you are not creating good will among them — in fact, you erode their trust in you.
