I seem to crash all the time in heavy wvw situations and crowded world events. Can anyone help? Here’s the error message I get. It won’t let me post the whole thing on forum, so I deleted stuff that may or may not be relevant.

I’m not sure if I am the only one, but pre-patch there would be times I would not crit out of stealth. Unless there is some sort of stat in the game which cancels critical hits then I don’t know why caused this.

Very poor taste 3 80’s vs 6 up-scales isn’t even close to a fair fight. In particular having come from ferg I know they don’t have the strongest wvw players. Reminds of yesterday I was running through wvw and a player from my server killed an up-scaled player and refused to finish them letting them res to nearly full health when downed then take them down again telling me not to finish them because it was funny. Naturally I finished them. No reason to ruin new players outlook on wvw just because you want to feel like a man or something.

Who do you guys like to target when fighting groups or zergs?

For me I always go for the rangers, so easy and fast to down with D/D compared to other classes, besides thieves but tough to fight in big zergs, always good to help your team with another body to rally off of.

Right.

The change is that if you don’t exit stealth via an attack (in other words stealth drops via duration), you STILL get a revealed debuff. This means you can’t “almost-chain-stealth” forever with CND every 3.01 seconds.

Ah I see then. It seems like this will mainly affect my escapes and those basically “perma” stealth thieves which I hate, not like they they kill me I just get bored and leave.

Ok I’m a bit confused on what this means and I have heard mixed details. For me when I am in wvw roaming I usually F1 onto someone which stealths me (due to trait) then backstab which causes reveal then I dodge or auto attack until reveal is gone then CND- backstab and continue this for a melee fight. This nerf won’t change this scenario at all right?

Not sure why people are complaining about having weak cpus for this. GW2 Is a GPU intensive game. I constantly monitor my system resources on my Logitech keyboards lcd screen. I run an i7-3820 and a GTX 660 TI both of which are approximately the same price. Cpu usage is around 15-20% while gpu is consistently at 80-99%. Running at 60hZ 2560×1440 ultra settings.

Well I run D/D SB for wvw, but for fractals I always include P/P and SB the interrupt and higher single target damage makes it superior for the bosses there.

Lighting Strike vs Flame Blast

Assumingly, you would think single target attacks would do more damage, which it does, but I had to test it out myself.
Lightning Strike does a bit more damage than Flame Blast, but having the AoE helps.
These were just numbers that I tested in HotM:
Lightning Strike – 1687
Flame Blast – 1407
Approximately 300 more damage than Flame Blast.

Nice thanks for the info. Currently I am thinking of how to rework my sigils, I believe I’m using flat crit% and damage %. I’m probably going to move to sigil of fire and not sure what for the secondary. Maybe bloodlust? I’m not sure if my play style leads to effectively keeping high stacks though. Have any recommendations?

I’m a little bit confused on these two skills from sigils, flame blast is obviously an aoe compared to the single target lighting strike, but is it also stronger single target? I don’t really understand what the wiki means.

I have always been a fan of housing in games. By housing I mean actual housing on the map. Not clicking a sign post or button and being teleported into a “house” instance.

One game that has had the best housing systems of any games I have played is called Tibia. You would actually rent houses on the map with your virtual currency and you could decorate them as you please, store items, “sleep” in them, and invite others into it, make them sub owners, specific rights, ect.

I’d love for guild wars 2 housing to be like this, though it will be difficult with the number of players. Obviously houses should be somewhat exclusive and cost a sufficient amount that a player would need to work to get it. of course different sizes and features can add or subtract value from the house.

My idea for this is to have certain maps have housing maps attached to them. Theses maps would maintain the style of the zone they are attached to, but would be some what cookie cutter in layout. You would then buy a plot of land where you can construct your house. All kinds of additional upgrades could be chosen to make your house physically bigger, inside and out. I also like the idea of being able to display your mini’s, display equipment, having house pets, house buffs, and the idea of house events.

Random house events could be just like the ones on the main maps, kill the burglars, fix the sewer system, rat invasion ect.

Anyway what do you guys think?

Definitely been the funnest wvwing I’ve had since joining Yak’s, some of it is due to new guild members and strategies, but for the most part the fights have all been pretty good and decently matched. I do wish everyone’s prime time overlapped more though.

Occasionally it does not critical hit, not sure whether there is a cool down that isn’t listed or if there is some type of bug at work.

Well it is all about everyone’s personal preference. I just think that weapons aren’t near as beautiful as armors in most cases and have very little customization if any.

As for the glowing effects I just thought it would be cool to get a corrupted or destroyers charm or something to give said effects to any weapon.

For me as a personal preference I am not a fan of motion control or touch gaming. I think it has its place in casual games and possibly even rts, but I feel it doesn’t really have a place in full 3d gaming.

Thats all debatable and my personal preference.

As for technology as an industrial designer I have used many difference touch products from touch screen laptops and other drawing pads. The ones that I have enjoyed the most are wacom intuos tablets and cintiqs, both of which are quite expensive.

I don’t know what kind of tech that controller uses, but there may be limitations like lighting, processing requirements or other issues, but as for it working with guild wars 2 I think there are way too many hotkeys to control skills, movements, ui and other game-play elements. I doubt there would be enough complex motions to take care of all that and even if there were I don’t think it would be fun or competitive to play like that.

A feature that I have always wanted in the mmos I have played is to have some level of integration across multiple devices.

What I envision is a type of “Guild Wars Lite” feature that you can play via html or a smartphone app. Something that you could play on the go and in scenarios where you couldn’t play a full fledged client game.

As for content I see this going many different ways from puzzle games to home simulators to lite turnbased gaming. The possibilities are pretty much endless.

The most important aspect though it would be played through “your” character and you would receive benefits in the main game.

Say for instance you are at work and you play a blacksmithing mini game on your character for awhile. When log into the game on your pc you might receive a mail with your “payment” in the form of silver.

I’m sure some people won’t like this, but it would be completely optional and the benefits received wouldn’t be comparable to playing in game. This would mainly be geared to those who have less time to sit down and play and to giving a players are more immersive experience.

The industry is moving towards more cross platform integration and this seems like a logical way to do it.

Personally I would love to see this feature, but it seems like many mmos don’t want to have to pay for voice servers as well as game servers. Maybe they could implement an item mall item or an optional service charge or even a one time cost to enable voice chat on your character? I’m sure guild leaders and raid parties would love this function.

I feel like this feature wouldn’t be difficult to implement and considering that the team made native support for the lcd screen on my keyboard… I think this would be a much more worthwhile endeavor.

Anyone else agree that 90% of weapon skins are quire boring? For every set of weapons the majority of them don’t have any flash or flair to them and the ones that do cost an insane amount of money.

This wouldn’t be an issue to me if the armor sets weren’t so much cooler than the weapons. They seem to have more detail and you can dye them in all sorts of colors for unikittenfects. Even cheap armor sets look great while only the most expensive of weapons do.

Obviously armor sets are more pronounced due to their size on the charter, but there just seems to be a lot more thought put into them.

I know that when you zoom in heavily on weapons you can see some intricate details, but this is not something that happens too often. I think they should developed skins that are more interesting and maybe have some type of customization. It would be awesome to change the type of metal from say steel to copper or gold or mithril while still maintaining the weapons skin structure. The same could be said for the wood with different types and different stains. Also, maybe different types of “glowy” effects could be crafted with rare materials and added to any weapon.

What do you guys think?

Personally I think 1 one handed legendaries should take half the supplies of 2 handed ones.

Alternatively 1 handed weapons should come with an account bound, statless skin that could be used on your secondary weapon.

One of my personal goals is to make a legendary, its going to take me forever and to do so and I will feel quite accomplished once I do. After all that work I would still have a secondary weapon that looks dull and be expected to do all that work again. Few players will ever get a legendary and what % of them would have 2?

I doubt they would make the cost less because it would anger those who already made them, but if a legendary skin showed up in their mailboxes I bet they would be ecstatic about it.
