Bump. Still recruiting.
Unaffiliated Aussies [nA] is currently recruiting Oceanic players!
Unaffiliated Aussies is a Large PvE focused guild with members across all servers and time zones. We started off as an Oceanic based guild but over time we have been slowly losing our oceanic members to a point where we can no longer run our raids or guild missions during oceanic time slots.
We are a fairly casual guild without many rules, however, we do ask that any political or religious discussions be kept out of guild chat. We also have a zero tolerance on any forms of racism, sexism, hate speech or bigotry.

They could do a daily fractal token drop (or buy) or something to get 1 fractal base deco from merchant in guild hall.
Yes, this is an appropriate suggestion. Instead of having to spend our fractal relics, add a drop from daily chests that give a token you can trade in at the guild hall for fractal decorations. You could even have a vendor in the fractal lobby that trades fractal relics for this token at 150 relics each.
150 sounds fair, it is a guild hall after all. All guild members are supposed to work toward it, not a one man show.
Indeed. Once created, the decorations will last as long as the guild does. They aren’t one-time consumables or even account ascended gear.
Ok then, let me put this into perspective for you. My guild created a floating SAB island back in April. It cost us about 4000 SAB clouds and a couple hundred gold. To build something on a similar scale with the new Fractal decorations would cost about 1,000 Fragments of the Solid Ocean, or 150,000 Fractal Relics and about 4000g. Assuming you have 10 people doing their fractal dailies every day and donating every single Relic they get, it would take almost 7 years to get enough.
How in the world does that sound reasonable?

If I need something for scribing I ask in guild chat and get some stuff. The guild I’m in is 50 members total.
Last time I asked for alot of mats was for a god statue and someone gave me 3 stacks of cured hard leather squares lols.
Well, I can tell you, if you receive regular donations from most guild members for decorating your guild is in the minority. I posted the same thing on Reddit and every guild leader of a large guild who posted in it said the same thing.
We might receive the odd donation from guild members, I do too, but if you want to extensively decorate your hall, you’re going to be footing a large sum of the bill yourself.
SAB clouds were from a limited time event, so obviously they need to be easier to get than something you have 365 days a year to get.
It’s still way out of proportion. Assuming you do all of your fractal dailies for a year, you might be able to get 150 decorations…

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of players don’t care much for guild halls, let alone decorating them. Ask any guild leader and I guarantee that most of them will tell you that only a few guild members actually donate anything, besides the odd small donation.
So yes, from experience, decorating actually is a one man show.

With relics, why spend them on decorations when you could instead save up for endless potions, ascended chests, tonics, etc?
In case of ascended chests their non-fractal relic cost is so great, that they are not worth buying at all. The stabilizing matrix price alone makes them cost more than crafting options. With gold added on top of that…
Other options are more interesting (especially since you can’t get them any other way), but they’re at most an one-time purchase. After you buy them, you’re back to having no sink for relics again. So, the relic price of decorations might actually be okay in the long run. Tiering is not.
How many relics can a player get in a day, though? if you do your T4 dailies + the pages, you’ll get maybe 60-70 relics iirc. that’s not even enough for 1 decoration. Compare that to the SAB clouds…
I was doing some exploration recently and stumbled upon a Pipe Organ in Ebonhawke, why let us add these as decorations? It could be craftable through scribing, or obtained through upgrades. Either way, I think this would bring more people to guild halls, which is something this game needs desperately right now.
Hey guys, here’s a Gallery of some of my guild hall creations. Hope you enjoy them.
Also here’s a gallery + video of the Super Adventure Island I’ve made.
Thank you for reading
Don’t get me wrong, I think the new Fractal Decorations are great. It seems Anet has followed suit with the well received SAB decorations in terms of their design. However, the pricing is well above what we had with SAB.
With SAB decorations, we didn’t have multiple tiers of crafting to get different decorations, which the community loved, but it feels like anet has gone backwards. I’ll compare the Super Rock Platform from SAB with Slab of the Solid Ocean from Fractals since both of these share a similar design and use. To craft 1 Super Rock Platform, all you needed was:
- 32 Super Clouds (from vendor)
- 32 Mithril Ingots
- 1 Pouch of Brown Pigment
- 1 Simple Finishing Kit
It was quick, easy and cheap (~1 gold).
Right now, if you want to craft the Slab of the Solid Ocean, you’ll need:
- Orichalcum Craftsman’s Hammer
- Grandmaster’s Finishing Kit
- 4 Onyx Lodestones
- 2 Large Blocks of the Solid Ocean
It seems somewhat reasonable until you get to the last ingredient. to get these 2 Large blocks of the solid ocean, you’ll need to first craft 8 Chunks of Solid Ocean, then craft those into 4 Blocks of the solid Ocean, then finally into 2 Large Large Blocks of the solid Ocean. Not only does this make crafting way more tedious than it needs to be, but it also jacks the price up significantly, adding more and more Stabilizing Matrices. To craft these, expect to spend ~45g a piece.
Another issue is the price of Fragments of the Solid Ocean. Right now they’re 150 relics each. To put that into perspective, that’s 2400 fractal relics for 1 Slab of The Solid Ocean. To be honest, the price may be reasonable if there were no other use for fractal relics, but since yesterday’s patch, people are way less willing to spend their relics on guild hall decorations. With SAB there was nothing else you could do with decoration coins, they were their own currency, you either trade them in or destroy them. With relics, why spend them on decorations when you could instead save up for endless potions, ascended chests, tonics, etc? They need to be way cheaper to account for this.
I would love to create a massive solid ocean island in my guild hall, just as I made a floating SAB island, however, to build something on the same scale with Fractal decorations would cost about 30x the price of the SAB island, and a ridiculous amount of fractal relics.
As I understand revenant is a new class, so no.
I guess it will depend on the existing skills which ever race you pick.
He’s asking whether or not racial skills that are currently in the game will change depending on the Legend that you’re channeling… Or if they would even have access to them.
Thieves are awesome in fractals. They are masters of control and should be interrupting key skills from bosses, and removing defiance for deep freezes. They also have a crap tonne of blinds, make skipping a lot easier, and not to mention amazing DPS.
And don’t forget that dark field for Max hax. :x
I want the tonic q.q
Detha’s stability has the same problem, making it harder to do the glyph of renewal method in the trap room.
As we know, rangers and necromancers are getting staves and greatswords respectively. This gives them both 5 new weapon skills. meanwhile, mesmers are getting a shield in their off hand, this gives them 2 new skills, and the recently datamined ele sword skills only showed main hand sword, which leaves 3 skills. This hardly seems fair for classes that are getting single handed weapons tbh.
As of now, we barely have any curly hairstyles in the game. From a human perspective females have no curly hair options and males have 2, both of which look extremely lacklustre.
Hairs similar to the following would be much appreciated.
prob a noob question, but how do I turn this overlay off, and not just hide it?
speaking from a PvE perspective Mesmers aren’t known for their DPS, they’re mostly taken into dungeons/fractals for the utility they bring. If you want to focus on damage, I’d say go elementalist or thief, both of which can out DPS your warrior, and provide a lot of support for your groups (might/fury, blasts, stealth, combo fields, etc) but are considerably harder to play well.
Not sure if this is the right sub-forum to post this, But I think we should be able to make copies of the royal pass so we can keep one on all our characters, rather than having to transfer the one pass each time we play a different character. As someone with 11 characters, buying a separate one for all my characters isn’t an option.
If we can essentially do the same thing with outfits/gemstore skins, why can’t we do it with the royal pass? Heck, why stop there, maybe make infinite gathering tools the same.
Try turning off post-processing?
Even when attacking in melee range, forked lightning seems to “miss” the target for no apparent reason. This bug is highly frustrating.
Video for clarity:
And no, it’s not the skelk that was bugged, this randomly happens to any underwater creature.
I remember people talking about customizable mail carriers on reddit a while back. Was surprised when I logged on and found out they actually went through with it, haha.
Still no fix after today’s patch, unfortunately.
Not sure if this is intended, but why can’t we use conjures in the story instances when playing as a non instance owner?
lol wat. which boss are you talking about?
they only resurrect downed players, not fully dead.
- Arcane wave doesn’t count as a blast finisher underwater.
- Ice Walls’ detonate counts as 2 blast finishers.
Pretty sure the video is agreeing with what most of us are saying in this thread… o.O
Really? Because I more often than not pull aggro on my berserker 6/6/2 Elementalist.
lol, I did all the achievements solo with my full zerk ele easily (except Not Under My Command)
Edit: I mean the story achievements, not The Silverwastes.
Yes please. Currently working on my next legendary and I’m running out of karma. Tried farming karma in EoTM and my brain almost fell out.
My friend’s Elementalist: Hijk Elemental P
^ Yes, that so much.
“hey guys, I’m a zerk warrior”
Player heals you for 1500 using [“Shake It Off”]
Yes please! It’s so annoying when I fin myself in a party with 2 Guardians in the party, but they’d rather afk auto attack then do anything that requires even the smallest bit of coordination.
Just realized my hobby dungeon explorer has reached 681, that means 3410 dungeon paths. Q_Q
Doubt this is even close to the highest out there though; what have you guys reached?
why don’t you just play as a team member and stealth the rest of your group? -_-
I’m about 80% done and most of that is from PvP, considering i use my tokens to make gold. I don’t think “Dungeoneer” is an appropriate title for such an achievement. >.>
May I request something before the nerf?
5 quaggans with fiery greatsword vs Lupi!
So I guess we’re back to 3war1mes1guard meta?
The ele out-dps all of them with or without the nerf to FGS.
3war1mes1guard isn’t even to close to what should be considered “meta”.
True but the majority of the gw2 player base still seem to think that Warriors do the most DPS. >.>
At least we still have tidal wave!
:c
I must admit I do shy away from parties with necros in them, not because I think they do bad DPS or anything, It’s just that I main an ele and they spam darkness fields everywhere :x
This is my ranger. I think I did a fairly good job.
