List of Mesmer Bugs (Older Thread)
Outfits also not working on clones….
Took me numerous tries the other night to kill Subject 7 with gambits, simply because my Wardens thought it cute not to attack at all. Never been so frustrated with the game as I was in that moment
yeah same with casting it in wvw on a omega golem. before it was broken with a change that we didnt even need to be honest. i could spawn it and it was able to reflect a few of those shots right away before of course getting killed, but now it spawns, waits, moves to the golem then gets killed.iwarden is beyon repair i fear…just revert it back to the way it was.

Yep…I’ve given up attempting to kill Subject 7. The wardens just aren’t attacking.
I’ve actively played one character since release – a Mesmer. Tonight I’m rolling another character. I just can’t deal with all of these bugs anymore!
I have to agree with those who find that iWarden is worse than it used to be. I got used to the occasional Warden that wouldn’t attack, but now it’s all but worthless. I figured I’d do some gambit farming in the pavilion, and I remembered having a lot of luck with Subject 7 before and thought the new signet heal would make it even better with more Wardens. First fight was smooth. Quick, easy kill. Next fight was close, the first Warden didn’t want to help. Third fight, failed. Watched at least one Warden do nothing. Next fight I had 3 Wardens out and died while watching ALL of them do nothing. Needless to say, I called it quits after that.
Like I said, I had been used to Warden failing sometimes. Didn’t like it, but I learned to not be surprised by it. I’ve never had all of them do nothing, so I’m wondering if it really has gotten even worse, or if I was just horribly unlucky.
This thread have 36406 views, but still new bugs appear faster then bugfixes. WILL EVER DEVS FIX THEM OR WITHIN 2 YEARS IT WILL BE LIST OF 100 MESMER BUGS.
i think ai is just too broken, because most of our bugs are ai related. something needs to be done as mes is now pretty much an ai only class.we rely on 100%functioning phantasms and clones or we are crippled greatly. iwarden should have been reverted insted of trying to force the phantasm to chase after a target. the stale iwarden was 100%reliable! so anet need to either remove big part of our ai and replace it with other functions and skills or put a lot of effort into fixing every single ai we got. otherwise this list will really go 100+/

Why has this fallen off the front page.
I just made a quick search through all the pages (this thread), none mentioning the combat tonic bug
So another fantastic bug that have been forgotten
Talking about Portal I have noted a thing, not sure if it has been reported. While trying to help a friend to get a crystal I used portal, one at the where the crystal was and then I went to a WP and placed another portal. The portal showed up normally but it wasn’t no one could interact with it. At first I thought it was a failure by placing on a bad ground but then I thought it could be because it was out of range. I think it shouldn’t work at all when out of range, it gave me the impression I could use it that far.
Just to check if it was really out of range, the crystal was one above the roof of those houses hanging on a wall at north, at 3rd level. The waypoint was Sky Docks Waypoint.
This doesn’t fix anything, but a good indicator of the portal range is if you max out your minimap’s size, and as long as you can still see the spot you dropped the original portal on your minimap, it should still be in range.
Some of my guildmates and I tested this once on our mesmers in WvW; you can actually go a tad bit further than the map if you’re on completely flat terrain, but then you risk it not working. And of course heights add distance as well, so you can’t go quite as far if you’re going to be portaling at the bottom of a cliff.
It’s certainly irritating, since you have to kind of just keep your eye trained on the exact spot you dropped the original portal without there being an icon or something for it on the minimap, but it’s how I usually gauge distances for portals (and how you can figure out how to portal, for example, from citadel to inner garri in WvW).

Back to the place where you belong, topic.
Hardly a priority compared to some of the class-breaking bugs we have to contend with on a daily basis, but it still really annoys me that after all this time characters still glide across the ground when Blinking while running.
Another bug, don’t remember if it was reported already.
Sometimes illusions (phantasms only afaik, but could be clones too) will freeze for few seconds before shattering.

“Hmm… Do I wana shatter…. screw it I’ll shatter.”

Funny. A bugged core mechanic of the class. Though I won’t be surprised if the problem in your video would be the same as with iWarden – pathing on slopes.

Yes, hardly a priority, but yes, very annoying.

Which combat tonic? The only “combat tonic” is AFAIK the watchknight one, and that does work with clones (unlike outfits).
aaaand none of the important bugs have been fixed…gg

but they added more depth to some moaskills tooltips…. yeeeehhhaaaaa
April 15:
Arcane Thievery: Fixed a bug that would reset the cooldown for this skill when Far-Reaching Manipulations was equipped.
May 20:
Far-Reaching Manipulations: Fixed a bug that caused this trait to reduce the cooldown of Arcane Thievery by 5 seconds.
June 03:
Arcane Thievery: Fixed a bug that caused the Far-Reaching Manipulations trait to reduce the cooldown of this skill.
I wonder if there are enough Arcane Thievery cooldown bugs and tooltip fixes which could bloat the mesmer’s bug fix section in patch notes for the rest of the GW2 life span.
But hey, at least we got some minor rarely used skill bug fixed for underwater scenarios.
Dare I even express how much I want to facepalm after reading patch notes?
Smh…

Wait, what, nothing was broken along the way?
id say wait a few ours until we find the new bugs that came with the patch. im sure there must be at least 1 bug.

If not, this is groundbreaking news, considering every major patch since November or December has introduced a game-breaking mesmer bug.

I have logged in just to say: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, epic!
Well, apparently Arcane Thievery is broken beyond any imagination and I am happy to see ANet working so hard every month to fix it.

class still dead, as expected.
tooltips more accurate, as expected.
excited for the tooltip fixes next patch!

yeah i moved on to necro. maybe once no one plays this class anymore, anet will realize that they nee to fix the bugs and rework the class…but that would be wishful thinking

Nah, they just will be happy about it.
‘Yay, finally no one plays that annoying unique class that has no equivalents in other mmos and was contributing to making GW2 something standing out among other games, wich was totally unacceptable. And we don’t need to imitate active bugfixing for it anymore! Time to buff some other class every second player has!"
It’s almost like the Mesmer bug fix section of the patchnotes is a running joke xD It’s hard to believe. Every time I excitedly scroll down to the Mesmer section and am greeted with tooltip changes and fixes for obscure bugs we rarely encounter.
Very good trolling, ANet, very good.
Look likes medics at hospital cure teeth and prostate of soldier with 20 bullet wounds and torn foot
Guessing next patch patchnotes:
Illusinary Mariner: Fixed a bug that caused this skills tooltip to lack its number of targets.

Seriously, sometimes I can understand devs unable to solve bug due to mechanism limits. But lack of responses and delayed/unable to fulfill the promises they make to mesmers are downright disheartening. We have amazing contributions from this thread and mesmer forums but the conversation seems rather in one direction only.
It’s almost like mesmers are BEGGING for fixes now. A very strange consumer/producer relationship indeed.

I’m going to be moving most of my time to Archeage. GW2 will be played only for dailies, guild missions, and temp content achievements (which can be gotten fairly fast) in the future. The mesmer bug situation is totally unacceptable.
Anet needs to totally rework its code on 3d terrain pathing or implement the mechanics used by warrior savage leap to mesmer illusions. I will admit Anet got the dodge mechanic just right though!
Seriously… Have yet to touch my mesmer again…. Can ANet please fix this class?
Ok, I may have run across a bug that’s not easy to reproduce but I know for a fact that it’s there. Managed to observe it 4 times yesterday (tested 4 times, 1 time w/out sigil 1 time with and then again 1 w/out and 1 with the sigil, to be absolutely sure I’m not just seeing things). I’m not sure what exactly causes it, still trying to figure that out. The bug is that under certain conditions (pvp gear/traits & pve gear) equipping Sigil of Force actually LOWERS your phantasm dps by 5%.

Direct bonuses (like +5% damage) do not transfer to illusions, that’s why Bloodlust is better for illusion-oriented (lol) mesmers than Force, and Ruby orbs are better than Scholar runes.
Yes, I’m fully aware of that. This is why it completely threw me off since Force sigil should NOT affect phantasms in any way. And, nah. Under same conditions (assuming dungeon speedruns) with 1x warden & 2x swordsmans, both Ranger and Scholar runes are better than ruby orbs by ~2.5% to ~4% respectively.

No! dont fall off the front page! Stay up here. cause Mesmer was once my main, and now it’s broken.
At some point our reflect skills should probably have their tooltips updated to include something along the lines of “… reflects projectiles, except when it doesn’t, …”
This would also need to accompany updates to the abilities section on every enemy with non-reflectable projectiles to specify that said projectiles are non-reflectable.
A new mesmer might find it a bit confusing when enemy projectiles start hitting through their reflects.

“A new mesmer might find it a bit confusing when enemy projectiles start hitting through their reflects.”
I dont think there will be many new mesmes who play this superbuggy class long enough to become confused….
Its starts when they use the greatsword the first time and see the autoattack damage indicator is broken, then they might shatter and ask themselfes why some illusions have a delay and soon they will surely leave the class when they begin to use sword/focus….

Wow… Really? No wonder my mesmer feels like it hits like a wet noodle compared to you know… ERRTHANG?!
could we get any updates from a dev if any of our bugs are worked on?

probably ye . they promised us so many bug fixes , and we only got 1-2 i think what a joke
6. Stuck after Phase Retreat/Blink. DEV: “Fixed some now, will fix some later.”
- General game bugs which cause you to teleport inside a wall/rock mesh gets extremely annoying when running a mesmer. (Using staff in Caudecus Manor was a PAIN.)
- Sometimes gets you permanently locked in place.
This one annoys the Hell out of me in spvp/tpvp…
It is so gamebreaking.
Today it happened around 20 times to me that I got locked on the spot Phase Retreat ported me or that I got bugged into some texture and couldn´t get out. Someone told me to do an emote to get out of that lock/stuck, but I honestly don´t have the time to do an emote during a fight in spvp.
After more than 4 month and kitten got done about it. A-Net pls do something about it, I consider stop playing my mesmer in pvp until this got fixed!
A New Chapter [anc] Ruins of Surmia
Triumphant Distortion (possibly all distortion and invuln?) prevents you from receiving the hammer buff to attack the seals on the Cliffside Fractal. This is pretty annoying because the trait is otherwise very useful here.
