Triple Trouble: I think it is too hard

It’s great to see all the various communities pointed out on this thread. As one of gw2community’s TT commanders, I can confirm we’re still doing a minimum of 2 runs per day (check out the calendar to see when they are http://gw2community.com/calendar/) and also run a variety of other events during the week as well.

We do like everyone to be on teamspeak, although we know there will always be a number of people who stumble across us when we choose a map who will not be on ts. Full explainations of the event are done each run, and we also gather on teamspeak for our “jump” at 30 min before the event’s pre-timer starts. The various communities tend to jump at slightly different times so we have less chance of conflicting with each other as we look for those elusive empty (or as empty as possible) maps so we can get as many of the people in teamspeak onto our chosen map as we can.

As noted above, communities ARE seeing fewer people come along to the organised runs, so if you’re looking to complete the event (for masteries or for the challenge/fun of it) then do come along and bring your friends too! It can still be done with lower numbers on teamspeak, but we’re still looking for new people who want to learn the skilled roles that the event requires.

Those skilled roles are:

The Condies: Can be any profession, so long as they are wearing condition stat gear and are capable of stacking large amounts of conditions on a single target. Their job is to melt down the Champion Husks that the heads spit out every 90 seconds.

The Diboofs(aka Egg blockers, the name we use has a story behind it): The diboofs can be any profession that has access to a reasonable number of projectile reflects, although obviously some professions are better at it than others. Elementalists, Mesmers, and Guardians are the usual choices for these. Their job is to block the 9 eggs the wurms spit out every 40-45 seconds, as these hatch into larvae that can quickly fill the arenas with deadly AoEs.

Without these two roles filled, the event areas will fill up with a maximum of 9 husks and 27 larvae, and even just a fraction of these numbers will render the event impossible to complete. Anyone who has gone along on an unorganised map will be familiar with the havoc these mobs can cause. Communities are also at times finding themselves short on those who can complete these roles, so if you’re joining our runs and want to learn, just join the condi/egg-blocker groups and the experienced ones will show you the ropes. We’re also always on the look out for more people interested in learning to command the event

So do come along, join TT with any community that does the runs at the times best for you/in your region. We’re always welcome to newcomers

I use GS on guardian for general PvE and for Fractals. It’s actually key to my condi-dps hybrid build, which works on maximising the Justice procs. GS has 3 excellent skills for this. A 5-mob pull for yanking things close to you (or if they are already close, throw it and leave it on so it can pulse), Symbol of Wrath which will also pulse a number of times on 5 mobs, and Whirling Wrath (with 5 mobs and the relevant trait) will proc Justice 11 times just on its own. To put in perspective, when pulling off the full combo so I get my might stacks, my Whirling Wrath will apply 15.4K of AoE burning damage all on its own on each of the 5 mobs. Full combo with 5 mobs (if they even live through it) will apply 91K of burning damage over a period of about 6 seconds, and that’s not counting the massive spike of direct damage as well.

It’s not as good on single target sustained fights as the current meta builds with hammer etc, but against clusters of 3 or more, with some smart weapon-swapping to scepter/torch when you’re at 1-2 mobs, to quote a friend I showed the build to “Oh gosh the numbers”

I love it for fractals and PVE, even if I would never use it for raids (not that I use Guard for raids). Nuking a ball of veterans/elites and literally watching them go up in flames in a few seconds never gets old >:D

Golden Ooze nearly impossible to complete

The easiest way to kill that ooze, and I’ve done it with just myself and one other person there, is to lure the champ round and round the pillar as you fight it. The little oozes move so slowly they can’t keep up, and so they never get close enough to the champ to heal it.

With this strategy, you can kill the ooze very quickly

Anet have, from time-to-time, done little stories in the blogs on the website. They’re usually littered with bits of lore, and are often humorous, and are generally for a bit of fun.

They’ve also been known to put npcs from those stories in the game as cameos. An example of this would be the sylvari and her fern hound you can find near the entrance into the central building in Black Citadel

I mean seriously, you need only read what he does to a certain commanding officer near the start of the book to get that idea xD

I really really REALLY want a mini Dozer (The tiny spider npc that spawns in a certain alcove in Citadel of Flame, which then follows you around with love hearts over it’s head and an “Infatuated: So in love!” buff on it.

They could even keep him “life sized” since he’s so small already. Sure he’s tiny and in a lot of cases ppl might not spot him. But that moment they do and see the buff on him… He’s so darn cute! (In my opinion the cutest dungeon-based easter egg in the game) Every time I do CoF I go spawn him

Plz Anet, give us a mini Dozer! I want our little love-infatuated spider out of the fiery caverns of the Flame Legion, and out in the bright sunny world of Tyria!

Guildhall Unlocks and Players without HoT

Figured I’d bring this up, as I don’t recall seeing it posted elsewhere and it really needs raising.

Anet, why lock guild-members out from using functions they can contribute materials towards, just because they don’t have the expansion? This isn’t even just the new functions, I’m talking about guild buffs that before HoT came out, everyone in the guild was able to benefit from.

Now only HoT owners can access them.

Let’s look at the Guild Arena. Yes, it’s new, but it takes a lot of mats and effort to get it… Yet half the people in my guild can’t use it, and are forced to sit back and watch all the others have fun in it because the NPCs to enter it refuse to talk to them. The whole guild worked together to get that arena, and a lot of other upgrades, yet those who can’t afford the expansion are being punished for not having it.

So please, Anet, consider this. Only lock out the ability to purchase/access HoT only items/functions. Things like scribe, or the map currencies that can be traded for using Guild Commendations. Don’t stop players who don’t have HoT, from being able to access the things they had before the expac launched. And don’t stop players from having fun with their friends in the arena.

This game is supposed to be about community and guilds, yet this is something that is splitting guilds right down the middle.

If you’re on Europe servers, GW2Community.com are still doing regular TT and Teq runs. you can join us on teamspeak at ts.gw2community.com. Event times are listed in our channel names.

We’re also doing several HoT map runs each week including VB, Auric, and DS. We’re just getting started on Tangled, so no regular scheduled runs for that yet to my knowledge. But we’re working on it!

For anyone wanting to do Triple Trouble on the EU servers, GW2Community.com do 3 runs a day and we have a 91.4% success-rate. We’re open to all, and the gathering time for the next run is always listed in the name of EN Tri-Wurm (1) channel.

All we ask is that people be on teamspeak, listen to the commanders, and if you taxi in friends make sure they join the ts as well. If anyone is unfamiliar with the event, no worries, we do a full explanation every run if time allows. Listening is very important for the event, and it’s because we have this requirement that our success-rate is so good.

We’re also looking for more regulars who want to learn the Condi (Husk killer: Good classes for this are Engi, Ele, Warrior, Ranger, Necro, Guardian. Full condi gear required) and Diboof roles(Egg-spit Blocker: Ele and Guard are best/easiest for this). Both roles are good for people who like the challenge of doing a specialised role, and they’re definitely important ones. It only takes 2 full egg spits (and have them hatch) and one of husks with no one to deal with them, to turn the arena into an unmanageable mess as anyone who attends unorganised maps will know well.

But yeah, back to the point, we’re an open ts and everyone is welcome

Edit: Annnnd it would help if I posted the ts address;

Incoming Mentor Track

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Alaia Skyhawk.5064

I feel I need to put my own remark in here, with regards to the idea of removing commander tags in PvE.

I come from a large community who regularly organise runs of tequatl and triple trouble wurm. And while I admit tequatl could be done without the tags, TT would be near to impossible.

The tags provide a key focus for directing the players and keeping them from getting side-tracked during the event and costing valuable time. We use the /supplyinfo command to count the players on our stacks, ensuring that the 3 teams are balanced so that one head or another won’t overscale and become a massive mess of 2x the number of Veteran Jungle Wurms mauling the husk-killer and egg-blocking parties (which would mean numbers of larvae and husks running around the area murdering people and making it even worse). Many commanders use the squad chat to pass wurm-specific skill arrangements to their team so they don’t confuse the players at the other two stacks. Also, as someone pointed out above, the purple star of the mentor tag is smaller than the com tag, and during TT the commander tags can already become harder to see especially in phase 2.

I also point out that my guild uses the tags to coordinate our guild missions. when we find a bounty target, but we’re spread out, those of us at the target tag up with a set arrangement of colours (different from any mixture elsewhere on the map that may be there). that way we can say “look for the 2 red, 1 blue, and a yellow together” and then ping the nearest waypoint. It’s much faster than asking guild members to mouse over the com tags on map looking for a specific person.

Also, can you imagine trying to write something on the map with mentor tags after a community get together or event, instead of the glorious mash of colours from the commander tags?

Anyways, lastly I’ll point out something that was said in the stream when the possibility of trolling was mentioned about the mentor tag.

There are features in game to report those who use tags to troll, and so there is no reason to place restrictions on tags that will punish those who use them for good/helpful things. Being annoyed that someone is tagged up, even if it is to “show off”, is no fair or good reason to strip the ability from those who use them properly.

And that’s my two-cents

If you’re looking to do Tequatl and TT, gw2community.com do 3 kills per day on both of them. We go straight to TT channel once Teq dies, and the gathering times on teamspeak for Teq are 13:10 CEST/12:10 BST, 17:35 CEST/16:35 BST, and 20:35 CEST/19:35BST.

The teamspeak address is

ts.gw2community.com

There’s no password, and the runs are open to all. All the commanders ask is that you listen to and follow instructions. Trust us, we know what we’re doing lol. 864 TT kills and counting (90.38% success-rate) since we started recording our stats last September. We do full dryruns on the map before TT starts, so newcomers can learn what to expect and what to do to get the kill.

I’ll be commanding at the late runs tomorrow (Friday 19th)

Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Just came across this thread, and figured I’d confirm the mention of gw2community.com.

I’m one of the Community Managers/Worldboss Commanders for them, and we do indeed kill Tri-wurm up to three times per day. As of sorted stats on our spreadsheet today, we’ve had 822/914 kills since last September, or a 89.9% success-rate. The key is having teamspeak as well as finding a newly-spawned map and getting everyone into it, including your specialised teams of Condition Dealers (husk killers) and Diboofs (Egg blockers, to prevent larvae spawns).

We regularly advertise our runs in mapchat in Lion’s Arch before we do the jump to trigger a new map spawn, and they’re open to all regardless of levels of experience. All we ask is that you be on teamspeak, attend the dryruns if you’re new so you know what to do and not to do during the run, and follow the instructions of the commander leading at the head you’re at.

When all of those things are brought together, TT can be killed with relative ease and for a decent amount of loot, including the chance for the Regugitated Armor boxes, any of the other regular ascended weapon/armor boxes, the TT exclusive mini, Anelid Rifle Skins. I’ve regularly seen people get precursors from the TT chest as well, having done well over 300+ runs myself, most of which were successful kills.

Our teamspeak address is

ts.gw2community.com

It’s an open teamspeak, no password required, and we regularly run Tequatl maps as well. Our TT stackup times (the time to be in the “EN Tri-Wurm (1)” channel by) are 13:52 CEST, 18:20 CEST, and 21:20 CEST (-1 hour for UK time). Basically we kill Teq then move to the TT channel and start the setup. As said before, you can be completely new to the event and you’re still welcome. All you need is to listen, follow instructions, and you’ll get a kill

I’ll probably be commanding at the 21:20 CEST stack-up on Tuesday 2nd June, same again for Friday, and probably at multiple runs this coming weekend. If any of you decide to come along to one of those runs, keep an eye out for me, Rinaia Skyhawk (elementalist). And if you fancy a laugh while killing the wurm, tag along at the head where I’ll be commanding.

After all, the player-base hasn’t nicknamed me the “Crazy Commander” for nothing

and I quote:

“Whatever you do guys, do not run over this spot here. Because a husk lands here eeeeeeeeeeevery 90 seconds, and if a husk lands on your head, -it- -is- -going- -to- HUUUUUUUUUUURT!”

and

“Snotballs of DOOOOOOOOM!”

Oops, as a side-note, the Teq times to be in the “Tequatl the Sunless (1)” channel by, are 12:10 CEST, 5:40 CEST, and 20:40 CEST. We jump to the map just after those times, so try to be in the channel at least 5 min before that

Metrica Province has 3 exits. The first is the one into Rata Sum in the bottom-left corner. Just below the top right corner, at the Hexane Regrade Waypoint, is the exit to Caledon Forest. The last exit is centre-top of the map, at the Muridian Waypoint, and this leads to Brisban Wildlands and should be the area your Personal Story is sending you if you’re an Asura and have finished in Metrica

Guys, I wouldn’t panic over having stuff unlocked with SP from scrolls being “locked again”. I doubt Anet would penalize players in that way, especially when they didn’t the last time trait unlocking was changed. They’ll probably just “grandfather” existing characters into the new system (with all currently unlocked traits retained) the way they did last time

Burning will now stack intensity!

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Alaia Skyhawk.5064

I hardly see it as a nerf for guardian condi builds. Having already built a fully optimized condi-guard build (with decent regular dps) for my general PvE (and for laughs killing husks at Triple Trouble Wurm), I’m feeling like a kid in a sweet shop over the changes to burning and to the options I’ll have to play with.

Radiance – Right Hand Strength, Radiant Fire, Amplified Wrath + minors (+40% total crit vs burning foe while using my usual scepter + a “set things around you on fire” that’ll trigger every 6 seconds if you crit in addition to boosting burn duration by 20%, and then the 33% dmg boost to burning. Add in my usual torch offhand for even more “set things on fire”)

Zeal – Zealous Scepter, Kindled Zeal, Expeditious Spirit (might and burn every 5th attack which will boost above stat caps in downscaled areas, condi dmg boost, spirit weapons burn. With a 100% duration boost, the summoned sword will almost perma burn on its own due to attacking every 2.5 sec or so, never mind the burn stacks the player can pack out)

Honour – protective reviver, empowering might, force of will (prot reviver only one really worth taking in that tier, might on crit for you and ppl around you, and the health boost which at Triple Trouple wurm for condi guard, surviving with small health pool was an issue at times if you were unlucky on agro)

Note, previously Radiance and Zeal were the main two lines for the build, with the options for the 3rd line being limited really to “ok, what the heck I’ll just bring that because there’s nothing else can take that makes much difference”. Having access to an entire line instead of just the Adept tier of one, has added the additional source of might to boost condi dmg for the build + the survivability from the vitality boost.

But yeah, by this point there’s no exact information on how extactly the damage will scale with the number of burn stacks, so I can’t say how much the damage would be affected, but I can already gleefully see the possibilities. Especially once I add in the effects of the torment and earth sigils on my scepter/torch weapon set, and my sigils of doom and perception on my other set (typically staff or GS depending on situation). Add Krait runes and a elite with a 90 sec cooldown, and I’m going to have a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of fun at Triple Trouble and in general PvE >:D

Increased Bleeding Stacks

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Before anyone else panics, I would say I think the only mobs that will see an increase in the cap of conditions that are applied to them would probably be Elites, Champions, Legendaries, and Worldbosses (the ones that scale up to huge healthpools with more ppl there). In general running around during events with lots of mobs and players, I’ve currently found my condition/dps hybrid warrior having no issues with competing to apply stacks when there’s multiple targets. Not even in dungeons, since you need to consider that against a ball of mobs, condi builds can generally only stack high on their own against 1-2 targets (except necro with Epidemic, but even then it’s 5 mobs out of however many after initially focusing one). Engis can also stack well against multiples with grenades, but skill recharges limit how high they can go with grenades alone.

So back to my point, the only real place condi-specced builds suffer massively in the current system, is when in groups focusing a single target. Which is usually an Elite, Champ, Legendary, or Worldboss. Upping the caps on those types of mobs would help hugely to make pure condi and condi-hybrid builds more viable in large single-target events. And I would also say don’t worry about Keep Lords in WvW. If there are people stacking them to 25 bleed then using epidemic to infect the defending players stood within 600-range of him, if a player retains a max incoming cap of 25 bleed that can be applied to them, it would make little difference on how many the Lord has on him. If the Lord had 25 or 100, there would still be only 25 applied to 5 defenders in 600 range of him per epidemic. Even getting hit by 25 non-maxed condi dmg bleeds would mean death in seconds without a cleanse, and it’s something that can already happen in the current system. If players retain a max incoming cap of 25, I can’t see the entire or even most of the WvW players swapping out direct damage when in the large fights the direct damage would be better overall. Especially when the defending players during defence tend to nuke from the edges of the room in order to avoid the AoE spammage that gets targeted at the Lord in the centre. Any player who stands in that AoE fest in the middle of the Lord’s room, would probably go splat to the direct damage in that area well before any conditions could kill them

And besides, if Epidemic becomes an issue, all Anet needs to do is reduce the radius to something like 400 instead of 600 so that it can’t affect as much of a Lord Room. In PvE, when on my necro if using epidemic, most cases I use it the mobs I’m fighting are intent on chewing my face off and are nowhere near 600 range away from each other. Even the few times I’ve gone in PvP with it, I tended to use it when the enemy players were well within about 400 of my target (Generally when they’d been herded together ready for an AoE spike). So for me, a 200 reduction on radius for that skill wouldn’t really change anything. (Though I admit I don’t PvP with necro a lot, so this is just my viewpoint) I’d just have to be more careful about when I pop it in PvP

Feedback on HoT Stress Test [merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Alaia Skyhawk.5064

Here’s my feeedback:

Framerate: The smoke effects had a real impact on my fps, to the point I had to turn a lot of settings down and even then I got a lot of stutter whenever distant view of the smoldering wrecks of ships was in view. If these smoke effects are 3D particles, could perhaps they be replaced with a 2D replacement on certain LOD distances in order to reduce their impact on performance?

Tendril Torching: I had an issue where it took a full 30+ seconds after the timer had ended before my character dropped the flamethrower. During the challenge at no point was I able to drop the flamethrower with weaponswap when I knew I was doing badly and would not succeed. This caused frustration as it meant I couldn’t choose to restart immediately and instead had to wait for the timer (and the 30 sec lag afterwards) before I could retry. In addition the controls for the flamethrower were clunky, and I had difficulty reaching even the target of 50 tendrils until I realised that if I just flung my character around while skill 1 was channeling, I could sweep the flames across a wide area.

Masteries UI: If I hadn’t already known where it was, I’d have struggled to find it. Also the inability to close it with esc caused considerable frustration as I then had to locate the correct place on that panel to click and minimise it. I believe that integrating the Masteries panel into the Hero Panel would be far more intuitive. Also, it needs to be made clear that spending a mastery point doesn’t give you instant access to what you put it in. I believe a very visible progress bar and set of tooltips needs to be implemented as a part of that menu.

Gliding: While I found the glider easy to use, I agree with other feedback I’ve read that there needs to be a clear indication when you have the ability become available, and also a visible tooltip stating how to open AND close it while in the air. I would also suggest a small adjustment to the fall interval before you can open it. Due to the framerate/lag issues I was getting, it took several tries to get to the Mastery Orb on the vine opposite the area entrance because of falling too far each time. While I know from the tooltips there’s a mastery later in the line that apparently allows the glider to be opened faster, I still think the basic starting interval needs to be a little more forgiving. Lastly I’ve just an asthetic suggestion for the glider, which I believe would dramatically reduce how “clunky” it looks while while turning/strafing in the air. That suggestion would be to add a subtle “roll” animation to the glider, the way birds/planes bank in the air when they turn. I believe this would go far in improving the visual feel of the gliding system.

Revenant: Having gotten the chance to give it a much deeper look than I did at Rezzed, I have to say I really like this proffession. Some of the skills (on Mace and Axe) however seem to have activation times just a little too long, and I would suggest perhaps reducing these in exchange for a slightly longer cooldown to maintain balance in the overall frequency at which they can be used. As in an active combat style that the game encourages, these put a dampener at times on the sense of pace I felt when fighting with those weapons. I also had some issues with the firefield partially glitching into the ground on uneaven terrain.

All in all, I’m pleased with what I’ve seen so far, and I look forward seeing what we have revealed to us next!

I play a Warrior DPS/Condi hybrid. Rampager Armor, Cavalier Weapons, and mix of Zerker/Knights trinkets with zerker upgrades in them. Traits are 6,4,0,0,4. (I, IV, XI)(III, VIII)(III, IX). You can go Longbow or Rifle as other set, but I tend to use rifle as I like to cripple with skill 2 then knockback with skill 5 when something really annoying is trying to chew my face off.

Anyways, with my traits my power/precision/crit are all still high enough that I hit like a truck with regular attacks, but my condi-dmg is also boosted enough that using skill 5 then F1 on sword/axe set is great for insta-filling my adrenaline and packing out bleeds to burn down those pesky husk-type mobs through their high armor. I also use the insta-fill to gain my 15% dmg boost from full adrenaline for mobs I don’t need to pressure >:D

I’ve found the build to be great in PvE all over GW2, and doing world completion with it was a breeze since even everything in Arah I could either smack down in a handful of hits or pressure down fast if it was something big. Nothing quiet so fun as leaping into a ball of mobs, using endure pain, spin-to-win em, then F1 sword before dodging out and watching em then keel over from bleeds as they try to chase you. Not run it in dungeons much, since I tend to go Guardian or Ele for those, but I did use it to 3-man P3 in AC the other day for laughs with guildies. Sure we weren’t killing the burrows fast enough to stop all the stuff spawning out of em, but when those mobs got a face full of “Spin-to-win” followed by BLEEEEEEDS then repeated smashing with a sword, they kinda died too fast to do anything to us anyway

But yeah, the build is fun. I’ve never been a pure-meta type since I love thoery-crafting then testing hybrid builds, so this build was totally up my street

My guild is Draco Venantium [DV], one of the core guilds of the community, and we all can’t wait to see what Big Bad Bosses HoT gives us to go after next

In the meantime, we’ll keep cranking our way towards our 600th Tri-Wurm kill since we started making a record of them. We’re at 572 at the mo

During one of the recent Points of Interest, the hosts got into a rather animated discussion about the gliding and updrafts. Describing that moment “when you’ve got a tiny bit of endurance left and then you hit an updraft” saving you from crashing out of the sky.

If that doesn’t indicate that updrafts will recharge your endurance meter for the glider, then I’m not sure what does

I think you’ll find that with high enough mastery in the line, and sufficent skill to plan your routes to take advantage of updrafts, we’ll probably be able to glide some more than decent distances

If that doesn’t indicate that updrafts will recharge your endurance meter for the glider….

I think you’ll find that with high enough mastery in the line, and sufficent skill to plan your routes to take advantage of updrafts, we’ll probably be able to glide some more than decent distances

LA Becomes Sylvari Internment Camp

Just thought I’d mention this hear, for players worried what the whole Dragon Minion thing would mean for them.

If you play through Season 2 Living Story on a Sylvari, you get a number of extra dialogue options. In one of them the Pale Tree actually tells you that she and the Dream stand between you (a Sylvari who lives connected with the Dream) and a darkness that would destroy everything. She also tells you that the Soundless and Nightmare Court, who have cut themselves off from/deny the Dream, do not have that protection.

Aerin and Scarlet were both Soundless (or at least Scarlet had her defences cracked open by Omadd’s machine. A lot of the stuff on her seems to imply she was Soundless though. With her refusal to heed the Pale Tree and her desire to seek her own path away from that influence).

Also take into note the Pale Reavers, who have already been shown to be in HoT. One interaction line we’ve seen one say in the Points of Interest is “My mind is my own.” Not all Pact Sylvari were corrupted, but enough of them were to compound the incident and the fleet’s destruction.

On another note, I highly doubt Anet will kill off the Pale Tree, for the simple reason of it would totally screw over the Personal Story for anyone starting a Sylvari character afterwards

Lastly, Sylvari may be vulnerable to corruption by one of the Elder Dragons, but it’s proven that the other four races can be corrupted by more than one. They can always argue that in their favour. We’ve seen the following:

Asura
Undead (Zhaitan), and Kudu corrupted himself with energy from multiple dragons (Crucible of Eternity)

Humans
Undead (Zhaitan) and Branded (Kralkatorik)

Norn
Icebrood (Jormag) and Undead (Zhaitan)

Charr
Undead (Zhaitan) and Branded (Kralkatorik)

Sylvari have proven immune to all of the above, and the Pact had to deal with their dead rising up as an enemy a moment later when they fought to reach Zhaitan. I hardly see them changing that overall mentality now, even with the fleet trashed. Some will be understandly angry, but I think there’ll still be the solidarity as well

Commander Tag - Not a vanity feature!

As a fellow Worldboss Commander for the same community as Noobix, I have to say I agree with the 300g per colour being a ridiculous gold sink. I understand the price being hiked for the tags being accountbound, but the multi-colour functionality should come as one package, and not as separate unlocks for 300g EACH. I personally would happily pay 500g! for the tags, if all five colours came together as one bundle. Then at least each colour would ‘cost’ the 100g each in line with the original tag price.

As a Worldboss commander, I’ve already bought four tags so I can lead on Tri-Wurm runs with various professions/use a character where I can condi or diboof yet still tag up if one of the leading commanders on a run should DC. The knowledge I will get the blue + one other colour of my choice at patch because I have four, does not change my view. I will still be looking at paying another 300g to get the yellow or red tag. That being so I have blue for Cobalt Wurm, red for Crimson Wurm, and Yellow for Amber Wurm depending on which I lead for any particular run.

It’s penalising those who would use the colours to improve the experience for players at coordinated events. Those who use tags for vanity will always do that, so there’s no reason to make things harder for the people who use them as they’re intended to be used.

I imagine the 300g per colour will also have a knock-on effect for any future Worldboss Commanders that our community trains. If we start using colours to denote the stacks for the different wurms, new commanders will be looking at a 900g barrier if they want to be able to tag up for any of the three leadership roles at the event. Instead they may find themselves restricted to one wurm, or two, because of being unable to afford more colours.

If it came to that, it would likely force us to start begging donations from the community’s player-base in order to buy tags for new Worldboss Commanders. But in a community that is open to all, where we ask nothing of the players but that they join us on Teamspeak for the events we run, asking them to pay for future commanders would for me, personally, run against the grain.

I agree totally with the original post. As a Commander for [DV], who also lives in the uk, the current spawn times are far from ideal. To have the Wurm spawn at 6pm in winter will make it almost certain I can take no part in it at all.

Also, I agree with the statement that the order of spawning needs to be changed to Wurm -> Tequatl -> Karka. Wurm takes a LOT of organising to get everyone set and ready for the attempt, and it’s just not feasable to fit it in after a Teq kill. It’s also, in my opinion, utterly daft to have the Megabosses spawning during early morning and midday, because NO ONE is going to kill them at those hours.

If the events are a “big” load on the servers, wouldn’t it make sense to have that load put at the times when it’s going to do some good, instead of being a waste of resources?

At the very least, Anet, if you won’t change the timers to a better slot, make the consumables to summon them cheaper. 10k Influence and 20 Merits is far too expensive for the community.
