Latency/Lag for EU Players? [merged]

Mad King’s Labyrinth. Other players warping around and everything stopped for 10 sec. Really bad warping and skill lag after that. Didn’t get disconnected this time.
pathping, as usual, looks fine. But there’s persistent latency, spell effects aren’t applied in-time, and now there’s a very common issue which causes the character to get rooted (similar to the issue when you use a stunbreak / stability just at the same time a cc ability lands on you) even after the CC wore off.

A landing you can walk away from just wasn’t fast enough.
Still experiencing lag and rubber banding playing from Malaysia. WvW is unplayable.
I have been doing /ip whenever it lags and have noticed that I am having latency issues with all map servers that start with 64.25.xxx.xxx in WvW.
This has been going on since 9/9 feature patch! Please fix! It is unbearable!

•Brief description of what you’re seeing: My screen freezes like every 10 seconds, then the animation rushes forward to where I directed my keystrokes for movement. PvP is now unplayable and I can barely do anything in the game.
Server time 8pm- 10pm
Massive lag spikes across numerous server IPs – was running multiple dungeons (AC, SE, TA, CoF, CoE today) in a team with members from UK,IE, USA (NY State/Maryland), Germany – all were experiencing intermittent and random lags of up to 10-15 seconds.
I’ m sorry but given our experiences and the fact that these take very different routes to the servers we are starting to believe this is not ISP or backbone ISP issues. We are coming to the conclusion that there are some very odd things going on ANET back end side (either server side or traffic in/out of ANET).
The lag has been present for a number of days in the form of massive server side items – sometimes with all the members in the team experiencing a massive speed up of there skills and actions in like super speed (x2-x7) normal speed.
We have also seen this at Halloween labs with only 20-25 players in each map (before it hard caps) with mobs being delayed out of doors then super speeding up with skills/actions.
We get a good idea when things are lagging badly ANET side as many members are on Teamspeak and are communicating the issue clearly and what each person is experiencing at that time.
Extreme lag yet again. Traceroute seems to suggest problems at the edge6.frankfurt1.level3 server.

Hi, this server gives me so much grief.
There is something not right with Tequatl event on this server.
Don’t know what more evidence Arenanet needs before someone actually has a look.
Mean time, I’m just avoiding this server.

I had terrible rubberbanding with server 64.25.38.161 too! During teq as well!
Other servers that I experienced rubberbanding: 64.25.38.150 and 64.25.33.38
Too tired to write any ip’s down lets just say i just had over 2 minutes delay ingame, watching a raid beeing done as i could not move. Tracert to the /ip showed perfect MS.
I could also chat while my actions in the zone were delayed by atleast 2 minutes.
The slowest respond time while having this lag was 36 ms.

And again. Every evening right around this time it happens really badly. This is really frustrating. My connection is fine, I can play any other game, or do any other internet related activity with no problem. The only issues I have are with connecting to GW2’s servers. It’s been going on for months now. I would really like a fix for this, or at least an update that they’re working on it.
I just wanted to drop in here and say that battleping has solved all my problems.

Hayho, wanted to play the new Living Word Chapter and noticed i have the same problems.
Everything was fine until i entered Glint’s Cavern. Well it was fine even in there until i started fighting the second big Aspect. (The one which is invulnerable until you kill one of it’s adds, get it’s attunement and then use the attunement to get a shield so you can enter the protective sphere of the aspect)
The laggspikes were insane, and not only in GW2 my whole internet was having random short disconnects. It didn’t stop after i left GW2, i fixed it by restarting my router.
I called my provider, they said the problem is not on their side. I started a few downloads to see if my internet is weak -> 5MB/s and no problems. Then i started GW2 again and got the same problem at the same enemy, had to restart my router again.
I live in Austria, Vienna.
Whole thing occured at between 12:00 and 14:00 GMT +1

Not sure what’s going on here.
My wife and I play from the same connection. My game is stable and fine, my wife is really bad episodes of lag and disconnections, especially trying to do the hidden arcana instance. I have no problems.
The computers are identical, save from the GPUs.
Neither of us have and problems with other games, just my wife with Guild Wars 2.
Not sure whether it’s tied to certain accounts or what. We’ve reinstalled the game on my wife’s computer, we’ve swapped wireless dongles – nothing helps. Always fine on mine, my wife’s has issues.
EDIT:
Just to say, we are now playing with our accounts on opposite computers. I’m getting no lag or disconnections on her computer, her account gets lag but hasn’t yet disconnected on mine.

Basically every night around 7-8 I start lagging. Never stayed online long enough to know when it stopped
Game World: Everywhere. All wvw borderlands (Ring of fire eu), lions arch and snowden drifts are what i was in before i gave up, but know from past experiences that it happens in any area
Brief description of what you’re seeing: Lag. And a whole lot of it. Either I lag for a couple seconds then dc, or it does multiple spikes of lag, sending people running into walls and me spinning in place etc etc.
This is getting annoying as hell as i mainly play wvw and my raids start at 7-8 every night, just as i start lagging. This has been happening for the past week or two at least.

i was always on sfr, but now every day iam getting rly huge random lags, DCs, and skill delays.. i have absolutly no lags..till evening, it is everywhere.. eotm, wvw, spvp, dungeons.. it already started about month ago.. this game is just unplayable for me.. other MP games run fine.. ping and tracert goes well
Any update on this? Logged back in last night to see if there was any improvement, and tried to do the living story. Over 5-10 minutes in-game, skill lag increased from barely noticeable to 5/6s long. Finally it stopped responding and i got kicked out after killing 4 mobs in the first LS instance… It’s completely unplayable at the moment.

Yesterday I flushed my block list (had several spam bots and a few presumed bot users / cheaters on it) and since then I have experienced far fewer latency issues. Could be just a lucky coincidence, but I’m not too sure about that anylonger. Maybe some of the devs can look into it; Are there some corrupted accounts (like the ones causing map-wide lags and disconnects) which can cause issues for some others?

I see posts in a few of the forums, so I’m creating this thread to try to gather and focus your input to help us analyze this issue. Simple delays.
In some moments game freezzes, players and npcs running location they where runing previously (while i can run anywhere but skills that i pressed before spike showen as before active status but not working yet) then in 1-5s it continues for me already in next stage. Most lags was in soloq PvP (didn’t palyed team queue) wvw was a bit less, but today it’s same for wvw aswell.
Ussually i have no lags (after some fixes after new year it was almost perfect all time, thanks forthat) in any game mode unless it’s wvw 3 way fight with 60vs60vs60, even then it wasn’t that bad.
Please Anet, respond to an issue, because alot of people on my server was complaning of excact same type of lag in same time.
after arround 1h of my post laggs went out, totally. Had no lags at all after that anywhere.

Connecting from Dublin, most evenings prime time. Underworld server.
After a few weeks of everything being ok, now this is back with a vengeance. Massive lag, random disconnects. Makes WvW and PvP frustrating to unplayable.
I have a 70mbps fibre connection with <8ms ping, so I’m pretty sure it’s not my end that’s the problem. This really needs to get fixed.
Looks like problems in Frankfurt1.Level3.net hub…. I have problems in gw1 too.
I looks like ncsoft servers have some issues along with nearby hubs. They should really do something about it, it’s not fair on players having to cope with lag all the time
During a morning meeting, I learned that some players in Europe have recently been experiencing latency issues. I see posts in a few of the forums, so I’m creating this thread to try to gather and focus your input to help us analyze this issue. Simple delays.
In some moments game freezzes, players and npcs running location they where runing previously (while i can run anywhere but skills that i pressed before spike showen as before active status but not working yet) then in 1-5s it continues for me already in next stage. Most lags was in soloq PvP (didn’t palyed team queue) wvw was a bit less, but today it’s same for wvw aswell.
Ussually i have no lags (after some fixes after new year it was almost perfect all time, thanks forthat) in any game mode unless it’s wvw 3 way fight with 60vs60vs60, even then it wasn’t that bad.Please Anet, respond to an issue, because alot of people on my server was complaning of excact same type of lag in same time.

After Fire Elemental, a player unlocked center reactor room for Steam Ogre. I jumped in and dive in to a water. Seconds that I’m stuck in the sky above the Steam Ogre platfrom for several seconds, unable to descend to tag the boss. Probably bad a map. Not even a lot of people, so that’s extremely unusual.

Frequent spikes between 1 and 3 seconds making competitive PvP impossible. Results include: rubberbanding, wasted teleports, movement skill trajectory mapping seeming to be bugged because it can’t lock on the target that I have (VERY problematic for flanking strike), everything teleports suddenly when it catches up. This makes it impossible to dodge attacks occurring during spikes, and difficult to keep on a target and traverse the map.
I ran some tests using an IP to an NA server that a friend gave me, and I got no packet loss and better response time than from EU servers. EU servers tend to give me 800-2000ms spikes on either a telia or ncsoft server - usually telia and never more than one server, but not always the same one.

What – Skill Delay, general lag and disconnected with the message “The game client cannot connect to the logon server” (or something right along those lines).
When – Completely random. I’ve been disconnected while crafting, in Fractals, right after Waypointing to Dry Top. The lag and the skill delay, same thing, completely random (although last week WvW seemed exaggerated in the symptoms).
Additionally – Given the diversity in these posts and the fact that the same thing is happening to guild mates in Chile, Australia, both coasts of the U.S., I think we can rule out a location specific problem. It would be nice to be able to play the game again without this nonsense.

All my other games and apps work fine, so it is not my connection. It is not unplayable, but annoying as hell and not really fun. I hope you will fix that in time for Wintersday!
Also, how about an update? Having thousands of people (just an estimated guess when regarding the view count of this topic – nearly 13k, btw) not being able to play properly should be a HUGE deal to you guys, so at least pretend that you are working on it.

Since the start of season 2 of the Living story i am experiencing severe lag and disconnects on any map, even pvp. I have a 100mbit connection and this only happens when i play GW2. Brief description:
Has recently started to occur after the latest patch (each day now). Lag starts to form on my end around the mentioned time. Skill use, chat, moving items in bank etc. happen in a 1sec-1min delay (delay length is random and prevents me from playing the game). Skills and movement happen though correctly when other people are waching me so the problem is getting the information back to my computer.
I also encountered an error code: 42:0:9001:4409 on wednesday during this time frame that may be related to this problem.
Game works fine each day without lag before 16:00-17:00 gmt, when the lag starts.

Description: After starting the game it works smoothly for about 10 minutes. Then i got dc and i cant log on anymore. When I start launcher and click Log In button it’s just spinning forever. Sometimes i got information, that it cannot log in. I tried every solution i found on forum (deleting Roaming folder, adding CoherentUI in firewall exception etc.). Furthermore, after dc i cannot even open Guild Wars 2 official site! I can open Forum, but not main site! It’s very weird. And very annoying. Please someone help!
P.S. I’m using Windows 10 technical preview, but i don’t think it’s relevant. Every other game that needs internet connection works fine. And my system is recognized by programs as Windows 8.1.
