Like I said. “Playing well” doesn’t translate to camping your main hand attunement in lightning. That’s not weaver. That’s only half of a weaver (2 elements only).

There is nothing “played well” here, no “tactical depth” that people speak of. It’s godkitten camping attunements and there is absolutely nothing great about it.

When we want to access an attunement skill and the attunement is not on cd, we should be able to double tap the attunement or use the attunement + F5 button (both ideas seem perfect to me). Traits and swap effects can be adjusted to work in a balanced way.

And please stop repeating that you can swap between earth/fire by pressing fire again in this matter, everybody knows. This is completely irrelevant since you still have to camp 2 attunements to have skills ready. That’s not weaver and the elite skill also supports that perspective, to utilize all 4 elements at any given time.

The only thing it needs is a faster animation.

Make sword attacks faster and it’ll improve our hitrate & DPS & chaining issues while also not making me fall asleep on my keyboard as I watch the slow autos.

You get like 2s of superspeed at a 15s ICD, when there are classes that are literally spamming chill on almost every attack. 15s ICD for what it does currently is a terrible joke. 8s ICD would make me consider taking the trait in PvP/WvW.

I really would love to play an Air / Arcane / Weaver for the superspeed but with the lack of condi removal on stances there simply isn’t enough to survive against condi builds (and with Unravel Hexes not working as everyone initially thought…).

The game designers for elementalist should stop making every WvW build dependable on Water trait line because it’s honestly getting annoying to the point where we have nearly 0 variations of viable builds.

Water / Arcane / Weaver is one of the best choices but again it has no damage. You’re basically forced to go Arcane for the boons (swiftness, prot & regen for clears) & lower attunement ICD. I mean roaming/raiding in WvW without Swiftness is a pain on S/D without Arcane.

And Water is another must-have to survive against condi specs. So tell me this, Arena Net: If we are forced to take certain trait lines just to make us viable at surviving, how can we possibly do decent damage? You are killing theorycrafting with the imbalance of trait lines for WvW/PvP. Is PvE really the only thing you care about?

With Water / Arcane / Weaver which is like the minimum QoL to survive on Sw/D you’re hitting like a wet noodle. What we need is a 4th trait line (but that would be op without additional changes) or improved sustain & condi removal in non-water trait lines. I already mentioned a possible change which is to give weaver stances a condi removal so we’re less bound to taking Water to be viable.

Water is way too strong or rather the other more offensive trait lines don’t give you much condi cleanse. Sure there’s Cleansing Fire trait on the Fire line but it likes to auto-proc in the worst situations where you don’t need it due to its AI nature.

May I remind you that GW1 had gazillion of viable builds and much better theorycrafting for builds than this game? Ele was a really versatile class with many possible builds, and guess what: Ele could actually do damage. Not hit like a wet noodle.

I really love GW (1 & 2) and that is why I would like to see more build variations. However the trait lines are far from equal in terms of competitive PvP viability and I wished ANet would do something about it.

Sorry, but there is no tactical depth in always staying in Lightning attunement just so you have an RTL ready on swap when you need to escape. Locking the player in one attunement is essentially the same as killing the core elementalist mechanic. I’m not gonna stay in Air 24/7 just so I can access RTL faster. There really is no tactical depth in that and people need to stop thinking there is.

Weaver as it stands lacks condi removal (even with Water) and if we take any other trait line than Water we’re just completely kittened when condi spammed.

The issue is that cantrip utilities can proc regen which procs condi removal.

Stances do not have any condition removal and can’t be traited for that.

While Unravel Hexes might be working as intended, it still doesn’t justify the lack of condi removal on weaver skills / stances / traits.

I personally wished Unravel Hexes would work like the community imagined it to work (with some interval tweaks to not make it op), so that we could experiment with Air / Arcane / Weaver (#FINALLY CHANGING WATER TRAIT LINE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2012).

In GW1 they made certain skills/mechanics different for PvE and PvP, it’s their own fault for not doing that in GW2. But don’t get me started on why GW1 was better in nearly everything gameplay-related…

I’ve also had some fun with staff weaver on glass cannon build but I don’t consider it a serious build for top guilds. Rather a gimmick. Once a single guy decides to take you out, it’s over.

It’s fun for a while, especially at choke points, but then you have an open field fight with no chokes and realize you could have dealt much more damage if you were actually a little tankier and simply survived longer. (WvW perspective, that is)

But I agree that on choke points, making the choke hot with Lava Font, Meteor Shower, Plasma Blast, Pile Driver and the likes is super fun. It’s just that, far from every fight involves choke points, especially on bigger maps.

Nice joke. Have fun surviving anywhere in PvP/WvW with a zerker/marauder ele when people are running around with permanent 40-50% power damage reduction (food + buffs + auras).

Condi dmg is the meta because it only needs one stat (unlike power, prec, ferocity which are 3), ignores enemy Toughness and allows you take defensive stats as well while maintaining the same damage as a power build.

It is a core design problem of GW2, which is why everyone slowly but steadily realizes condi specs are far superior since they can make you tanky and dps’y (Trailblazer I’m looking at you).

In fact the only barely viable Weaver spec right now is a condi one. And a condi weaver beats a power weaver while eating a sandwich in one hand, it’s that ridiculous.

This should remove a defined number of conditions of any type while in superspeed state, else it’s too weak as a Grandmaster trait.

Unravel is a complete design failure and needs to be reworked.

Reactive gameplay – I see A, I do B – is not possible with 4 second min delay on offhand skills, hence needs a rework as well (e.g. no cd on same attunement).

Yes. I’ve heard this idea on multiple occasions now.

The “swap-to-same-attunement-without-cd” idea is definitely is a good one and needs to be implemented to have some basic reactive gameplay that vanilla ele always had.

Glyphs are beyond awful right now but if they worked with the 2 elements of the weaver they might just barely become viable taking a slot in PvP/WvW.

In any case they’re garbage & underused right now so I would welcome this change.

The low damage is a terrible joke considering that slow animation.

Even as a fire field, it’s probably the worst fire field we have given its low duration.

Weaver has an incredibly high skill ceiling but there is simply no reward for learning the class.

“High complexity high reward” is what it should be, but instead it’s just complex and weak. Damage numbers, barrier numbers and even heals are a joke. You can go full glass cannon and lose all matches, or you can go condi with no sustain. Or you can go sustain and just “be there” and smile about how useless you are.

Power builds have become useless ever since people realized that 1 stat for damage (condi dmg) is better than having to invest into 3 stats for damage (power). Power builds need Power, Precision AND Ferocity. There is almost no space left for defensive stats. Condi builds only need A SINGLE STAT to do the same damage. That leaves them more options for defensive stats which is why condi is meta in WvW.

Build theorycrafting is boring since 2 of the trait lines are pretty much locked in must-haves (Arcane & Weaver). Or have you ever tried to do WvW without Swiftness and Protection?

Unravel hexes – as a grandmaster trait – only removes movement impairing conditions and has a ridiculous ICD despite how useless it is.

Polaric Leap has a range that is a complete joke. It should be 900 range.

Stances don’t have any condi clear so that cantrips are still superior choices in nearly every slot. The one stance trait that we have gives us a SINGLE stack of stability (have fun surviving in WvW…).

The “undo weaver” skill is a sarcastic and bad joke. As if I’d take a utility slot to undo the elite spec that I’m playing. Just make re-attuning to the same attunement have 1s cd or even lower.

Overall the class is not worth learning since the reward for mastering the class is too low.

The disappointment that is called Weaver will prevent me from buying Path of Fire. Money saved. I’m not buying a horribly designed and underpowered class for a full 30 bucks.

Rune effects that trigger when a healing skill is used (Balthazar, Aristocracy, etc.) do not work with the new heal “Aquatic Stance”.

I think I found only a single rune where it worked but the majority of them do not.

Utterly useless trait if it only removes the listed conditions. Weaver as it stands has nearly no condition removal, not even a way to remove conditions via stances (unlike cantrips).

If we had a single type of dungeon token we could always invite friends to the dungeons so that they can profit from the run as well (in terms of tokens):


Friend B: “Oh yeah, as I get generic dungeon tokens which I can use for all those sets in Lion’s Arch, sure, let’s go!”
