Warrior roaming in wvw seems to have greatly improved. Kind of like those perma invis thief with much more “run-away~” mobility and killing power, but no stealth.
Now correct me if I’m wrong on this, because I haven’t personally done a test, but melandru’s runes(25%) + dogged march(33%) + lemon grass(40%) brings them up to 98% reduction of movement impairing conditions. Pair that with their great mobility and shield blocks, I’ve found it incredibly hard to secure a kill on these guys. Is 98% movement condition reduction even legal?
Of course if those 3 items I mentioned isn’t additive, it will make more sense. Can someone more knowledgeable in this clarify if warriors really get 98% cripple, chill, immobilize reduction? Thanks!

PS. Seeing the forums I see a lot of GS/Mace OP~ thread. Please keep GS/Hammer + Mace out of the discussion. I just want to know if the 3 items are additive or they take the highest # (as with move speed) or maybe % of the reduced % or something. Although 98% reduction is insane lol

Haha I remember seeing the [WM] tag with Warr Machine spelling. I pointed, laughed, and proceeded to roll them over with my allies.

It’s rare to see SBI wvw thread full of 90% whining. Probably cause we we’re usually the one being slaughtered until now. I think they have bigger zerg and coverage of keyboard warriors

I’ve been waiting patch after patch, but I’ve yet to see the tool tips fixed. How many games have tool tip state “6 sec of this” but only lasts 1/2 the stated duration? Same with the traits that don’t work as stated. I like how you guys are putting out new things monthly, but can you please fix all the tool tips that define the skills and traits~ pleaaase?

Well, I’m hoping the new guild quest can be something like a raid (more than 5 ppl dungeon-ish style). The reward can be many things, such as tokens for new skins (countess anise, I’m looking at your clothes.. err), guild-related buffs/influence/titles/achievements/etc.

Raids don’t mean additional item tiers, and I hope ascended is the last of it (imagine GW2 with many item tiers, the colors will be like an aftermath of an oil spill).

Just to clarify, you’ll no longer be able to use waypoints when a party member is in combat inside a dungeon. This is prevent people from using waypoints to rush and kill bosses or clear areas, which is not intended game play.

Man, now it’ll be such a pain in the kitten to run new guildies through dungeons after this. I can imagine the new guys all dying at things like AC exp p3 boss and leaving the rest to do everything.

As for PUGs..
“LFG xx exp path x 80s only with experience!” will become ever more popular hehe

I see all the discussion about ranged aoe. But how about melee (axe, sword, hammer, gs, mace) AOE? Plus, I think the real OP aoe are the ‘line/dome’ aoe that affects the entire zergs rather than those crappy 5-target limit ones. I didn’t see the official post so maybe I’m missing something. I’ll just have to wait until they release this ‘change’!

Incredibly funny thread. If it’s that much of an emergency alt+F4, simple. At most it might cost you 1s, I haven’t tested it in pve environment after the change. As for someone’s talking to you? Say it was an emergency, and had to leave in middle of a fight. It’s same thing afking for few hour because you had something to do(to die that many times). You reallly think someone will talk to an afk person for hours..? You’re going to die if you leave immediately anyways, why not just quit?

Seriously? Tell me, all the people who are asking the OP why he can’t just do X, what is the downside of adding this feature? Almost none of you given ACTUAL reasons, besides, ‘why don’t you just do X instead?’ Give reasons why such a system should not be put in place, don’t start by just saying well you can do this instead. With that line of reasoning, nothing would ever get improved, because hey, we have horses, we don’t need cars!

People gave pretty good reasons. Just because you’re focused on pve perspective doesn’t mean everyone only thinks about pve. It will be a big issue in the wvw. Plus, you want anet to waste time on this instead of fixing all the tooltips and improving the game? I guess pressing alt+F4 is too much of a hassel, because pressing 2 buttons is too much work. In that line of reasoning, future shop needs a giant red button device that presses alt+F4 for your daily needs. (sounds fun honestly)

And for those talking about ‘exploiting’ such a system, WoW has this same system, and I have yet to hear anyone complain about ‘res confirmation exploiting’.

Never played WoW, but does it have class that can portal 20 people into a keep that is vital defensive point in a wvw? Please inform yourself little more before talking people down. Just because it’s tested in that game (with diff mechanic) doesn’t mean it works here.

Target "Nearest Enemy" Button

Hi, I think the ‘target nearest enemy’ button should ignore yellow monsters if red enemies are around you (or just ignore yellow completely). I’ve only had real issue with this during WvW, where stealth will take couple seconds for culling, and impossible to mouse click to target after their stealth. So I spam the ‘target nearest enemy’ button, but if the target (thief usually) is hiding behind a random mob he’ll be safe to re-stealth.
Besides, why are yellow ‘enemy’ anyways? They’re basically neutrals that only attack back when hit (except those devious little dredge).

Plus, sometimes I see a target right infront of me, but when i click the ‘target nearest enemy’ button, it’ll target someone who’s out of range.. weird. Anyone know why this occurs? (i don’t have ‘target next enemy’ on keybind)

kitten, hypocrisy, cowardice. I’ve been watching you ‘for the realm’ zergers pat yourselves on the back for about 10 years now, and it never ceases to amuse me.
You are awful players who get destroyed any time you don’t have a massive numerical advantage, unless of course you’re fighting other awful zergers. There’s no honor in what you do. You aren’t some great general fighting to save his lands. You’re just a bad who happens to be a little more into the roleplaying aspect of MMORPGs than most.
If I end up in a situation where your numbers are able to overcome my skill, then I have absolutely no problem using my last recourse to deny you a kill that you most certainly don’t deserve. If that’s a problem, where’s the statement from Anet saying they consider it an exploit and want it to stop? As far as I know, Anet has never said a word about their stance on it..

In my opinion, portal is ruining the game

1. Portal isnt OP because it can transport forces, its that it can trivialize any battle by transporting a limitless number of forces.
- “Limitless number of forces” come from where? I suppose players pop out of ground infront of the portal entrance like ninja karkas when it’s up. I’ve yet to see enough organization where mesmers transport troops from wp to the battlefront (would be incredibly powerful though)

2. It is also incredibly easy to pull off and very difficult to counter. Aoe on the portal exit is only effective for small groups since the damage spreads out and can easily be healed through with guardians/eles.
- … really?… you know that there are ‘aoe damage’ as well (and more classes have them than aoe heals). Plus, the portal’d team will all be in 1 point, while the other will be spread out surrounding them. So they can focus on a single spot if they know what portal does. It’s just matter of defending team realizing there’s a portal there and reacting in time. (but most zerg are probably tunneling their vision)

3. Mass melee is countered by pushbacks and eles popping tornado before they go through. Anything that destroys the spirit of combat to such a degree needs to be reevaluated. Toning portal down isnt going to ruin anyone’s fun, unless you consider using incredibly OP tactics fun.
- aoe+cc =/= mass melee. Just saying. And if anything, portal gives more diverse tactics of combat than digging a trench and throwing mud at each other, or charging in because you have larger zerg.

portal is kind of like paradrop. If it’s successful you can catch opponent off-guard and obliterate them. On the other hand, it can wipe you out instead, because your team will be at the center of focus for all their damage.

Portals are ok as it is imo. It has its strength to move many players to a location (fire power), but its flaw is that they’ll pour out of a single point. Sort of like muta stacking in sc. It is strong, but portal’s color makes it stand out like a sore thumb, making it implode with aoe cc+dmg. I think what could change to make portal easier to counter for our beloved zergs are:
1. Make portal colored by team (maybe just red for all enemy and green for ally, just for wvw)
2. Perhaps after portal is opened, there’s ~3 sec delay before it ‘opens completely’.

I see a lot of ‘use portals x5’ a lot… srsly? Might as well say in a tool-tip ‘for spvp+dungeons only’ or name it ‘spectral marathon’. The nerfs you people think of just want to make portal completely useless, rather than making it counter-able.

PS. I think portal flanking, instead of ‘bombing’ of your location is a lot harder to counter and quite efficient.. but requires actual coordination from 2 sides.

I have 80 ele, mesmer, warr, and thiefaltaholic myself). And I can tell you, thief can do quite well in WvW weaving through a medium sized zerg fight without only relying on SB(20 v 20ish). Any larger and you’ll be burned like marshmallows.
You should take a look at tanky condition thieves. It’s a different kind of fun compared to casters, and I enjoy mine greatly when assassinating low hp targets in the backline of enemy zerg

Well, from pve&wvw view, the hammer’s 3rd hit already has aoe that hits behind you as its effect. I think that’s actually quite good, coupled with its f1 (i like the hammer’s the most out of all of the warrior’s melee wpns). AOE still counts as an ‘effect’ in my book.

PS. comparison was just terrible.. if the conjured hammer didn’t have any perk, why would ele conjure it? Do warriors want one of their banner replaced by one that gives no buff but looks cool to carry? It’ll be fun to just carry it around! For example, you can be a flag-carrier for your team, and free tokens for your enemy in wvw.

To start off, I run GS+s/f. For the LoS issue, it doesn’t bother me much as a non-spvp casual-ish player. I just use GS #1 as a ‘laser marker’. If it hits i can summon the phantasm, if not, I just move around. However, it have gotten impossible to hit siege equip on top of castle now, so I’m forced to just scout around during sieges to stop/scout enemy support, supply run, and pull a few tarts off the wall.

However, in pve and wvw, the invulnerable, blind, dodge, and block change has affected me a lot more. Especially during the karka event! omg those crabs and their dodges!! I’m sure the nerfs were intentionally timed lol~
As for wvw, I have focus, so I still have good amount of options to catch runners with GS2+f3, focus #4,3, and GS4.

But I’ll agree the nerfs were quite hard. Why don’t they make these nerfs less of a ‘giant bomb package’ (which nerfed mesmers that relies on phantasms[dmg&supp] this patch), and more of a ‘series of small jabs’ with small notes on what direction they’re going with the changes? Being left in the complete dark puts me in the ’they’re throwing random solutions’ mind-set. Plus I think they’re having too many large events in a short period of time, and should increase the bug-fixes, with little more feedback. My pack of 2 cents.
