Low Level Characters/Boost Questions

I have used both boosts and deleted the characters after a while.

If you boost and go straight to HoT you will rob yourself of a large amount of enjoyment.

I would advise you to save them for much later.

And if you just can’t wait (we are all human) than i’d suggest to use just one and save the other.

I personally find my Necro to be a bit easier to cut through the jungle with than my Ranger. (look up LordWafflez PvE beginners guide on youtube for each profession, it’s been very helpful to me)

Something like after 1 min of standing still, you get a dwbuff which doesn’t allow you to have pets, and also despawn all pets you already have.

Was thinking the same thing but 1 minute might be a tad strickt.

I also saw some people streaming using the mouse to click on their skills…. Honestly… I won’t even talk about that…

That again.. really?

I can handle 3 buttons with my left hand and the rest i have to click. Before my stroke i could do 5 buttons and the rest i had to click.

Should i be ashamed or something?

Just be glad you can do everything blindfolded and on keybinds and stop making fun of those that can’t.

You definitely shouldn’t be ashamed and I understand physical issues from personal experience. There are things I’ll never be able to do in this game. I just don’t feel the game should be programmed around such issues, no matter how unfair that might sound.

It sucks when you can’t do stuff due to injury or disability. But game companies have a responsibility to the playerbase as a whole, rather than individuals. It’s a sad fact of life.

What i was talking about is the neverending witch hunt against people that aren’t adept at playing with a full set of keybinds and have to use a mouse to click.

Like it’s a crime to Humanity or something.

As for the ending instance of HoT… i done it as i stated earlier in this thread.

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again. It’s how all MMORPG’s instanced content used to be done, by trial and error. Not by not using a mouse.

An option to remove visual clutter caused by flashy stuff defeats the purpose of having it , which is primarily “look at me and my flashy stuff.”
If this can be turned off then theres little point in having it.
Im not a real fan either, but the reality is that flashy stuff pays the bills for Anet.

I would think our characters are clad in whatever bling to please ourselves and not to annoy others.

It is okay to have em sell that stuff and put it in the game in other ways. Just put an on/off switch in Options so we can all enjoy our personal preferences. Not just the folks that enjoy visual noise.

Much like a headphone ensures that ones personal choice in music doesn’t become an unvoluntairy choice for all within earshot.

To each their own indeed. I totally agree.

However, if you look at this game and erase all the players from sight for a sec. you see that the entire design is about a sort of medieval-ish Fantasy style and some Asura and Charr Steampunk thing going on.

The Asura are colorful but not in an eyesore way. The Charr are proud warriors clad in tough armors in mostly earth colors. Humans are … humans and the Norn are somewhat of the same palet as the Charr. The Sylvari are more colorful but in a stylish natural way.

If you then put back the players it’s like someone pulled open a can of exploded clowns. Not all of them of course but enough to ‘spoil the picture’. Big Charrs glowing white to the point of blinding, with pink manes and Angelic wings. I mean seriously?

Every Daily event map there are at least a few dominating everyones visuals. Basically a handfull that ‘ruin’ the view for all.

So in the spirit of ‘to each their own’ i vote for a special effects switch to turn off all the fluff.

Meanwhile i’ll just do my best to ignore and pretend it isn’t there.

Edit: The Angelic Charr Rangers look like grotesk surrealistic Cupids… “Love or i rip you to shreads!” hehe :P

As i am not interested in crafting ascended gear anytime soon i would like to delete a bunch of stuff from my bank. I hate to spend money/gold on bank expansions just to store items i’ll probably never use.

There are items such as :

- Piles of Bloodstone Dust
- Bottles of Airship Oil
- Empyreal Fragments
- Etc…

My question is:

Can i turn it in somewhere that would grant me some gold or other items that i can use or sell?

I’d hate to go through all the deleting only to find out later that i had another/better option.

It would have been great if i could have sold it to a merchant for some silver or something.

I don’t think most of you even looked at it. They can’t even see their own character. Where’s the appeal in that?

If you can’t even hold a proper conversation with me about this, don’t bother replying. “Don’t look” isn’t a response.

There is no accounting for taste.

That person is probably as elated about the effect(s) he/she managed to put on that character as you are disgusted by it.

So who is right and who is wrong?

I don’t care for all that silly bling in this game either. But its part of the game and one persons disgust is another persons delight.

Not much to do about that besides ignore it.

I don’t identify with my characters since there are way to few ingame possibillities to faithfully do so.

I watch the adventures of my characters as if they were a movie or some sort of highly interactive book.

Of all the options in the character creation system of this game i liked the Asura the most and find the females the least annoying.

So as a middleaged male i control the adventures of 6 Female Asura characters… and they all look very much alike as well after deciding what ‘look’ i like most.

Female Asura’s can look a lot like mice and i quite enjoy mice/rat society in cartoons.

The perfect playable race in this game for me personally would be a female Skritt.

Is this game really just about who tags more?

I’ve made a post a while ago that during the daily zergs the massive AOE on low level maps can prevent you from beeing eligible for participation credit in the event. Stuff goes down so fast that you can miss any tagging when short before events ending due to late arrival.

It happened to me a great number of times.

When there are a lot of people present the mobs should be increased in health instead of number. That way they’d be slower to kill and less of a loot piñata.

That said, i don’t mind mass looting. I’m actually a fan off much loot

But i still think that is where the problem lies and the solution. To compensate, maybe the value of the loot could be upped a bit when a map is up for the events daily.

Why Map Content Doesn't Last...

Everyone wins except for people who want to run raids casually which might be as many or more people as want to run them seriously.

My guild has done the escort. Some weeks we can’t field 10 interested people but we’ve beat it four times. We’d not even be able to try it if you set the bar too high.

This entire concept is elitist and the reason I was against raids in the first place. Only the ones who want to pay to price up front should be able to attempt content? Sorry but no.

Raids were never meant for the casual player, or to be run casually. The were intended to be GW2 hard content, and should be treated as such.

If that means your guild that can’t even gather up 10 people to show serious interest do not raid, then that is what it means.

However Gating the raid would have helped your guild see who was serious from the start, if you were a tight knit small guild, you could help each other get ready, have it be a bonding experience, and maybe even get more of your members to take the raid seriously.

Otherwise this reads like a “I don’t like that”.. which I already said, I don’t care if it’s simply about your feelings.

Sounds to me like a handfull of elitists want a very expensive playground that only they can enter.

If you insist on going at it with a highly trained group of special commando’s you should organise that for yourself. Shouldn’t be too hard for a tight knit group of specialists to seperate themselves from the common folks…. right?

The very notion of wanting to fence off a part of the game for one group at the cost of another group is so anti-MMO, it’s just…. brrrr.

My issue, moreso with older maps is that with level 80 tokens now if I use one on my toon, what reason do I have to go back and go through the pre expansion maps? If I go into Caledon Forest with my level 80 necro, which has been lowered to the map level, and I finish it, what is my reward? Level 14 crap. Useless. If reward=level then suddenly I have a reason to go back and do older maps. A reason to complete older maps.

I just had a “Leftpaw’s Armor Chest” dropped from a Kessex Hills bandit boss or the Toxic Alchemist (cannot remember which because i do a lot of this stuff). The chest came out of a pouch or bag and contains a choice of an ascended piece of gear lvl 80. I can choose from any of 3 complete sets of armor (light, medium and heavy) and the chest is account bound.

(my luck is at 111%)

For the rest it is my experience that aside from heart quest rewards that are obviously appropriate for the area’s level and can be done just once, all the rest that drops (from events, mobs, elites, etc..) is always lvl. 80 (when done on a lvl 80 character.) or a few levels below that, as far as i can tell.

This way i can constantly re-do all my favorite maps and favorite events while getting lvl 80 rewards as a bonus.

So the game scales me down to map level (fights are fun and engaging, i can play with my main, help friends and newbro’s at their current level) and the rewards are scaled back up to my characters level (ingame financial value, crafting value, etc..).

I don’t think you can cram much more replay value into any game tbh.

If you insist on instant leveling a new character from 1 to 80 and then complain that the heart quest rewards aren’t scaled to your level, then i think you want too much tbh. Normal quest gear can’t be sold nor salvaged so why would you need them to be on-level at lvl 80 anyway?

Maybe someday we get selfprogramming realtime events that are totally different everytime and at unpredictable times. Until then i am afraid we are ‘stuck’ with pre-programmed content. And as far as that goes i think Anet has done a pretty great job.

What i think is really happening is that many of todays gamers are spoiled and jaded and all seem to know how a perfect game should look like.

Maybe you should go play WoW for a bit and level a character to 100. Then come back and look at this game again.

You cannot have a game where there are thousand of quests that are all unique. Just as you cannot have self-reprogramming events that are completely unpredictable.

At the end of the day these games are nothing more than interactive databases and bound to a certain amount of predictable programming. As far as GW2 goes i think it is one of the more cleverly wrapped databases and good looking as well.

But maybe coming from an age where gaming was done on boards around a table makes me appreciate what we have today more. Not to mention a rich imagination honed by reading a metric ton of comics, novels, etc..

It seems more likely that you’re currently hooked by GW2 which influences your evaluation. You’re calling people easily bored and spoiled because they talked about their experience with GW2 events the design in general.

You cannot have a game where there are thousand of quests that are all unique.

Honestly, how many of them do you find unique? You may list them here if you want to.

GW2 events are highly limited due to their nature. There’s no room for stealth/investigation missions, your decisions don’t have any impact on the story and it’s exactly the same event for every race and profession.

After playing a while you’ll see that you’re basically doing the same 3 events over and over again that were copied, reskinned and adapted to the new environment. And that makes me get bored faster and faster with every new map that’s been released. There are always exceptions, somtimes you can use your glider, PoF will probably make use of the mounts sometimes. But overall, the events of GW2 are mostly not different to some basic, shallow kill 0/x, gather 0/x quests. The only thing they really ‘revolutionized’ would be how they easily make people play together – especially with regards to meta events.

I don’t agree with you and explained why.

You think it’s boring and i think it’s brilliant. Not much use in trying to outbid one another.

Have fun in your next game. o/

I don’t get anything done because im always re-playing events and here is one that is done with any map in 1-2 days….. whut?

Never played an MMO as replayable as this one tbh. Its pure genious, plain and simple.

Sounds to me you are rather easily bored OP.

Well, no, I’m not easily bored. I’m easily bored by content that gives no replay value. The only map that sees any kind of replay value in LWS3 is Bloodstone Fen, from my experience, and maybe the leather farm in Lake Doric, but that’s just a pointless grind for gold.

I feel just the same and also analyzed the events of the Season 3 maps. With the exception of a few, they could easily be separated into the basic quest designs: Kill: 0/x, Gather 0/x and Protect/Escort. That’s where GW2 always wanted to be different compared to other MMORPGs but in the end, those smaller, independent events are just as or even more grindy than some WoW quests. The only difference is that events are happening right now and can be easily accessible for multiple players.

What was really different were meta events of HoT and Season 2 (Silverwastes) where several groups split up and did different things at once in order to progress the overall event.

Abbak, you said GW2 was the most replayable MMO you’ve played and it would be genious. Well to me, it isn’t. The large majority of events in the whole world are nothing but basic MMORPG quests disguised as dynamic events. In other games I was happy when I finally finished the “Kill 0/10 wolves” task and could move on with the story. In GW2, this event will repeat over and over and over again every 5 minutes.

1. I don’t even want to repeat that boring quest, I want to get rid of it as soon as possible
2. Our actions don’t have any impact on the world of Tyria. You’ve rescued a few allies? oh look, they’re trapped in there again. Rescue them again.

After leveling multiple characters to lvl 80, playing through the game, I have no reason to replay these events. They’re plain boring to me. Meta events changed that a little, but they alone also don’t last 2 years for me.

I guess it’s subjective as you liked to delete your characters and start all oved again. Other people would have liked to see more large meta events in lvl 80 zones.

The funny thing is that I could find several events in the PoF demo (lvl80) that were exactly the same as in Queensdale (lvl1-15):

  • We should defend the Amnoon farm workers from the Forged just like we protected the ranchers in Queensdale from bandits.
  • We should defend the water pipes of Amnoon from saboteurs just like we protected the water pipes in Queensdale from bandits.
  • We should gather fish in Amnoon just like a level 10 heart quest in Queensdale told us to gather crabs for the fishermen.
  • (n/A yet) We should escort people in Amnoon just like we escorted the trading post caravan, Moa Trainer Kappa, carnival caravan in Queensdale.

All in all, they’re all the same. I don’t care if I escort a caravan in Queensdale, Gendarran Fields, Wayfarer’s Foothills or Crystal Oasis. They’re all the same to me, copied over, reskinned, with changing enemies. There’s no way I still want to do that after the 100th time. They have to think of new concepts. In many games, the quests will change, be more complex over the time. Sadly, we’re seeing a step backwards in Living World Season 3 and thr PoF demo.

What i think is really happening is that many of todays gamers are spoiled and jaded and all seem to know how a perfect game should look like.

I guess it all depends on what you think is ‘replay value’.

I keep going back to maps like Metrica Province and Gendarran (and many more) for their events but also because i love their specific area themes/atmosphere. I also enjoy gathering lootbags of all levels. That way i have something to do, something to wander around in and a few silver to look forward to when i sell everything at the end of yet another engaging session.

I tend to delete high level characters for the specific purpose of starting over fresh in one of my favorite maps.

I may be somewhat exentric in my way of playing but if all you have left to ‘enjoy’ is a high profit loot piñata map (because stuff, stuff, stuff) i really wonder what draws you to play an MMORPG.

From the first moment i met these lovers of all that is shiny in Metrica Province, they reminded me of a series of comic books called ‘Pacush blues’ by a French artist named Ptiluc.

I used to love reading these when i was a lot younger (80’s-ish?) and i still have them somewhere.

I was wondering if anyone else remembers the comic series and sees the resemblence.

Ive done the little event there twice now. You can get in there through a Skritt tunnel.

Never encountered other players there though. I think it is too much off the beaten track and little to no incentive to ‘waste time’ there. Not having the waypoint can be overcome by using Skritt tunnels most of the time.

It’s a useless backwater alley with one weird Charr and a bunch of nasty vines nippin’ at yer heels. I don’t go there anymore either.

No Flying Mounts?

Abakk.9176

Fingers crossed for flying mounts. Arguments like “they make the world feel smaller” or “they invalidate open world traveling” are moot in GW2 since waypoints already exist and already do these things.

Not completely accurate though.

Lots of contested waypoints that would be simply negated by flying mounts. Entire mapdesigns would become tivial.

Maps designed for gliding have systems in them to steer use of gliding. You have to master it in more than one way. Adding flying to those maps would render them mere loot piñata’s stripped of their gaming value.

The design of this game might just allow for ground mounts but certainly not flying mounts.

It would be like adding a massive cheatcode. Way to sink your own game as a developer. The Blizzard Krew learned this lesson the hard way.

So, Fingers crossed for NO flying mounts EVER.

I disagree entirely. It’s a popular trope that flying led to the downfall of WoW, however if you look at the facts and the numbers (when Blizzard released them), it’s quite the opposite. WoW was booming when flight was part of the game. Only recently, when flight is disabled for a long time at the start of the xpac, only to be introduced via massive amounts of tedious effort, subs have plummeted. I believe it to be true that the vast majority of people wish to battle enemies more than terrain, and sub numbers show that, if not the sole reason for the decline, that at least there’s some correlation.

I love how it is always ignored that Blizzard themselves stated that they made a huge mistake in letting flying go beyond TBC.

Just like the rest of my post is conveniently ignored.

Oh well…

Mordremoth the DPS Sponge!! I just tried to do this and failed and I hated the fight so much I haven’t gone back.

It wasn’t that it was so hard but that it’s so long and stupid mechanics. I had him almost beat, almost always full health, when I went into the 3rd glide stage and was hit with a rock and downed into the damage field…DEAD.

So I hit retry thinking it would simply be continued like others….nope start from begin for another 30+min, no thanks.

Had this happen twice the same night and gave up and haven’t been back.

I have this happening all the time and with much less hard content than this. I have a disability that hampers my reaction time (among other things) so you can imagine how i do at fights like these (and jumping puzzles, and other stuff). It is so bad i gave up doing group content in WoW because i was always standing in the green/red/purple/fire/whatever and died a lot.

And you know how people are about ‘carrying’ other players. So lamo here got kicked so often (even after explaining and even during explaining) that i simply gave up and restrict myself to whatever i can solo. That is why i love GW2 so much… you are in a group without beeing in a group

Back to the case at hand. Many fights are a mess because half the time you have no idea what to do. You muddle through and at some point the fight throws you out (dead) and you have to start again. Often resulting in skipping for the day and try again fresh tomorrow. No needs to consume all of my favorite passtime in one go, right?

But then, that has always been the case with dungeons i guess. Its just trial and error. You get chewed out, go back in and try again until you can dream it and by then it looks easy and you wonder why it looked so hard when you started.

It was always like this in dungeons in WoW when i first started that game. And at that time it was an accepted learning process.

But i guess these days people want everything instantly and call every single repeat of everything ‘boring’. But what they mean is that they can’t stand it that they can’t beat it in one go, for whatever ‘ego’ or ‘gogogo’ reasons.

In my humble opinion, if you want effortless story progress you should probably stick to books and movies, no offense

I killed Mordremoth on session 3 on the second day. I really couldn’t let him get away with killing my friends and in hindsight he wasn’t so tough after all.

PS: A big thanks to ArenaNet for NOT having to pay for gear repairs..

There is a shortcut to stow and draw weapons. I think it’s Z by default.

In WoW your weapons can be sheeted with Ctrl+Z if i remember correctly. I used to have a small addon that would automatically always sheeth/stow my weapons.

WoW refugee has entered the building. o/

Flying was one of the reasons i left WoW, along with the butchering of anything that has to do with (low)leveling and RPG elements. This game is for me the exact thing that WoW leveling should have/could have evolved into.

I am sure even this game will eventually come up with a way to sneak it in but my hope is that it will take a few years at least. Game developement is about moneymaking and not about upholding ideals, unfortunately.

Ah yes, lets let botters decide what we can or cannot do.

People that enjoy fishing, yours truly included, tend to be nature inspired and not after huge rewards.

A nice broad spectrum of fish, ranging from common to very rare and a few achievement points attached to it… ye know, for that lovely ZING when you hit the sweet spot after months of meditative dedication.

Maybe a selfmade deco or two for the Home instance? A few new recipe’s for some lowlevel cooking? Nothing expensive or wanted or even remotely useful or sellable in any way.

Personally i’d go for the recipe’s. Just so you can keep your catch and make something from it. Perhaps even to feed a few cats here and there with some soulbound fishes?

Lots of ways to make it into a nice little niche for the Fishermen(women) among us

Fishing…. mmmmm, yes please!

You’re going to get the same responses since the game came out. The PvE players are frightened and literally shake at the thought of having someone send them a duel request.

Every major MMO that features dueling has an option to ignore duel requests so this is not an excuse.

Their other excuse is “I don’t want duels to clutter my precious Lions Arch!” but they’re the FIRST ONES to fill LA with dumb halloween costume fights.

There’s zero reason not to have dueling in the game. It’s a fun way for friends to test builds against each other while you wait to start a dungeon.

Stop taking the game so seriously Who cares if people duel near you.

This is a good example of what i mean with ‘some people don’t accept no for an answer’.

Instead of advocating your case by sticking to the pro’s of dueling and even come up with solutions that could contribute to it, you resort to kitten on the motives of people who are against it.

Imma go frightenedly sit in a corner now and shake for a bit while i await your reply

Duelling in itself wouldn’t be so bad but it is a fact that most people can’t handle such freedom and fall into some form of mental barbarism.

Instanced content, pvp, wvw, party system, guilds, mail, chat and multiplayer are not bad but they do attract kittens. Block button and report system are tools against kittens. Not adding something because bad people MIGHT show up and annoy someone for a split second before getting blocked is pretty terrible excuse.

Duels are not in the game. On the question “Why no Duel?” my answer is the statement and explanation i have given. All are based on experience in another game.

All your denials will not erase my knowledge based on experience and convince me that bad stuff can’t happen here because ‘reportbutton & block’.
I just explained how they did happen despite ‘reportbutton & block’.

Not adding something because bad people MIGHT show up and annoy someone for a split second before getting blocked is pretty terrible excuse

Not adding something because you know bad people WILL show up, based on past experience and knowledge of human character flaws in general can also be considered wisdom.

All in all it doesn’t add anything of value to a PvE environment imo.

On this point i would like to throw in my lot with Vayne.8563 on account of having the same issues he/she has with duel-hungry players that keep pestering you to duel with them. To the point even of whispering you and insulting you just to get what they want from you. I personally experience this behavior as invasive and abusive.

It’s not something a yes/no button would be able to prevent.

What is stopping someone from stalking and whispering you ingame now? Dueling not gonna add new ways of being a kitten to the game no matter how much you want to believe in that.

What is stopping someone from stalking and whispering you ingame now?

Maybe the fact that not having it now also doesn’t attrackt this type of player?

Dueling not gonna add new ways of being a kitten to the game no matter how much you want to believe in that

It is not so much a matter of ‘believing’ as a matter of knowing for a fact that it will entice a certain type of player to find the best reason ever to finally join GW2 (probably good for Anet but not so good for some players). Or setting off people that are already in and can’t believe they can finally show the world how powerful they are.

Duelling in itself wouldn’t be so bad but it is a fact that most people can’t handle such freedom and fall into some form of mental barbarism. If they lose a match they want a rematch, and another one and another.. because in their mind they cannot lose, so it must be you that is doing something wrong or even cheating/hacking.

If they win they are just as obnoxious and spam ‘scrub’ for a few hours (if you are lucky).

This isn’t something i desperately ‘want to believe in’ but something i have witnessed and experienced for years.

It’s an opinion based on facts and experience, nothing more, nothing less.

If Anet should ever implement it then i will deal with it but given the chance i would vote against it.

Dueling would have zero effect on PvE players because it’s 100% optional.

It would though. Only not in the way you are now thinking about.

As i stated earlier, i was somewhat neutral on this in the sense of letting everyone enjoy what they enjoy.

There is however a thing about pushy people that are obsessed with the urge of wanting to defeat you that i find very creepy. I ‘m sure they are having ’fun’ but i’m not so sure if that is a healthy kind of fun i would want in my game.

Developers resources aside…if ever implemented, dueling should be limited to beeing a switchable option AND only permitted in some out of the way place (instanced).

Although i am sure the forums would then also have to deal with the call/cries for 1v1 balance by the inevitable ‘weaker’ professions that this particular kind of passtime will reveal.

So in light of the above i would now change my ‘i-don’t-care’ to a solid NO!

The never ending hunger for more convenience never ceases to amaze me :/

Yes, isn’t it awesome how developed we are as society so far, driven by that hunger? If we weren’t that lazy (just another word for it :P ), we would still plow fields with our own hands.

The idea with the right click to select the number sounds easy to implement. We already have such a counter for splitting items.

I think this kind of lazyness (you said it first) is hardly comparable with the progress our ancestors made. In the case of your example i’d say ‘increasing yield’, among other things, was a bit higher on the priority list than relieving lazy farmers.

I rather like the sound of dinging and not just my own.

But aside from that, why would you want even more convenience when pooping out a fresh 80 when it is already this effortless?

How many 80’s does one produce per day? I mean if it was about a factory churning out 80’s by the dozen each hour…

There is little to no use for people trying to convince one another. Different people have different tastes (fortunately).

As long as there is a way to turn stuff like that on and off so no one can aggrivate another player (be it on purpose or accidental)…. who cares?

Read every words of this 1st post. He isn’t exactly seriously asking for help. The main theme is asking for NERF. The bolded part was actually rather rhetoric with a hint of sarcasm. That line was the closest to a request for help. Do yourself a favor and read for once.

When i read it i see someone in need of advise. It peaks my interest because i also struggled with it.

When you read it you see an attack on your precious game… (and even then your response is over the top and rude)

The sad thing here is that all you seem to have to fall back on is screaming “White Knight.. White Knight” (like it is a bad thing), while all i do is ask for some common decency… extremely common i might add. If you would be treated like poop by someone standing next to you, i wonder what your reaction would be like.

I know its commonly accepted that the internet is like this… but it IS like this BECAUSE it is commonly accepted.

Its not about what the OP asked or not asked … its about your failure to see you were rude and are convinced it’s okay to be like that.

“Git GuD” might have been venomous but they way OP asked for help was extremely rude and crude. OP was first and foremost blaming the Devs, read the title and the 1st post, if you could be bothered.

Oh please. It is NOT “might have been.” It WAS venomous, but that’s normal nowadays. Your post was anything BUT helpful or productive. It’s the same crap as “anything works in OPvE”. While it’s “factually” correct, it’s NOT helping the person asking for assistance. So, either post something useful (l2kite/play/gearup doesn’t count), or simply don’t post and laugh silently for how l33t you are.

Since OP was self proclaimed Fractal Vet. Kite/GiT GuD is actually literally a good answer. If OP wanted a productive answer, he or she can start by at least being honest.

I can totally ace one encounter and be completely stumped by another. It says nothing.

Nothing warrants beeing verbally abused and rediculed on the very forum that is there to discuss such things.

You keep coming up with excuses… admit you were beeing rude and be done with it.

Maybe even apologize to OP… you know its the right thing to do. I ’m sure you were taught good manners once

Never mind, should have figured you’d all spread that Git Gud crap. A solo player can’t kill a dragon even in exotic armor with pitiful weapons. I’ve tried a warrior, a guardian, a necromancer and all couldn’t get through the second part of story mode with I counted 10 after me and the boss and something shooting fireballs.

Plus I was talking to the devs, not you.

Hilarious, a veteran player that got killed in that scenario with a necromancer. You are obviously lying to the teeth.

So far you have insulted OP twice for posting a problem he/she has with an encounter.

Don’t you think it would be more constructive to analyse the problem and come up with a good advise instead of “git gud” and flat out calling liar?

People that also struggle with content like that could also benefit from that, because im sure there are a lot more.

We weren’t all born with ‘mad skillz’ and some of us even have IRL nasties holding them back.

Maybe a tad more empathy? …. please?

I have empathy, look at my responses on the thread that discuss about motion sickness.
Why should anyone have empathy towards someone who was obviously lying to the teeth of being veteran in the game?
If he were to come out and asked for help on how to defeat it with whatever profession. I would gladly give a proper advice.
The guy is literally asking for a nerf from devs on a non issue encounter while lying to his teeth about being fractal vet. This is exactly the kind of people who deserves “GIT GUD” answer.

Nobody deserves your venom and i’m sure you are just as unable to see through a few lines of typed words as anyone else.

Also no dev is gonna change a game because one person has a problem that needs solving. Get a grip.

And i’m not going to another thread to witness a sample of your good intentions on an entirely different matter. This is about the vitriol you spilled in this thread.

My response is to your unconstructive and insulting behavior and my request is that you discuss with OP and see if your obvious knowhow can maybe solve his problem.

In a friendly manner and perhaps in a way that could even benefit the rest of us.

Or is that too much to ask? We are all playing/loving the same game here… right?

Let’s face it. It’s not even worthy of your time to discuss it with OP. Instead, you shined upon me with your blinding white knight self-righteousness. Get a grip yourself.

I’m just as curious to get some good tips as OP is. I came out the other end by the skin of my teeth myself and would love to repeat with more inside tips from some more experienced players.

Isn’t that what a forum is for after all?

Lets face it, by now you could have typed quite the essay on how to ace this thing and you could have earned some respect from at least two people.

Shame…. :/

I actually kind of expanded upon my “Git GuD” inital comment on the next post after that. Which can be summed up to “Kite” like many others literally said in this thread.

What have you done so far in this thread? with the exception of white knighting and not saying anything towards OP problem. Hypocrisy is strong in you.

I’ve called you out on your behavior and after that some positive replies came in. My White knighting obviously inpired some people to write some useful replies.

It is stretching it a bit but in a way i made your useless replies usefull.

You are welcome !

Ok guys, you really need to work on the movement of mounts. They feel slow and clumsy. I understand that you wanted to make them feel special, since they are bigger and all, but really, their movement sucks. Make it faster, crisper and smoother.

They ‘feel’ very natural to me tbh. No need changing it on my account.

But i can see why some folks are dissapointed they don’t respond as fast as your mousecursor.

I started this game 2-3 months ago and i can assure you its really easy to get into.

I even found it quite fun and engaging right from the start. Within the first few hours i was running with a small event group through Metrica Province to help Rikkiti get his shinies back… i’ve ran that event over 50 times easy (and still do every now and again )

Coming from the sad remains that was once WoW and a bunch of failed attempts to replace my daily goto MMORPG it was quite refreshing and a very hope restoring.

So far I came across nothing i couldn’t figure out, with the help of youtube and the Wiki (great thanks to WoodenPotatoes, LordWafflez and a few others).

Considering i have had a small setback, a few years back, that hampered my info intake and response time i must say i didn’t experience any overly complicated situations.

You do need to ‘step outside’ for information (youtube, wiki) but i have yet to find a game where that isn’t the case. The thing that cost me the most effort was getting to grips with the stat system. But since i only play ‘outside’ and do no group content all my characters are clad in full Berseker gear and are doing great

If I’m the one making the map design, I too will love it, so much that I want (show off) for other people to see it too.

Also, it makes a good wallpaper.

Yes, a very good wallpaper indeed…

I make a screenshot of the most beautiful ones and have the folder in which those screenshots end up, set up as source for my Windows 10 desktop wallpaper rotation/slideshow.

If GW2 devs stripped and copied every feature in WoW and introduced it in their own game, it still wouldn’t be WoW.

If they completely destroy the entire leveling process because ‘hurr endgame durr’, THEN it will be like WoW.

Introducing mounts with no restriction in cities and whatnot would also not make it WoW. That would be ‘making the same mistake as the WoW devs’.

In my humble opinion of course.

Also, I was very disappointed to learn a spider mount was ruled out – they’re such natural denizens of the desert and perfect to have the vertical jump ability… now, where did that bunny/badger springer come from, exactly? Seriously…

Kangaroo rats.

Yah. I was thinking maybe Jerboa, but kangaroo rat is closer.

It makes me think of the Yata mount in ArcheAge.
