I would like to rephrase this to make it more constructive and have a higher chance of a response.

’ Many people in the GW2 community are noticing that the updates that are being announced are not always in great detail or fully tested, we know that the Developers can only work with what they have but I believe that they would get much more backing from players if we knew the amount of Developers that GW2 have working on content, expansions etc. ’

Please can a Developer provide some light on this topic, even a range will be better than nothing if you are sworn to privacy?

As a gamer for many years I am wondering what is more important than balancing games that players play. In my opinion I think that the rating system would be more accurate by placing players of equal abilities against each other, not placing teams. The main question I have is how do you feel the ‘Team Matching’ Balance system makes it so that players fight other ‘players’ not ‘teams’ their own ability? Also how this is not the priority rather than custom arena’s and also ‘spectator mode’, in my opinion there are not many people who would want to spectate on a match which is not balanced?

A few questions i am interested to know.

Why do WvW have ratings displayed but PvP doesn’t?

Why is the leader board only usable by 100 players?

So you want to play World of Warcraft?

That would require time given to pvp…..

The Treb is extremely useful to a lot of pug teams, enemies don’t seem to try to avoid it but if you are talking about experienced pre-mades then no, they know how to dodge.

Yes, I don’t know if you watched the interview with developers on twitch or not but from what i gathered, before we get a live leader board we are going to be getting a ranking list, not showing our rating but showing our standing, this will not show how far rank 1 is off rank 2 in rating though.

Am I right in thinking that the way the current rating system works is that teams are matched based on a combined average of all the players in each team? Doesn’t this mean that we are not only not playing with players our own ability or against? It just means that the numbers are level?

For example:
Ratings of team 1 – 20 – 20 -20 -20 -20
Ratings of team 2 – 0 – 0 – 0 – 0 – 100
Clearly the team 2 is at a dis-advantage?

But this isn’t just affecting because because they lose but it is not fun to neither play against people a lot better or worse than you.

I would like to suggest that tournaments operate on a bracket system, for example ratings of 1-100 play each other? 100-200 play each other etc. I understand that this may cause issues with numbers but this may solve the numbers issue in the first place and could bring players back.

What do you guys think about this situation, if i am correct in the fact that this is how the match ups are based?

Because we all obviously love this game type with all of the great feedback they have got.

Agreed, I think ANET should maybe test before they update? Took Players less than an hour to find new bugs. 1. New(broken) Spirit map is broken. 2. Gargyole staff doesn’t present skills to the player in pvp. 3. Trident Tokens are 7 Glory? OMG Cheap Tokens!

Another point.

How do we know that this ‘rating’ System is actually there and were not just been fooled? How does it calculate? How long will it take for it to be accurate?

What! Forgot to change dialog to correct wording? Say’s in the ‘Tell me about quick paid tournaments’ That It still costs tickets?

Is the new Feature in Battle Of Kyhlo that we get dc’ed 3rd way through the match and get to start fresh?

So twice me an my team have got to the 3rd round today and about 300 points we get dc’ed both teams. Us and the other team, then we have to wait to rejoin third round and we start at 0-0.

Nice new feature? Or maybe a bug?

They annoucned already balance changes are not in jan but Feb. So thats not suprising, the ridiculous cost of 3 tickets for 1 tourny match that awards no gems is the issue now.

Yes what are players meant to do now, spend tickets then pay to play a free game?

PvP players are cast to the side? – again.

So we will all come back to play GW2 in Feb – March?

‘Skill bars now have team-colored backgrounds in sPvP’ – Going to make my experience in pvp so much better, who needs new game types when you have pretty colours.

Temple of the Silent Storm Week – As much as having a extra map in Paid tournaments is lovely…. why?

As much as we love having pretty colours and ‘Polish visuals’( What the hell is this?). We would like content, not tweaking.

PvP is being neglected and people are leaving because of it – “Making the game better for new players” There will only be new players left.

I agree with you, I just wish they would get on with all these ‘updates’ for PvP when it’s meant to be a pvp game.

I believe this is the right thread for this.

In PvP you work hard for armor to look good, and some ‘hard core’ PvPer’s like these basic rewards which is fine( not the issue).

Yes the rewards are not what we all would like, but when you log onto Guild Wars 2 the visual you see on character selection is the PvE gear which your PVP Character hasn’t worked for?
Should there not be an option for people who work hard for little reward i PvP to atleast have there best armor shown at character selection?
Isn’t this game meant to be PvP based?
