Condi ranger will most likely get nerfed in the coming months. So it’ll be out of the meta by the time you hit 80/have all the gear
condi druid probably
I’ve never seen a development team try to actively kill their own game. It’s actually astonishing to watch.
It honestly feels like the devs don’t even play the game.
I’d like rifle. But what I’d really like is to have the longbow make its way back to the ranger meta. It’s ridiculous that I can’t use my LB for raids/fractals.
It’s not so much that I want the pet gone. It’s just the horrible implementation/AI that I want fixed.
For example, the F2 ability on the electric wyvern: Even on a stationary target, it lunges forward and like 80% of the time it overshoots and misses. The AoE circle doesn’t make contact with the enemy.
And the bristleback in PvP. It takes a legit 4-5 seconds for its F2 ability to start firing. And when it does, it’s extremely telegraphed and easy to dodge. There goes basically all my damage as a bunker druid.
Fix the kitten AI. Make the F2 ability instant and accurate. Make them switch targets as soon as you do.
I only have zerker’s ascended armor. I’d have to spent 800g+ to get a magi’s set just to beat the fractal? That’s pretty insane.
I really hope they buff normal ranger soon.
I’ve run level 100 nightmare challenge mote on my ranger with a bunch of different groups and wasn’t able to beat it. I simply wasn’t able to bring enough DPS for the 66%/33% phases on the second boss. I tried several different builds and couldn’t do anything. Druid was completely useless because of its low DPS and inability to buff my team since we’re so spread out. And full on condi just dies in seconds, it takes 2 of the fireballs to kill me.
Is there anyone who’s done it with a ranger? Is it physically possible?
It’s awful. I do high level fractals mostly, and even when I switch to sword/axe to raise my DPS, I can’t last long in melee range since we have no blocks/reflects/etc in the meta builds. Even with that increased DPS, we’re dead last out of every single major build in the game : https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4v76gq/qt_updated_guides_and_dps_benchmarks_for_all/
On top of that, longbow builds up the avatar bar SO SLOWLY compared to using a staff. But I can’t even use a staff because I need the CC from my longbow. So I can’t even be a reliable healer.
I honestly don’t even join groups that already have a ranger because I know we likely won’t have enough DPS to win.
Hey guys, I was thinking of reinstalling GW2 and potentially buying HoT if the ranger situation has improved any. I’ve noticed on metabattle that rangers are not in the Raid meta, and our only meta build is still the LB spotter, even with the introduction of Druids. I’m guessing druids have been a complete bust for us in terms of competitive gameplay. Is it worth it to come back if I main ranger?
Like the title says, is it possible to beat a skilled condi mesmer that knows how to clone/etc with a ranger?
If so, can someone give me a quick guide or some tips on how to beat one?
Easily ranger. Why play a profession that gets kicked out fractals and dungeon groups just for being a ranger?
I just want to get a few honest opinions on whether or not it’s worth it to max out/keep working on my ranger for PvP?
I feel like rangers are extremely useless and outclassed in every aspect in PvP. At first I figured I was just probably bad at PvP, but I tried sPvP with my level 31 warrior and dominated a few games without even knowing my build.
Has anyone had real success with rangers? Or should I move on to a different class? I really love rangers, but it’s just not fun being outclassed in every game.
bump .
I already despise the pvp in this game. I’ve leveled two characters to 80, 100% map completion, etc.
I’m a longtime guildwars 1 fan, so I’m trying to find reasons to keep playing..
I’m trying to get ideas on what to do in game…any ideas?
Oh never really checked that slot, but I had one equipped.
Ty for the info!
Can anyone tell me what a back slot is?
I don’t even see the point of a guild lol.
There’s no GVG, can’t pvp with your guild, etc
Well that’s unfortunate, I’ve been waiting for the quest for almost a week, guess my timing is off..
There is no event, how am I supposed to retake the zone?
Umm well the waypoints have been contested for about a week now….so it’s still bugged?
Its not a bug, there are risen inside the waypoints, and they’re contested. There aren’t enough human players to overtake it
I can’t access the high end karma armor venders in Cursed shore and Malchor’s leap because the way points are contested 24/7. I’ve been trying to solo the risen at the waypoints, but I always get flash mobbed and killed.
What can I do to free these waypoints?
There are dozens of jump puzzles in the game, you can find them on wiki I think. You can try to do dungeons too.
That’s about it
Can anyone explain why there’s a tax in this game?
This game feels like a single player RPG. They made it too easy to complete tasks by yourself. GW1 had the perfect balance, where you could solo areas with henchies/heroes but you needed a human team for the higher end areas.
And another thing, dungeons are horrendous in GW2. Every monster seems to have 20k health and does 2k per autoattack. There’s very little skill involved, just run for your life while hopefully doing some damage. GW1 dungeons and high end areas needed strategy and teamwork to complete.
That’s ridiculous. who says im looking for “optimal pvx” builds? I want to experiment and find cool/fun builds. I really doubt you played GW1 if you think the skills weren’t used
Even besides that, we can’t even move skills around. What if I want my elite to be first on my bar, my healing skill last, etc
Changing hotkeys is in the menu. They even support the Shift modifier.
THUMBS UP Anet!
(But only for this)
Lol I’m not going to change all my hotkeys everytime I switch characters.
GW1 you could drag and drop skills into different slots, how hard was that to do?
(edited by Agent Mulder.4531)
I would be very surprised if they wouldn’t add new skills sooner or later. Game has just come out they wanted to keep it balanced and thousands of skills and class mixes sure would make it hard to make it balanced.
Well it’s not about the amount of skills available (although that could be much better too), it’s about the skill setup being so restrictive.. Like your entire left bar is a preset depending on your weapon, why is that? Why not give people a couple of different skills they could choose from that’s relevant to the weapon.
On the right side you’re forced to have 1 healing, 3 utility and 1 elite.. Why not let people have 5 utility if they want? or 3 healing, 1 elite and 1 utility? That would allow people to play and set up their skills the way they want to, not the way that somewhat best resembles what they want, given the few options they have to do with. I really hate how they forced everyone to have that particular setup.. It’s the direct opposite of what GW1 was/is famous for.
Exactly, even the “free” skill slots are restricted.
Even besides that, we can’t even move skills around. What if I want my elite to be first on my bar, my healing skill last, etc
How am I years late if the game just came out
I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this, it was the biggest/best thing in GW1.
It’s pure laziness on their part. They don’t want to balance new builds that innovative players make, so they take it completely out
Did anet give a reason why they took out the hundreds of interchangeable skills? And why they took out secondary professions?
IMO this was the best part of GW1 and it’s why it was so unique. Experimenting with builds and profession/secondary combinations was the most fun I had on an MMORPG.
Not only was it fun, but it also added a social aspect to the game. People in groups would need to actually TALK and discuss plans/builds. Without it, this game is basically a singleplayer game with a trading post.
Any thoughts on this?
Still bugged on Sea of Sorrows
