Same error message. Checked with troubleshooting section and reset my Comcast Modem/Router so that all ports are forwarded correctly. Changed my firewall settings to medium/low. Using Windows 7 so that should not be an issue. Contacted Comcast and they say my signal strength is ok. So, with all of these troubleshooting steps and nothing is working, I will not be able to play GW2 anymore until they decide this error is affecting enough people to investigate the problem and fix it.

I received the same error for a few days now. It doesn’t appear to be a problem on my end, given the system diagnostic’s results. It’s traceroute all points to a German server. I figure the server is owned directly by NCsoft and not Arenanet, considering a couple of Wildstar players are complaining about the same exact server in their traceroutes.

But does the internet on your laptop/desktop also refreshes? Mostly of the time (not 100%) I can’t reconnect right away or go to websites. My wireless inet is “refreshing” or something like that.

Not really.
I dit a pingplotter run while playing it and it seems that the data that’s being lost (and make the DC happen) are getting lost at DNS servers of my internet provider. I’m trying to get a solution with them now. If they can’t help me I think I’l lsay goodbye to GuildWars.

The support tried to help me, and fast reply’s and all,… but it’s just not in their hands.

UPDATE:
I contacted my internet provider 3 times. The first 2 times they were always checking my modem and not their server where the data goes through.
3th time (just now) they FINALLY understood the problem and I need to go and chance modem. They think that my modem has a bad coding error or something like that which they can’t test from their helpdesks.

I’ll update this forum and will go change modem tomorrow!

I think the problem is fixed here.

I just went and traded in my old router for a new one (which was free at my internet provider). They thought it could’ve something with the “coding” of my old router. They’ve checked my old router mutyple times and said he was working perfectly. But they couldn’t “see” or “test” the “bad coding” thing.

It’s just the first day I got this one but after 3 hour still no DC.

Also, my internet was also starting to DC when NOT in guildwars 2 at the end, it was just starting to get worse. Even if I was watching youtube, checking e-mails,… I had a DC every 15 minutes not only guildwars 2 anymore.

Been getting error 7:11:3:191:101 for about the last week now on all four characters I’ve been playing, and also when I try to load in after creating a new character.
My chars are trying to load into Lion’s Arch, Metrica Province, The plains of Ashford, and the Grove. And I guess wherever humans start…
My characters are on Eredon Terrace world.

I get my internet through the apartment complex I live in, but according to speedtest.net they use an isp named Biz Net Technologies. I live in southwestern Virginia.

I hope you guys take a deeper look at the problem because it seems a lot of players are missing out on the game because of it. My problem started on about the 19th or 20th on this month. I only have a few hours to play per day, and suddenly I couldn’t at all. I tried getting on early during off peak hours for bandwidth in the apartment complex and got no result.
I read some info online about the issue where someone said that GW2 has very little tolerance for lost packets, so I found a program to track that and sure enough my isp seems to be sending the traffic through some pretty lousy access points or something because every ping I make to the game server has high packet loss on at least one hop. So I know that might not really mean anything because I don’t quite know what I’m talking about there. I just feel pretty powerless and wanted to see if I could find out anything myself.

I ran a network diagnostic for it as well and it’s attached along with a picture of that ping I mentioned.

Anything you can tell me would be awesome, even if you can just confirm that my problem is the isp, that would help.

I’ve been talking to Technical Support all day…but each thing they have me do I have done 3x already without avail.

I cant even make a character w/o getting DC’d

Seriously becoming the most stressful game purchase.

Idk if it’s my ISP since I DO NOT have a modem in my apartment since my walls have Ethernet plugs in them; my apartment complex is “student living” (not even close to campus and not run by the school)

Maybe my apartment complex is having Time Warner block the 4 required ports to play?

I have tried: disabling firewall, avast (uninstalled too), the MSCONFIG “fix”, port forwarding (which I dont think I can do since I have no control over the internet and ports opened or closed; I did check the ports before with portchecker and it only said 443 was open, whereas 80, 6600, and the other one were closed)

Same here. I DC two to three times per hour. I have called ISP, update drivers and firmwares, changed DNS, repair game, open ports, run with client port 80, etc…

Really getting upset. I have spent many many hours trying to fix this. I am about to move on from this game. If it hasn’t been fixed and it is a known issue for over a year, then I doubt it ever will be. Doubt I will buy another Anet product again.

I’m experiencing the same problem. I log on just fine, and can spend hours in my character screen without any problems, but than I log in and after five minutes I’m getting kicked. It’s extremely frustrating and off putting. Me and my boyfriend use the same internet connection, yet I keep getting booted, while he can play without any problems. We tried rebooting the router, but this had little to no effect at all. Tried reinstalling the game, didn’t work either. I’m feeling lost here, and am seriously upset by the fact that this keeps happening.

I will get this error code and sometimes skills will just freeze and not work. Yet it is not my internet connection, as everything is connected and working fine the entire time. I have been looking all over for a solution to this, and like many I am very frustrated. All proper ports are forwarded, I have checked that all software/drivers are up to date, my router is up to date and has been reset many times. I have done so many recommended things it is ridiculous. Sometimes I can play for a couple hours without problem, and then it’ll go into loops of constant disconnects. I recently returned to GW2, but this is game breaking for me.

I can play other games with no problem. Having this fixed will make the difference between continuing to play and buying the expansion, or totally giving up.

I just don’t believe it’s again my modem (They also don’t want to trade in modem after modem), is there anyone else having this error and was able to fix it? We can’t be the only ones.

I doubt this is an issue on my end, or my ISPs, but on NCsoft. It would be appreciated if we could get word on this issue. I’m sorta getting frustrated with the game because I can’t play without several interruptions per hour. I’m going to try repairing my client and rerunning the diagnostic to see if that fixes anything.

Likewise. I’ve tried various connections just to confirm it isn’t my own, and I got DC’d 30 seconds upon logging in, and can’t stay logged in for more than 2 minutes without getting booted tonight. Every other night so far I could last 5-10 minutes if I’m lucky. Sup with your servers anet?

I also think it’s a problem on Anets side, everything is perfect untill they start sending data towards them.

I just log in now to get my daily chest and even then I get DCs before I can open it. I hope they’ll be taking this problem a little bit more serious.

Ok just to confirm…I’m no longer getting disconnected and my connection doesnt drop anymore found out it was a faulty wiring on my isp’s end. hope you all will be able to get your game back on.

- The changing of DNS does not work for me

- My ISP ignored it also, untill I had some “unexperienced” employe at the call center who really opened the printscreens I added to my “error-report”. She asked further to collegues and they just offered me a new modem. But that only seemed to work a month,… It’s really weird. I just log in now on a daily base to get the chest but that’s it.
Just when I had my first legendary & ascended armor set…

Been having this problem frequently as well. I port-forwarded my ports, I have the client pointing to those ports, I made the necessary exceptions in my firewall, I turn off my anti-virus software while playing GW, I turned off all of my services except for necessary Microsoft services, my start-up apps are completely disabled, and still no luck. It happens infrequently but when it does, it lasts for hours. I mostly do pvp and it gets ridiculously frustrating, for myself as well as my teammates.

I reached out to my ISP (AT&T) but as always, they suggest that I turn my router on/off, blah blah blah. I ran a traceroute and discovered some issues with one of their servers, on occasion, but the customer service people are absolutely clueless. But, also, on occasion, I find that it’s actually Anet servers where I’m getting the packet loss.

I reached out to Anet, and they wanted me to install yet another third party app to sort it out. I refuse to. I just don’t have the patience at the moment. (Sorry, Anet. ) I mean, this appears to be a pretty frequent issue with many different players. If it is faulty modems, why is it that other online games that I play don’t have the same issue?

I have played since the very first beta, I have spent thousands of hours in GW and really do love the game. But this is getting sooooooo frustrating. I don’t understand. In a world where we have self-driving cars on the horizon, why is it so difficult to maintain an internet connection without significant packet loss.

Google Fibre is gonna be available in my neighborhood in June. I am hoping that this will put an end to my connection woes. It is appalling that ISP’s have such under-skilled, under-informed employees, and it is very frustrating that Anet hasn’t been able to clearly articulate possible workarounds that actually help. Oh, and Microsoft 8.1 is the worst operating system I’ve ever encountered. No app that I use regularly runs without lots of tinkering. Gah. If this is the future of computing, I think I’m gonna be a luddite.

Can’t play at all. I am able to log in, be on character screen, but once I enter the game, it just hangs in there few minutes with nothing moving and no skills or TP responding, till I get kicked with error.
It’s very upsetting. I can’t do anything at all.

I just typed an insightful essay about the frustrations of this issue, to remind you gentle people at ANET that it did not just go away, and it got erased before I could post it. Can we look into this issue or at least subdivide more so that I don’t have to re-invent the internet to fix the problem. I’m getting this same problem, but the weird thing is that my sister, who plays on the computer literally right next to mine, has no problems whatsoever! It’s only ever me who stalls out and gets kicked back to the character selection screen. I’m getting this same problem, but the weird thing is that my sister, who plays on the computer literally right next to mine, has no problems whatsoever! It’s only ever me who stalls out and gets kicked back to the character selection screen. Too strange. It almost sounds like an IP address conflict or something with your NIC. Do you notice if your network connection ever lost ? Are you hardwired to your router or do you use Wifi?

Once again random dc from the game how is it possible to be disconnected from the dam server when every thing else is fin I am always on ts and never drop from that so my Inet is sound please sort this dam problem out.

So I’ve come across a fix for this. Create a shortcut or edit your current shortcut to GW2.exe, open properties of the shortcut and add this to the end of the target field after what’s already in quotations: " /clientport 80"

This is what my field now says after adapting it:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /clientport 80

What this does is forces your computer to send data through only port 80. So rather than your computer losing data by switching ports (which is what’s happening), data will only be sent through port 80.

Hello

My husband and I have been having this issue very often, these days, to the point that we don’t dare anymore to do any unranked PvP.
It only happens with GW2 (no problem with Internet otherwise), and seldom to both of us at the same time.

I may try Scorch’s solution up there but I’d like to be sure of the nature of the problem first…

Crazy, as long as you’re getting the error code 7:11:3:191:101, my solution should work. It worked for me and many other people with the same error code. The error code occurs due to a lack of data being received on the server end. My solution eliminates the possibility of that. Hope it works for you

Port 80 is the port for gaming. The guild wars server is losing data being sent through other ports because it blocks them to avert any security risks. It shouldn’t work with another because of those reasons. When does the error occur for you? Also, can you copy and paste what’s in your target field?

When does the error occur for you?

Either when I log a character or when a character changes zones. Not all the time, but from time to time. And it’s a pain in the @$$ whenever it happens in PvP

Also, can you copy and paste what’s in your target field?

Your not alone Crazy, I tried everything but I keep crashing…I am unknown what to do right now, I also did clientport 80 but that didn’t work ether.
Edit: Plus I get bad skill lag…like every few mins and I just crash, idk what to do bout this issue.

Crazy, i didn’t say port 80 was a security risk. I meant that every other port provides a loophole in the servers securty, making it liable to hacking.
In terms of your issue, it sounds like you’re not having the same issue as i am. Mine occurs whenever, not neccessarily when changing zones but at any time at all. An entirely different issue.The error code indicates that you are having an issue with the server but it’s not a port issue. It may just be a side effect of ArenaNet implamenting the new Heart of Thorns content.

Edit: After poking my nose around other forums, I have found that this is an ongoing issue for many users and the error code covers a wide range of issues. I have found one other fix which may or maynot help: reset your router. This is a method which has worked for other users on the forums and is a recommended method by the ArenaNet staff to try out. If i gather more information, I’ll post it here
